Important Notices
Proved works on MIUI (r9+ with latest Xiaomi patch), LineageOS variants, e.g. LineageOS, Mokee, AOSPExtended...
This project does not offer warranty. It may bricks you phone
This project considers daily battery life optimisation in the first place, since I don't play any game so far lol...
Installation
Download the flashable zip from one of these places, then flash it by recovery:
Mirror 1 - XDA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=22837#downloads
Mirror 2 - GitHub: https://github.com/huming2207/Popkern-sagit/releases
Changelog
For the changelog, please refer to the commit history: https://github.com/huming2207/Popkern-sagit/commits/mkn-mr1
Compatibility
What it should works:
MIUI 9 7.11.x to 7.12.7
LineageOS variants
What it might not work
Someone mentioned that this kernel may not boot with MIUI Oreo (7.12.8+, Chinese dev version?!)
On some Oreo ROMs, it may causes boot loop. MORE INFO NEEDED!! PLEASE REPORT TO ME IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE
Donation
Please do consider donating upstream authors first, e.g. Mokee team, Franco kernel etc. I'm just a cherry-picker.

Wow, it's the first 3rd party kernel for Mi6!
Thanks for your hard work!

Thank you, testing it on mokee 1013 nightly. Seems abit warmer but maybe because of first couple hours of booting.
Kernel level volume mod is greatly appreciated.

this kernel suppot f2fs?thanks.....

I loved the gpl parenthesis hahahahaha

I think it doesn't, at least I didn't port any related stuff to this kernel. But I'm not sure if upstream kernel source maintainers (Qualcomm, xiaomi and/or mokee) did or not. I don't have time or plans for porting this filesystem so far.

Here are some battery usage statistics taken yesterday. Screen brightness was set to automatic, screen-on time 3hrs (2hr59min for Android and 15 mins in the recovery). I've also listened 2hrs music in total with my Bluetooth devices and Netease music app.

thanks for your hard work

Okay I will try it later. I guess it may caused by ramdisk?

works fine with @xiaobai112220 LineageOS 14.1 1013 ROM
thanks

Works great, but would be nice if you upstreamed it to 4.4.92.

Hmmmmmm... I think it's not quite useful since Qualcomm did some backports in their upstream branch. So simply following them is enough I think.

Shenzhen? A look is the percentage of Chinese people, hehe
Compile two branches, one los and other third parties, one MIUI series.

Actually I would like to ask that is there any differences between the kernel itself (not ramdisk or the whole boot partition) in AOSP/Lineage variants and MIUI? I haven't start diving in and figure out the differences but if someone who knows some hints, please reply me soon. @xiaobai112220 @coderstory
Sorry this is the first time I do kernel mods as a public project instead of school assignments lol...

at least, then version of kernel must match to the version of blobs 。otherwise camera will not works in miui

Version 2 has uploaded.
Changelog:
- Allow 900mA fast charge when connecting to computers
- Upstream changes from Mokee
- Change compiler to Linaro GCC 7.1.1, but may also uses original GCC 7.2.0 later on Mac

You will see two folders "Normal ROMs" and "Alternate ROMs"
Use the normal one if you are running: CM, AOSB, Slim, or Beanstalk.
Use alternate if you are running: Carbon or Omni
Since PAC adds its own custom frameworks, it will have its own version.
If you flash the wrong one, you will be stuck on the bootanimation. Easy fix, just go flash the other one.
Installation:
Flash in recovery.
Then flash SuperSU
Goals of this kernel:
The objective of this kernel is to have a kernel for daily use. It does not aim for best battery life, or best smoothness or best benchmark scores. It aims more for a good mix of all, not sacrificing stability and functionality in the end. With that being said, I am open to any suggestions and contributions, but I will only implement it in if it makes sense to me and does not hinder one's experience using this as a daily driver. Also, try to limit talk of benchmark scores because they do not accurately depict real life experience.

Yeah, I was planning to so flashable zips in the future. This first release is like a beta. I need to make sure all 3 variants work properly. You have the n5100 right? I heard from tejkkarani that it takes forever to boot so hold off on flashing for now. (Great if anyone else could confirm this) I'm going to take a look at it today.

I sent you a PM. Its recommended to use Heimdall, but that way might work. Try it. I'll try to get a flashable zip asap. Computer is compiling a new ROM right now so I'll see after that.
EDIT: The flashable zip should be available soon. I'm testing it on my n5110. Check your PM in a few mins.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Just realized that this kernel does not work on anything but PAC. Therefore, I will spend a lot more time testing before releasing again. Thread will be closed until further notice.
Thread re-opened. Figured out the problem faster than I initially expected. Downloads are up for the N5110. I have personally tested them on the ROMs we have. There are two different versions for now so please download the correct one. Enjoy!
FYI: N5100 builds will start shortly (approximately 12-24 hours from now or so), and N5120 will start a day or two after that.
Edit: N5100 should be ready now.
Using on CM 11 (cm-11-20140226-NIGHTLY-n5100.zip) .. not bootloop for me. Works perfectly. As I have installed it just now cant comment on the performance or battery life. Using GravityBox (KK) with Xposed Framework. Didnt face any issues yet.
working with AOSB 1.3.0 on N5100 from 23rd February 2014 , no problem so far.

whoops, just checked the code. I forgot to enable it in the defconfigs (files and everything are all in place though). I'll enable it next release. And no its not, I'm going to change the name to DracoKernel in future releases. Currently, thats not too high on my priority list.
Edit: Boeffla sound may take a while. Enabled it but app isn't recognizing that the kernel has the feature..
EDIT! nevermind, i'm an idiot, lol. thanks for this kernel by the way! definitely kicks major ass!

[Kernel][Stock][CAF][05-06] Redmi Note 3 CAF kernel source

Hi,
I recently bought the redmi note 3 and noticed the lack of kernel support, so I decided to share this with you guys:
https://github.com/daeiron/kenzo_caf_kernel
Its a fully functional buildable kernel for stock MIUI.
Changelog:
05-06-2016
- Merge LA.BR.1.3.2_rb3.28
- Fix camera for some?
28-05-2016
- Enable KSM
- Fix fingerprint on 6.5.26 (xiaomi didn't update their kernel source, so have to use fingerprint hal from 6.5.19)
- Update ramdisk
- Other small stuff
21-05-2016
- Merged to LA.BR.1.3.2_rb3.27
- Merged some patches from ido source drop
15-05-2016
- Tested with 6.5.12
- Full kcal support
- Defauls at boot to 400mhz min freq & bfq scheduler
- Fsync toggle
- State_notifier and state_helper (from neobuddy89)
- Backlight dimmer (from flar2)
- A lot of patches and fixes (see git)
04-05-2016
- Merged to LA.BR.1.3.2_rb3.26
- Upstream patched to 3.10.101
- O3 + makefile optimized
- BFQ, Fiops and SIO
- RGB color support (use custom app like kernel adiutor)
- Other patches (see git)
Limitations:
- No color/contrast/reading mode support, seems they didn't release it as part of the kernel
- In kerneladiutor gpu freq displays at 600mhz, this is just a false reading. Check 'cat /sys/class/kgsl/kgsl-3d0/devfreq/cur_freq' for the real frequency
- If you build the kernel and it won't boot try stock toolchain (https://android.googlesource.com/platform/prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/aarch64/aarch64-linux-android-4.9) with up to this commit e1a8a48e59638c0d24d2214c2a85046068158a08
To build;
- Clone the repo
- Get yourself a toolchain (I use stock google 4.9 up to commit: e1a8a48e59638c0d24d2214c2a85046068158a08)
- Edit user vars in build/build_kernel.sh
- From kernel root run: sh build/build_kernel.sh
- You end up with a flashable zip file in build/dist/
I am planning on keeping the source up to date with CAF and also sync in the latest patches from kernel.org.
Feel free to fork or use, please mention that you did though.
You can find my flashable zip builds here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7XCSgymRoP0ZjJtSkxuS01kYUk
In oneplus one forum, sultanxda build a CM13.0 with CAF kernel and is pretty smooooooooth
Whoah,
Thank you, I was working on the same thing, this will save me a lot of time.
Yay more dev support, maybe in a month I'll figure out the stuff about building kernels and all that
Thanks for this
Thanks m8 great work

[KERNEL][Kenzo] FrancoKernel ⚡️- r16 - 18th April - LineageOS & Oreo

Hi all.
Compatibility:
Builds starting with r1 are for Lineage OS 14.1 based roms.
Builds starting with r13 are also for Android Oreo 8.1.0 roms.
Download:
From my webserver choose the Kernel with the most recent version number. Older releases for older Android versions are in the parent directory:
Android 7.1.2: https://kernels.franco-lnx.net/RedmiNote3/7.1.2/anyKernel/
Android 8.1.0: https://kernels.franco-lnx.net/RedmiNote3/8.1.0/anyKernel/
or from my Updater app. It's just easier and more convenient:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel
Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app
Features:
1 - Legendary battery life
2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Bypasses the verified boot flag for Android Pay compatibility (root still breaks Android Pay but that's your own problem)
5 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
6 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
7 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
8 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
9 - No useless placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
10 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

Franco Kernel: Manager & Updater demo
Disclaimer to moderators:
Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.
Cheers!
Full support on Franco Kernel Manager & Updater app has been released!
Also I'm pretty fresh on this device so if I missed anything let me know, if it makes sense I'll add it.

Wow, legendary was here...
Ohh welcome to our community, I am at your disposal to give you the necessary information of our device so that you support is complete, thank you!
Finally!!!
Will post review soon, no issues till now
Recommend installing the stock kernel first before installing your kernel?
I'll post it now so that I can refer to it later on. Battery life greatly varies between usage, signal strength, apps wakelocking (or not), display brightness and what not. I've set it up to save power as much as possible, but there are parts of the equation that I don't control. So be wary of that before you say X or Y wastes more or less battery life (or the usual erhmagherd no deep sleep as if I removed it... lol). I don't have any numbers about the improvements I've made, but they are pretty much in line with every device I've worked on. If you have my app the Power-Saving perf profile is a winner and helps tremendously if you really need the extra screen on time.

Share your ROM and MODS [CHEESEBURGER][USER FRIENDLY]

Why one more Boring CHEESEBURGER thread…?
Because I like to bore everyone (Kidding…)
Actually I’ve noticed If we talk about any ROM in any other ROM thread it’s considered as DISRESPECT of DEV, and I’m agree with this, Because every DEV works in this community for free and few user compares HIS work with another’s DEV that is completely unfair, and second reason to open this thread is – We all use a lot of modification, Some user uses that MOD without any issue but some unable to use same mod..So I felt to open this thread.I believe here every user will help each other…….
Important Note As I’ve mentioned its USER FRIENDLY thread that means DEVS are banned here… :sillySorry Once again kidding)….
I request to Forum Moderator @Stephen if he found this thread as Same/unnecessary, He can close this without my request……..

Bluetooth audio (and usb audio as well) is fixed yesterday: https://review.mfunz.com/22288
So the last issue is the NFC. Seems we have to switch the branch of NXP-NFC libs in our code base from LA.UM.5.5 to LA.UM.5.7. Not sure if it will break any earlier device such as OP3.

You're right. Calling may have some issue.
OnePlus' binaries and open-sourced framework changes for telephony are full of ****s, so I used binaries from Xiaomi 6 which are considered clean. But seems they still have compatibility issue.
Yes Bluetooth is working great! One thing I noticed, I can't seem to control earpiece volume during calls. Are you seeing this as well?
For nfc we can test, I have a lot of friends with OP3 so it'll be easy to confirm :good:

The earpiece volume that I mentioned above, is that related to this or something different?

For users and devs!!
All my kernels are based on cyanogenmod/lineageos source ,if someone who believes" i stoled their source" i have video captures and anyone who believes something just report me and i will have the last laugh .every tweak/mod/feature i used i edited/tweaked on my own and anyone with problem just stay away. My sources are free for anyone and can be used(i saw some ppl use them already)i don't care like other devs and i am happy and proud if someone use my work(the words" i work many hours on that project" the best repeatable words(many devs without the recognized tag and not with many thanks, they have worked for many hours/days/months and they don't cry and fight other devs )if for some devs their source are so much rare and hardworked just keep them privet(their work include their name so no problem ...we are not here for the fame ...we just want to improve the devices to make them better and not to fight with each other...
Why i am telling you all these?!
I have had many kernels unreleased from fights...i will continue to new clean projects based on lineageos and i will not care much with my source to wait many days to upload them with all the history of them because 2-3 "devs" they believe i used or edited their source...i am not a popular dev but you can't believe and no one knows how many days without sleep and hours of hardwork i have done, to do all this(and many not release source/work, much more than other devs...

So you used lineage source but removed all the lineage git history? I don't see how that's exceptable. But hey who am I to say.

I don't remove the history,i just download the source from lineageos github and i working on them... this is easier for me because if i try to upload all the source with history i need 1day to wait to upload the source.

Just one time i had a problem ^^
Why did you choose to call it crazyaqua as if a person wasnt knowlegable enough they would say it was related to AquariOs there for if there was a problem with it not saying there is but it could cause negative feed back for them i think you should put in your disclaimer that this has no association with AquariOS rom or their developers.Just my opinion!!!
SD CARD

Is it possible to have a stock version of the kernel?
If it isn't possible, maybe the SD card bug on stock can be fixed. Maybe it's a fstab bug?
Nice to see some kernel development for the G6! Thank you
