Need to get to Developer Options - Acer Iconia One 8

Hi all. Got a bit of a problem. I have a Iconia B1-850 that I lent to my nephew. He has synced it to a google account, reset the tablet (I don't know why) and forgotten the password. No biggy. I can get to the build number in about quite easily. However, regardless of how many times I press build number, I am unable to get the developer options up. I know once I get it how to procede but at this point I am stuck. The tablet has Lollipop 5.1 with a build nuber of Acer_AV0L0_B1-850_E.003.00_WW_GEN1. The image version is: Acer_AV0L0_B1-850_RV0ERC02_WW_GEN1. Security Patch Level is:- 2016-12-05
Any help in getting to the Developer Options is greatfully received.
Marc

Anyone??
Anyone got any ideas? Or another thought, can I reflash the firmware and will that bypass the FRP or give me the developer options?

Stuck at Gmail verification

Hello
I have been running official android m on my Nexus 6 with unlocked bootloader. I just used Nexusroottoolkit to flash the official android n factory image and then I locked my bootloader. Now when I boot I have to verify my gmail to use my phone. And I have no idea what gmail adress I used. I haven't changed the password on the gmail I used. What should I do?
Remember your email address. Because when you locked the bootloader - a foolish thing to do - factory reset protection kicks in. Unless you can recall which account you used you'll be locked out of the device.
Is there nothing I can do?
Find a way to bypass FRP.

When making a new Google account the system will check the username.
Do not activate a new name, but try to find an existing name. Maybe it helps to remember your forgotten Gmail account.
Some people remember things with the help of a hypnotist ?.
Don;t give up remembering.
Thanks for the replies!
I will never remember the gmail i used, it was a random mix of numbers and letters
I have got into the phone and I can install apk's but there are no methods to get rid of the FRP on android 7.0 yet. (security patch October 5)
Is it possible to sideload the stock 6.0.1 image from the stock recovery?
Or is the only option to replace the mainboard?
If you're in, turn on OEM Unlock in developer options and then unlock the bootloader. This time, leave it unlocked and keep OEM Unlock turned on!
Doing those two things will ensure FRP doesn't bite you in the ass. And next time, use an email address you can remember.
I can't enable developer settings
It doesn't happen anything when I tap the buildnumber

Try navigating to devices.android.com and see which Gmail account lists your N6.

Great idea! It would defiently help if I would find the Gmail account since I know the password for it. Where do I find devices.android.com? I didn't find it in Android/data

black screen asking for password to start device

Hey, all; Apologies, if this has been posted before, but I cannot seem to find this partilular issue. I had purchased my new T813, off a retailer on ebay, they indicated it was a store return, and had the google frp lock. I managed to easily bypass the frp in a Tab E, so I figured (quite incorrectly) that this would also be a no brainer... not so!
I have tried flashing several firmwares, (got one from Russia that seemed to work okay, but still had google frp. I put the earliest firmware I could find on it; "T813XXU1APD7_T813XAR1APD8_HOME.tar.md5" It failed, and I was stuck on download mode, and would only reset, using the Vol down/home/pwr buttons, only to reboot to a green screen, stating; "firmware update failed" (on the tablet, and the red failure in Odin). I could not get the flash to work, 4 times, and was worried about the tablet running out of battery, so I flashed (not knowing what the hell I was doing (how many readily admit that?) I flashed a 20mb file called; "BL_T813XXU2APK6_CL9829844_QB11715585_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" and the tablet was able to boot, past the Samsung flashscreen, but loaded up to a black screen stating; "enter password... to power on, or something like that" Does anyone know what the password is? I can't remember where I got this, there's so much scattered around the web, I was just reaching for anything... any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's what I'd say also. Return to seller.
In order to bypass FRP, you have to downgrade the firmware to the lowest possible build as it doesn't have any patch to fix security holes.
Like mine, SM-P580, I had to flash Hong Kong firmware to bypass FRP as it's older build than US version. As long as you can downgrade firmware, bypass FRP is easy. I have done it within 3 minutes.
Power + Volume Down will force your tablet to restart. When you can get to Download Mode, try to flash a new an older firmware again, regardless region . If you can downgrade firmware, your chance is 100%. A build that forces you to have internet connection in order to continue until it get Google account verification is a build that need to downgrade. Older build allows to continue setup after Software Update check failure due to disconnected internet. The latest builds will lock attempt to downgrade so don't flash any new builds . I experiment with the latest build of Android 6 and Android 7, they do the same thing: check software revision and lock downgrade if a lower one is detected. I can downgrade Android 7 to Android 6 as long as that build has security patches which lock FRP bypass.
This users did it by downgrade from T813XXU2APK6 to T813XXU1APF4

The last 3 characters of a build is the date of release
PF4
P=16 or 2016
F= 6 or June
PF4 means version 4, released on June 2016

Not necessary to be stolen. I bought mine without password or PIN, but forgot to remove the owner's Google account when flashing new firmware.
It activated FRP but I was able to bypass it to use the tablet.
First thing to do when buying second hand: factory data reset.
Everything else is stolen goods.

Nexus 6 locked T-Mobile demo

I recently had to replace the motherboard on my Nexus 6. I could only find refurbished ones, and bought one on AliExpress, with item description clearly specifying as unlock. I installed it, and it appears it is actually locked status 2. Looks like demo version used in T-Mobile retail network. Some settings inaccessible u such as developer mode or Apps. Trying to get refund but both AliExpress and the vendor are in denial mode.
I have 7.0, NBD92G installed. Very hard to unlock as I cannot access developer mode to allow usb debug. Pressing build nr several times won't help. I get message "you're already a developer" but actually usb debug does not work.
Anybody can help?
Go download factory image from Google and flash it manually by using the command prompt.
@ShernDog: He can't as his bootloader is locked. He can however download an OTA and sideload it.

Thanks. You are right, bootloader is locked too. Would there be any instructions somewhere on your proposed solution (sorry I am rather inexperienced user).

I think I figured out how to do this but the other question is whether I won't be stuck afterwards being requested to enter the only registered user's login which I do not have (I cannot register a second user, as this setting screen is locked too). Do I need to sideload the OTA corresponding to current version / build or can I sideload an older one?
Download the oldest OTA available, as long as it is a full system OTA (easily detectable by size). You're going to have to bypass Factory Reset Protection to be able to resolve this, and the older the OTA, the better.
If this doesn't work, you're going to have to fight with the place you got the motherboard from, and file a chargeback with your credit card company if need be.
Ultimately I can go for the refund, but there is no place where I can find 64 GB MBs outside China, which means I'll have to wait again for something like 3 weeks with poor backup device, and with no certainty I don't receive again a locked MB.
I tried with 6.0 OTAs (page with instructions I followed: https://developers.google.com/android/ota#shamu) and even with just older versions of 7.0, I got every time abortion after about 45% installation, with the msg that I cannot update with older versions.
I am a bit confused now, I just tried to install same build as what I had installed (https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/shamu-ota-nbd92g-2b65257b.zip), it worked but it looks like absolutely nothing has changed on my phone. I thought it would have erased pretty much everything. Am I missing something?
OTA updates don't wipe system. That's why nothing changed.
Ultimately, I think you're going to have to go for the refund and take the risk that the next motherboard you get is going to be locked. Unless the version of Android you're on can have its FRP bypassed - and I don't think it can - you're stuck.
Thanks, bad news. Would it be worth trying wipe data / factory reset accessible from the recovery mode + power/volume up menu ?
You can try it, but it won't help. Doing a factory reset will cause Factory Reset Protection to kick in, meaning you'd need to know the original owner's account information.
Surprisingly it worked. I could log in with the google account I used before the reset. Everything works, but indeed I was expecting some more difficulties
@FYBRU: This is one of those times where I'm pleased to be wrong. LOL.
Glad you got it resolved.

Couldn't verify. Wait a minute or two

Hi, im not a really new user of santoni. But i have being frustated because that i cant unlock my device bootloader since last year. The main problem seems i cant bound/add my device into settings-development-mi unlock status, it always say COULDNT VERIFY. WAIT A MINUTE OR TWO. So when i insist to unlock it via mi unlock tools, it always fails at 99% and say CURRENT ACCOUNT NOT BOUND... i have my unlock permission since january. And i think, for now, unlock permission didnt required anymore
I have tried to enable find device, remove account, reset, recovery flash update. accessing i.mi.com
i have searching all around websites
but no luck.
Im using stable latest ROM 9.5.10.0 NAMMIFD nougat 7.1.2
Really, i want to migrate into dev version. Or even a custom ROM such as LOS or else.
miflash tools are useless because my device still locked. I cant do more.
Really, i need help from this forum to figure it out. Maybe there are people that having problem same as me. :crying:
PS : My fingerprint doesnt work too. it said couldnt add fingerprint, and sometimes a small pop up shown said : FIND DEVICE STORAGE CORRUPTED. YOUR DEVICE UNSAFE NOW. i think its because at the first time i having this, im bypassing micloud. ( I buy this phone secondhand. And previous owner seems forgot to sign out and reset this device. so i try to bypass micloud screen ) since that, the issues and popup come. IPlease help me

Google Pixel 5 downgrade to install /e/os

Hi,
for my Google Pixel 5 I want /e/os/.
Two instructions how to accomplish this. To flash /e/os onto a Google Pixel 5, the smartphone need to have Android 12.
My Google Pixel 5 has Android 13 (I received a New Old Stock device in a unopened box with Android 13. So no tinkering
beforehand.)
I found this archive of Android 12 images - all for the Google Pixel 5 and all Android 12:
Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers
developers.google.com
How can I determine and choose the correct image to flash?
Cheers!
Etymotics
12.1.0 (SQ3A.220705.003.A1, Jul 2022) is going to be the latest android 12 build which should be compatible.
Hi noidea24,
thank you for your post and the information. That helps me a lot - I was confused by the shear amount of images.
Do you know a thread which may have the things I want to achieve as topic ? I tried to search with keywords
like "Google Pixel 5 /e/os" and similiar, but it looks like the search found all threads containing GOOGLE *and* all threads with PIXEL *and* all....and so forth. I would need a second search engine to skim through the results...\
Cheers!

What are you looking for specifically? There's not really much info on e/os on the pixel 5. It works well, but the development is slow. Why e/os over similar projects with updated android versions like Graphene, Calyx, Copperhead?
e/os is not daily drivable, recommend not to install.
e/os was recommended to me by Marcel Bokhorst, the author of XPrivacy.
But as it seems, I had bad luck with the phone I bought:
The "OEM unlock" is greyed out and I know of no way to unlock the bootloader.
It currently runs on Android13 and last update was Dec. '22.
My intention behind all this was to have a de-googled phone because I [CENSORED] this
tracking and spying and "owning" a device, which I cannot control to 100%.
Anything else I can do to achieve this?
PS: My phone may be is one of these [CENSORED] Verizon devices. It was originally packaged
and as it seems never used before...
Where did you buy your phone? Ebay? A retailer?
Is there a keyword "Locked" or "Unlocked" anywhere on the website?
If the product listing didn't mention anything about it being carrier locked, I suggest requesting a refund or a replacement.
The "OEM Unlock" greyed-out is most definitely due to it being a carrier locked device and you're out of luck.
Also, if you truly want a de-googled OS, I recommend Graphene OS. https://grapheneos.org/

Not to give you false hope but did you connect to wifi on your first time through setup? If you don't, OEM unlock will be greyed out, regardless.
Hi Alex,
(NOT meant as any form of criticism or complaint... )
...I am a little confused here.
Other posts (not necessarily on this forum...can't remember) say: "Pull out the simcard, disable Wifi and DON'T contact anything, only skip through the setup..."
At the moment I only have a simcard of the wrong size...but I enabled Wifi but did not update anything in fear of getting an even stronger patch to disable any form of tinkering.
But as I am still having a locked "OEM unlocking" and a locked bootloader I am open for any kind of tinkering to get
this damn thing freed.
Would these steps ok:
Start the phone,
Setup lockscreen, dark theme, etc..
enable Wifi and download all updates, install updates
Ok? Or what would you suggest?
Cheers!

If you're not going to lose data or your not afraid of it, I would:
Factory reset without sim card in
When phone reboots, start setup
Don't put sim in but do connect to wifi
Skip through setup if you want and check if oem unlock is available
I'm not sure of the instructions you have, maybe that's what people believe for Verizon phones but you're not sure if you have one, correct?
Here's my experience:
I have several pixels, all unlocked. If I flash back to stock firmware and skip through setup without connecting to wifi, OEM unlock is greyed out. If I connect wifi on the first time through, it's available.
I've also heard this in tech videos. However, it won't work with Verizon phones. But if yours isn't Verizon, this could be the reason you're not able to unlock.
Hi Alex,
thank you for all your help! By the way: Are there any definite proofs for "my smartphone is a Verizon one" ?
I will try what you wrote and will be back with the result.
Two things came into my mind:
- Shall I install updates/upgrades if offered?
- Would downgrading (if even possible) via Chrome and the "Flash" feature on the Google page with all these images help, if I have a Verizon jail?
Cheers!

There may be a way but I'm not entirely sure, perhaps Google well help. I do seem to remember something about the IEMI but that may have been older models.
I wouldn't upgrade anything after setup and it shouldn't offer anything during.
As far as I know, downgrading won't help but I don't think you could from the Google page, as it requires an unlocked bootloader
Hi Alex,
I will try, what you wrote without updating anything ... will be back then...
Hi Alex,
no...unfortunately it does not help to connect to wifi...the "OEM unlock" is still grayed out.
Now....I wanted a de-googled phone to keep my privacy...instead I got a phone which is the
exact opposite. Unfortunately the cost of that thing remains the same...
Anything else, I can try?
Cheers!

Last week-end, i was abble to downgrade a Pixel 5 from A13 to A12 following this page
Navigate this article:
Downgrading your Google Pixel smartphone to stable Android version
Method 1: Leave the beta program
Method 2: Manual downgrade
Using Android Flash Tool
Using Fastboot
choose method 2 : fastboot (at the end of the article)
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...rom-beta-developer-preview-to-stable-android/
and install e-1.10-s-20230412278810-stable-redfin according to the official instructions https://doc.e.foundation/devices/redfin/install
Hi Piero-e
That sounds very interesting. Did you unlock your bootloader before starting the procedure?
Did you change the bootloader of you device to another one?
Cheers!
Etymotics
Yes, i first unlock the bootloader (using the WiFi connection to another phone)
And flash bootloader and modem,
Then unfortunately my computer don't find the flash-all command, so I used the Gogol online tool to flash the others partitions
