Original touchscreen replacement? - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

I recently broke my screen, even though the touch still works, I want to change the front panel. The problem is I cannot send it to motorola because they dont have the service in my country. So where can I buy a replacement screen for my phone? I have seen a few on ebay and AliExpress and they dont even have the moto logo on it, which means its a duplicate and I will not get the quality of the original display. Please help a way out for me. I haven't even used the phone for a week by now!

[Q] What Screen is for Milestone!! [Q]

Hey friends How are u!!..
"Idiotly", I have broken my screen.. and I live in Vzla so, here these screen are being sold very expensive. So I am thinking of buing it at amazon in a very low price (comparing).
The problem is that the only screen for sale is one that says: "LCD Screen Display for Motorola A955 Droid 2 Milestone / A855 Droid Milestone".. I am almost sure and ready to buy it, but this is not enough. Its necessary a safe opinion.. So, does this screen works on my Milestone A853??. I would go crazy if, when it arrives, I get know that this is not the correct one..
So thank u very much and sorry for lots of words hehe.. Im practicing my English..
well you should just visit a local service center and ask about the screen replacement first.
Buying first and then what? I assume you're not going to DIY this yourself and still need someone to do it right? Then first find the person who's able to do it! not vice versa
Sure, thanks for the suggestion..
But well I already know this is the right one. I compared the codes printed in the back side of my screen with the ones printed in the screen shown in the sale photo. And I do this kind of reparations, this is not a problem.
Thanks friend.

compatibility....?

hi my friends!
i found a mainboard replacement for my GT-N7000...
my phone is white, the replacement phone is black.
i can use everything from the black one, both are 16Gb edition, both GT-N7000 model...
my question is: is there any chance that the mainboard from the replacement phone not to work into my own?
help me!
If your pretty much sure 100% that the replacement phone (which is black) is for the international unlock N7000 one.. then I'm pretty much sure also that the motherboard of that will and is 100% compatible with your white Gnote.
Aesthetically. the only diff between your white one and the replacement one is the colors of their casing... but other than that... I'm sure internally all are one and the same
the replacemetnt phone which is black has the screen broken, but if you call it it rings, but no can answer or anything, as the screen is broken.
is a GT-N7000 unlocked phone... my fear is that chance of incompatibility of that mainboard on my phone (which all is good except the mainboard...)
if the only problem on the black replacement one is the broken screen itself... then I'd say the motherboard of that is really compatible with your white Note.
By the way, where are you buying the replacement? if it's on Ebay, just a word of caution... don't rely too much on what the seller has to say... who knows.. some says that it's only the screen itself that is broken... but when you finally receive that unit... there might be something more to it that is broken.. you'll never know...
just a piece of advice....
no, not ebay...
just a guy has it and i found it on one of locally forums.
i see it and tested personally the black Note (replacement) and beside the broken screen, i was able to call the phone and it rings, vibrates, but i can't do nothing because of the broken screen.

then u should change the screen. otherwise with "cannot do anything" on your notes is equal to not owning notes.
no, you did not read the whole topic....

then, if you trust your instincts then go for it.. Again let me reassure you... there's no difference between the white and the black N7000s... only the color of their casings.. other than that.. internally, they're all the same.
thank you, i really hope you are right...
maybe i will have my Note back...

Need help with moto X screen issue

Greetings form Greece,
Need your help
After several weeks of waiting my moto X came today form US. Was so happy to have such a unique custom device!!
Once i got it from my US based friend I entred my local carrier shop to get a nano-sim, opened the box and inserted the sim to get moto X woriking.
Seconds after I left the shop the phone accidentaly fell to the pavement. I saw two small dents in the side corners and got really sad I did this to my new device.
However soon i realized that the problem was much bigger. My screen went totaly black!
There is no sign of damage or anything, just a small dent in the plastic bezel.
I am sure the phone is working, I hear sounds of booting and shutting down and I feel vibrations from the the digitizer touch.
The screen shows only some green pixels on the botom right corner.
I am really sad
Do i need a new screen or it is smth with a cable connection?
Is it reasonable for the device to be ruined form a 2 feet drop?
I am will not find any spare parts in Greece/Europe. Shall I send to my local Motorola service repair to check?
Any other memeber with similar issues.?
Please help!
go to motorola tech service, is the only solution, you need a new screen, or a new phone
Well, I feel bad for you, but you need to change either the screen or the entire phone.
Sent from my XT1058 using xda app-developers app
I dropped my moto twice and screen is fine
I went today to the Greek local moto repair center,
First time they saw such device, they thought it is moto G.
Awaiting a call if it is a full LCD or a cable maybe. they have no idea if Motorola will provide parts.
If it is a full LCD, how easy is for me to find the part?
I have seen some lcd parts quoting around $250, (nearly the price of the device).
It is a lovely phone, in case i don't find a solution in my country shalll i try to send it to US for repair?
is anybody willing to order and send me overseas a new?
local moto cannot do anything due to lack of spare parts.
any ideas where to get an or original screen?

My wife's z3 compact top half of screen touch problem

All
I bought my wife this lovely phone in November last year. Within a week she cracked the back glass. So i bought her a new case for it. In the last month she's managed to crack the front but only the bottom right. Everything has been working but as of a few days ago the top half of the phone is unresponsive to touch. Which basically makes the phone a nightmare to use. I've search the web and one guy had the same problem on you tube but didn't mention a way of fixing it. Any one else had this problem and knows a way to fix it?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

You might want to see this thread. If your wife was sure she didn't crack it by dropping it or something else, then you may be able to return her phone to Sony for warranty and get it fixed.
If it was her fault, well, you need to send it to Sony and pay for the damages/repairs, go to a local store (or online if you want) and have someone fix the screen, or order a screen online and fix it yourself if you so wish.
Either way the phone is out of commission until you get it fixed. Go back to the store she bought it from and ask if they can do a warranty repair.
The best indicator on if the phone is viable for warranty is to look at the cracks - if it's one line, it was a manufacturer defect. If it branches out into multiple cracks (known as a spider web crack') you most likely wont get warranty repairs for it.
There's nothing you can really do otherwise. I had this same issue on my Xperia Z, it was either pay 250$ for a repair or buy a new one... I just bought the Z3C to upgrade.
There's no magical application that will fix your screen's responsiveness since it sounds like she damaged the touchscreen.

Broken Screen

I couldn't find another topic regarding broken screen so decided to make this one.
Yesterday I broke my screen . The phone is working, but the screen not at all. Several phone repair shops offered me to fix it for 85-110 pounds. Does it worth it ? A friend of mine said to me that the replaceable screens are not as good as the original ones. If that's the case any idea how much can I get for it if I sell it like that with the broken screen? Best offer I saw was with EE recycle for 60 pounds... Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Well i think its better for a professional to replace the screen, but you can tried it yourself if you know how. You can get parts really cheap and there are a lot of videos on yt on how to do it. But still I would rather let a professional fix it
