Caller name announcer? - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

Can anyone suggest a good caller name announcer for the device running MIUI 9 Global Developer ROM? I've tried a few available in the Play Store, but none of them works. They were not able to announce the caller real-time. A few read the missed call notification after the call gets disconnected. I assume it is some kind of a limitation of the OS. May be a change in setting could resolve the issue. Would really appreciate if anyone could help. I just want to listen who's calling while using my Bluetooth headset. That's all.

I have the same problem! Does anyone have the same problem and found the way to solve it?

bluetooth doesnt ring for call waiting

1st off yes I searched the site. so here's the trouble. while on a call and I receive another call neither the phone or the bluetooth rings. this just started happening today and there have been no software changes in over 2 weeks. deleted any software that I thought might afect it..msvc and inesoft address book pro. only way I know I have another call is to watch the screen. any help is appreciated. I will survive the endless mocking of did you search questions as long as you are kind enough to tell me what search string you used maybe ill just flash a new rom and reload tonight....hrmmmm
so i flashed a few new roms and the problem still exists. the set im using is motorola s9's. also the phone itself no longer rings while the bluetooth is connected for call waiting calls. with no bluetooth the call waiting works fine. tried the s9's on my old sync and the call waiting works just fine...

Call waiting doesn't notify of incoming call during a call

Hello, I have a small problem with my XZ. It's currently running 4.2.2 with build number 10.3.A.0.423.
The issue I'm facing with, is that when I am in a call and someone else calls me there is no warning sound that another person is calling me. The reject or answer call appears but there is no actual sound to announce that another person is calling me.
I have tried without any luck the following:
- checked/unchecked the call waiting option = it didn't work, if the option is unchecked than the person that tries to call me while I am on call with someone else gets a busy line, so in this case the option works as expected
- used pc companion to restore 4.2.2 as I thought that maybe some app i installed messed up this option = this also didn't work as after the fresh restore there was still no sound while I was in call with another person while someone else called me
So my question is that is this a bug of 4.2.2, does anyone else know of this issue? I goggled this problem without any luck in finding an answer.
Any suggestions or ideas?
Nice to see that the thread got 94 views but no reply. Am I the only one with this problem?
Can someone with the same firmware as mine test the behavior described by me? That way I could find out if it's a 4.2.2 bug or another issue.

[Q] Caller ID always shows Unknown

Since there is no forum for "Moto G" I'm posting my question here...
All calls from unsaved number only show "Unknown" not even the number of the caller, I badly need a fix for this. I'm on stock ROM and kernel, untouched. I did installed Truecaller and thought that might be causing it, but uninstalling it didn't help.
Does anyone else have the same problem? Any fix for it?
Thanks

For future reference the moto g forum does exist : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g
As for your problem, is this also the case when you check the call log? Or only while the call is taking place
No, just incoming calls...they show as "unknown" and no number in the call log as well.
What carrier are you on? I seem to remember reading somewhere (may not have been here) that a Canadian carrier was charging for Caller ID and shows all calls as unknown even if they are saved in your phone.

If you're with Verizon, try this. Login to your account on Verizon's website. Look for the option to change the features of your phone. It should say that Caller ID is ACTIVE for your account. TURN IT OFF. Wait a bit and then try some test calls. Then, go to the website and turn Caller ID BACK ON. Wait a bit and then try some test calls.
This MAY fix your issue. Even if you're not with Verizon, it's possible this could resolve your issue as well if you try this with your current carrier.
Good luck!
:good:
Even I m facing the same problem. The caller I'd used to display with my Samsung phone but now it is not being displayed with moto g 3rd generation. How should I get it fixed

Xiaomi mi9 has no audio when receiving calls

I am wondering if anyone else has an issue where they cant hear anything when receiving a call. It only applies to SIM based calls. Data based like hangouts or signal have no issues. Also if I am the one calling there is no problem at all. When I pick up a SIM call I hear nothing, but my audio comes in great for the other person. The problem is purely on my end. This happens for me with both the stock global ROM, and pixel experience. From what I can tell, my speakers work fine, but I am stumped here trying to figure out whats going on.

Hi
To localize your problem, please try truephone app and tell us if this is working or not.
Do you have automatically answer call enabled in the dialer settings or anything that might modify the call state like raise to ear or any other custom settings like reduce ring volume when raising handset, flip to mute or anything at all of that nature? I would disable any setting like that you are using and see if it helps.
There was a bug on an EEA build last month where the voice of the caller couldn't be heard on incoming Volte calls. Touching the hold button twice on the dialer allowed the call to be heard normally.
You might also want to turn Bluetooth off if enabled just to verify that the sound from your call isn't being routed in error to a Bluetooth device.
Did the problem just start recently?

Are you using any mods like Xposed or the Magisk module that uses the earpiece to create stereo sound?

I have tried several dialers including truephone and the problem is persistent for all of them.

I don't have any settings or magisk mods that should be touching the volume at all, and it happens both with and without bluetooth enabled. However, the hold/unhold thing does work for me. Was there any fix for this bug? I can live with tapping hold twice until this gets solved. It is definitely better than just not answering any call I get.

The bug went away for me after I switched from EEA to the Global Beta ROM. Currently I'm running ROS and the issue never came back--it seemed to be specific to the EEA ROM.

I got almost the same diagnostic unless sound does not work when receiving a what's app call either. But it works when I'm the one making the call.
What is the "hold" button, I tried everything physical and software button I could think of and I don't find it.

Question When someone calls me, it rings once and disconnects on their end

When someone calls me, it rings once and disconnects on their end, but for me, I have no information on a missed call or anything, like they never called me, did anyone else face this problem?
And if yes, can someone help me solve this issue?
Exynos S21 ultra running April patch on ONE UI 5.1
It sounds to me like this is a carrier issue. Are you able to make outgoing calls? Did you get a new line of service when you got your phone, or did you use a different phone before?
