"Soft" bricked LOCKED phone. Recoverable? - P8 Lite (2017) Discussion

I got a new P8 lite 2017 (PRA-LX1) and the firmware was a Vodacom South Africa, not sure about exact version but it's a C02. I installed Firmware Finder and tried to download a C432 firmware, open Europe I think. The download started and then got stuck with "unstable network", I went to bed.
Next day the battery was flat and the phone wouldn't boot. Looks like the firmware download somehow finished while I was sleeping and then the phone got suck in a boot loop and drained the battery.
Booting with volume up + power doesn't work. I see the Huawei logo, then Vodacom logo, then nothing and it reboots into eRecovery.
In eRecovery it connects to my WiFi and tries to download but ends with "Getting package info failed"
fastboot works but the phone is still locked so I get "command not allowed" when I try to flash any partition.
Recovery from sd card (update.app in dload folder) ends with "Software install failed". I tried with PRA-LX1C02B150 and PRA-LX1C02B151 which should be a Vodacom firmware, my desktop Firmware Finder can't find a C432 firmware.
Can I recover from this?

P9 Bricked - Boot loop please help

Hi all,
I am facing severe problems with my P9.
Initial Situation:
Started with a brand new P9 with T-Mobile cust Firmware C150
What I did:
I unlocked bootloader successfully and rooted the phone. Then changed OEM info from C150 to C432. So far so good.
After that P9 booted into factory restore and restored itself into C900 Firmware. Bootloader was locked after that.
I unlocked bootloader successfully for a 2nd time.
Current Situation:
Now when I boot the phone it says: "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" .... Your device is booting now... => But it never boots into OS. It stucks here forever.
When I press vol up and down and power for some seconds I can at least access TWRP. When I try to reboot in TRWP it says "No OS Installed".
But how can I do a stock recovery or install a working Android OS in order to get the P9 into normal boot Modus again?
Please help me.
Solution summary:
Issue solved by using the dload method to change to C432B182:

If u have a sd card u can put it in another phone if u have and create a dlod folder, put the Firmware u need in it and then switch it to your P9 and try to upgrade. Since your phone is C900 i think something went wrong in the debranding so use a full stock C150 firmware or try with this B136 Firmware with dt and hw folder toghether with update.app in dload folder.

Sent from my VIE-L29 using XDA Labs
@panosm763: Thx for the Video link. I worked according to the same but after changing OEM info phone booted with red warning Screen and installed a fresh C900 Firmware Version. Then after opening bootloader again, SRK Tool cannot connect to the phone anymore maybe due to the fact that usb Debugging mode is not turned on (and cannot be turned on because OS is not reachable)
@Mostar088: I tried the dload method yesterday with the Firmware from the link you shared. Unfortunately without success. The phone did not recognize the Firmware and did not load the same. Maybe because bootloader is still open? I have no clue why this method is not working
Issue was solved.
It worked out fine using the dload method described in here:

I am now on C432B182 :good:

VIE-L09 Can't get out of eRecovery

Hi guys I have a problem. I tried to upgrade my p9 plus manually with an ota update.
I had VIE-L09ITAC555B130 and I tried to install VIE-L09ITAC555B360 to get emui 5.0. The updater wasn't able to complete the download so I tried manually. B360 is split in two files (I don't know why, this is my first Huawei), I tried the first but at 30/40% I got an error, then I tried the second update.app and now my phone boot in eRecovery mode.
I can also boot in fastboot mode but my bootloader is locked and I can't get the product ID.
I also tried to install B130 again but it didn't complete the process. I don't know what to do anymore, some suggestion?
Sorry if my english is pretty bad...

soft bricked EVA-L09?

Help Please.......
So I've owned sammy devices before in the past and never been afraid to flash custom kernels/roms etc on them. Since the p9 was the first Huawei device I've owned i was a little scared to flash it. But it got too much for me and i tried, and fail Now i have a P9 that doesn't work and a very upset wife because I've killed my phone.
So what i did was tried to flash via dload 3 button method a nougat fw (official)but had no camera/file manager/calendar etc. Found it was possible to downgrade via flashing a downgrade fw. I cant remember what nougat fw i tried to flash but in the about device the build number was nrd10testkeys or something like that. My official fw before was EVA-L09C706B145. After flashing the downgrade fw my phone rebooted and just hung at the Huawei boot splash screen. All i can do now is access fastboot by holding vol - while plugging in usb. I cant access recovery/cant boot past Huawei splash screen. I have tried fastboot flashing via adb but it fails due to permission error (thinking because of locked bootloader?) Have tried using Huawei updater with hisuite to recover device, download, unpacks and installs recovery to 99%then fails. Pleaee help me fix my phone so i can get back into the goodbooks with the wife.......

Softbrick P9 Plus

Hello folks,
so a friend of mine is a complete noob and have this problem with his p9 plus.
The phone keeps rebooting itself in an endless loop, i can't access recovery and only when plugged in to the PC i can access fast-boot.
Phone is locked, FRP Lock.
With getvar command i managed to get this info:
rescue_phoneinfo: VIE-L09C113B170
seems that there is no full zip of this rom anywhere just partial ota (found those with firmware finder) but even with that when i try to flash recovery i get command not allowed.
On the fastboot screen of the phone i have this reboot reason AP_S_PANIC
anyone knows a how to get the phone out of this? (i was thinking that maybe unlocking the bootloader could be of any use, but in the request page it's needed the Product_ID and i don't have it. (can't *#*#1357946#*#*)
I don't know if it does work in a locked bootloader.
I have my P9+ for a week and maybe if you download a firmware compatible with your version and try to 'hard' update the phone, using a SD card with a update file on a dload folder and restarting the phone pressing VolUp + VolDown +Pwr, you can restore your friend's phone.
I'm sorry if I didn't help, I am myself stucked trying to rollback my version to MM and have the NFC and the Bluetooth working again...
myself also got this problem..please anyone..

Locked Bootloader should not be a problem for DLOAD, but I doubt if your b399 is applicable for DLOAD - for DLOAD it should be FullOTA-MFPV, not just FullOTA-MF.
And the problem is that newer packages are no more PV distributions
Have you tried Factory Reset and Clear Cache from Recovery or eRecovery?
Connect the switched off phone to the charger and switch it on by pressing and keeping pressed Vol+, and by pressing Pow.
Phone will boot to eRecovery.
Choose Install Latest version and Recovery to reinstall the whole firmware - you must have WLAN connection that eRecovery can download from.
Follow by Factory Reset from eRecovery and Clear Cache.
There should be also an option in HiSuite on the PC to force reinstallation of the firmware (sorry, I didn't try, not using HiSuite)
Firmware can be also (re)installed from Firmware Finder, but it requires changing the DNS server on your home WLAN.
Btw, c432 means the pan-European cust, hence you may even go with the newer b504/b505 but eRecovery method will not offer them to you.
There are other methods, HWOTA/HWOTA7 to (re)install FullOTA-MF firmware which is not PV (only PV is applicable for DLOAD), but they require the unlocked Bootloader
PS: If eRecovery reinstallation fails, then you can install the following EVA-L19c432b399 package by DLOAD:
https://androidhost.ru/6se
When you download, you have to unzip, there are might be further zipped or archived folders.
Eventually you will find a Documentation folder with the guides for installation (this is internal Huawei package for service repair) and Software folder that must contain the usual three ZIP installation files.
Those three ZIP files (do not unzip them) are applicable for DLOAD - indeed, in the Installation guide in the Software folder, DLOAD installation must be described.
(I didn't try this particular L19c432b399 package but I tried for DLOAD and it worked two other service restore packages from the same source, and they had the Documentation/Software structure as described)
You made my day
I don't know about eRecovery and this method solve my problem. Bluetooth work great, camera and much more app come back
Thanks for you help
