for the root part, since you're on lollipop, use the linked .img from chainfire

i got an update for my bootloader unlocked and rooted moto g (1st gen) .
i downloaded it and installed but after rebooting it's showing Update unsuccessfull please help guys !

This is for G 2nd Gen, you're in the wrong forum.
