Need advice for a fast rom - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
so here's the story: last year my Oneplus 1 went swimming so i had to switch to my old N7000 and yeah. since then i'm on my quest looking for an "ok" rom which doesn't freak me out.
First i used the stock rom, switched to unicorn and now i'm on nightowl 7.1.2... But the thing is, the phone lags/is slower than a snail crossing a highway.
So my question is: is there any specific "fast" rom? I have no needs for the lastest features or gimmicks and have only 3 apps installed: 9gag, unified remote and whatsapp...
Have anyone good suggestions? Shall i stay at the newest roms or maybe switch back to an old android 4 version?
Anyway, thanks for reading.

I am looking to update to froyo 2.2 but need help determining which rom to pick. (sick of weighting for the att update)
Things I need working.
1. Bluetooth activated voice commands. (android voice action via BT)
2. Working GPS
3. good battery
4. 3g
5. smooth running
Anyone’s suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you all.

Hi, is very difficult to help you because almost all roms are the same. Some fast, other not so fast but very stable... I've try them all but no one has fullfill my needs. I've been using android since last november (before I use Win Mob on my HTC HD2), right now I'm using axura 2.5, but I've benn having trouble with wifi and since there is no more axura development I have to chose a new one. I hope that samsung will realease soon an oficial upgrade for the captivate, I've always preffer stock's rom's but captivate stock rom is disappointing.
Try Gingerborg 7.5. Very fast, battery lasts very long and quite stable. GPS also locks in pretty good.
This question is asked frequently and its really hard to answer. Its really a matter of preferrence. I-9000 based roms have become very popular due to all the improvements in 2.2.1. I've flashed almost every rom and even though they're all similar there are different advantages to each one. Ex: I ran DG roms for a while and had great performance but very poor battery life. No matter what I did my battery was terrible. Darky's ROM worked great but gave me a sim error multiple times. I decided to stick with Cezar's ROM and I think this is my new permanent ROM. I really like the level of support he offers and all his ROM's are designed for his personal use and they're extremely well put together. I've been on his ROMs for over a month and I have never had issues and battery life is AWESOME. Nothing wrong with other roms bur to put it simply when I flash Cezar's I feel like I'm shopping at wholefoods. Flashing everything else I get a Walmart experience
You want a worry free, fast, stable rom with great battery life flash cezar's. If you like to trouble shoot and experiment try all others. I'm in no way affiliated with Cezar. I just happen to be a huge fan of his work! Hope that helps.
Ps. I'm on Continuum Se all R tweaks enabled. 2 1/2h non stop internet browsing and downloading and I'm sitting and 75% battery. That's UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

What works for my phone may not work as great on your phone. I recommend you try many ROMs, only then will you know what truly works well for your phone.
And i think you posted at the wrong place. haha...
Without a doubt I would say the latest cognition rom available. I flash roms quite often and without a doubt I would say that the latest cognition has been.my.smoothest froyo experience yet.

ROM virgin here... help to gain some experience ;)

Well, if this title won't catch peoples attention, I don't know what else to do...
Having been running Sprint stock 6.5 for 8 mos (3 last months with Titanium), I finally decided to bite the bullet and try a custom ROM.
I installed Mike's ROM of 6/20/2010 since a lot of people mentioned it as the stable and noob-friendly. I used it for a day and now I hate Sense even more then ever - it's just a tad faster with this ROM but still a lagger.
So, I am even more than ever set on using a Titanium-based ROM. What I am looking for first and foremost is speed and stability.
What should I try ? People suggested Vin ROMs but all his latest ones seem to be Sense-based. Should I just stay with Mighty (switched to Titanium) ? Is there a "top 5" list of Titanium ROMs for Sprint ?
I just installed energy rom for the first custom rom last week and I love it. So many things are better, and it's not been a minute's trouble.

Anyone Else Still Using BlackCNA?

I posted a thread here when I first got my Note not that long ago asking which rom was the best for gaming. Someone said BlackCNA. I've since ping-ponged between many different roms including the latest JB leaks. There are things I love about all of them and things I will miss about them but today I went back to BlackCNA and after debloating it and installing an ancient version of the Kernel That Shall Not Be Named I have discovered that, yes, it is still the THE fastest rom for gaming. Need for Speed Most Wanted with all effects enabled and The Dark Knight Rises both just fly by on this thing. The newest CM10 roms do wel with it too, but they aren't quite as fast ... so any of you in my shoes, want a rom primarily for gaming .... try BlackCNA!
It's a very good rom

Cyano vs overdrive

I have been a overdrive user since day one I have loved his rom and followed every update I have also use cyano for extended periods of time I really can't decide which one I like better I'm looking for the most stable and most efficient rom what are your opinions I'm reaching out to the community and I want to see what you guys think I've had my issues with cyano in the past and I'm hesitant to jump on 12.1 and with the possibility of 13 coming out I want to get some feedback

best rom for tmobile?

good afternoon everybody, I am in the relearning process of rooted phones. the last phone I have rooted was the htc hero on cyanogenmod 7 with clockworkmod recovery. I have always loved CyanogenMod ROM and appreciate very much the time and effort the team has put for this amazing rom. I have recently traded in my iPhone 6s for the note 4. I am currently using 5.1.1 Resurrection ROM with the latest twrp. I was wondering if there are any ROMs that is better than the one i currently have. I tried out cm remix 13 which is the only ROM that has 6.0 marshmallow but it is not a driver and have a lot of connection problems. Also, I noticed that the device does not have fast charging capabilities once the device is rooted , is there any way to fix that? I normally go from 0-100 is 2 hours but now it takes longer?

My phone fast charges just fine and I rooted it a month after buying. I do use stock based ROMs, so that may contribute.
Ovrdrive is a good ROM with great features that is very frequently updated, but that's also a problem for me. New releases fix bugs, but often introduce new ones, and the cycle continues. I prefer something more stable for my daily driver. But if you like the cutting edge, it may suit you just fine.
I recently switched to Abstrk Rom and like it's balance of features/stability much better.
No best rom threads.
What is best for one person may not be for someone else...so it's a never ending story and in some cases it ignites flame wars. My best advice, try a couple and make your own judgement.
On that note, thread closed.
