[AUDIO-MOD][Volume-GAIN][BETA]-Root Needed - Huawei Mate 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi everyone,
I want to share my initial audio mod for this lovely huawei phone
BACKGROUND :
As all we know that this phone sporting dual output out of the box, using its earpiece as second speaker,
Am glad that huawei add this feature so that we dont have to tinker much on how to do it by ourself
Unfortunately, i feel that the output power from the earpiece is still quite underwhelming, and when used in landscape orientation, the balance is not that good,
Thus i try to modify the default volume curve to increase the gain of the earpiece speaker.
HOW TO INSTALL :
- 1st, you definitely need ROOT to do this
- If your device ROOTED already, simply download the attached file,
- Use your favorite Root File Explorer, copy the file to /system/vendor/etc (backup the original file, just in case you want to revert)
- Change its permission to 644
- Reboot your phone
ENJOY :fingers-crossed:
NOTE : This is initial beta version. Extra gain which theoritically can be achieved using this file is around 4dB or 400 milibels. Please let me know how is the experience on your phone.

Hi Otonieru
since you have root on your phone, can you provide step by step manual for us, in separate thread maybe? only if you have time and you do not mind. cheers

Have you heard any distortion or anything weird coming from the earpiece speaker at full volume after using your mod ?
This might be enough to make me root my phone.

Safe

To begin with, this phone output is not that good when set to maximum volume,
In default condition, even the bottom speaker distort a lil on max volume,
and that become one of the reason for me to do this mod,
So i can keep the volume level around 80-90% while still enjoying the best output possible from the top earpiece

hi @otonieru thanks for the rooting method guide. successfully rooted my mate10 and gonna try the volume mod later today. i dont think we need working twrp to install viper, because i recently installed viper for my car HU via adb and everything is functioning well. but that is on an older version of android and last i checked viper is not working on oreo yet.

No you can't..... At least not without unlocking bootloader and flashing it by fast boot.... And yes people aren't interested due to LACK OF NFC
How do I flash this if I am rooted? Will I need to wipe?
Also is it supposed to work with ALE-L21? What could happen if I update an unlocked phone with this ROM?

NFC is OFF, and I can`t enable it. You can change ringtones and notification sound. I use Zedge apk for that. Themes app and file manager apk aren`t in this rom. I dload original huawei apk from this post

Ok guys, rookie question. I can only install this by flashing it right? Because i tried to put the UPDATE.APP file into the dload, the usual stuff you do for an update rom in this phone, and when it was updating, it said the version was incopatible. So i tried to flash the zip, and i got stuck on the huawei animation. Any tips?

Need twrp first
I have read of "delicacy" of this device and the ease of damaging it using rooting with lightness.
Despite having performed hundreds of "genetic experiments" on my previous devices, I think this Mate 10 Pro will leave you in peace also seen the price not so cheap ...
Apart from the fun of modding and changing rom this Huawei works too well to play with lightness.
There is no bloatware, energy consumption is optimized, and you can only do damage.
With the root I can only make it worse, so let him in peace. For a while...

Hey everyone. I am new on here. And I just bought a Sony Xperia xz-2. I've been so accustomed to the substratum swift black themes on my Note 8 that coming to this has been a bit underwhelming as I was hoping to use substratum to no avail.
It seems that I'll need to root my new phone in android p to achieve what I want from substratum.
I have absolutely no knowledge of rooting. How can I root my phone if I have to in order to use substratum exactly as I did on my unrooted note 8?
Can anyone on here give me explicit details on how to successfully get substratum to work on my new Xperia?

Then head over to the Xperifix site and download the Xperifix software and follow the instructions...

You could install the uploaded Oreo firmware and use xperifix.
After you used the camera and upgrade to pie, the camera will still works (without noise reduction) and the other shiny & nice to have won't work.
The sound vibration system and the color screen system will continue to work.
Well, the PIE color system, not the Sony color system.
But it is similar.

Luckily you can't mess your phone.
But at the moment you would need to downgrade to OREO and use xperifix to reactivate your camera after unlocking.
Then you can update back to PIE.
downgrading requires a phone wipe.
You could root I first and upgrade with titanium backup or you backup only your media data on the internal and external sdcard.
