battery life sucks after oreo update+app ops premission for android system. - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

hello
my battery on my op3t (5.0v oreo) just draining like ****.
i rooted my phone and downloaded app-ops and greenify, and i saw that i can deny from the android system keep the phone awake.
should i deny it or i dont need to touch this?
also, what else can i do to save my battery life?

I don't have any issues regarding high battery drain. I admit the backup is not better than 4.5.1.
Some users did a dirty flash instead of clean flash and gone in trouble.

restricting android system drains battery for me too.

I was also getting poor back up on Oreo..
here is thing you need to do
Install Blu Spark kernel
It has done magic on my device.....
Getting very good bat life

Nah...just flash the kernel

Naptime and Akt profiles help a lot with the battery drain.

SuperSU is owned by CCT (A chinese company) after Chainfire sold it to them. They say they're legitimate, but well they're the Chinese. SuperSU is never to be trusted again, and always go with Magisk from today.

I'm using greenify and adaway...that's it..
If you want more battery back up install kernel Auditor and tweak there... Lower the speed of processor and change the scheduler....

AKT also helps...I used to use it in android 7.0 when I was getting horrible battery...
After every update of OS, go to
settings > app > application list > 3 dots > reset app preferences...

If that's a concern when you're using programs such as SuperSU I'd suggest buying a OnePlus wasn't the best of ideas!

Sure, it's a bad idea to buy a flagship killer device at half the price of any other flagship, just because the data collection hate is still going around. That would be like not buying a good car since it looks ugly.

Got the dev edition for vrzn, now what?

Thus far I have:
-Unlocked the bootloader, installed recovery, and Rooted (installed all my fav rooted apps)
-Installed Xposed for gravitybox
-Gotten tethering to work (what a pain that rooting doesnt just solve that problem)
-Deleted bloatware
Am I missing anything others are doing?

if u r still on stock rom u miss everything
try another ROM
try another kernel
try to modifying hardware, for example increase ram (if there s a method for ur device), over-clock cpu & etc

agree....don't flash the ROM...the motorola one is very good. You should get rid of the annoying unlock message. What are your favorite rooted apps. I use titanium backup pro....but would appreciate pointers to other good apps.

Safe apps to remove?

Hi, does anyone have a list of apps that are safe to freeze or remove via titanium backup? (Mainly system apps/bloatware) On previous phones I've used there's usually zips that you can flash via recovery but I don't see much for the z1.
Thanks in advance

I don't suppose you know what PowerManagerService.WakeLocks is? I've looked around and seems to be something to do with all the partial WakeLocks, but no partial WakeLocks show up in BBS.
Also qpnp-charger-f5142e00 something to do with charging but yet again fail to find much information about it. Is a lot of differences compared to other phones I've previously used

na.. just pick whichever rom, download it, find a latest "gapps"(google apps pack) and download it, and download the latest supersu(latest). then go into recovery, wipe data and system, then flash the rom, then the gapps, then the supersu file.. then just reboot.

Hey. I see. thanks for helping me. So, I set up ElementalX kernel manager today. But it has limited my CPU max frequency to 1728 and when I try to change it. It says you should let them decide max frequency. Should I change it to max or leave it as it is? Thanks

1728? that doesnt seem right, at all. stock us 2649, so elementalx wouldnt be 1728 by default. seems as something else changed it to 1728. but yea, change it to whatever you feel comfortable with.

Guess all I needed was a reboot and it's normal now. Btw I'm experiencing very slow charging speed after custom kernel. I don't have a turbo charger so I use normal 2A charger and before it used to charge from 20 to 90% in like an hour and now I charged it for 3 hours and it was at 67%. I tried powering off and then charging too still same. Fon is snappier than ever. Even in power save mode it's very snappy. And battery life is good. Though a little higher standby consumption but screening time is way better getting more than 5 hours compared to barely reaching 4 before. I'm pretty happy with everything so far except the slow charging speed. Is there any way to fix it?

Yea im looking into making an separate addon aroma zip with those kind of mods and bloat
Basically i want to separate the users in 2 sides:
1. Those sot-freaks who want the rom as light as possible
2.Those who want the most no-compromise rom ever --and for them this addon zip im cooking up is for.

Ah cool, well im one that choose for light as possible, but with a few personal mods like
1. adaway, verry importand to block adds
2. viper4android or a replacer like a.r.i.s.e, bcuz i like to get more out of my headphone
3. 3minit, it's nice to have a organized taskbar
4. keybaord symbols when long press a key, fot the lazyness and easyness of typing, i noticed it wasn't in the n5 rom
5. Google play services, some apps require it, a personal alarm clock like "wake me up asuna" , i beleve it use text to speech or it won't understand spoken commands
Thats all i need sofar
Even touchwiz i don't care for since i use nova launcher, it's faster and have a key
Ofc some can be installed separately, but i don't like to play with system files to get viper to work and end up breaking it like i did with my dads lg g3
Anyway i test it in a few hours , dl is slow and its 00:00 so yeah

Reinstall the rom again this way:
- Wipe system, data and caches, in TWRP
- Isstall the rom but don't reboot
- Install the kernel, then reboot
I've install without SuperSu or Magisk, and all seems to be good.
I'll check the battery consumption tonight.
I froze anything related to Bigsby with Titanium Backup, and turned off the AOD. Battery seems better. The reboots stopped.
LE: Batttery is definetely better
This is my second day with the rom and to say something about battery I will wait one week at least.
About the rom features and rom appearance, thius rom is flawless. Bixby vision works perfectly.
I suggest to install with no fear.
From 11.00 PM to 7.30 AM only discharged 3%...
2 -3 hours with wi-fi on, maybe 1/2 hour with data on, and 2 or 3 phone calls, at the end of the day it discharged about 45-50%, so i guess its not bad

Bluetooth does not work
cannot enable bluetooth, there is no reaction
