I am trying to get it through apps Firmware Finder and DNS changer. See screenshots.
Steps how to do it:
1. Install Firmware Finder;
2. Install DNS Changer
3. Open Firmware Finder;
4. Find your firmware (matching model No and C###) and click on it;
5. Click "Get update through DNS (beta)";
6. In DNS Changer change DNS to 81.177.139.39
7. Go to System update and check for updates.
8. After all of this you will get the ability to download the latest update, but server connection fails when I click install (with set DNS address you get the message "Server temporarily unavailable) or authorization fails if disable DNS changer..

What's your location ? I wonder if I can force that update through VPN/IP change.

The question is, have you been able to install this update?

You can only install with FF if the update is approved by Huawei for your device (in which case you should be getting an OTA update anyway).
If it's not approved by Huawei for install, you can use FunkyHuawei.

So does anyone else here have a problem seeing this spam for expensive paid services on XDA?
Remember when this site used to be about sharing the love with fellow members, rather than making cash by simply redistributing firmware.
I don't imagine Huawei would like this guy selling their software, even if XDA is taking a cut of his profits.

I respect and appreciate the work of duraaraa, but every time he ask for his paid services, its make me crazy, this forum is made for solutions of the problems and now we have been asked to pay for an update.

this..
just got my mate 10 pro, first time huawei user and did not expect to pay for a firmwareupgrade.
i get that he discovered a method to authenticate the firmware so the device recognize it and thats a nice accomplishment but why charge other users for that?? he just injects some code through his dns server.. in my opinion every thread should be deleted that covers funkyhuawei and the user should be permabanned..

If the infrastructure to install firmwares were as simple as you describe, it would be available for free. Unfortunately, it's not nearly as simple as you describe.
FH incurs costs to provide things that are charged for, including the authentication of installations, the unbricking, the rebranding, and so on. On top of that, maintenance, R&D, support, and so on is a full-time job. That's why users need to be charged. Things like rooting the Mate 10 which don't cost FH are provided for free, even though R&D was necessary to accomplish it. Same goes for the TWRP versions we've released. It's nowhere near as profitable or as evil as you presume it is. The service could not possibly run if the users were not charged.
Regardless, there's absolutely no reason you'd need to use the service to install updates. You can wait for them to be released by Huawei and get them for free. It's simply an alternative for people who want to do things they otherwise can't, and it's not FH's fault that Huawei created this problem in the first place.
Maybe it's time to get this post back on topic, no?

hello you can maybe offer a 1 credit to xda people for one free flash that will be christmas gift

Xda developers are getting their $$$ through donations and it’s understandable that most users will not like what you do
I am all up for donating my heard earned money to devs @XDA. I ain't no Warran Buffet (net worth 77.7 billion USD), but I donate about 25-50 EUR to each and every xda developer whose services/ROM I use and since I am switching between phones like every 5/6 months I donate quite a lot of money, but as soon as I saw your FunkyHuawei support thread/ https://funkyhuawei.club/ I was like naaaaaah I ain’t using it, especially because the way the credit system is built – before I bought ALP-L29 which I don’t need to rebrand to, I was thinking of buying ALP-L00 instead and rebrand it through https://funkyhuawei.club/ which would cost me 2 credits, but in that case I would have 3 credits left, since the minimum you can buy is 5 credits for 31 USD. That already looks like a rip-off.
I wonder whether if you would get more $$$ through donations than you do through your FunkyHuawei credit system..
Don’t get me wrong. It’s cool that such service exist (I’ve had one xiaomi phone for quite some time without the option to rebrand it/re-flash it and remove all Chinses stuff out of it, so I have been "there"), but you should either limit mentioning your paid service in every other topic and stick to one thread (FunkyHuawei support thread) or change your pricing policy enabling the option to buy a single 1 credit/single service (rebranding, for example), otherwise hate-posts will go on
Take care

So check out the longstanding Forum rules :
7. Do not spam, sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, simply contact us. We can provide ads but you are not permitted to just post it in the forums. If you do, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
11. Don’t post with the intention of selling something.
Don’t use XDA to advertise your product or service. Proprietors of for-pay products or services, may use XDA to get feedback, provide beta access, or a free version of their product for XDA users and to offer support, but not to post with the intention of selling. This includes promoting sites similar / substantially similar to XDA-Developers.com.
Do not post press releases, announcements, links to trial software or commercial services, unless you’re posting an exclusive release for XDA-Developers.com.
Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration.
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay-per-click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use XDA-Developers as a means to make money.
And most importantly, The one that embodies the mindset of this forum to me : the sharing of tools and knowledge and not charging other members for services ..
12. Sharing
XDA-Developers is based on the principle of sharing to transmit knowledge. This is the cornerstone of our site. Our members and developers freely share their experience, knowledge, and finished works with the rest of the community to promote growth within the developer community, and to encourage those still learning to become better. There are those, however, who take advantage of this model and try to make personal gains from the hard work of others.
I think it's just disappointing that you've seen XDA as a way to make more money by simply charging high rates for redistributing Huaweis proprietary firmware, rather than embrace the spirit of all the other Devs who put in a lot of hard work and time to share their creations freely with other passionate members here.
It's like the exact opposite ethos of ROM development and the intention of these forums.
Sorry you view this as off topic.

is there anything different about these apks? Are they wifi compatible?
I tried wifi compatibility and it is still in the works but as of now this is only for looks but I am working on wifi as I post this.
555-555-5555?? call that number while the widget is up?
On some of the sprint apps it makes you comfirm that you are a sprint customer, so instead of sending sprint our real phone numbers (caller id=your name) we send them fake ones, like 555-555-5555
this seems like not a smart thing for you to do.

so basically you just violated alot of copyright laws....
Unfortunately, some may think, we cannot allow links to modded paying software. The software in question is provided under licence to Sprint users only. Now, we try not to sensor knowledge here, so we not going to delete all references to the fact that this software can be ported to non Sprint devices and used free of charge in breach of terms and conditions, BUT we cannot permit links to the software that would actively encourage members to break the law.
Mike
Links will be removed
It's not the fact that it is Sprint software ported over to the G1. It is the fact that he removed all of Sprint's branding. That's like taking the the Google Maps app (or any Google app) and removing Google's name from it. It's simply just a breach of copyright.

Well, that too but the whole subject of the Sprint / Telnav software has been raised and discussed with Mods and Admin so there are issues regarding the use of such software on non Sprint phones.

I was shut down for a while and had to remove some things, but in the end reached a sort of unofficial compromise on intellectual property rights.
This is a delicate issue, in my case I don't offer folks something they would normally have to pay for through their network or otherwise. (I offer stuff they should not have, even if they have money to pay for it!!).
I guess our bottom line is that knowledge should be freely available, but handing folk the tools, to install stuff that is very close to being Warez, is off-limits. (Robbing banks with an uzi can be profitable = knowledge, but handing out uzis and suggesting you rob a bank, crosses the line)
.... and yes we know cooking ROMs and such is also a grey area, but even there we say that ROMs should not be cooked that include for free any software for which the user would normally have to pay.
If someone set up a site with Sprint software on it - that's entirely up to them. We would probably even accept a link to it if the poster said "hey here's a breakdown of a Sprint ROM" In fact that would probably be OK to post here - at least until someone asked for a "take-down"
The problem only comes when someone says you can load this stuff on non-Sprint phones and get stuff for free and just to help you do that here are the links. In other words that ceases to be a theoretical point of information and becomes an encouragement to do something naughty. If folks want t be naughty then they have to do so, by reading the knowledge and then looking for the tools from whatever source, here or elsewhere without our help.
These kinds of things have been debated many times here at XDA - there are no absolute rights and wrongs, only things we think are more or less safe for us to do - just like life generally I guess

Well said Mike. When I read it, I had a /foreheadslap moment thinking, "well duh, this should be pretty obvious," but im constantly reminded that there are users on here who simply feel they have a right or deserve to have any given piece of software if it is leaked online.
The bottom line is, do not post software that has not been explicity licensed as open source unless you have obtained permission to redistribute. As a general rule of thumb, if the software cannot be legally obtained unless you pay someone (e.g. it comes preloaded on a phone) or can be obtained free but only if you agree to a license agreement (downloading certain software update packages) then you should not redistribute it on xda or elsewhere.

Submitting apps to China stores

Hi Guys,
As a UK based Android game developer we have recently had a few games released on China Mobile and 189 stores via a publisher/distributor who have a presence in-country.
For our future titles I'm currently investigating the idea of submitting to these Chinese app stores ourselves in order to hopefully bypass the ‘middle man’ so to speak.
Lots of links to the app stores 'developer centres' exist, however it seems I've failed at the first hurdle. During the registration process I am being asked for our Chinese business license number and Tax registration number. I cannot seem to bypass this section or submit our UK business details in order to continue. Either that or I'm being asked to input a Chinese mobile number in order to receive a verification code.
Just wondering if anyone else had any experience of self submitting to these China stores? It seems as though anyone outside of China is not allowed to submit apps? Is that correct?
Thanks in advance
Mark.
Hi Guys,
By the lack of replies it seems this might not be the correct forum for this type of subject
Does anyone know of any other good forums which may be able to help me out.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the link.
We went with a publisher called Thumbstar, who are based in the UK, who work with a company from China called Viva Red. Currently they are getting us on the state owned stores like China Mobile and China Telecom.
I have heard of Tecent. Aren't they a massive 3rd party app store? So did you apply through their website or did they send you an invite to put your games on their store? Have you had much sales success with them?
M.
I know Thumbstar, they have quite a lot of games for Android in their portfolio. How was your experience with them?
As for Tencent, yes, their are a massive company (games, web, WeChat, etc.). They got in touch with us regarding one of the games we've published. We also had two titles published in China with The9 but it was quite a long time ago and I'm not sure if they are still in the business.

Will send you a PM Tom.
I can give u really advice because i am from china .here in china there are too many store
but ,you can choose some big store just like 360.cn ,91,wandoujia,and myapp.com .you can contact me by [email protected] .i may give u some help .
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
From my own experience it is easy to submit to Wandoujia (Peas Pod), takes about a week for them to approve everything, you need to prove you're the copyright holder of the the app (scan of company certificate) when you submit along with a signed "owner" form from their submission process. Registering is pretty straight forward thanks to Google Translate (for best results install the Google Translate addon into your web browser and/or use Chrome):
http://pmt.wandoujia.com/apps/dev/home
I've only submitted a free app, not sure but suspect things are more complicated with paid apps.
Other Chinese app stores are harder to submit to but usually only because of translation issues or also having to install their apps first and create an account - the apps are always Chinese too.
My app is on many stores in China, but I never uploaded it, they are just distributing a cracked version... :-/
What about Xiaomi? http://app.xiaomi.com/
$10 publish fee for each China app store
I check the website called www.app4chinese.com and they provide service to publish app in China. $10 per store and they list 19 China app stores on their website.
Hi Maineyak,
We actually help developers to promote globally their apps in different stores (not just gPlay) and increase efficiently the number of downloads.
Send us a PM if you need more information or check our website

Looks like its gonna take a while for us, IF it happens.
Anyone on 5.1.1, not just us. I'm in no hurry anyway.
Still scouring the web for a root method with no luck. Guessing it will come from China via the Axon Lux. Keep searching on Baidu
Only 18 requests submitted on king root. I don't think this will be our solution.
Any updates on a working root method?
I would like to put in a request for root on the Axon Pro.
I'd like root request for the standard (A1) Axon, please.
Anybody that wants to request please download KingRoot and install. After opening the app you will automatically request i believe we are at 163 request but we need a lot more

It shows as only 119 requests on mine! Do you have the A1P? It had about 88 when I put in a request
Yes I have also have the Axon Pro A1P... I guess I was mistaken it is less then I had thought.
Good grief is this one not selling to well worldwide? Also the 3 devices are dramatically different across the board with the A1, A2015 and A2016.

That is sad.. .. The is actually not bad!!! If we had root and a custom roms this phone would be at the top of everyones list!!!
Sent from my A1P using Tapatalk
So I spoke with both ZTE and KingRoot. I got the usually bs from ZTE avoiding answering any questions I had. KingRoot on the other hand has been very helpful and it seems they are genuinely trying to find root for Axon pro A1P. They told me the next version they release should do the trick, but we will have to wait and see
Everyone needs to download KingRoot from playstore and let it cycle through your device at the end it will say that root was unsuccessful and it will ask you to submit a request to KingRoot team, the more submissions the more they will hear us. its one click and your voice will be heard! We need everyone to pitch in here!!! If anyone here knows any members of KingRoot please let them know we need their help this device is dying fast and that is really unfortunate with such potential. ZTE Sucks this will be the last phone I buy from them they are planing to release the ZTE Axon Pro 2 and all other variants the Elite 2 and the Lux 2, If anyone feels the same as me let it be known on ZTE's Twitter and Facebook Googe+ everywhere they are corresponding. They are dead to me anyways, I will never buy another ZTE device after how they show that they plan to operate. They don't care about what the customer wants and they wont even reason with us. I myself, personally told them I would give up my warranty if I could unlock my bootloader they would be liable for nothing they don't listen to what the customer wants and in business that is what will either make them or break them. Look at them manufacturers that are doing well from China - OnePlus and Oppo both will give the customer what they want and they are doing very well for themselves. I will stick with Open Source manufacturers who have proven to be open with me as a customer such as OnePlus, Oppo, Nexus, HTC, even LG, Sony and Samsung at least then we have the option to to use our devices how we want to and not how they limit us. ZTE has lost its way into the fold!!!
So we need to do all we can do to get the device we are stuck with out of this situation, if anyone can help in any way, please do what you can let ZTE know on every social media site they have!!! The voice of this community can be powerful it has worked before hopefully enough people can make it work once again.

If you have a global variant, make sure that you can choose Enable OEM Unlock in developer options. So far we have seen the option grayed out on all devices. If you can't enable this, even with the code, you can't unlock the bootloader.
It has been confirmed that bootloader unlocking on the Chinese variant is possible. On the global variant we can give you the code, but you'll need to be able to choose Enable OEM Unlock as specified above.
Root:
The methods which are not public are available to those who want to test them, by contacting FunkyHuawei support by email.
We will update this thread with any changes.
so I have to purchase for unlocking my device?
what the ..
I would prefer bootloader unlock with paid service rather than having Mate 20 Pro with access limitation. Since you as the owner, you should've the right to use your phone the way you want it. Since the official unlock method was suspended months ago, what else option do we have?

Sure, but these people are putting work in to it and want to be paid -- I don't believe they're affiliated with Huawei. If it was Huawei doing this, I'd understand your sentiment.
Keeping tabs here. I'm hoping to pre order the UK emerald green variant before the timeframe ends for the free gifts.
Not sure of the purpose of this thread. It offers nothing. So will it? Can the phone be unlocked? Is a purchase required?
We already know Huaweu have publicly stated all phones after an earlier date in 2018 won't be boot-unlockable. So curious...how will FunkyHuaweu help me?

Think we've gotta wait for Friday onwards, as seemingly people with devices now (presumably different software wise?) have the OEM unlock option greyed out in developer options.
As far as my understanding goes, if we can check that option, we can't unlock the bootloader..... Sad times if so.
I'll be hopefully getting my device on Friday and I'll be sure to see if that option is an option for me...
So is there any way to unlock bootloader other than OEM unlock?

As far as I know that setting needs to be checked, we need to be able to select Allow. Without it I don't think the bootloader can be unlocked, but I'd be gladly proved wrong!
Does rebrand from L09 to L29 work or is it in the works?
Edit.. Meant without root, not bothered about that.. Or are we saying we need unlocked BL nowadays to rebrand to doff model?

May change in the future, but right now, any kind of rebranding is looking very unlikely.
The same software updates can be offered for all brandings, which is a plus, so there shouldn't be such a need to rebrand, even if you have an obscure branding.
But enabling dual sim on single-sim, is looking very unlikely with the current state of things. We are looking into it, though.
Thanks for the reply. I need global, not Chinese with root... this is a Dev community - so I don't support anyone holding the root process for global ROM as a ransom. Happy to pay a contribution but it's meant to be shared..
Unless your version is a 1 click solution like chain fire and has no phone side effects, then I don't see the value on demanding a ransom

Demanding a ransom? LOL.
They're a business providing a service.
If others want to do it for free, there's nothing stopping them from doing so. The problem is, I doubt there will be enough people interested in doing that ... the Huawei / Honor development community has already been shattered.

I mentioned before, I need the device in hand to do it. No way currently exists that I could offer people to do at home. That might change in the future, but that is the current situation.
With the Chinese version, you can likely simply unlock the bootloader and root like any other phone.
With the global version, you could theoretically do the same if Enable OEM Unlock is available. But if it isn't available, the only alternative I can offer, is one that requires the device in-hand. It's nothing to do with ransom. I'd much prefer there were easier rooting methods available. My full-time job is reverse-engineering and exploiting Huawei devices, so it would make my job much easier.

Many moons ago, "JTAG'ing" a Microsoft Xbox 360 console required a but of heavy lifting...and by that, I mean a lot of specialized effort and knowledge to carry about a successful JTAG, see what I mean:
https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-JTAG-your-Xbox-360-and-run-homebrew/
So - with that in mind - are you literally pulling the Mate 20 Pro phone apart with special tools and connecting wires to it running specialized patent-pending software/s? I obviously need to ask as you have failed several times to mention WHY you need the "phone in hand" to root?!
Otherwise, if you're insinuating that it takes a lot of manual rebooting, flashing and lots of complicated software steps - well, that's why there's things called instruction guides....and people like me around offering to put one together so I/we can SHARE and help others in my position (who would want a rooted global version of this). So I will once again state, unless you can elaborate otherwise, it is in fact a ransom...imagine how much Chainfire, all those years ago, could've charged Samsung users for his (albeit, simpler) root method across the range and years of phone and tab models?

Just to add to this I'm willing, within reason, to help out in any way possible to achieve Magisk root for the global version. There is currently a pledged amount of around £170 and hell, even if some of those didn;t pay out I'd be willing to put more in....
If we can assist in anyway let us know....

If it was something like this, I would be offering it as a do-at-yourself service, with a tool. I can't offer it like that, I need the phone in-hand to do it, as I said.
I guess one could then ask the question: What if someone in relation to Huawei pays you for a phone (global) pre-rooted. Then, they investigate how or where the exploit was made - and eventually patch it anyway? It may take longer, but we'd end up in the same position as before if Huawei wanted to control root on their global models...and, given your work/livelihood, you would know better than most: If Huawei did NOT want this to happen, they certainly wouldn't make the CN version as simple and easy to root as you claim in this thread...and they'd have something in the pipeline, if not available now ready to patch the exploit...
I still do not see how the CN and Global versions can be so completely and insanely different.

consequence of using FH method

I have used the FH method with success and updated my firmware to 9.0.0.171 global firmware. I have my bootloader unlocked and FRP unlocked too. There is currently no way for me ATM to revert back to my stock Optus 9.0.0.122 firmware so I am now stuck on the global firmware till an update comes for it.
The issues I currently am having on this global firmware is a big delay in the phone connecting when I try to make a phone call. It either cuts out or I have to wait like 20 secs for it to connect to the call and start ringing.
I'm pretty sure it has to do with the modem/radio and it being a global region firmware.
The consequence of flashing using the FH method in my opinion would be the lack of firmware support and it being not available to revert back to your original stock firmware.
The upside is I can now flash stock firmware img files through fastboot when better firmwares become available.
Similar sort of situation.. Did the same via FH method to 171 firmware.. Tried to revert back to at least 146 or 122.. Was on a Lya-l29 9.0.0.126 (AUSC636) Rom.. Have tried revert to earlier firmware via FH with no luck and have also tried via SD method with no luck.
Not having the same radio / modem call issues though.. My only reason for wanting to revert back to earlier rom was due to Google Play Certification not on the 171 rom as yet.
Someone at FH did mention that a modification Server Side End might work but am waiting to hear back on that one.
How is there absolutely no way to downgrade the firmware? Can't it be done in erecovery? What happens if you try, does it just give a error message or brick? I'm having issues as well I was with Optus 122 and went to 171 and I'm having 4g issues it flicks to emergency calls only sometimes.. as well as some of the Huawei apps weren't there when I installed the firmware had to download them all again...
Have tried the Erecovery method but all getting are package not available errors.. Have even tried mixing up preload packages with base packages and tried to flash that way with no luck.. Haven't managed to brick phone thankfully
---------- Post added at 10:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:14 PM ----------
So Souljasteve and pafc66.. You have an optus branded single Sim model I'm guessing.. Same hardware as the dual Sim but I'd be thinking there would be a different radio/modem img asside base firmware mods that convert it to single Sim.. So theoretical resolution would be to flash a radio / modem img from a single Sim build onto the 171 build as perhaps the 171 global image didn't touch the radio when it was flashed?
Hmm would that modem file be available anywhere and how's that done? Sorry new to this.. used to flashing Samsung roms

I agree. I emailed them and they are stating it's not possible at the moment...would of been good to know this before advertising this method. What issues are you having?
All credits to FH tho for establishing the method and making successful, I say now we just need to wait for a higher firmware to come out for your region then we just flash it over 171. I'm having no issues at all ATM on 171 the only issue I would say is battery drain but it's not a big deal of concern to be honest
We've enabled downgrading server-side. It's been tested, but only on EVR-L29 (Mate 20 X) so someone brave will need to try with the Mate 20 Pro. You'll still see C432, but you can downgrade to 9.0.0.122.
Just select the version you want from the LYA-Global section, then do the normal method.
I've said my piece on this in the other thread, the bottom line is without an absolute rock solid way to revert to pure stock everything you tread a very dangerous path. I would go further and say that having done what you did without a method to fall back to stock, I would hope you did so fully understanding the implications. If you did, you don't have the right to complain if your phone explodes in your face, and if you didn't, you are a fool.

So do you know if OTA will function after downgrading back to 122.. Like has this been tested on your EVR-L29?
BTW I'm not ungrateful as you guys do the work and providing a method to upgrade in first place.. I'm happy with 171 but just either need to wait for Google to play certify or downgrade and hope for the best ?

Is the C432 firmware designed for single SIM ?
My original firmware was LYA-L09-CUST 9.0.0.122(C34) is that what you meant? Can I just download the LYA-L09-CUST 9.0.0.10(C34)? I'm currently on the global 171 firmware? Whats worse case scenario , brick? Lol

As a "senior member" on XDA why the sudden paranoia over modifying an Android phone? Which is what XDA members have been doing for as long as XDA has been around?
It sounds like you either read a lot of Trump tweets and have an underlying political agenda, work for a Huawei competitor like One Plus or possibly just ran out of meds.
Do you even own a Mate 20 Pro? If not there is no legitimate reason for you to be making any posts in these threads.

Probably just a typical American drinking their Kool aid.
Are you guys for real? You are paying money to unlock your phone, which by itself was something that links to which were banned here not that long ago. It goes against everything XDA stands for. You have no way of reverting back to stock, you are possibly already trapped into a situation where you may never be able to even flash any future builds, and you are very much at the mercy of the people who have already gouged you. Yeah, XDA is all about 'taking risks', but not those risks.
It isn't me warning about Huawei spying, in fact the entire witch hunt is laughable. It isn't even Trump, but by all means throw an Orange Man Bad! grenade in every direction. It is the American media, at the behest of their masters. Look at this 'journalism' as an example:
https://nypost.com/2018/12/22/how-arrest-of-chinese-princess-exposes-regimes-world-domination-plot/
Huawei products *are* getting banned around the world, countries are bowing under the pressure daily. Attack me, though. I must be a 'Trump supporter'? Seriously?
I'm making this post from my Canadian carrier Mate 20 Pro, does that make it okay for me to point out the laughable irony of you guys paying money for a one off hack with zero fallback and then posting about serious issues with carrier handshakes from day one?
This isn't a $200 phone you guys are throwing this dubious hack at. You aren't brave pioneers, leading the charge. No one will be developing full root for a handful of people who paid unethical hackers for a crude jerry-rig on a phone that is heavily dependent on extremely niche localized firmware.
What's next, demands to have the Pixel camera app support the triple Leica's? Hey, I want root/Magisk on my phone more than anyone, but what you guys have done is akin to giving your child to kidnappers and then signing up for a monthly ransom. Don't worry, this will be the last post I make in any thread discussing paid unlocks.
