Galaxy S messenger app crashes occasionally?

This is my first android phone after using a Iphone for the past year.. I don't really care are about gps as I don't use it and as for lag its bearable to me. But the thing that seems to be grinding my gears is the default messenger app. Occasionally I would be texting a message to a friend and when I receive a reply, I would get a error message that says the android text messenger app has crashed and I am forced to close it.
It takes a reset or I have to wait like 5 or so minutes before the phone is back to normal.. I text more than talk so its a inconvenience when this happens. I just want to know if its a common occurrence or it might has something to do with the apps I have installed? I have no apps which modify my text in any way but I did disable the counter on when the when deletes old messages.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

[Q] Problems with Snapchat and FB Messenger

hello
I am having some problems with both Snapchat and Facebook Messenger on my Huawei Ascend P7 and i have had these problems since the day i got the phone.
Snapchat:
When i try to record a video, it doesn't record the audio for the first few seconds and it stops recording before the limit has been reached. I did notice that this problem only happens with my back camera.
Messenger:
When someone talks to me on Facebook, the little chat bubble appears but i can't open it. it comes up and stays for a second or 2 and then goes away. Every time i chat with someone and press the bubble to minimize the chat, the bubble goes away again.
Are these problems that occur often? Can i fix these problems?
Thanks in advance.
Another guy not using the search button, you're flooding XDA with more useless traffic lol.

[Q] Facebook on xperia z3c

Whenever I click on a Name on the facebook the page does not open. The click is registered but the page does not open. The behavior seems random as at times the page opens immediately. Sometimes I have to long press on the name to open the page.
If I click on the pictures icons etc it open immediately.
Not sure this is a problem with the app or with the phone or if it some settings on the app.
Has anyone else faced this problem
Theres nothing wrong with your phone. My friend have a HTC same problem. Its a FB problem. Updates will come
Yeah, I've got the same behavior on my z3c as well. No problems on my N7 or Moto G. Tried the latest apk from apkmirror but that didn't solve the problem.
I gave up using the Facebook app because it's always so buggy and it eats battery. FB fixes one thing and breaks another with every update.
Here, it's the fb messenger app which crashes every couple of messages sent / received or so...

Issues with apps stopping

Has anyone else been having issues with apps stopping on their XZ1C? I've been having trouble with Google Photos and Google Connectivity Services stopping a lot. I've tried the cache clearing and data clearing tricks as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Connectivity Services, but I routinely get the notification pop-up telling me one or the other has stopped or keeps stopping.
Photos seems to be stopping most when I use the app and especially when I try to share a photo via text or email from Photos itself. I don't have an issue if I send a MMS from Messenger.
Google Connectivity Services seems to stop the most when I use the GPS and am on LTE. It does occasionally stop when on WiFi or if going between WiFi and LTE. I question the benefits of even having that app if it stops more than anything. Perhaps it's just an issue with Oreo? I never had issues with apps stopping with my Pixel, but that was running Nougat.
Thanks.
Instagram does crash to me very often. I think they didn't optimized the app very well for Android 8
Edit. War robots just crashed too
I see it time to time too

My Google Photos app started behaving the same way immediately after I shared an album by way of SMS.
I cleared the cache, but that did not work. I reinstalled the app and the crashing stopped, but it has crashed once more the following day, but only one time.
How do you uninstall a core app like Photos? When I tap and hold, it does not give me to ability to uninstall it.
J-san, to the best of my knowledge you can't uninstall it, however if you long press on the app icon, and select App Info, you should be able to disable it. This will uninstall any updates to the app that have occurred since the phone was new.
Thanks much! I'll give that a try.
Nice, I thought I was the only one.

Not receiving notifications

Hey all, I hope somebody can help me out with this. I've noticed this problem with multiple apps but I will continue my description with Whatsapp as it's the most important to me.
It seems to be random, but some (becoming most) times I don't receive any notifications from whatsapp. When i open the app, i can see the app "updating" and receiving all the messages that were sent to me since the previous launch.
I have gone to the battery management and turned whatsapp to manual mode with all 3 options enabled (auto launch, secondary app launch and background usage)
I've also turned on unlimited data restrictions for the app.
I'm still facing the same issue. Anybody else out there facing the same thing with whatsapp or any other app? Any ideas how to fix this?
Same problem messaged Huawei and got a real crap guide on how to fix it . There "fix" was to hard reset the phone which we all know a new phone should work out of the box what good is a hard reset going to do apart from wipe the phone
It could be a network issue. Sometimes when am on wifi every notification comes on time(tested it with my second phone). When i switch on 4g , notification can have a considerable delay. And not only watsapp. Instagram facebook gmail you name it.

Have you try to put out whatsapp from battery optimization apps...
Settings, Apps, Apps, press 4 dots upper right corner, special access (or something like that), exclude whatsapp or any other app from battery optimization
My notfications are working, but sometimes it doesn't play the notification sound for whatsapp. It seems to be random, does anybody know how to fix this?
