Amazon Note 8 5500mah Battery Case - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accessories

This is the one I bought: Galaxy Note 8 Battery Case, Himino 5500mAh Extended Battery Charger... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07595GR35/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_nPy1zb075DR74
They all seem to be the same. Including the Zerolemon one which isn't available. Of course that's on the outside, perhaps the Zerolemon uses better cells. And I may switch to the Zerolemon one in the long run. Below is the review I left on Amazon.
The case is mediocre at best. This is just my first day with the case and my initial impression isn't great. The case back is soft touch plastic and it doesn't offer any grip. The sides of the case offer slightly more grip. The phone is held in the case securely and if you follow the instructions of pushing the phone out by the camera opening it can be removed easily enough. There is minimal front protection, the top and bottom lip only protrude about .5mm to .75mm above the glass. I can only slide 3 sheets of xerox paper between the phone screen and my desk when I lay it face down. 4 sheets will move the phone. If you drop your phone in this case, the sides should be ok but if it lands on the face I would expect the glass to break. The added weight won't do it any favors either.
On that note, I don't consider the weight a plus or minus. It's a heavy case, it's a big battery. You can carry around a battery pack of the same weight maybe a little less or you can have a convenient case that attaches directly to your phone and add the weight of the battery to your phone. Overall I feel the added weight is a fair trade off for the extra battery life.
To test the charging ability of the case,
I've discharged my phone to 10% and then turned the power off to see maximum charge I can get from the case into the phone. When I'm checking phone % charged, I'm just clicking the power button once which when powered off and charging provides a temporary screen with the phones current battery percentage. Through the charge cycle my phone remained in the "powered off" state, even though at some level it's technically not off since it still shows the charge percentage.
34% on the phone and the indicator on the back of the case turned green. The bottom of the phone case has become pretty warm over the +25% charge so far. Not necessarily hot but definitely uncomfortably warmer than I would want if this was in my pocket. Which with insulation would probably get even warmer.
43% and the indicator just turned blue. Blue means 25-50% remaining and the last "25%" (green) only provided about 10% actual charge for the phone (for the record I charges the case for 6hrs before first use and made sure it stopped charging and had time to cool down before using it).
92% and the indicator is still blue, the case temp has decreased, likely due to the phone accepting a charge more slowly as the battery fills up.
100% with the indicator still blue. Case is cool to the touch.
Definitely seems to be some discrepancy between the LED indicator percentage and the actual percentage remaining in the case battery.
This leaves me with a few thoughts. Perhaps there is a problem with some of the cells leading to quick percent changes through the 100% down to 50% (White and Green) portion of the charge cycle. Maybe the quick charge function of the phone is maxing out the charge circuit and it is running far below peak efficiency leading to more heat and less power being transferred. I'll charge the case over night and if possible turn off quick charge on the phone to see if it I can get better performance out of the White and Green portion of the charge cycle. But so far the case provided one full charge in about 2hrs 14mins with the phone off and supposedly has >25% left in the tank.
Overall I don't expect to use this case as my primary case. While the extra battery life is nice, the lack of sufficient screen protection and limited grip make this a need to use only case. My Note 8 doesn't have a problem lasting through my day and I usually have enough battery life left to get me through the night and well into the next day. I bought this case for the times when I travel where I usually use my phone constantly and battery life can become a challenge and for that I think it will be sufficient. I've rated it 3 stars to be fair as I think 2 is too low, but if I could I would rate it 2.5.

Phone charges super fast with a fast charger. Carry one around with a super short cable. Works better than a huge case.

I grabbed one also but from a different Amazon store and my only 2 gripes is its a real B to get the phone out of the case, it even says you have to press on the camera glass to push the phone out of the case... Yeah no thanks. Also it's not a fast charger as the item listing said it was. I only paid $16 for mine with a coupon via Vipon.com and after emailing the store complaining about them lying about it being a fast charger they have me a $15 credit back so I got the case only for $1.

Love my 2150 but went back to 1750

The 2150mah is a wonderful wonderful battery. I am glad to own it, and for really heavy users, or those will be out and about all day, it is definitely a great investment ... so long as you are ok not having a case.
But I started to think about it and realized, having 68% left at the end of the day is wonderful, but do I *need* 68% at the end of the day just so that I can risk damage to the phone? I don't think so.
With the low-effort battery charging trick (charge with power-on, when green, select power off, and wait for green again; NO NEED TO UNPLUG), the 1750mah provides a full day of usage, but will fit in a case.
Anyway, while YMMV, I think the bragging rights on battery power do not outweigh the risks of damage.
My 2 cents.
FWIW, you could do this and still have a case protecting most of the phone.

yah i like extended batteries but i dont want to sacrifice the case
Welp
Well ... I did a proper charge this morning, and played with Nav, maps, a few games of freecell, emailing, 1 phone call, and am still at 74% with my 1750. I think the 1750 with proper charging is the sweet spot.
Will the Innocase fit over the phone with a 2150 if you have the battery cover off?
For what it's worth, I bought the 2150 and, following the advice I received from another xda thread, just cut the back panel out of a soft case. Though much of the new expanded battery back is exposed, the camera lense is actually much more protected than before. And, of course, the screen is now protected from dropping. As a bonus, the phone looks nicer and the obnoxious bulge is considerably less noticeable.

I did the exact same thing. If you take your time and pay attention to detail the end result is very nice.
I did the hard case and cut it. 17 hours of use and still has half of the charge.

Thank you for your 2 cents, it has earned interest.
I was considering which battery to get since the stock 1300 seems to last ALLLLLMOST the whole day for me with heavy usage and having it plugged into USB at intervals when I am at my desk. I need something to last all day or nearly so without plugging in at all. I prefer to stick with something that fits in the stock case so I'll go for the 1750.
Thanks for sharing!

I guess that I am a moron. I don't get what the low-effort battery charging trick does. What do you mean by no need to unplug? I understand the steps, but don't you need to unplug it when you go somewhere?
I just bought the 2150 the other day and I did everything I could think of yesterday to completely kill it. I had it off the charger all day at work (I usually keep it plugged it at work), I played slacker for about 4 hours a few of which were in my car and didnt use my car charger (I always have my phone plugged in when driving), played about an hour of "traffic jam", sent numerous texts, talked over bluetooth, had GPS on all day, and lastly used SportyPal for an hour when I put in my bike miles. After all that and 15 hours later I was finally in the yellow. With that said I do love the extra juice I get from the battery but I dont think I need it over the 1750. I am going to order the 1750 and see how that holds up. If I like it I will return my 2150.

[Review] ZeroLemon 3500mah Battery Case

I've been using this ZeroLemon battery case on and off for my Galaxy S6 Edge in the past couple of months since May and I have to say that I like it a lot!! I've been a fan of ZeroLemon since 2013 when I began using their products for my Galaxy S4 (3000mah & 7500mah batteries) and this product has lived up to my expectations.
This product consists of 3 main parts - the 3500mah extra battery, a little bridge connector that connects the 3500mah battery to the micro USB port on the bottom of the phone, and a TPU case. Here is a picture of what they look like:
It is very simple and easy to put together the package. You first connect one side of the little bridge connector to your phone and connect the other side of the bridge connector to the battery. You then insert the phone and the battery together into the TPU case.
Once everything has been put together, it looks like this:
Putting on the battery case makes the package as tall as a Galaxy Note 4 and about double the Note 4's thickness.
I expected the phone to become super heavy but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too bad. My old Galaxy S4 with its 7500mah extended battery was heavy. This 3500mah ZL battery case is not bad at all. Despite the tallness and thickness, I am still able to use the phone easily with one hand, which is very important for me. The phone is still comfortable to hold and use.
One thing that struck me was the improvement in the quality of the TPU case ZeroLemon used for this product compared to its older TPU products. The feel is way better as the TPU material is now more solid-feeling with a nice texture to it. The older ZL TPU case material felt spongy and cheap in comparison. Kudos to ZL for improving their TPU case material and quality.
Fitment of the TPU case is very good as well. There are no glaring gaps anywhere and the phone is secured snugly with no nervous looseness or movements.
The main star of this kit, of course, is that extra 3500mah battery and it performs very well. My wife and I went far away from home yesterday to do some outlet shopping and I knew I would probably run out of juice during the trip with all the GPS & data usage. About the middle of the day, my phone battery was down to about 30%. So I activated the ZL 3500mah battery by holding down the Power Button on the back of the case and the phone began charging itself right away. About 1 & 15 mins later, the phone was fully charged back to 100%. Nice~! To turn off the charging function, I pressed down on the Power Button again. Very simple.
There are 4 indicators on the back of the case that lets you know how much charge you have left in the 3500mah battery. After that charging session from 30% to 100%, I had 2 bars left which was what I had expected.
So how do you charge the ZL battery pack? You connect your phone charger cable to the microUSB charging receptacle on the lower-left side of the battery case. I noticed that the ZL 3500mah battery gets charged first, followed by the internal OEM battery. After plugging the charger in at night and looking at the phone in the morning, both the ZL battery & OEM battery were fully charged to 100%.
To sum things up, I'm very happy with this ZeroLemon battery case. It is easy to set up, easy to hold and use, and the important battery extension capability just works as advertised.
++ Pros ++
-3500mah backup battery capacity!!
-Easy setup and comfortable to use.
-Good quality TPU case.
-Battery charges fast for not being a FastCharge type.
-The raised lip of the TPU case allows the phone to be placed face-down.
-The case routes the sound to the front so the phone with the case on becomes front-facing rather than down-facing.
++ Cons ++
-A bit difficult to slide the phone inside the case if you have a screen protector on the phone and don't want it to get wrinkled up. It's possible to not mess up the screen protector but takes some effort.
-At maximum volume level, the audio sounds a bit hollowed out and distorted. If one lowers the volume a couple notches, distortion goes away but still not as clear-sounding as having no case on.
I would definitely recommend this battery case to any S6 Edge user who doesn't mind the extra bulk of the case, doesn't want to carry around a power bank, and want some peace of mind knowing that their Edge will easily last the whole day and more. :good:
I've heard about Zerolemon that their batteries are powerful. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

ZeroLemon LG G4 8500mAh TriCell Extended Battery Review

I have had the ZeroLemon 8500mAh battery and case for a week now.
The day I received it, I charged it to 100% and left it on the charger for an additional 3 hours as the instructions say.
I have a moto 360 connected to this phone all the time, and used a set of Plantronics Backbeat GO 2 bluetooth earbuds about 4 hours per day.
The very first charge I went 4 days without charging and ended up with 9.5 hours screen on time.
I left the brightness on 100% and had 2 email accounts on push as well as the usual Facebook, weather and other apps syncing.
I use my phone for both work and personal use so it had some heavy use.
I have been going 2 days now on the second charge and it sits at 78%.
As for the size of the case on the phone. It honestly is much smaller than I was expecting.
You can look at the pictures I have attached and see it is no bigger than an OtterBox Defender, it is just more square and not rounded.
The case does look like it would protect from small drops (desk height) and scuffs.
The front does sit a bit above the glass to keep the glass from ever touching anything when you set it down.
All of the openings and ports line up correctly and are big enough for normal use with no issues.
The speaker port is on the bottom of the phone instead of the back making for less muffled sounds when placed on a table.
The rear buttons are well placed and easy to use.
The case itself adds texture and does not feel near as slippery as the original backs.
Overall I would recommend this case to anyone who has to charge their phone throughout the day or who can benefit from multiple days between charges.
I can honestly say that the only (and this is minor) problem I found was the ports on the bottom of the phone allow dust ingress to the battery compartment.
Other than that, this is the perfect extended battery/case for your LG G4.
Case Dimension: 6.07" H x 3.15" W x 0.84" T
Case Weight with battery: 178g
Total Weight with phone, extended battery and case: 282.4g
10/10
I received this case in exchange for an honest review.
How long does it take to fully charge it? I don't think this battery support the Quick Charge 2.0 and I have noticed that it takes quite a while to charge the normal battery, sometimes up to 4 hours with a 5V 2.1A charger. I just ordered (had to) a Quick Charge 2.0 charger hoping I can reduce the total time to at least half that time.
I don't mind leaving it on an entire night every 4 days, but it kinds of worry me that if I ever get this it will take a huge time charing it.

It took mine about 3 hours to reach 100% and then the directions state to let it charge for an additional 3 hours after it hits 100% to be fully charged.
So about 6 hours. I do as you described, every 3 or 4 days, depending on usage, I will fully charge the battery.
No it does not seem to support quick charge.

Hey @Milimbar i thought about getting it because I'm basically out I the field working all day and I like to listen to iHeartRadio. My job can be very dirty and hard sometimes so I need a tough case . The other extended battery cases seeing very crappy protective wise. The zerolemon case seems very good in that respect. The only thing holding me back is the thickness. Would you say it is twice the thickness of the g4? Elaborate on the thickness please.

BADASS NOTE 5 & 4 & LG G4
My review- 4 out of 5
Rather than spam the accessories board with my own review I thought I would post mine here.
Incredible battery life (comparison to stock battery screenshots included). Minimal to moderate increase in thickness considering the battery rating (8500 mAh). It's actually not much bigger/thicker than an otterbox case (picture included). I honestly can't say enough about how great the battery life of my LG G4 is with this. Seriously I spent last Sunday trying my best to drain it in a day and couldn't, and the battery life has only gotten better over the first 4 full charge cycles (per zerolemon it takes 6 cycles to achieve max performance). Seriously after one day I wouldn't have recommended it (size and bulk with moderate battery gain), after two days it began to grow on me (as battery life improved), and now I will use this battery all the time (why stop gaming to swap batteries?). When I did nothing but play DS emulator games all day (almost 12 hrs) and still had 30+ percent left when the stock battery only managed just a bit over 4 hrs and was at 15% made me a believer in this battery (battery saver just kicked on but by the time I took a screenshot the battery showed 1% more - common when doing something that drains a battery quickly over a long period of time).
Recharge times aren't that bad- it's always at 100% when I wake up and sometimes that's been only after 6 hours. I haven't actually kept track of the recharge time but it's surely not 12 hours or anything ridiculous. I would bet it's in the 3-5 hour range.
So if it's so great, why only 4/5?
Well, for starters, I am constantly pressing the wrong button on the back of my phone. I don't think it would have been too difficult to add a little bump or something for finger orientation (a small speck of plastic on the power button would have been great). I'm pressing Vol + or Vol - when I want to press the power button, or pressing the power button when wanting something else - which I have resorted to actually turning the phone over and looking at the buttons first. I also don't think the case was designed for anything but to hold the battery to the back of the phone. Don't expect it to save your G4 if you drop it on concrete. The sides flex out a bit quite easily, so I would imagine that your phone will pop out of the case if dropped (likely removing the zerolemon battery in the process). So the battery is great, but the case could be better/more rigid/more refined (thus 4/5 for the case quality and lack of attention to detail in its design).
Size is substantial as I stated, and even though it was less than I expected, I was sad that my phone doesn't comfortably fit in my Moga Pro Power anymore. It's doable, but angled funny. Not a deal breaker.
One other thing to note is you will be without NFC using this battery. The NFC sticker is inside the factory back cover, so anyone who uses android pay/wallet will no longer be able to do so. I personally don't use NFC at all, so I won't miss anything.
Full disclosure: I received this item from ZeroLemon for free in exchange for an honest review of this item (thanks again ZeroLemon).

Mine doesn't have nfc.
I do not think mine has NFC either.
I will check when I get home, but there are no contacts on the battery to match up with the contacts on the phone for NFC.
I checked, and it defiantly does not have NFC on the battery I received.
That does not mean that they did not change it between when mine was made and what is currently for sale.
I doubt it though as they sent me this one to review. It is more probable that the listing is in error.

anyone else want to answer this its an important question. How much weight does this thing add.

Remember that does not mean it adds 178g.
You remove the original back and battery and replace them with the extended battery and case.
Rough guess the phone with the extended battery and case is a little over double the original weight.

[Video, Text and Picture] Review of the Powerbear 6500mAh Extended Battery for the G4

I've written a more general audience review of this battery for my Amazon review, if you want to read that text, it's in the YouTube video description. For now though, here's one for here.
Powerbear appear to be the first to actually launch an extended battery for the G4 on Amazon.ca. At least at the time of writing, the only other relevant thing I could find on there was the Hyperion extended case... just the case, no battery. Anyway, the Powerbear model was only $35, and I was missing my Anker extended battery for my Galaxy S3, so I bought it.
The battery seems well made enough... certainly doesn't strike me as dangerous or going to fail soon... we'll have to see how long it actually lasts. The backing plate has a nice texture on it, but I put the phone straight into the extended case, which was included. The hexagonal pattern is attractive and the case is that nice smooth matt plastic for the most part, that you can still grip but also get in and out of your pocket easily enough.
Battery life has gone from poor (like 6hrs on the stock battery, if that) to spectacular... over 24 hours seems easily reachable without changing any habits. A subjective test over 12 hours of medium (or slightly under medium) use today has seen only a 40% drop in battery life. Yesterday, straight out of the box, it took almost 17hrs to go from 62% to 4% (all of this according to the LG G4's battery stats, on MM, completely stock and unrooted).
Overall I'm happy with it. Price seems very fair for what you get. I like the case and back plate and I can go back to not thinking about battery life.

Now y'all do know the charger that comes with the phone can't charge these Extended Batteries?! You need a Charger like this to charge the Batteries http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010P2BPT2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
Once mine needs a charge that's what i charge it with because if you charge with a charger then the battery isn't fully charge (Even though it says so) but it'll discharge fast you'll see
I got the powerbear a week ago and the battery life is amazing. I don't know what that post is about the chargers. Mine charges fine.

ZeroLemon Note 8 10,000mah battery case combo

First off, let me say this is a great setup for a power user and is the third ZeroLemon 10000mah battery case I have used on a mobile device. I use my phone for everyday business and multimedia use around 12-13 hours a day. I am constantly in the car or traveling for clients and have very little time to actively charge my phone on the move. This battery case combo was a no brainer for me.
So far I have been through 5 complete charge/drain cycles. Charging this battery case usually takes 8-10+ hours and holds a charge pretty well from what I have tested throughout the week.
The overall size and feel is great, although it does take a beautiful thin phone and make it into a hefty brick. I would say it is relatively the same size as 3 Note 8 phones stacked on top of each other. For me, this feels great and gives me a bit more piece of mind when handling the phone all day. However, your basic consumer may not like trade-off. That though, is a positive trade-off for me to have stellar battery and usability to get me through the day, worry free.
The case fits the phone very well and I do not worry about it coming loose, shifting etc...If I were to drop it I don't know how well it would absorb the impact, or whether the phone would stay in the case itsself. I'm not going to test that though. The s-pen can be a bit difficult to get out/in. This isn't an issue for me as I rarely use this feature. All the buttons line up with the respective case buttons and pluggin in the charger has ample clearances etc. The camera and fingerprint sensor are easily reachable as well.
Overall, this was a great purchase and one I will make again for future devices. It does exactly what I need it to do every day, and it does it very well.

I don't think anyone could have designed an uglier solution
Way too much bulk to add considering how long the battery last and how fast the Note 8 charges. I have an external battery, but have only used it once
I bought the 10000 mah lemon battery as well via pre-order being I was coming off a rooted Note 3. Once I seen they was making a 10000 mah lemon I went and bought the Note 8 immediately. Not only have I've gotten 3-4 days with moderate use but it can also be used as an EXTERNAL battery for anyone worried about the added bulk or having to take a more protective designed case off to use the lemon case and battery.
I haven't even seen this option advertised in the Amazon reviews, Zero Lemon website or anywhere so decided to share. Basically just buy any USB C to USB C cable like this but shorter if you want "AmazonBasics USB Type-C to USB Type-C 2.0 Cable - 6 Feet (1.8 M... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGKZ1VA/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_t1_icXvAb4CR5EGC and plug it in the actual white and black battery that fits in the lemon case. There's a input and output insert. Use the Input slot and plug the other end into the Note 8.
This works just like an external battery where you get the option to have it in the case or out the case. Also to add. When flat on a table, the lip for the case slightly raises the phone off flat surface which helps with the glass not touching. Although it's not designed to protect the phone I dropped mines twice off a dresser and not a scratch. Landed on its back possibly because of the weight. Hope this helps anyone in deciding.
