Multiple Lists - Google Home

Will Google Home allow you to create and add to multiple lists?
For example:
"Hey Google add research prices to my Work list"
"... Add sweep garage to my to-do list"

You can do that with Todoist via IFTTT.

Once upon a time there was google keep support. Does the Google home have an option for keep?

Was there an answer about using multiple lists (e.g. Shopping, ToDo etc.)?
Thanks.

Previously, you could add items to specific Keep lists, which I did for different stores I shop, by using the Google Assistant, but that changed. Recently, someone suggested Google will be bringing Keep back as a list target, so that may mean specific Keep lists will work again.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.xd...istant-shopping-list-back-to-google-keep/amp/

You currently cannot do anything list-related except add items to your shopping list. You cannot remove items; only add them.
If you have a Hub, when the list is on-screen you can swipe items off it or check them off.
I've been using my shopping list as a to-do list but it doesn't work very well. It won't add things like "change the bed sheets" to my list; it instead adds just "bed sheets."

Pre-Purchase questions

Hi, before I buy one wanted to find out three things if someone could assist.
-With voice commands and driving, is it true I still need to press an on screen button to send a message to someone via SMS
-With voice commands, can you schedule an appointment with a synced calendar other than Googles. I sync to an exchange calendar and when I played with google now a while back, it only created appointments via voice to the google calendar.
-with active notifications, what happens if you have three notifications? Does it also always show the screen when you take it out of your pocket. Hoping that it does?
thanks all
Voice commands will work similar to how they have on other Google NOW capable devices. So yes, you still need to press "Send message" to send it. As for the exchange stuff. If you could do it on another device, you can do it on this one.
Active notifications will show what you tell them to show. There are settings that allow you to choose what apps display. As the active notifications use the proximity sensor to decide when to display, it will indeed show whenever it's removed from your pocket. If you have multiple notifications, dragging your active lock upward will bring you to the app that produced the most recent notification.
Is that about as clear as mud? I suck at explaining things. Lmk if you need any clarification.
Thanks, just curious on two parts. If you have multiple notifications, the only icon you see is the most recent. The only way to know the others is by swiping the status bar I assume?
If you have no notifications, I assume the screen will not turn on, is that correct?
thanks

If you have no notifications the phone will show you the time when you pick it up or pull it from out of your pocket.

If you have multiple ones the others (older) show up at the bottom of the active display.

[Q] Individual Text notifications

Is there a way to update the contacts app, or install a third party one, that allows for setting individual text notification sounds? I've seen this option on other android devices, but on my Note 3 (running alliancerom v6) it only gives the option for setting individual ringtones. I've used third party messaging apps (like Go sms) that allows for individual settings, but I'm tired of all the advertisements and spam that comes with those. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Google Hangouts has support for individual chat message tone and I believe that works with text message too. Can you try that?

Contacts + it's a great contact/dialer/messaging replacement app, you can set individual notifications but it's got tons and tons of other features...definitely worth checking out if you haven't already

I believe you can set it up using your native contacts app....Go into your contacts and pick one, click on the little pencil thingy on the top right to edit the contact. If you look towards the bottom, i believe below the email or groups title, You have one that says ringtone and another below that one that says Message alert. There you can add a customized ringtone and message sound to that contact...Hope this helps

[Q] Did Google Now just get...... stupider?

I noticed that since yesterday, Google Now seems to have gotten reduced functionality, namely, in setting reminders.
I used to use voice commands all the time to leave reminders, specially location-based ones.
I noticed now that whether I say "reminder" or "alarm" it sets an alarm... and can no longer set them to a specific location like "remind me when I get home to..." and only at a specific time.
I also noticed that it appears to be hooking into HTC's own Alarm app instead of using it's own alarm/notification system.
Is this something HTC updated in it's internal apps that is taking over the reminder/alarm feature of Google Now? Or is Google Now itself doing this from adding support for notifications from 3rd party apps? Any way to revert it back?
same here

it's driving me crazy! I need my reminders back!
Known issue for the past few days. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!category-topic/websearch/vu0eMzw83MU[1-25]
From what I've read you can type in the reminder and it'll work. It's when you do it via voice and it has to go out to google servers does the bug pop up. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

Moto G 2015- Email Address Added As Contacts

Hi, some inconvenients with lollipop
Hello, i was a jellybean user for 2 years, i recently got a moto g 2015 lollipop and have some issues, related to the lollipop so i assume this is the right place even if it is for motog 2014.
theres 3 issues i can't figure out,
1) I have to add a goggle account to the android for it to work with everything right? i mean, the PlayStore app and ****.
For that, i have always used a hotmail address ive had for years which is linked to youtube, facebook etc..
But this lollipop, decided to add a single contact entry for each and all of the emails ive emailed with that account.
Its effin annoying. So i deleted all the contacts I didn't want there, and went to settings-accounts and disabled its SYNC
on that hotmail address. I did that yesterday, and today all the email address contacts were added again today. Wtf
I don't want to create a new clean email account just for the android because I do want my youtube subscriptions alerts.
So what to do?
2) On my previous android device, the jellybean, If i want to delete a whole bunch of contacts. I could check a box next to each of a contact, and select a whole lot, then just hit a DELETE button. In lollipop, the only way is to manually go by one by one of the contacts. select contact, select its details, hit delete. thats a 3click process for ONE contact. I mean. wtf are these guys thinking? Is there a workaround for this?
3) Last but not least. Say i got a missing call on the call registry. And i want to send a message either SMS or whatsapp to that number. In jellybean I could hit the send message button and it would ask me if I wanted to SMS or Whatsapp. AND VOILA. write the message to the number and send it.
In lollipop, theres no message button to numbers that aren't in your contact list. WTF .. I have to add that number to contacts. And then, a send text message button appears next to the name but it only works for SMS, no whatsapp. If i want to whatsapp that number, i'd need open whatsapp and search that newly added entry thru 200 contacts.
i mean seriously. what the **** are these developers thinking.
Sorry for rant. Hope someone has some solutions
Thanks in advance.
Hmmmm I completely understand all the issues and they're all kind of related to the Contacts app on STOCK Lollipop ( stock in caps because its just a truth that skinned versions of Android actually do a better job in their respective dialer and contacts apps or at least that's my experience) and what I've personally done to alleviate some of my contacts issues is to use Contacts+ from the play store. It merges all of your contacts with similar traits etc instead of having 5 different contacts for emails that should be grouped to their respective contact. It also has good organization features. I personally have it set to only show contacts with phone numbers. You can play around with the app and see if you like it. Its also a messaging app and a dialer so an all in one app but I prefer to use it as a contacts app only since I have better alternatives for the others. Check it out. Maybe it'll help and this is not a promo Lol its just that I've personally dealt with this and heard of contacts + and here we are.

Google Home - Announce Incoming Notifications

**Updated 5/27/2017**
After installing this profile Google Home will announce your selected incoming notifications by app name and subject line.
Video Demo
Part 1.
1. Download and install Tasker, AutoNotifications BETA, and AutoCast BETA (you will need the Full Paid versions). Also download Notifications.prf.xml
2. Once you have received the AutoNotifications BETA update via the Play Store open the app, grant all permissions, press "Enable Notification Intercept" and grant notification access. Leave all other default settings and exit AutoNotifications.
3. Once you have received the AutoCast BETA update from the play store open the app, grant all permissions, select "Manage Cast Devices," then press + to add your Google Home then exit the app.
Part 2.
1. Place the Notifications.prf.xml file in your device’s Tasker/profiles folder (if these folders do not exist then create them).
2. Open Tasker and long-press “Profiles,” then select “Import” and import the xml file from Part 1.
3. Back-out of Tasker to save the profile. Done!
You can customize your list of apps to announce by pressing the "Notifications" profile in Tasker to expand the profile, then press "AutoNotification Intercept Event...", then the pencil to configure. Press "Apps" to select your apps. Google Home will now announce incoming notifications including the name of the app and subject line (you can disable by placing your phone on silent). Enjoy!
Tip: include the Google App in your selected apps to hear your Google reminders on GH.
**Important**
- GH must be connected to the same wifi network as your phone in order to announce the notification.
- Turn off battery optimization for Tasker, AutoNotifications, AutoCast or your device may disable these apps when idle.

Instead of Silent to prevent any notification announcements, can I change it to Do Not Disturb instead? Would changing %SILENT ~ off to %DO NOT DISTURB ~ off work?

Yes, it does work, but it's not that straight forward. I've attempted many trial and errors and finally discovered one that worked for us (since we have the same phone).
https://photos.app.goo.gl/MbVIj9tRxYOpepIy1
I also removed the reading of the message from the notification and unread text reminder, keeping just a notification of a text received from sender. I didn't feel too comfortable having my text auto-read out loud.
Multiple Google Home's
Thanks for this, it works a treat when casting to one google home.
However i tried to get it to cast to my speaker group which just causes the app to crash. Do you know of any work arounds or is it just not capable of doing this yet ?
Unfortunately the app can currently only cast to one device at a time.
Cool things here! A Question Please, - When I import the tasker.xml, are then all my other tasker-tasks still there?
Thanks!

I know Your Question is a time ago, but I wanted to let You know, that it is Possible to cast to more than one Google-Home! - You must only go in the Tasker-Profile, tab on the profile to expand it, tab on the right side in the expanded profile (tasks of the profile), and setup the last task a second time the same but now choose a further Google-Home-Device, done! So the Google-Home's speaking out the information one after another, how it set in the Tasker-Profile! It's really Great!

I have seen Your awesome Profiles, and in the moment I'm addicted to it! I wanted to let You know, because I have seen that in the past Someone have asked about to cast to more than one Google-Home, and You answered that yet is not possible! - Probably You know this anyway, but in case not, I have found a Workaround in the way that I have set up the last task in the profile (Autocast) a second time, and choosed a second Google-Home, and now the Google-Home's speaking out the informations one after another, in the sequence it is setup in the Tasker-Profile! So it is possible to setup many Google-Home's as Wish with this Wonderful Profiles!
Thanks for Your Awesome Work and Time!:good:
