How do we get into Recovery Mode on the Note 8? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

On my S7E, it was holding down the volume up, home key and then power key, and it would boot into recovery (power off first). But I can't figure out how to do that on my Note 8. I've done some searching, but no joy so far.
Anyone figure it out yet?

VOL up Bixby and power.

Its power button, Bixby button, and volume up(or maybe volume down, can't remember which).

Go to recovery, highlight the option using volume buttons and press power to accept...

Be prepared to wait at least 30 sec pressing volume down and power to get out. I thought my phone got stuck in download mode, don't think ever had to wait that long for phone to reboot.

Thanks much!
It didn't work at first, since I'd used Bixby Button Remapper. I had to fully uninstall it to get it into recovery. But I found that using bxActions will still let me remap the bixby button, and be able to get into recovery.
Life is good!

Hard rebooting is 10 seconds of holding Volume Down and Power buttons together. If it took 30 seconds you must have been on crack.
I'm just joking about the crack. :highfive:

cannot enter bootloader mode

Hi XDA,
I follow the instructions to enter bootloader mode. After switching off the phone I press power and volume down buttons at the same time. The phone wakes up and boots up normally. I've tried different periods of holding the buttons.
Please help.
First hold volume down, then hold the power button.
When it begins to vibrate instantly release the powerbutton and keep the volume down pressed until you get into fastboot

How about power + vol down to get to bootloader or power and both vol keys...my M8 locked up and power + both vol keys was the only thing that brought it back.

hi .i hold it around 5 mins but nothing happend.even charged through whole night but nothing.no led notification even.no sign of recovery.

Tab S2 stuck on boot screen (not animated Samsung screen, not loop)

Stuck on the boot screen, won't turn off, not in boot loop. I've held the power button for a while, nothing happens. Waiting for it to run out of power to see it I can then charge and try to get it into download/recovery mode.
Any suggestions?
Hold POWER +VOL DOWN
Never mind. I had tried the power button but not the combo for recovery (didn't work) or download (did work with the quick change over to recovery once the screen went black).

Not sure why I didn't originally just try this, but I guess I figured if the power button alone didn't do anything.....
Wasted a good deal of time searching, everything I found was for loops or downloads screen. Well maybe this simple thread with the title will help someone else.
Now I just need to figure out how to get Xposed on the thing. That's what I was trying to do when it locked.

That just causes my screen to go dark and then the same screen reappears. I've tried POWER + VOL DOWN, POWER + VOL UP, POWER + VOL BOTH, POWER + VOL x + HOME. I guess I'll wait until the power dies unless someone has another way to force power off

UPDATE: after letting it sit for 2 hours, POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME triggered download mode.

Can't get into Download mode

I have a SM-T710 that I can't get into download mode to use Odin. When I press Power + Home + Vol Down, I get a teal screen with the Android logo and the word "Galaxy" at the bottom. But pressing the Vol Up button does nothing. After a few seconds, the tablet displays the recovery menu but there is no Download option.
You're using the wrong button combo.
You are using POWER + HOME + VOL UP.
Use POWER + HOME + VOL DOWN.

Turns out that that is true. But only because the up - down buttons are reversed from every other tablet I've ever owned. Including the other six I'm looking at right now.

Every 4:3 tablet or phone I've seen has the volume down button at the bottom.

Home Button + Volume Down + Power Button will reboot the phone then press the Power button.

If you get stuck in download mode hold down power and volume down, it will exit download mode but will just reboot your phone.
