Fast Charge in Z00L(ZE550KL) - Zenfone 2 Laser General

I have a Asus Zenfone 2 laser 5.5inch 720p running Custom ROM Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 Android 7.1.2.
Many people have been asking for quick charge support on this phone but there is no particular software to provide it.
You can use custom kernel from here
Fire kernel: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/development/kernel-firekernel-t3703326
Poison kernel: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/development/kernel-poison-kernel-z00t-z00l-t3702256
Using these kernel you can charge phone faster from 10%-90% in an hour with cellular data off and you can charge much faster with airplane mode ON.

Are you using the stock charger .?.
And what config you are using ?? (kern. auditor)

Select the zip and it will flash automatically.
If you download the .Img going(image file) then in TWRP install section on the bottom right there will be a "Install Image" option touch and navigate to the folder where you have downloaded the .Img file then swipe the install slider, as soon as you slide it TWRP will prompt you with two option
1.Boot
2.Recovery
Select boot partition and swipe the slider then it's done.
If you have Magisk/superuser install in your phone then you need to flash Magisk.zip/Superuser.zip again.
If you have any trouble PM me.

Do I need to flash both the kernel?

You lost 100% in 3 hrs? is the battery that weak or you used the device heavily? or is it because it also discharges as fast as it charges the battery?
Usually the kernel increases the mA(for fast charge it's 2100mA and above) so when you increase the mA, the device gets charged faster(in some cases makes the device heat bad, that's the case with moto fast charging) and when heat comes in, the battery starts to deteriorate and starts to lose power faster.

I'm a heavy user I game a lot in my phone so the battery discharged faster usually I get 7-8hours of backup.
The battery also got damaged (I had an accident) but still I take the risk for fast charge. Usually on heavy use I only get 2hrs of backup. I have kernel profiles for gaming(2hrs max) and powersaving(7-8hrs). The fast charge works fine it charges faster no heat build up and discharging depends on usage. So no need to worry.

Sorry, but your battery is dead. Because if your battery is have really 3000mah capacity, normal charger (1.35A max) is fully charge in 2h15min.
You must take a new battery and try again this test.
I'm too use heavy and i can take arround 4 hours SOT minimum. If i am use normally and a little play game i can take arround 8-9 hours SOT.
Also, ZE550KL's usb charge unit has 1.55A charge amper limit. It can't take more than 1.55A.

[Tips] Improve Battery Life on cm10.1 Rom

My phone (galaxy mini) has battery life issue on cm10.1 rom, which is that battery drains very very fast. for example, i just do texting, browsing, tweeting and lil bit gaming, my phone battery lasts only for 4 hours, even less. i ve used tweaks, scripts, apps to improve the battery life.
I found these all work:
No. 1: calibrate your battery
drain your battery till your phone shut down, charge it till is full (wait till no charging sign on the battery icon - ignore charged notification on lockscreen).
do it couple of times.
No. 2:
a. change this line in build.prop
from
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0

Click to collapse
to
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=1

b. change egl.cfg
from
0 0 android
0 1 adreno200

Click to collapse
to
0 0 adreno200

No. 3:
odex the rom (partially, so you are able to change phone's theme).
Follow these steps:
1. move these apps : contacts,
mms, phone, settings and systemui, from /system to another folder (use non-default launcher).
2. run the app (attached on this thread forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156287 ).
3. ur phone will automatically reboot.
4. move back contacts,
mms, phone, settings and systemui to the /system after odex has finished.
No. 4: recalibrate battery using rom
(use lastest erikcas' cm10.1 rom or goldchang's cm10)
it happens times ago.
so today i backed up the rom. then i installed goldchang's cm10 (my phone lasts up to 12 hours in standar usage when i was using this rom), i used this rom for couple of hours, and i backed it up. then i did factory reset-wipe cache partition-wipe dalvik cache and battery stats. and i restored rohan's rom. i dont know how, but now my battery life gets much much longer. it's been almost 6 hours (when im typing this thread), my battery has 29% remaining. for me it's superr.

hopefully those work on ur phone.
credits belong to
rohan , erikcas and devs for awesome rom.

the trick is with battery stats wipe and not with goldchangs rom...that's quick calibration..
some times old battery data might cause excessive drain..so wipe battery stats also while installing a new rom...it wont effect much but u never know..i recently saw an article about this in google tech page somewhere
but mostly the drain might due to an app, so see if the app activity is still running in background even after u killed it..if such an app exists then uninstall it u will get more battery life..
actually, i wiped battery stats after fully charged maany times and freeze some apps too, those things didn't work.
well, like i mentioned before, i have no idea how it happens, but my battery life gets much longer, for real, yay.
yeah, but what if the 'background' app is must not be stopped i.e launcher, we shouldn't stop it right?
we talking about 1200mah baterry, righT? manufacture said it last for 6 hours of Edge, that means heavy usage, right? so, if you are using your phone a lot, that means 6 hours of internet, mms and calling, it wont get any over 6hours...for me, facebook offiiciall app and whatsapp drain battery like hell...so i delete fb, but whatsapp is must for me...same result...so no matter you do, even with deep sleep, its 6 hours of heavy usage...i also have Nokia e7, same capacity of battery, and same durability, 6 hours of heavy usage, except on nokia e7 battery goes quickly for its screen , not background app...android consume a lot of battery, its a fact, so there is no a chance that someone else calibration or tweaks can result better battery capacity...but, if you set your CPU mhz at normal level (600-248 at ondemand), you can get a good battery backup...is that cpu level its ok for you, than its ok..but running cm10.1 with that cpu level for anything else but music and opera mini, its useless...so, what ever you do, its still 1200mah capacity, remember that...your usage, is something else
take a look at my first post, my phone had has three 'phases':
1. rohan's rom before (poor battery)
2. goldchang's (awesome battery)
3. rohan's after (awesome battery, yay!)
my phone usage on those three is nearly same, even the number three i suppose is the heaviest because i haven't charge my phone till now (i charge whenever battery came to 4-1%, it's long enough from my last charging). take a look at ss.
here's a thread about battery calibration
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1821870
*there's a link tells that battery calibration is a myth, IDK
About Battery Callibration, I dont think it increases battery life. It just resets the .bin file stats to show the battery indicator (in status bar) correctly. Do it once after you flash a new ROM (after charging 100% + 15-30 minutes) & then calibrate either from CWM by resetting battery stats/ using the app in playstore called battery callibration . It will then show the correct battery indications.
Many people dont do this and then they complain about battery dropping suddenly but it is actually not dropping. Its just the indicator which is wrong.

so is that means when indicator says phone is fully charged, the fact is not full charged?

Only the first time you flash a new ROM. Just let that notification come and then charge an extra 15-30 minutes & then callibrate once. Thats more than enough.
Re: [Tips] Prolong Battery Life on Rohan007's cm10.1 rom
I tested battery with Extremely Heavy and Harsh usage. And it lasted for 1:40 mins.
What was the test?
Running whatever the phone could.
So what was running?
1. Wifi(scanning mode, not connected to any wifi)
2. Bluetooth (scanning mode all the time not just 120sec; not paired, connected with any device)
3. GPS with Gps essentials app: struggling to lock GPS for 15 min, then locked for 10min, then again lost the lock... in short it was alternating in lock and unlocked states with time gap of 10-15 min as I was indoor)
4. Video Playback: Alternating Background/foreground playback of 320x240 to 640x480 res Videos with mx player
5. Screen brightness 100%, wake lock on, speaker volume 50%, cpu usage 600mhz ondemand
6. camera on all the time(+ small 10min video recording), with gps essentials app
7. Egprs: 20min surfing, sync on all the time(no social apps)
8. May be I forgot something.
Specs:
Device: galaxy mini
ROM: CM7 autoradio v8 or CM10.1 (forgot)
Battery: A newly purchased genuine 15 day used battery.
Note:
Test date: 6-feb-2013
Everything I mentioned was CONSTANT, SIMULTANEOUS On for all the test period.
Battery was calibrated which was showing true stats.
I do not have any battery usage (right now searching for any screeshot if i captured, mistakenly )
phew, so harsh test. how did it managed. In normal scenario the battery only last for 4-5hrs with no gps, wifi, Bluetooth, camera or 3g on. Maybe I will switch to Stock rom for long lasting battery usage as battery charging even when the phone is off is totaly, wierd.
Like post? Just Thanks me in ur hearts, no need to "presss" thanks.

CM10.1 battery issues

Im a sucker for AOSP Android Its smooth and simple just the way i like things. The only thing that keeps me going back to a Sense ROM (namely Nik Project X Rebirth and ARHD), is a slight battery issues. To put it simply, it either takes an extremely and painfully slow time to charge my phone from even 60% - 100% (about 6 or 7 hours which, if Im not wrong, should be the normal full charge of an HTC Incredible S stock??). After a week or two, the battery just screws up entirely. It takes EVEN longer than 5 hours to charge up like 20% of battery. Furthermore, it stops charging at 60% as if the battery was full!! I know this is not an issue with my battery because as soon as I flash any other ROM (thats not CM10.1 related) the battery starts charging up again. Dirty flashing CM10.1 nor clean install of CM10.1 seems to work for me
Does anyone know what the problem is and a possible fix?
I understand that I probably should be placing this thread in CM10.1 threads. I have posted in CM10.1 by dla5244 thread as well as the Lacoste thread. Yet no one has even RESPONDED to this issue.

I had checked with HTC customer care.. they had asked me to discharge the battery completely, remove it for about 30 s and then charge using USB..
I performed the above steps but instead of switching on the phone, I kept it switched off while it was being charged..
What I noticed was the battery charging status jumped from 0 - 67% in 1 hour and then to 82% in next 1.5 hours.. post then it stayed there..
From what I deduce, it does not appear to be a software problem.. I am primarily facing with lots of ROM, AOKP, CM10.1, MIUI, Stock - Sabsa, Viper

The first thing I would do is look at settings>battery and see what apps are using the battery. Don't do it immediately after a reboot. Let it run for a little while.

Install wakelock detector o betterbatterystats.
Charge full reboot unplug let it untouched for a couple of hours check what's waking your device

The Best thing is first calibrate you're battery and see if it works or you just charge you're phone to 100 present and just keep you device a side and see if you're battery is draining again just go and see which app is draining you're battery and delete that app or do a factory reset ..!! Make sure to calibrate you're battery first
Calibrating : download and app called advance battery calibrate and follow the instructions given by that app and shut down you're device and charge you're device offline and after charging it 100 present then reboot and see it should work
If no : might be problem in you battery...!!?
Note : start calibration when you phone is about to die i.e when you're phone is at 5 to 6 present of battery left
wow!!!!!

The Best thing is first calibrate you're battery and see if it works or you just charge you're phone to 100 present and just keep you device a side and see if you're battery is draining again just go and see which app is draining you're battery and delete that app or do a factory reset ..!! Make sure to calibrate you're battery first

Battery calibration apps just wipes batterystats.bin which is also wiped when 100% is reached, then they are just placebo, they won't hurt the battery.
Offline charge might help if there's an app draining and heating the phone during charge, it might take longer to charge if you have an app draining battery.
Best you can do is to not let battery runs under 15% and try to not completely depleat the battery.

Phone charging Extremely slowly... How to diagnose ? Experts Respond plz

here's what happend
I have flashed Unofficial RR rom . It was charging regularly.
Then i flashed renice kernel.
Sometimes Phone was charging relatively slowly but then it fixes by itself .
Until recently it was occurring more and more.
NOW it charges verrrrry slowly 7 8 hours and not reaching 100%, still at 60%!!
So i decided to flash Ultimate kernel to see if anything happends..
no luck
I think somehow the kernal changed the charging voltage. or It may be that battery needs to be replaced..
How do i diagnose what the problem is ??
p.s. I have tried calibrating battery multiple times both by app and manually. Also tried multiple chargers and charging cable. Even tried to charge via pc.
Mr RR 5.8.3 is having very slow charging what can I do plz give me an answer....

If the rom was not charging above 60% you should just restart the phone with a charger on and it will just jump to a 100 it's not calibrated well calibration apps don't work
Same problem.....after the first charge after fresh flash....takes me around 10-12 hours to full charge even with a proper dock and cable.....if I use the device while charging then the charge gradually decreases...
Help plox....

Resurrecrion remix 5.8.4........I also tried 4 different kernels....ultimate overclocked, ultimate, renice, lightning over clocked............ultimate over clocked seemed to work fine but after some days the same problem started since then none of the kernels worked....

I know that's the problem of the ROM I also experienced the same problem on that ROM change it to dot os with venom kernel 3 hour of screen on time while playing pubg mobile and if you want you can push it to 4to 5hour (venom kernel has built in fast charging 2 to 3 hour max from 0) if you didn't enable fast charging 4 hour max good luck

pathetic battery

I am on Repulsa rom with mad max kernel. And the battery life is pathetic. From 100 to 20% there is no problem but as soon the battery goes below 20% it will literally go to zero in 10 sec and will shut down. It happens 9/10 times.. As soon as it goes below 20% it will shut down in few seconds.. This is not rom or kernel issue because this has happened with different rom and Kernel too.. If anyone can help it would be of great help..
Battery is badDegraded. common thing with phone batteries. Gotta get the battery replaced

degraded battery is usually covered but you tripped knox when you installed twrp. so you may not be eligible for warranty

I dont have that much knowledge but i am unrooted and happened to me serveral times as my battery shut downs in 13 percents. I looked for a solution and my issue resolved. Hope if it can help you
Maybe its calibration issue
Maybe your phone thinks 20% is 0
Try using fully discharge your battery until it shutsdown then go to recovery mode and waste the juice until it turn off and dont even boot into recovery. Then charge full with power off and again discharge to 0. Again to 100 and see if problem solves.
If not then maybe issue is with battery
I'm getting 5-7 hours here depending on the usage but to be sure go back to stock room for 5 days and check the SOT BY THE WAY I'm on Lightrom with the mad Max kernel
My phone used to be like this... so annoyed.
I tried everything but no result: using battery calibrate apps or methods, flashing stock rom, reinstalling TWRP,...
I am quite sure when your phone is at 20%-, you can't see battery % in TWRP mode :V.
I think the cause is TWRP ( data can't mount )
Here is what HAPPENED to my phone )
I flashed ECHO rom and my phone got bootloop..."Only official binaries ...."
Fine....too easy to fix... I flashed my stock rom and ta da... My phone's battery was Fixed :V
So ...you can consider bootloop your phone to fix the problem ))) Then wait 7 days without restarting your phone... reinstall TWRP ( "NOUGAT" or "OREO" ). And when you download dm-ver... zip to install TWRP, look carefully for LATEST version "LATEST". And dont update your TWRP or use themes for TWRP (Old is gold, simple is perfection :v , fuctional is too enough)
GOOD LUCK

Why wait 7 days with no reboot? Not needed if it's to make the OEM toggle visible...just wait 7 days or use the date-change workaround. Reboots affect the uptime timer but not the server-side OEM unlock timer.

Happened to me lately on stock, never rooted. Try turning off quick charge and use normal method instead for a few cycles. Maybe test on stock firmware just to be safe. If no improvement it might be a degrading battery.
I am thinking to factory reset the phone to see if the problem is solved.. N try the solutions offered ie calibration, quick charge off

Sounds good, just be careful with calibration...fully charging or discharging the battery reduces it's overall lifespan. Don't do it too often.
I did factory reset including internal storage wipe and calibration Bt still the problem exists.. Now the battery will go down to 15 then directly 14,12,10,5 in seconds even if I connect charger at 15 it will go down till 3%..

Hmm that's frustrating. Not sure if there might be another cause or fix, otherwise might be the battery itself.

Yeah, it can be possible to degrade the battery that quickly.
It usually happens when you let your phone go under 20% frequently or let it die completely before charging it again.
I usually do the lowest 25-30% and the 80+% charge daily, then finally use it all the way to 20% before going to sleep, put it on a slow charger, and by next morning its at 100% without keeping it charged 100% all night (which can also degrade the battery, just a lot slower than discharging it completely.)
I have had my phone a week before it came out and my battery is awesome. It lasts me all day everyday. Best phone I have ever had.
