Is your back case pushing against your screen protector? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Accessories

Hello.
I currently have this back case I bought in a local shop. -> www[dot]amazon[dot]in/CASSIEY-Hybrid-Armour-Rubber-Bumper/dp/B01MT4B7E9/
Number of people of have told me that some back cases will push against your screen protector. Is this true?
So I'm conflicted whether to buy a tempered glass or just go for a normal screen guard.
There's this screen guard on the Indian Mi site.-> buy[dot]mi[dot]com/in/item/3164700005
Is a tempered glass even required? I like my phones naked but had to buy that back case because I'll be travelling a bit December.
Thank you.

Tempered glass is must imo.
If your phone dropped badly then screen will break and cost of getting it repaired is around 3,000 INR.
Better get a new cover and glass, won't cost more then 500 or max 1000 INR.
I got transparent glass which is not perfect so can't answer the pushing part.
Btw I saw many combos on Ebay with good price.

I have two cases. The rugged one did push against the screen protector and lifted it up in the top right corner. So I switched to another plain back case.
From then on I would only buy back cases made of soft plastics.

I have no screen guard and no back cases. Its been 9 months. I sometimes use transparent case I bought that case at a price of Rs. 50. I dropped it 3-4 times. It has only one single scratch at back and 4-5 minor scratches on screen, you can barely see them unless you look so close to it.
---------- Post added at 02:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:43 PM ----------
I you want go to mi store and buy screen guard and remember it is just a guard not tempered glass. And two types of cases are available soft case and smart flip cover. You can buy these, they are one of the best but little bit pricey.

Best Glass Screen Protector

seen another thread but was impossible to know which one people really liked gonna make it a voting thread if i missed any products send me a pm and ill add them in i tried iloome and i loved the feel of the protector just hate that its not cut to fit precisely has to be placed perfectly
Many kinds of glass screen protectors are made in china and they are different,do not choose the cheaper one, they are worse than normal protectors

Currently I'm using the iLoome Flex 8H
amazon dotcom/gp/product/B00F4AT5Q6/[/url]
With the Spigen Slim Armor
amazon dotcom/gp/product/B00ELMXZSC/
They work well together but in the event of a crash I have no idea the protection they will give. However I can say they feel very nice together. The iLoome feels like real glass, the only thing that has bothered me even a little about the iLoome is the height... It's thin but you can feel the edges they are sharp when you rub your finger across them.. not cut your finger sharp but just there's glass there sharp. As for the case my only issue is the rubber around the screen doesn't come but a half a mm off the glass so if you dropped it... well it'd probably be about like this
utube dotcom/watch?v=MyI0Ge9cnqI
But I'm not gonna test it. Time will tell.
---------- Post added at 07:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 AM ----------
BTW that iLoome 8H is currently only $17 where it's normally $30.
When I put mine on twice I had it off center/ over the rounded edge and I was able to lift it with tape and recenter it with no bubbles or dust getting under. Love it!
Currently using Mime Ghost Glass with a Ballistic SG1233-A065 Shell Gel
Screen coverage between the 2 is near perfect (Ballistic face lip and screen coverage). Very small space betweeen the two but good enough for me with my rough trade and lifestyle. Quick pic below, Note I installed SP slightly off center
Mime Customer Service is awesome. Packaging is great and you get a large screen protector like sticky prep pad to pull all dust etc.. off screen before Glass SP install.
I have had mime in the past for my HTCone and a I purchased one for my son alsnce the SP install failed when installing on my HTCone, was my very first time installing (My faullt rushing) and mime replaced it free of charge no questions asked. I also cracked the SP at work and mime replaced the SP at 40-50% off original price. Dont remember if it was 40 or 50% percent but fair deal either way in my opinion. Before I traded in my One for the LG G2 I had the Mime on for 2 months with zero issues. Mime was the Top SP of choice over in the HTCone forum for durability, feel, looks and Customer service, keep in mind the HTCone was/is a very hot phone with many users participating in the HTCONE XDA accessory forums speaking highly of mime. I am another vouching for Mime, great Glass SP for sure.
I also have the LG WCP-300 Wireless Charging Pad and it works awesome charging with the Ballistic case on. I know a bit off topic but these three items are top notch additions to the G2 in my opinion!! :good:
I've mentioned this in a few other threads as well, but you need to be dead accurate to install the iloome, which is extremely hard. I have it and installed it a little off so it does not cover the entire light up display portion and looks weird. I wouldn't really recommend it due to the fact that you need a surgeon's precision.
Another SP that seems to work out well is the Panzer Glass, but people are having trouble getting it in the states.
I am using the Panzer Glass screen protector with Trident Cyclops case.
I am very happy with both of them !!
I am searching for a good Glass Screen Protector that will cover the entire screen or as most as possible. I have read that iloome is not doing that, so i am trying to find another one.
Any user of the Panzer Glass or the SNP Glass Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector For LG G2 to help on this? Or another glass screen protector to cover good the display?
I'm happy with the iloome ScreenMate Flex + OtterBox Commuter Case for my G2
perfect timing! just got a G2 and been researching accessories all week. just received diztronic clear tpu case yesterday and car mount arriving this weekend. However, I've never been more conflicted about putting a SP on a phone before! The feel of the G2 is unmatched! I've never felt a phone screen so smooth...it's hard for me to want to cover it up, but I also know I'll need to if I want to keep it scratch-free. Which SP feels the most like the glass on the phone?

No Tempered glass protector can cover the entire screen since the curved edges. Im using the glass-m and that protects the entire DISPLAY area, not from edge to edge at screen tho. At first i thought this would suck but you dont think of it really.

[REVIEW]Skinomi Tech Glass -LG G4 Glass Screen Protectors

Skinomi Tech Glass LG G4 Glass Screen Protector
I'm a fan of screen protectors. Almost all of my devices have one. For the LG G4, I've purchased a tempered glass screen protector- Skinomi Tech Glass Screen Protector. The package includes an alcohol swab, dust removal tape and complete set of instructions. The dust removal tape was significantly larger than most I've tried.
Okay the installation was relatively easy. I've actually done this kind of stuff before and so what usually works best is installing it in the bathroom where the humidity is high which reduces those pesky dust and air bubbles. Noticeably, there's like a trimming around the edges ( I guess this was intended to accommodate secondary cases) so it's important to have it aligned properly (sidewise, center, top and bottom).
It literally took 20 minutes for me to get the result to my liking. No bubbles, no lint. It was perfect. I'm hands down to Skinomi Tech Glass screen protector for the LG G4. It was perfect fit, the cut-outs was nice and clean.
If you're looking for heavy duty performance and easy on the pocket (this is currently on sale at Amazon), try Skinomi Tech Glass LG G4 screen protector. I'm curious how it's going to handle impact when I've like drop the device but of course, I wouldn't intentionally subject my device for that. I'm quite confident it's going to work just fine.
P.S.
This is an honest review and may or may not produce same results.

Disappointed
I bought this off of Amazon a few days after buying my G4. According to the product description, it had everything I wanted. Installation was easy (although, I work in IT at the Toledo Jeep plant where I install screen protectors all of the time). It fit the screen wonderfully.
My satisfaction ends there, however. Within a day or two there was a big knick taken out of the edge of the protector. The plastic side bezel that is flush with the Knicks location is completely unaffected. The product description on Amazon says that this protector vastly improves hiding finger smudges. I can say with no hesitation that the smudges have gotten a lot worse since I put this thing on. There is also a blemish that resembles an air bubble in the very bottom right corner. I tried forever to work it out of there. I thought it would go away after a couple of days. After three weeks it is still there. I really do not think it's an air bubble though. It didn't move at all when I was trying to squeegee it out of there. And it is right at the very edge of the screen protector.
My previous phone was a GS3. I never put a screen protector on it in the whole time I owned. There is not one scratch on the screen. From what I have seen, this phone has even better Gorilla Glass. So I am tempted to just go without it.
Screen responsiveness has not been any worse than the screen was without it. Overall, I would say that I am not completely disappointed with it. But, from the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Amazon, I don't think it lives up to those reviews.
The problem with tempered glass is it scratches, it scratches easier than gorilla glass. So while you may save your screen from scratches, you will still be living with even more scratches. I've stuck with a good ole polyurethane, although my g4 seems to be the first one I have ever installed a skin on where so much air moved into a big bubble and that bubble has lasted 2 weeks now. It does seem to be getting smaller (a second air pocket is now mostly gone) but I may need to do a new skin. Usually air/water will still eventually expel itself given enough time.
FWIW, I have tried 4 different glass protectors (not Skinomi), and the best one so far is by Yootech. I am still amazed at how oleophobic this glass is. The cutouts are perfect and it installed easily and correctly first time out. After a couple of months the screen is still not scratched, chipped, or oily. Here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Screen-Protec...keywords=yootech+glass+lg+g4+screen+protector
FYI, I am in no way attached to , employed by, or compensated by Yootech. But if they wanted to send me another screen protector for my LG G4 I would take it!
any glass will get scratches from dust that is part silicate because silicate scratch glass. gorilla isn't the exception at all, they use a layer of oil to reduce friction (that's why you shouldn't clean your phone with anything but a monofiber cloth) so other elements won't be able to scratch it (everyone saw videos of dudes trying to scratch the glass with tools keys and knives but NEVER with some beach sand?) if you clean it with alcohol you remove that protective layer and your gorilla glass becomes a simple tempered glass. idk if continous use will wear off that layer tho

LG G4: Anyone know of a Glass Screen Protector with curvature?

Anyone know of a Glass Screen Protector that follows the curvature of G4's display assembly by default?
Also, I've seen some expensive screen protection that goes over the light sensor & front camera sensor. For anyone who has those, did you encounter any problems using it?
The G4 screen isn't curved. You can get screen protectors off eBay for like £2 which don't cover the light sensor etc. And they're good quality at £2
yootech has always served me well, you can find it on amazon or ebay

The screen assembly follows the curve of a circle with a radius of 3,000mm (or about 118 inches). That means that unless we’re talking about a much larger device – something tablet or even TV-sized – you’re not going to notice the extent of the curvature nearly as much.
LG G4 is just a more subtle variant of LG G Flex.
Also, look. I've already bought a screen protector that is straight. If I place it for application, the gap is obvious. Not adamant about finding a curved one, just curious.

The curve on the phone is so slight that a flat tempered glass screen protector will easily bend to accommodate the curve and not fall off. Here is the screen protector I used on my last LG G4 and just ordered a new one yesterday for my replacement coming in a day.

I really like the Yootech one because it has cutouts for the light sensor and speaker grill up top. It also fits really nicely around the edges leaving almost no extra space.
Any screen protector will the G4 the one I'm currently using is Tech21 love it super durable

I have dropped my phone a few times and know someone else who has the same screen protector as me and theirs only shattered when he dropped a bare phone on straight concrete from above table height. His screen protector shattered, but screen stayed perfect.
Are you getting thin ones for the cheapest you can find? Check out the Yootech one. It is around $8, but has worked the best out of a few different ones I have tried. It also has the best fit with the right openings for the camera, sensors and headset speaker.

Also look at bumper cases. Not the aluminum ones though. They are only a few bucks and give you a little extra protection.
I ise zagg and another company i was giving about 25 bucks for them. Also my screen made it just fine til today. I use a otter box defender as a case.
Im screen shopping rite now i dropped it from about 5 foot rite on a rock lcd and touch is good just shattered outside glass
I'ved used two screen protectors on my G4. Supershieldz $6-7 the other was free from maxxboost. The maxboost one cracked when i dropped the phone face down on office carpet, they replaced it under lifetime warranty no charge. The supershieldz one seems more durable, but thats just a feeling, nothing empirical.. I did not notice the curvature of the screen at all until I ran into this thread, I still don't. Is it curved up or down ?

If phone is laying on its back its curved up. set it on the edge of a counter glas down and youll see that the middle of the glass does not touch the counter unles the counter is warped to.
Hey guys, I am going to buy a G4 tempered glass protector but where I live Yootech is not available so I had to pick an "eProte" one.
It is almost identical to Yootech's one except for the 0.33mm thickness vs yootech's 0.28mm... Do you think it will have any negative impact on screen brightness and/or color accuracy?
Thanks
Shouldnt i had one on my g3
.5mm. And it was decent

Hope it works.
No more of this whitestone loca glue bs

LOL. I don't see why it won't work with an otterbox. It is very case friendly. Fits perfectly with the Ringke Air.
Sorry I don't have any pictures, and I believe its .33mm thick.
My advice: Dont use the installation tray. It seems to place the screen protector about half a mm to the side, which causes bubbles.
Go to your edge lightint setting and take a screen shot with the edge light lit up. Use that as a guide and make sure you get it exactly center side-to-side. Theres a little play vertically so it's not as important.
Use the squeegee to push all the air out of the middle. Then one side at a time GENTLY pry up the edge and use your thumb or finger to push the bubbles on the edge out. My first one took a few tries. I cracked it somehow and got a second one, which installed perfectly the first try without the tray.

They doesn't sell singularity stuff on EU, so me and i guess a lot of other person cannot buy that :/
Ok, so if you have the old Zagg Glass Curve registered for the lifetime warranty, when you request a replacement, the new Elite is one of the no cost replacement option.
You do have to pay shipping ($6 for the Note 8 version and $10 for the S8 Plus version)
But if you happen to already have the original Glass Curve (or can come up with one cheap *cough-Amazon-Warehouse-Deals-cough*), then you can get it replaced with the Elite for just a few bucks. Some have had luck calling Zagg, and they will replace them with no shipping cost.

My thoughts:
I also hate the dot matrix TGSPs. I bought a used one month old Note 8, and the previous owner had one of those TGSPs on it since day one. Some dust had seeped under the TGSP, which is common considering theres only adhesive on the edges. And sensitivity SUCKED.
When I took the TGSP off, one piece of dust had actually etched a spot into the screen from rubbing between the screen glass and the TGSP. So the screen protector caused the damage it was supposed to prevent.
With no full adhesive TGSPs, and the unwillingness to try a LOCA install, I tried a few wet install protectors. The look abd feel GREAT. Until you use the SPen a few times and the TGSP holds every line you draw.
Finally found the Singularity full adhesive TGSP. Love it. Except its $20, and no warranty. The first one lasted about three weeks and got a large chip on the top and cracked. Probably my fault, I set it facedown at the gym. But had to buy a new one.
Now the second one lasted one day before mysteriously developing two hairline cracks in it. Im still using it, but the cracks are there.
So I have spent over $50 in screen protectors on the month I've owned this phone.
With the Zagg Elite, yes its $50. But it's full adhesive and has a lifetime warranty. It costs $6 shipping to replace it if I break it. Thats so much cheaper than any other option out there.
By the way, if you already have the original Zagg Glass Curve, the Elite is an available replacement option for it under the warranty.

I have already checked a different matte case - in about 2-3 months this matt surface will begin to wipe - from the corners. I definitely recommend the MSVII case: https://www.aliexpress.com/af/mi-a2...26012939&origin=n&catId=0&isViewCP=y&jump=afs
The case is durable and perfectly fitted.
I had this company on previous Xiaomi phones and it was always the best choice.
Im using Nillkin Nature TPU.
On the previous Phone Redmi 4x i had MSVII and i do not recommend it becouse he scratched my phone (aluminium back).

The reason for scratching was not the case but the sand that got under it. In this you will have the same if the sand gets in the back part.
I'm using Spigen's Rugged Armor, it's super tight so no dirt/sand/dust between phone and the case. I found it in the other store for circa $14, on the official website is for $20.

@krzygaj I had the MSVII case on my Redmi 4X, after 4-5 months it looked like **** and when my phone fell it broke because the plastic is really thin, delicate and inflexible.
AutoFocus case
Hello,
i bought mine (daynew) on amazon for 5€, its not the best one by far but its getting the job done
Here we go - got ours from Amazaon, shipped free @ $9 USD - click for link
It's a good case with tempered screen protector, worked fine together as a unit - should minimize the odds for scratches, nicks & minor dents ... didn't want to start using the new Mi A2 Lite without a case or cover, until I look around for something better and/or as a spare/extra backup - could probably get something nicer & cheaper from eBay/Gearbest or Ali* - shipping time is longer, so this is a trade-off.
