[Solved] Disable LTE carrier aggregation / LTE+ - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi,
I'm currently running a custom ROM, but this issue is present on all ROMs I've tested. I don't like the fact the phone switches to LTE+ when browsing web, since it makes signal drop in strength and speed.
Is there any method to force the phone not to use carrier aggregation?

You disable the band that gets agregated, for example if your carrier supports B3+B7 aggregation, you disable B7 and you wont get LTE+
But it's not a good option because if you get to a zone that is covered by the disabled band you wont get LTE

[Q] No 4g in D955?

hey guys i just got my 4g lte sim and i have an unlocked lg g flex d955. Now, I can't find a 4g or lte toggle on my phone. In mobile networks, it's only letting my select either gsm, wcdma or gsm/wcdma. So how to i enable 4g lte on my phone?
thanks
Edit:
ok so I enabled lte via the secret menu using the code in the dialler app and 4g is now working but when i restart, it goes back and i have to enable it from the secret menu again. any way to permanently set this??
Use *#*#info#*#* for network mode
Or Build.prop editing.
Make a nandroid 1st and Use Jrummy Build.prop editor from Google play. U have to be rooted.
Ro.telephony.network =9
thanks for the reply. yes I have used the code to switch to LTE. I am not rooted so cant do build.prop editing. Is there any other method? I'm surprised why 4g lte option is not in settings by default in LG flex :s

[TOOL] [v1.0.6] LTESwitch 2G-Auto-LTE for Nexus5/6

1) You can switch mode by clicking the button in notification : GSM for GSMOnly, AUTO for GSM/LTE Auto; LTE for LTE Only
2) There are some Auto modes : switch to GSM when WiFi connected; switch to GSM if the LTE signal too poor and so on.
You can find the settings in the main activity
App link in Google Play : play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.howui.lteswitch
switch to GSM when WiFi connected... is a nice one
@howui , can you add an option to remove the app from status bar ?
It switches data off and 4gv to 2g very fast but toggle data back on does not work
I have to manualy do this in settings

This feature is not tested enough , so I make it disabled as default

No this feature by now, because that in general WiFi is free and Mobile Data Network is not free
It should take user action to turn on mobile data network
Forgive me for my poor english
no problem with your english bro but maybe you can consider activating mobile data when wifi lost as sometime the user did not notice wifi lost then will have many missed notifications.
thanks for reading
maybe you could ad a timer like when disconnected from wifi wait 60 sec then enable data + 4g
Hi,
Haven't got the chance to test this app but can it:
switch to 2G when connected to wifi
switch to 3G/LTE when wifi get disconnected
but this without enabling/disabling mobile data etc?

I think there's no need to use this option since the phone automatically shuts data connection off when connected to wifi.
Go to settings - about - status - sim status and you'll see that "cellular network state" switches from connected to disconnected, independent from the data switch in the settings.
Other than that, this works perfectly for me. At work I have really bad lte signal but I have wifi, now it goes to 2g and the signal bar goes up automatically.
Can you explain why it needs all these permissions?
And is this open source?
1.0.7 update :
add settings to hide notification

In AndroidManifest.xml of my project ,just one
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" />
I use a apk secure service from Tencent Cloud Service, after encypt my apk, There are more permission request.
I will remove this secure service next version

Hi, FYI : https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/4g-lte-issues-build-prop-edits-fixed-it.57071/
For long time I am not on Android Rom work, so I'm not sure whether it works on nexus6.
The better way I think is set perferred network in android test settings
adb shell am start -n com.android.settings/com.android.settings.TestingSettings

Just in case you do not know it, the carrier that you use, need to support it in general, and the carrier also have to decide that they want to support on that phone model.

Is the menu inaccessible/hidden entirely without carrier support? I can find the shortcut to "Enhanced 4G LTE" by searching the settings menu, but when I try to follow it I end up with the normal network settings (without the Enhanced 4G LTE option)
My phone is the TA-1004 version

*#*#4636#*#* key combo will get you access to enable VOLTE/Video calling over WIFI.
Be careful of what you change.
Hello,
Thanks for sharing that I fo, I know that secret code but don't stay on VoLTE, seems as carrier have to enable that service on sim card, and they make available this services only on Samsung S8, Samsung S8+ and Xiaomi MI6. They are still on test with VoLTE
I think it depend on carrier.
I have two carrier, one doesn't have VoLTE and another have
In Cellular network settings, you can see one have "Enahnced 4G LTE Mode", but another not.

Needs to be carrier enabled

Select correct "Bands" 3G/4G for your country

1) go to settings and enable developer option.
2) go to call settings and type *#*#3646633#*#* (type by hands if copy-paste doesn't work)
3) go to band mode and select your sim
4)Select correct bands according to your country
https://www.frequencycheck.com/countries/
5)reboot phone
B1 B2 B3.. in UMTS it's a count from top
B1 = "Band WCDMA-IMT-2000" etc..
Basically you should lower your power consume and increase signal strength and speed
