Hi guys. As I said in the title, sometimes, i think 50% of the time, I have no sound when I record a video. This happens with stock camera app and with google camera app also.
I haven't been able to find what is the trigger regarding this, sometimes it works after restart, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it works just after I restart the app. I have also tried to change the video resolution, the problem appears in any resolution.
I think this is an old problem, which appeared in an early version of OOS, but, since I have not used the phone for video recording for a long time, I did not knew that this problem exists.
I have tried to modify the "fluence" in build prop (noise reduction), hoping that it will work, after I have read a few threads regarding the problem with inconsistent sound on video recording. However, I did not find anyone who complained about no sound on video.
I am on open beta 15 rooted with magisk.
Any ideas?

Yep, I am about to try another rom, 4.5.0 stable, to see if the problem still persists and afterwards some lineage os rom. Thank you.

Hey everyone,
I have had multiple updates for Lineage on my Mix and still the issue remains. As mentioned in the title, the camera does not record video. It takes pictures just fine and when attempting to record video it looks to be recording, but when played back it's just the first frame and audio. I have tried multiple camera applications and none of them have helped.
It almost feels like an issue not with lineage itself, but the kernel on my device perhaps? I should mention this too, when i'm recording video through facebook messenger it works just fine, but only then. I can watch videos people sent to me just fine as well, so i don't believe playback is the issue.
Is anyone else having this issue with lineageOS on their Mix?
If anyone knows a way to fix this please tell me, its been bothering me forever. Thanks!

I'm sorry to sound dumb, but where would I be able to see my current firmware? Im guessing in about phone, but I'm not seeing it.

I'm having trouble getting what you told me to find. I have an up to date rom, the latest lineage os release, and I'm confused as to what you mean by firmware? Is that included in the rom? Thanks, sorry to sound dumb, just never ran into this issue before.

After turning camera on for a few times this happens.
Also there's an icon for multiwindow in recently menu but it doesn't work and cannot be turned off, kind of bothers me.
Just wondering @dl12345 , so if we have any issues or we find a bug that related with RR but not lineage it won't get fixed, even if we provide logs? I'm kind of confused on how you phrased it when you said that you wouldn't deal with RR bugs but you would still update this after every lineage build release. Would the newer builds of RR that's based on the newer builds of lineage cause issues later on?

I mean that if there is an RR specific bug then it won't get fixed until such times as the LineageOS build is fully stable. I'm already spending a lot of time getting the LineageOS build stable and I really don't have time to deal with two ROMs simultaneously. I released this RR build because quite a few people want it.
RR is based off LineageOS so actually compiling a build is not time consuming - I just point it to the same repository as my LineageOS build and tell it to build. This is why I am happy to release a RR build whenever I release a LineageOS build.

In addition to the camera, which after some photos fails, there is the bug of the previous RR build, after a call all the audio are muted. Only rebooting or using Tasker to kill mediaserver after call audio work again.

This is my Tasker backup.
Install Tasker and restore this.
Basically Tasker will kill media server and play a beep after a call.
The run shell task must be root granted.

Try run /system/bin/unmute-call-audio after making a call.
This is the app I use to unmute the audio on boot up. Be interesting to see if it fixes the problem....

Only for testing, flashed ROM again and now after call audio works normally, without Tasker.
If the bug appears again I will try your suggestion.

Has anyone noticed something with wrong with their accelerometer sensors? After awhile mine seems to stop working and don't change between the landscape and portrait modes.
I'll try to get logs for the next time it happens.
P.S. Do you guys have any suggestions for logging app for convenience?

From what I heard on the lineage thread try opening YouTube app and go back to the other application you were using. For some reason he said that it works.

If anyone is interested here's a RR boot animation which is normal sized since the one in the rom is really tiny (flashable)
I haven't find these mentioned yet but can someone confirm this isn't just me? Also I'm not sure if this is related to a WhatsApp bug or the ROM. Thanks in advance.
while you're using WhatsApp voice call it looks like screen closes but it continues to register touches even if you turn off the screen using the power button.
Also while listening to the voice messages of you cover the proximity sensor it turns off the screen and stops the playing message.

Any way to fix the system apps keeps crashing? only factory reset solves the problem but after 1 hour the problem occurs but on different system app.

Pretty much the title. After unbricking my phone, I restored my phone back to 3.5.1 totally, including the recovery and all.
Everything works fine except I could not play any videos on youtube, instagram, twitter..., no sound coming from spotify, cannot record videos either. And sometimes, videos do play while technically stuck at 0:00, but as soon as sound starts playing they completely freeze.
I tried updating through OTA to 4.5.1, but same story.
Any idea?

I tried it too a few days ago, but no luck, my 3T is almost dead now.
I just got a redmi note 5. Quite a downgrade, but happy with it.

im sure you can revive your 3T back to normal. you iust need proper steps and time to do so

I agree. Unless there's a Hardware fault, updating the software just requires the correct steps to be followed.
Im using lineage 17.1, March 2020, and there is a weird problem that it never happen me before, on whatsapp or video recording, the audio starts recording like the 3rd second, and videos are the same, is there something to fix this? kind of annoying cus at least 90% of the time i forgot to wait

This is really a question that should be posted in the lineage development thread. It's rom specific, or so it seems, you don't say if it was that way on stock or not. It doesn't coincide with my experience on stock, does it you? I'm guessing rom specific.

Nope, doesn't happen in the stock rom, not even when it was rooted, at soon I install lineageOS, this problem appears and haven't found a answer over the internet, thanks for the reply btw
Hello. I am facing weird bug with stereo speaker, upper one. Looks like it switches to earspeaker in stead of using normal dedicated speaker. When playing music , watching YT or any other media except when I make call and turn on speaker then sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I was on Chinese latest rom and was facing this weird issue but now I am on Global 12.0.3.0 and facing the same issue again. Since yesterday. I don't believe its hardware but anything is possible. I didn't drop the device.
Any suggestions or someone facing same or similar issue?

Yes checked, and it works now since this afternoon. It just randomly stops and starts working.

You are in global, me on xiaomi.eu 21.2.25 Beta, MIUI 12.5.
I have no other audio / music software installed. I dont use a headset.
YouTube and new pipe are working without issues .

Had the same issue on Chinese 12.0.22.0 (hope I got it right
I am suspecting right now that YouTube Vanced is maybe causing this , because I had a lot of difficulties to make it work on Chinese rom and also latest version 16.02.35 don't work properly, always log's me out and having difficulties loging back in. So I am using 15.43.32 version which is working all right. Official YTVanced downloaded with YTV manager.
Also I am using SoundCloud app
And Musicolet player , but mostly YT ., So if non other than me is facing this issue I am guessing that could be some app causing this ... ?

Xiaomi.eu rom based on china rom, so i think as you, it is an app.
Sorry, i use YTV (non root) too, without issues.
MicroG 0.2.16.204.713, Vanced 16.02.35, no yt music.
Turning MIUI optimisation ON while using YouTube Vanced Official app will result in bug that turns off ond on from time to time stereo upper speaker
MIUI optimisation (last settings on the bottom of the developer settings) is ON by the default. When you install YouTube Vanced he is guiding you on how to switch it off in order to work properly. I ignored this for the sake of my phone working better as stated by XIAOMI when you want to turn it off. I was aware that it is some app causing this problem because it was impossible that I am the only one with it. So there you go if anyone encounter this problem just turn off MIUI optimisation
