Stuttering sound in calls? - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

Many times when recieving, but not allways, the incomming voice is very poor, like the start of every word is missing. I have tried to turn of VoLTE, but no difference. Any other settings that I have missed maybe?

I noticed that too. I think there is a problem with Telephone app because Whatsapp for example has much louder incall volume than normal phone call.

Delayed Ringing

Hello,
Recently I have been noticing that my IIi appears to inform me of incoming calls rather late. When I wear my bluetooth headset I can hear the incoming call in my headset but it takes at least 5-7 seconds before the ringer on my phone starts ringing. By the time the ringer starts ringing to let me know of a phone call I have maybe 3-5 seconds to answer it before my voice mail picks up. Does anyone else experience this problem? Are there any solutions? It almost seems like the cpu just does not have the power to process the incoming call that quickly. Any help would be appreciated.
What headset are you using?
Does it have a delay without a headset?
On mine I get a delay with a headset that supports the handsfree profile (Jabra BT800) but not on a normal one, or without a headset.
My XDA2 did this also, but the XDA2 with WM2005 worked perfectly.
could be the time needed to find/load the ringtone ?
do you have caller id or ringtonex with different ringtones and/or pictures?
maybe loaded from memory card ?

I have the same problem with mine... I only get three rings to answer the phone - which can be pretty annoying!
I've not noticed whether having any form of headset makes a difference, though.
Ringing Delay
I upgaded to the latest version of software from 02 last week, since then I get what I can only describe as a "stutter" when the phone rings. I am also getting a lot of lost calls i.e the phone rings twice then says I have a missed call, but the people ringing me say that it goes to ansaphone ???

I have the same problems and the bluetooth flattens the battery in 4 hours. I used to have the XDA II with Sins cooked 2K3se and it was perfect, unfortunately I gave it to my son who won't give it back.
Hey, I have same problem, I got the latest ROM, and since then it got even worse. Does anybody knows how to fix the problem, modify ROM, or something, PLEase help.
Thank you.
the only solution i have to date is to change the answerphone delay, you can find your networks status codes here:
http://www.expansys.it/forumthread.asp?code=K700&thread=72
i changed mine to 30 secs to give me a better chance!
cheers

TyTn2 and Jawbone

I love this bluetooth headset. I was in a really noisy resturant, my friend could not even hear the noise on the other end. This jawbone has some serious noise cancelling technologies. Then I went into the bathroom where the music was insanely loud (mexican mariachi stuff) and still friend couldn't hear any music at all.
Weird but cool.
But when I press the button on my headset to hang up a call, it tries to open up the voice recorder/voice calling app on the tytn2. Very annoying.
Do any of you know how turn off this feature? I just want to stop the call. Thanks.
All I can say is that it isn't normal behavior...sorry.
I see that behavior all the time with 2 Jawbones, push button to end call, the call ends but voice dialer opens. I just keep quiet and it cancels itself, very irritating I agree.

Never heard of that problem. MAybe its the dialer or even the rom ur using to cause this problem? Have u tried a different rom with ur bluetooth? Also try to install a different dialer and see if that helps. My jawbone works perfect on my att tilt!

You using stock ROM or custom ROM?
this happens to mine as well. From what I've observed, it seem like a delay of some sort when you press the button to hang up, and then the call has already hung up on the other end, and instead of hanging up the call, the phone will just turn on the voice dialer.
it is almost certainly what fakts13 posted as a cause. I've never seen mine launch the voice recorder when hanging up from a call.
It is exactly what fakts13 said. A single button press on the Jawbone can answer or hang up a phone call, but it will also activate voice dialing if no phone call is active. The only problem that you are experiencing is that your other caller is hanging up before you, so there is no active call whenever you press the button on your Jawbone. Since there is no active call, the button press launches Voice Dial on your TyTN II. You could always disable Voice Dial altogether if you never use it.

slow on incoming calls.

I have a serious problem with my new diamond....
When I get an incoming call, I often miss the call because the phone is really slow to ring/vibrate...
I can see that at least for two of callers rings before it rings/vibrates on my end, the touch pad lights up/flashes. But unless you are physically watching your phone all the time, you have no chance to react in time..
Especially becase the lag-of-death os (wm6) takes eternity to figure out that Im actually frantically pressing 'answer call'
Is there some sort of registry hack for this?
Disabling the phone skin helps (download Schap's Advanced Config) and gives you back about 10Mb of memory. Also, some people say that moving from a .wav ringtone to an mp3 helps. I've not tried the latter but it certainly helped on previous PPCs.
Don't have any suggestions for your problem, but I do have a question of my own:
Who hangs up after 2 rings!?!
Who designs a phone that doesn't ring the first three times and then starts ringing? What's the point?

And the answer to that would be - HTC
BTW just a suggestion, if it might help ...
You can set alerts for missed calls - Start - Settings - Sounds and Notifications.
So.. in case someone does give you a missed call (one or two rings and then disconnects) - you will be notified with a sound. As opposed to pulling the phone out of your pocket - after 30 minutes and then noticing that you have a few missed calls from people who disconnected after 2 rings
Hope this helps.
the thing is that when the phone starts ringing, I need to react... it does actually happen that it is not in my hand, but on the table somewhere etc..
then by the time it rings the second time I get to it, and press answer.. wm6 then takes 2 years to figure out that the moron holding the phone has actually pressed te button..
by then its up to at least 5 rings on the other end... then a lot of people hang up...
what I would like was to tweak the phone to ring immedeately instead of the initial blinking for two rings...
yea someone do help out in this aspect please...
i for one have free incoming call.. so its pretty wasteful to call back a missed call when actually i could have answered it fast enough..
and im using a mp3 ringtone.. din see much improvement..
As told before: seems the diamond dialer interface is causing most of the pain. disabling it makes it respond faster.
but maybe...
someone made a custom VGA version of our Diamond dialer skin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2365614&postcount=16
perhaps if we install this we get our Diamond skin back but without delay (???). it's worth a try, I will try it later.
disadvantage: 5 Mb extra storage space consumed.
I just did some testing on my Diamond.
I have a .wav as ringtone, am using the new dailer interface and am not using TF3D.
The phone starts ringing after the caller hears the second ring on his end, not too bad is it?
Also, I noticed disabling the new dailer interface also disables the "flip the phone to mute" option?
yes its bad.. or not good enough...
did you notice that the ring on your diamond is in fact blinking for those two first rings?
So the phone knows someone is calling you, but delays the ringing?
It's really not that big a deal..
I mean.. so it rings a few seconds later... I mean.. err.. compare that to.. NOT BEEPING AT ALL when you receive an SMS (thanks for the tweak) or an EMAIL (hoping to find a tweak)..
Yeah, it's a problem.. just not that big a problem.
you can setup notifications in the advanced section of the sounds menu.
and even if you couldnt I dont see how one flaw should excuse another?!

Mate, you SERIOUSLY think that there were tonns of people who DIDN'T think of setting up the Sounds and Notifications Menu!!
Needed a registry tweak (for the SMS) and as far as I know, some are still having a problem with the Email (auto retrieval) - notification.
More importantly, nobody is saying that the delayed ring IS NOT A FLAW..
I just said.. a few seconds delay is not THAT big a deal. It's not a matter of EXCUSE one FLAW by looking at the other. Definitely not. A problem is a problem. I was just highlighting that a few seconds delay in notification is not THAT BAD as opposed to not being notified (by a sound) AT ALL

well for me its bad, and theres plenty of other people that feel likewise..
I agree it is bad and would also like a solution.
Most people who ring me get two rings before my phone even plays the MP3 and 2 rings later the answer phone kicks in.
It would be nice if the MP3 played as soon as the LED flashed like it should..

what do you mean with " new dialer interface", the white Diamond interface that comes with the diamond ROMs or the cab file I referred to?

I mean the default dailer interface m8. I'm calling it the 'new dailer' because the tweak set you back to the old one (default WM6.1).
Sorry for confusion
Ok you guys and dolls with the slow response: what ROM are you using?
I use the 1.93 (from Walshieau) en did the test many times today with the diamond dialer active. Result: the moment the phone goes over my Diamond responds. Exactly at the same time!
I did it with the device on, device off, waited 10 minutes, all the same result: immediate answer.
Are there any guys who use 1.93 and experience the delay or am I the only lucky bastard?
BTW: I use radio 1.00.25.05

record calls

does anyone try to record calls with the diamond?is it record both sides?
I could record both sides with speakerphone on... not with bluetooth handsfree or 'normal' phonecall... and if the screen shuts down the recorder stops...
Would be nice with a 'record' button when you make a call
EDIT!: I found this app... AudioNotes, still have to use 'Speaker on' but it starts recording when u make a phone call... (and stops when u hang up)

Also, there are a lot of other, similar solutions; most importantly, Resco Audio Recorder.
Make sure you read my related reviews & articles.
not recording the other side is a hardware limitation, or vito doesnt do it?
does resco record the other person?

1, hardware limitation. read my articles, I've explained this several times
2, nope
as the previous poster said it comes right down to what the hardware can and can't do.
Unfortunately it wasn't possible on the hermes either. It is possible on some other pdaphones (not any htc that i'm aware of). I had hoped they'd fix it for the diamond...unfortunately they haven't.
The most annoying thing about this for me is it prevents the development of an answering machine program (like a voicemail on your handset) which would be great as it would save you from having to PAY for call to your opperator's service.
Mind you that's also probably one of the things that motivates HTC not to design the phones to be capable of doing this.
It is very annoying.
I use Vito Audio Notes. I also use BT (Sony-Ericson). My previous phone's speaker/mic broke so the only way I could talk on the phone was through BT. Now I prefer it. I can't fathom having to dedicate one of my appendages to holding a phone to my ear anymore.
Anyway, Vito Audio Notes works fine to record both sides of the conversation. They have a setting for speaker phone. You turn that one and viola. And AFAICT, when talking on the BT headset the speaker phone in the Diamond is not, I repeat NOT blerting out the contents of your conversation.
On the rare occasions when I use the phone to talk instead of my BT headset, when I answer the phone the speaker phone turns itself on. I think that that is from Vito Audio Notes. I have since turned off the setting in Audio Notes to automatically turn on the speaker phone and my last phone call seemed to record both sides of the conversation.
In any event, it is indeed doable even with this hardware, using BT at least.
You can record the call, using your handsfree.
I am also using Audio Notes. It can record both side phone conversation, but it cannot record counterpart's voice when I am using with my bluetooth headset.

WhatsApp calls don't vibrate

I'm fnding that WhatsApp calls don't vibrate when I'm out of the app (eg screen is off, or using another app)
The strange thing if I'm in the app itself, the vibrate works fine for calls, but the moment I'm out of it, I only have the dropdown notification but no vibration.
I'm on version 2.19.308 of WhatsApp.
Is anyone else having this issue as well?
I have a Pixel 2 xl and I'm also having this problem. I've missed several calls because I always have my phone on vibrate at work. It's really annoying.
