App launch speed is extremely fast. However I think this can still be improved by future Android releases. The SoC is already overkill for most of the tasks.

App launch is much faster on Oreo than on the latest Pie update. I have two Pixel 2 with both Oreo and Pie to test it.

Again laggy and not snappy.
Not much to say except that launching apps is pretty slow. I's bearable sometimes, but there are moments when it can be pretty bad. It may be a tiny bit better with 8.1, but that might also be placebo.

So, Snapdragon 625 really fast. If compare with flagship - Prime have 8/10 as for me. Popular social apps like Instagram, Telegram open nearly straight, for heavy apps you need to some wait.
