I am unlocked and was only able to use the fastboot version. So I think you'll have to unlock.

Was kind of a b**** to install, but finally got it.

How did you flash it? Did you need your bootloader unlocked beforehand?

Yeah, I had to unlock the bootloader. Unfortunately the laptop I usually use Mi Flash with on my prior Xiaomi devices would not work on this phone. I used a much older laptop, and that worked fine.

I think the global rom has Swedish but if not the Xiaomi.eu roms do: https://xiaomi.eu/community/ https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-9-21-22.41658/
They've released weekly/beta roms so far, hoping they release a stable one soon.

How do you flash this? Through fastboot? Through TWRP?

Unlocked but Fastboot method to install global keeps failing

I bought mine while visiting china. 6gb/128gb black for 3249rmb direct from xiaomi china
Phone is a beast but miui8 is garbage and without Google it's useless for me.
Unlocked the bootloader thru Xiaomi (damn 72 hour BS).
Downloaded the official xiaomi global rom tgz file
Downloaded the MiFlash utility from Xiaomi
Using Fastboot, MiFlash detects my phone
Unpacked the global rom tgz file into folder per instructions from xiaomi
Try to flash but I keep getting CRC error immediately
Tried to download a new ROM file and keep getting the same error.
Any one get the same issue? How did you solve it?
Thnx.
Frustrated!

It doesn't work any better than on Miui 9. But you can make it work on either version by going into developer options and disabling MIUI Optimization (last choice)

Download this www.xiaomitool.com/latest and it'll enable you to flash from China to Global without unlocking your bootloader. Tried it myself just now and it worked fine ?

I got a rather large update today for the global rom. 144MB. The notes said just system optimizations and bug fixes. 8.5.2.0MIUI version. I am on the September security patch. Not sure what it was before the update. It fixed a lot of little bugs like changing the region to the US.

Yup I have the same issue but it doesn't cause any problems for me, everything works fine with the Region set to China. I had a Mi 5s Plus before my Mi Mix 2 and that changed my Region to Poland on every reboot so I'm used to my Region being incorrect

Yes but if we get bootloader unlocked and flash with MiFlash using fastboot method regions are coming back I get confirmation from lot of other users who did this way.

Hello friend, can you now see all the regions on your phone settings? I mean after this new update? because I have same issue and even after this 8.5.2.0 update still don't have all regions only china.

I've got all the regions and I'm on 8.5.1.0

[REQ] Unlocking bootloader without waiting for permission.

I recently bought Redmi 4A phone. It has snapdragon processor and running MIUI GLobal 8.2.1.0 (MCCMIDL). I want to unlock the bootloader without waiting for permission from Xiaomi. How can I do it? I don't want to flash any other ROM. I just want to get root access and install TWRP and supersu. Currently, I am getting Partition Flashing Is Not Allowed during the flashing of TWRP using fastboot.
What makes you think it is possible to unlock the bootloader without the unlock permission by xiaomi?

You cant unless there will be a unofficial method.
afaik, xiaomi locked down the edl mode so no unofficial methods, only official method is the way to go.

yep it was possible with redmi note 3 pro but not with the newer phones that xiaomi released.
xiaomi been locked down the edl mode on redmi note 4x so i assume same goes for redmi 4a.
Technically speaking, you can just flash the TWRP via the EDL mode (download mode) (power off, volume up + power, download mode, flash with MiFlash) but

Its not a patched unlock tool method. but a patched bootloader that allows unlocking with simple fastboot commands
I just used an older version of MI unlock that didn't require waiting (on my Note 4).

No, I don't think that's possible. And old version of the tool or not, you'll have to wait 72 hours.
did any one try the deep flash cable on redmi note 4 (x) snapdragon yet
you can actually root without unlocking bootloader
it is possible to root without unlocking the bootloader, but it only works with older miui 8 versions, 8.5.30 or under, you can use 360root, but this can be revoked with the security app, but i recommend it other than unlocking the bootloader, bbut the app is chinese.

MI 8 bootloop after display replacement

Hi
My mi 8 display was cracked.
I wanna ask, why my mi 8 bootloop after display replacement? But when I using the old cracked display again, it turn on and works normally.
I replaced with OEM display for mi 8.
My phone was china version with global miui rom pie (forget the version).
Is this a software problems or what?
Thanks for your help.
I have the same problem after display exchange when I update my phone from 8 to 9.

I'm sorry for your struggle dude. I hope you find a fix soon. If there's any way I can help let me know.
Xiaomi really needs to get their stuff together and focus more on their "flagship" mi 8 rather than poco for now.

You can download here : http://bigota.d.miui.com/9.1.10/miui_MI8Global_9.1.10_e00f5f08da_9.0.zip
But face unlock doesnt work, so I decide to try PE rom today
Face unlock is region locked(another case of Xiaomi being retarded) so the fix is to change region setting.
No downsides
Hi, im facing same problem. With new display my mi8 stuck in mi logo.
So, what is your configuration when flashing it? With new lcd or with old one?
Thanks
Mine too just use latest beta global rom. It works.
If anyone is wondering, my phone booted correctly after flashing with the current ROM (dipper_global_images_V10.2.1.0.PEAMIXM_20190110.0000.00_9.0_global_4d02fd6c97.tgz), downloaded from here, via fastboot. Earlier versions would result in a bootloop at the Mi logo after I had replaced my screen.
Just a quick update.
The latest Miui Global Rom (V10.3.3.0.PEAMIXM) can't boot on my phone, and I have to stick with the previous (V10.3.2.0 PEAMIXM) for now. It doesn't loop, just gets stuck at the initial Mi screen; this also happens if the bootloader is locked and updated via OTA.
Official TWRP versions also can't boot, but TWRP by LR Team (from here) works.
Lineage OS 16 bootloops.
I'm not exactly sure why replacing the broken display causes this, or what I can do to try figure out what the problem is; but I thought someone else might find this information useful.

miui_MI8Global_V10.3.2.0.PEAMIXM_d9cf6c80bf_9.0.zip
depending on which version you need, and you will find a couple of download locations.

Over the last week, I tried xiaomi.eu stable rom.
EU 10.3.3 would boot; but EU 10.3.4 would not (in the same way that Global 10.3.3 does not boot).
Still unable to understand why changing the broken display would result in this behavior, and what I can do to overcome it. =(
I suspect a driver issue. With Device Info HW app can you confirm that your display model (LCM) is dci_ss_ea8074_notch_fhd_cmd_display? Touchscreen is also fts.
I have the screen that you say and I present the same problem as the partners.

V13.0.1.0.SKDMIXM is a global rom and you have a EEA rom(V12.5.20.0.RKDEUXM)
V13.0.1.0.SKDMIXM is only for MIUI Pilots, the only way to flash it is TWRP at the moment.

The rom is pushed to normal user now, i can update via "Choose update package" without any problem.
His problem was his phone is EEA variant (EUXM) thus not compatible with miui 13 global variant (MIXM)
same problem with the official rom and the official EUXM, it tells me that it is not an official firmware
Hi guys,
I have an EEA model and i have updated manually to MIUI 12.5.20 with recovery release found in the MIUI tracker thread, but now i can't update to MIUI 13 with the same process, It shows me this text dialog.
Naturally I've downloaded the recovery update many times before write this post just to be sure there aren't problem with the download process, i've tried to install the update in the safe mode too.
In the meantime i have done the process for unlock the bootloader (next monday i'll be able to do the fastboot command).
Can someone help me to solve this situation?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my english

There is new update V12.5.21.0.RKDEUXM. I guess it will give possibility to update to MIUI 13.

For now it's just security update. 13.0.8 can't be installed, because is older, so error will be you can't downgrade to older version. So maybe after few day they'll release MIUI 13 for Xiaomi 11T pro

Exactly, same problem but different error. I'll wait for unlock the bootloader, i'm sure it will be faster than ota or recovery release from Xiaomi.

But this is what I said I just said it by my words, because I don't have remembered the formulation of error .
He don't let me update too.... Really want to use 13 without wiping all
For anyone trying to upgrade to MIUI13
You can see what version you have if you take a look at the version ending. SKDMIXM is the Global version and RKDEUXM is the European (EEA)
If you notice the SKD and RKD part, it means Android 11 for R and Android 12 for S
Make sure your Xiaomi 11T Pro is running the Global ROM, it is officially released as V13.0.3.0.SKDMIXM.
The newest ROM for the Xiaomi 11T Pro EEA (European) right now is V12.5.21.0.RKDEUXM
If you try to install V13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM and run into an error, it is due to it being a Mi Pilot tester ROM only.
You wont be able to install a ROM from a different region over another one.
The only way to bypass this is by unlocking the bootloader and flash something like Xiaomi.EU which is a modified Xiaomi ROM which includes China ROM features.
Follow this guide:
MIUI 13 (Xiaomi.EU) for Xiaomi 11T Pro - V13.0.2.0.SKDMIXM
OFFICIAL XIAOMI.EU ROM FOR XIAOMI 11T PRO Android 12 / MIUI 13 I. READ ME FIRST! Your bootloader should be unlocked Installation via FASTBOOT (No TWRP version yet) This will ERASE ALL YOUR DATA - do a BACKUP first! May brick your device if you...

I installed 13.0.8.0 EEA no problem without being Mi Pilot tester downloading the fastboot zip and updating by selecting file in the built in updater, 13.0.9.0 EEA is Pilot Tester atm.
EEA Phone ofc^

Question Redmi Note 12 Pro India Rom on Chinese phone

Hi Guys,
Can someone please give me some advise? I am currently in China and bought a Redmi Note 12 Pro. I am from Europe and like to have all the Google apps including chrome and maps. I have installed Play already on this phone and all works quite well. However i cannot use the search bar as it only has the option of 2 Chinese search engines.
Can someone tell me if it is possible to install the India Rom on this phone and if so will i have free access to Play and google as a search engine?
Thank
Al
yes
Unlock bootlocker
Flash india rom
But I found the nfc not working after flashed india rom
@galenzha0
Thank you so much for the response. I can probably live without NFC until a fix or a global rom comes out.

Can you flash india rom on stock recovery? The person using this phone won't care about NFC
...and I'm rusty as hell with flashing, so would need instructions, I dunno if you use twrp - I can't find a version for this phone with a quick look
........
It's OK I flashed the india rom and it shows as global in the about phone section, don't care a bit about NFC so I'm happy

I've unlocked and flashed the Indian Rom V13.0.4.0.SMOINXM using MiFlash
It boots into the Recovery Screen saying "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device".
Am I doing anything wrong?

flashall
not flashalllock
keep bootloader unlock ed
You can't re-lock the bootloader on a rom for a different region, you have bricked your device. Try reflash (in fastboot mode) the chinese stable rom from here LINK
Then reflash the india rom but choose the following pic choice.
And read this below first
PSA: Flashing MIUI Global on these Xiaomi devices may brick your device
If you flash MIUI Global ROM on certain Xiaomi devices with a locked bootloader, your device will not boot. Here are the Xiaomi devices that could brick.

All Xiaomi smartphones and tablets will have anti-rollback protection enabled. What is it and how do you avoid bricking your device because of it?

Thanks galenzha0!
It worked for me!
Will I be able to re-lock when the Global Rom be released?
I've flashed a Poco X3 Pro from EEA to Indonesian (to get the call recording enabled) with the same procedure and it worked after re-locking the phone!
I didn't understand very well why I couldn't re-lock at this time!
Thanks

You can't relock it , Xiaomi are preventing it because people were buying chinese imports cheap, flashing global roms and selling them at higher prices. For now, your bootloader stays unlocked whatever rom you install that isn't the region specific software.

OMG!
Didn't know about, otherwise I wouldn't buy the Redmi Note 12 Pro til the Global!
The issue for now is NFC (Google Pay Contactless) and some apps like banking that doesn't work if you unlock the device.
Do you guys have any advice or should I return it to the seller while I still have time?
No, you will be able to install the global rom when it is released, however you will (unless there is an exploit) have to keep your bootloader unlocked. I think banking apps and Gpay complain more about rooting then bootloader but don't quote me on that, I'm not sure and it's early days.... Its a good hanset give it time
Had this guy help me since he has an authorized account: [email protected]
I ended up bricking my phone trying to sort it out, but he fixed it with the special Unlock Tool.
Got the factory ROM loaded and bootloaded locked. Can now use Google Apps including Google Pay/Wallet.

What is the factory rom? I only see India (no nfc/gpay etc) and Chinese so far. I didn't mind the chinese rom but there were still portions of it that hinged on the language.
