LG 2x UK order on USA T-Mobile?

Hi, i wanted to find out from you UK fellows or anyone with knowledge if i was to order the LG Optimus 2x from expansys seing that it will be available on 3/30/2011, will it work on USA T-Mobile carrier. I looked at LG UK's site and it has the T-Mobile (1700/2100) band. Am i to assume this will give me USA T-Mobile 3g/4g network?
BTW, how much am i looking at for total cost in Dollars. The last time i used the conversion it was over $700.00
I really don't know when T-mobile is going to carry this phone and they are not saying anything.
Thanks.
I'm sorry but that simply isn't possible at the moment. You see, T-Mobile USA uses AWS Bands 1700/2100. AWS is a technology that is only used in North America and is different from phones sold in the UK even if they are of the same band. You could still buy a 2X from the UK but it will only work at EDGE speeds. As for the US launch, I've heard that T-Mobile USA is actually going to be selling the 2X as the G2X in late March. Hopefully you could wait a couple more weeks. =)
Thanks for that info. I can never get these band/AWS stuff. I just know tmobile is 1700/2100. I guess i will wait few more weeks. If nothing comes out it might just be the Nexus S for me and then next year get a dual core.
the 2X is going to be coming to T-Mobile USA as the LG G2X. The phone is rumored to be out late this month or early next month.

Nokia Lumia 1520 LTE support in canada

Hi all sorry for my english
I would love to purchase the new Lumia 1520 but not easy to find here in Canada.
Luckily I found one in a store but was told its the international version that was released in Honk Kong she also told me it runs on the 2600hz or something like that
Is there a way for me to know 100% if it will support LTE here in Canada?
Thanks in advanced.
A) depends on the carrier
B) the bands that the phone supports, and the bands each carrier uses, are a matter of public knowledge. Look them up!
Hi, I'm from Turkey. A friend of mine had a BlackBerry 9900 formerly and it supports 3G. He had bought it from Europa, so in Turkey, although it supports 3G, doesn't work. He had to spin out using 2G.

[Q] Can I buy the T-mobile variant from another country?

Hello, I am planning on using this phone when I move to the United States this fall to attend college.
As the T-mobile variant is possibly the only one with unlocked bootloader, I am sure this is the best choice I have.
This was my original plan: buy SM-G925T, ship it to Korea, use it in Korea until August, move to the United States and open a number there.
Sadly, I found out T-mobile phones are only purchasable in the United States. Is there any other way for me to buy it from Korea?
If not, are there any other variants that support bands of SKT (LTE bands 1/3/5) and T-Mobile?
Cheers.

Confirmed Working Carriers

I'm going to try and create a list of known carriers that work with this watch directly out of the box for potential buyers. Please let me know if anything on this list is wrong/carriers I should add.
Known Working Carriers:
USA:
AT&T
T-Mobile
Verizon (Issues with calling have been reported on Verizon)
(W280)
USA MVNO's:
Project Fi (T-Mobile)
Cricket (AT&T)
(W280)
Canada:
Rogers
Bell
(W280)
New Zeland:
2degrees
Vodafone (LTE and HSPA)
UK:
Three
Philippines:
Globe Telecom
Smart Communications
Sun Cellular
(W281)
Australia:
Optus
Amaysim (LTE and HSPA)
Telstra (4G)
(W281)
Poland:
Plus
Orange
(W281)
Finland:
Elisa
(W281)
Thanks for this as I a curious specifically about Verizon.
This is just a suggestion:
Maybe its better to check the Network/Carrier Bands supported per "Variant" than to create a list.
Here are the watch variants of this model:
LG Watch Sport W281 (International Version)
2G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
3G - UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+ 850(B5)/900(B8)/1900(31)/2100(B21)
4G - LTE 800(B19)/900(B8)/1800(B3)/2600(B38,B41)
LG Watch Sport W280A - AT&T/Google Store(North America Only)
2G - GSM 850/1900 MHz
3G - WCDMA 850/1900 MHz
4G - LTE 850/1700/1900 MHz
*The LG Watch Sport W280A is definitely for "North American Network/Carrier" only. If you're outside North America, and purchase the W280A, you'll be disappointed because LTE connection will never work. Make sure to check the "LG Watch Sport W281" variant.
Now you can go to this site to check if your Network/Carrier supports this device:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/
Be careful using frequencycheck.com, the US version W280A does not work on any European frequency even though that web site says so!

Only disappointed if you want the LTE functionality.
Tethered to a smartphone, still works great for receiving and making calls, txt messages etc etc.

The problem with Android wear is that even if the frequencies match, since it doesn't support changing APN's, If your provider's APN isn't baked into the software, you won't have full network functionality (data)
Also, just as a footnote, if you're located in Canada, you will want the US variant (W280A), not the worldwide variant (W281)

True notes above should say W280A works for USA and Canada

I've edited it to "North America". Anyways, Globe Telecom, Smart Communications & Sun Cellular are perfectly working on my W281 variant Watch here in the Philippines.
I have had mine connected to Telstra 4G in Australia for 6+ months now, and this has worked fine for cell/voice calls, text and data over 4G. I haven't tried any other providers as this is who I am with on my other devices.

I have the US variant, since April, currently on holiday in the US from the UK and enjoying my giffgaff UK SIM in the watch, also a Three UK SIM also works just fine and the APN adjusts automatically when looking at SIM status, data works for either SIM....
Only wish LTE would work when back in the UK!

How did you get Project Fi to work? I tried popping my Fi card in and it just doesn't work. Under Sim Status, Network State just says disconnected. In advanced, Network Operators just keeps going back and forth between Automatic and Searching.

"US: Google Fi works fine - either with a full sim or a data only sim (no calls). Realize this is tmobile, but it's nice to have cell data at $0 per month and only usage (typically 0.01GB)."

I do not live in the US, so unfortunately I cannot help you. You can ask the quoted Reddit user above, from who I sourced this information. If Fi does not work as intended, let me know, and I will remove it from the list

I think I found an issue with my Fi Card. Works fine over Sprint, but no calling over TMo, only data. It's been escalated by Fi. We'll see where that ends up and I'll report back.
Cricket as it same as ATT.
My W280 (AT&T) is now picking up WIND/Freedom Canada's network, I imagine as a result of their recent Band 4 LTE refarm of their network. I may pop my Freedom Sim card in to test it, Voice will likely not work (they use Band 4 HSPA for calling)
I would remove Ting from the list, because you cannot change the APN to match their settings they list on their site.
