Rescue party - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Rescue party is faulty. If triggered it may leave device in usable state.
I think it's better to disable it for users who install mods and other stuff from here.
Magisk module would be useful for that
In my case it reset all settings, even those related to setup wizard.
I had to use adb to put them back. Commands are
adb shell settings put global setup_wizard_has_run 1
adb shell settings put secure user_setup_complete 1
adb shell settings put global device_provisioned 1

Help ADB Shell command EMUI 5.0

Hello guys, I want to change one specific variable but I don't want to root a phone, so wanted to ask if it's possible to be done with ADB SHELL?
The correct path is /system/emui/lite/prop/local.prop and you have to set ro.build.hw_emui_lite.enable=false
I tried with adb shell settings put system hw_emui_lite false via cmd but it doesn't work :/ If someone has experience with ADB write here
EDIT 1: adb shell settings put system hw_emui_lite.enable false - doesn't work as well
no other way without rooting

try using Custom Navigation Bar app
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-custom-navigation-bar-customize-t3590967
You can change it using ADB:
Code:
adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"
To get current order in case of future restore to stock you can use this command:
Code:
adb shell
settings get secure sysui_nav_bar

[Guide] Change Navigation Buttons order (Not Tested)

Hello , for changing the navigation buttons order
try this trick- not tested it myself may be some one can try and provide feedback
This is a converted or translated info so there might be some error could be occurs during the process so use it with your own risk
To change the order of the buttons found the following hack:
adb shell
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space, recent; home; back, space"
this is another trick that will hide notification , not tested ,
adb shell
settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
Who has the root and terminal emulator, the command format is:
su
settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
hi, tried this you need to remove the space inside the quote (not the word space)
settings put secure sysui_nav_bar "space,recent;home;back,space"

How To Guide How to debloat Galaxy Tab S8 ♻️

In this guide we will see step by step how to debloat the Galaxy Tab S8
First of all we have to enable: Developer Options
Settings->About tablet->Software information->(tap 7 times)Build number
After that we will enable: OEM Unlocking & USB Debbuging
Settings->Developer Options->OEM Unlocking(ON) & USB Debbuging(ON)
On the next step we need to download & install : ADB & Fastboot tools
Once you install the tools, connect your {Tablet} - {PC}
Select: USB Debbuging & Open your: Terminal
We are almost there
Now i will make a short explanation in order to understand what are we doing exactly & how we will do it.
What is ADB?
ADB provides us with commands that can be used to debug Android devices,
installing or uninstalling apps and getting information about a connected device.
adb shell
This command activates the remote shell command console on the connected Android smartphone or tablet.
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0
Using this, you can easily uninstall the unwanted system apps. To be able to execute it, you must issue 'adb shell' command first.
You can then use 'pm uninstall -k --user 0' followed by the Android app package name as shown below.
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.whatsapp_2.20.apk
This command can help you if you want to remove all the bloatware from your phone.
Please note that most system apps don't have the 'Uninstall' option on the device but this command works magically.
If you don't know the app package name for the apps you want to remove, you can use adb shell pm list packages to find it out.
adb shell pm list packages
Using the above ADB Shell command, you can print the list of the app package names for all apps installed on your Android device.
You can use this command with different parameters to get a more specific list of app packages.
For instance, if you want to list the system apps only, use
adb shell pm list packages -s
In order to list all third-party apps installed on your Android phone or tablet, you issue the following command.
adb shell pm list packages -3
Do you want ADB Shell to show the list of all enabled or disabled apps on your device,
try the command with '-d' (disabled apps) and '-e' (for enabled apps) parameter.
adb shell pm list packages -d
adb shell pm list packages -e
Now, if pm list command troubles you or you are unsure that you are making the right choice you should stop right there
(uninstalling the wrong app might harm your tablet's operating system) and use another method for identifying which app you want to uninstall.
(GUI method - Graphical User Interface) For example: APK Inspector will provide you with a detailed list of installed packages (plus their icon) on your device, once you select an app, extra details will be shown to you & that's how you will get the correct name.of.the.app
Thanks for your time ❤

I really appreciate this write-up it has been a big help..
I use my OnePlus 9 pro with ADB and fastboot for Android NDK to debloat..
and that application inspector is a God send so again. thank you
I don't know if it was just a fluke or what but when I rebooted after successfully deleting digital well-being my tablet booted up super fast...
either way I'm good.
Awesome thanks for the tip. Is using "install" put the app back if I screw up something?
So it really doesn't uninstall just uninstalls from your app draw?

For the os, it is like it has been uninstalled. But you don't free disk space, as the data of the app are still there. They just been hidden from os. That's why you can have back the app again just with an adb command again.
Man I used this to shut down numerous apps on all of my Android devices. Samsung and Verizon apps. Thanks!
Went back in to uninstall more apps. Device is recognized but adb shell won't load. The last time I used adb it was for my phone.
Figured it out, had to revoke USB debugging on my tablet. Delete on the computer c:user.android and restart (actual path on the computer could be different than what I stated).

I have Debloated it (adb frozen) months ago. Didn't have any problem. You can always enable it again.
Am I right? If i debloat I don't clean up the system space used from the os ?

You won't earn more free space. Apps are still there after Debloating.

@striker59
You remove the app for the current user but its still inside system's root directory.
You don't gain storage.
What you can achieve tho if you remove/disable the unnecessary services without causing softbrik or error spamming 'service has stop working' is a lightweight $user who uses less ram, your phone's overall performance is better and the battery reduction is slower.

How to rescue data from my 9T Pro

So while walking it slipped out from my hand and hit the lower left corner.. The screen didnt even work anymore (after removing the glas, it was clear why, as the connector is lower left corner).
Good thing is, I have adb debugging enabled and my keys are known.. So I can access adb shell and various commands..
My problem is: It rebooted and now, the important stuff is NOT mounted.. Also via scrcpy or MonkeyRemote, I cannot send any touch event... Its not reacting at all.. Honestly, I dont know what it is doing, but its quite busy writing for ever logs in logcat, that the sensors have errors (which is no wonder).
So I tried various "adb shell input XXX", but its not working at all..
Tried to connect a mouse via normal usb-c hub, but I dont know if I would need an OTG cable or if it would even work.
DrFone and some other software, already wants the money, before unlocking anything.. And I would be Ok, if it would be 5-10€.. But buying the whole thing for 1 test, is a big no.
So my status:
adb shell working.
scrcpy at least showing a screen
phone is not reacting on anything else, besides the lockscreen to wake it up.. volume keys are also kinda ignored.
I tried the adb shell input stuff from stackoverflow, but nope.
Can I boot in any recovery thing and mount sdcard there? Does scrcpy work there?
What he heck is my phone even doing?? If I connect another phone in lockscreen and use scrcpy, I can also wake it up normaly.. So probably not only the screen got dmg while flying :/
Most annoying things: It has alarms going off all the time, as I can only snooze them -.-
Is there no command, to unlock it from adb/terminal? I know the damn pin
When I run top, the top most things are sufaceflinger and logd (between 2-15). So its not like sth is always at 100% cpu load..
So little status update:
all adb shell input XXX are simple not working, as Xiaomi needs another setting for that.. Which I cannot activate, without screen.
I will try a manual keyboard at home..
Is there a way, to root it with adb only? Would help me alot..
MIUI security center requires you bonded MI account to enable adb input commands in developer options. scrcpy has OTG mode and can emulate HID device.
scrcpy also didnt work, without that stupid setting set to be true/1.
Tested with my old Mi6. When I enabled the option in dev-settings, it worked fine.
But I was able to unlock it with a keyboard plugged in (+ mouse). Looks like the CPU also has some issues, as everything is slow-motion..
So I just tried, what do I need to press on the Mi6 -> then did it on the Mi9.
"hitting space -> pin -> enter", "hitting space -> pin -> enter".
But was able to rescue all my data + turn off the alarms.
PS.: I then tried to enable this setting, for inputs, but you need to have a SIM cart inserted, to activate it
PPS.: Oh.. Now I got you.. I have to enable this option in scrcpy.. OMG Will test that now
PPPS.: Yeah, with that otg mode, the keyboard and mouse would have also worked.. Well, for the next time I know it

Ok, thanks - that was missing
If you figure out the command line to enable it from adb settings put global I am very grateful

Ok, so I dumped all settings and props to files:
Code:
adb shell settings list global > global.txt
adb shell settings list secure > secure.txt
adb shell settings list system > system.txt
adb shell getprop > props.txt
then searched for adb, usb and similar butfound only the following:
SETTINGS GLOBAL:
adb_enabled=1
adb_wifi_enabled=0
verifier_verify_adb_installs=1
GETPROP:
persist.security.adbinput=1
persist.security.adbinstall=1
(My phone: Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, MIUI 13)
That is, eg ADB can be enabled/disabled as settings global adb_enabled
However, ADB Input is not in settings but as persistent prop persist.security.adbinput and it can be only manipulated by Magisk - and by TWRP but on the old devices where System is not read-only
IMO, it would be theoretically possible on the Mi 9T Pro, but not if display is broken where TWRP cannot be used (I doubt there is anything like scrpy that works for TWRP)

Btw (sorry, OT for the originally reported problem), Netflix cannot be fooled (DRM) to display over scrcpy, only subtitles are displayed on the PC
YT works fine (although without sound - I will try with sndcpy), and strcpy properly recognizes landscape orientation, hence window on the PC can be stretched over the whole monitor
Edit: On the other PC I tried, audio works fine with scrcpy

Nice! I was curious because I don't have Mi account. Although I didn't have this property, just set it from resetprop anyway and it worked!
We can set it from magisk patched boot.img ramdisk/overlay.d/custom.rc systemless. or just add it in init.rc directly.
Code:
on boot
setprop persist.security.adbinput 1
