send text through assistant with phone's number - LG Watch Sport

i have an lg watch sport with LTE service. every time i ask assistant to send a text it insists in using the watch's number. i have tried factory restoring already. it is connected through Bluetooth to the phone. the weird part is it seems to work if i disable cellular and restart the watch, but if i turn cellular back on it goes back to insisting on using the watch's number, this even if i disable cellular again or have no service. it just fails out but insists on trying to use the watch number still. any help would be appreciated

This is something Google needs to fix but it looks like they've abandoned Android Wear for the time being

Looks like it's working now. Appears to have been with the latest Google search update. I have cellular disabled and using Assistant I can send text via voice command. On the other hand some things are broken like asking for score updates.

Now it's not working again. Geez. What a **** fest with this watch

Nexus 7 Replacing my Atrix For Work

I am an onsite tech, and I've been using my Old Atrix for almost 1.5 years, I'm excited I get to upgrade in February, but since I got my Nexus, I am totally going to start using it to replace my phone, and here is what I did:
1. Convinced my boss that we need to find an alternative to WhatsApp. So now we are using Google Talk, with Party Chat that keeps a persistent group chat.
2. Setup a Google Voice number, and I use that app to text.
3. Then setup Talkatone for calls, I disabled it from notifying me of texts since GV also does that.
4. The only thing I still need to do is get a BT headset to make calls more efficient.
I still need to test this setup more, but it should work good for me.
So, has your Nexus 7 replaced your phone yet?

Is Google voice fixed with update

On Sprint my phone never rang with calls, but Hangout does. Just wondering if anyone has tried it on Sprint

If I'm sitting at my computer Hangouts will notify me and then 20 seconds later my phone will ring. It's always been that way for me though. Update made no difference.
I'm using an actual Google Voice number not carrier integration. If you are using integration you may want to disable, call in to Sprint to make sure the soc code dropped off, and then enable it again.
Thanks. I had to disable Google voice. Did Sprint Integration. Phone rings when integration is disabled.

I have completely uninstalled Google Voice and it still rings to my computer first. It is very annoying. I also don't like the fact that I have to hit 1 to answer the call now.

DId you check your google voice setting ?
login to your g voice account> Settings>CALLs>turn off Call Screening.<--this will disable "hit 1 to answer the call "
Also, SETTING>PHONES , here should display your g voice# or ur sprint phone#, make sure your calls forwarded to your mobile.

I had the same problem, here is what I had to do. Go to voice.google.com and go to settings. Click Phones, then click edit below your sprint phone. Click show advanced settings and make sure always ring on weekdays and always ring on weekends is selected then click save. Mine were set on never ring, so my phone would never ring.

I had the same issue, but my "Always Ring" was set correctly. It either corrected itself, or changing roms helped. I am currently on Flex 360's Stock w/ Goodies 4.2.2 Beta 3, and it has been a pretty great rom. Couple minor items FC, but nothing major.
Tried the suggestions but still did not ring.

Out of town using Google voice because of poor cell coverage in Oxford Ohio. Working great. All calls ringing in. We will see when I return to MI tomorrow. Hope it's fixed.

cant make a call or text

Every time I call I get a message that I'm roaming and I can't make a call. Text messages don't go through either. At least I still have a data connection... Right

Yes I updated my profile and prl. Not sure why or how it got to that point though

Same thing
I'm having the same problem. It seems like it started when I updated to the newest software. When I'm right next to a tower, it seems to work normal, but when I get anywhere else...not so much. It will show signal, but disconnect right after I dial. After multiple attempts at provisioning, and manual reprogramming, they determined that it was an antenna problem and that I should take it into a store to get it replaced.
I'm having the same issue before and after updating. Sounds like a tower upgrade issue Imo

I thought that I had fixed it through a profile and prl update, but yesterday afternoon I lost everything. Took it back to the sprint store and was told that the connection issues are because of people buying or switching to the new S5 causing provisioning issues. The only time my phone works is over wifi. It's going back today

Fux the s5. Fux Sprint for not running the numbers on making sure it's network doesn't crash. The network is a nightmare in Chicago.

Pretty sure the network crap is just an excuse .... Just hope they realize and update their crap . I'll be hanging on awhile longer it not I'm just gonna call up htc and get it replaced after the 14 days
I was having the same problem and it turned out to be my Air rave. Called Air Rave direct 866-556-7310 and they reset my system. Everything fine now. Seems my air rave was stuck trying to connect my old phone. Maybe it'll help someone.

Cannot send Whatsapp or Make call through Phone with Watch

Hi All,
I'm from the UK so have imported this watch in from the USA and am not using the SIM within the watch.
With my previous Moto 360 I could make a call, albeit through the phone, by using Google Assistant through the watch. e.g. 'Call Joe Bloggs Mobile'.
Also I could send a Whatsapp directly from the watch. e.g 'send a whatsapp to joe bloggs will be there in two miunutes'.
With this watch when I try to make a call it just says calling, the little bar swings and then nothing, with the whatsapp I just get a message around the lines of 'Whatsapp is not installed or needs updating'.
Mobile connection is turned off, I turned it on on the watch and rebooted, to try to turn it on and then off, but it just comes up disabled.
Sending a text used to fail, but this seems to be working now.
How can I make this watch behave more like the Moto 360 and allow sending through the Phone?

Go into settings, connectivity, mobile, and turn it off. Go into settings, Bluetooth, scroll down and turn on "play phone vice call on watch". Reboot, and try again.

Hi,
Mobile was already off after a reboot, I guess because I don't have a sim in the watch.
Under Settings --> connectivity --> Bluetooth I don't see that option. Just the option to turn it off/on, my phone that's connected and Available devices.
My watch has the April 2017 patch on it, v2.5.0.172604017

Have you joined the beta program for Android Oreo 8? Or do you have Android 7.1.1 running? I joined the beta and upgraded to 8 and had all sorts of problems, most importantly no android pay, so I left the beta and downgraded again. weirdly I'm on patch 1 May 2017. I do have the W280A model though issues by AT&T.
Here's a screenshot of the setting

That's offs as I don't have that option. Just having there phone make the call would be good.

Android Messages Won't Send

About once every day or so, Android Messages won't send an SMS. If I reboot the phone, it will send. I have tried disabling wifi when it won't send, but it still won't deliver until a reboot. Verizon is my carrier. Never had problems with my Pixel 3XL. Any thoughts?

Is this a new line or did you replace an old phone. I had a friend who had SMS issues and had to have a tech over the phone work things out. His phone replaced an iPhone and that had some CDMA to LTE issues in the switch.

Replaced a old phone. Seems to be if I have WiFi calling enabled on the phone that the problem occurs.
I'm having the same issue with Pixel 4XL when connected to Wi-Fi.
Does Verizon use the esim instead if a physical Sim card. On Sprint when I switched from my 3a to the 4 xl I had to wipe the esim information off the 3a.
My 3a was still registering as in service but no connected. It was causing issues with calling and texting. I cleared all the esim info from the 3a called Sprint and had them refresh everything in the back end and I haven't had an issue since.
I have a Verizon physical sim. The issue seems worse today. When I got home from work I was wondering why I wasn't getting any texts. I turned off wifi and was flooded with messages that I didn't receive since connecting to wifi. My wife's Pixel 3XL and daughter's Pixel 2 are not having the same issue.
I have the exact same issue and started another thread describing it. I never had this problem with the Pixel 3 XL.

Did you have an iPhone beforehand? If so the go to apples site and unregister from iMessage as that's the culprit.

I simply disabled "chat features" within settings of android messages and seemed to do the trick. Good luck!
Edit: Nevermind, it was working but stopped. Please let us know if anyone else has success with Verizon tech support.
