Does anybody know which versions of the Mate 10 Pro ROM/Firmware support wifi calling - Huawei Mate 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Trying to get my mate 10 pro working on AT&T in the USA along with my LG Smartwatch. AT&T branded works great but still beta software so Android Pay won't work (which I want to use). Does anybody know of another version of the Mate 10 pro firmware that supports wifi-calling/enhanced LTE? My original firmware was C636 and that doesn't. If I can find another version that supports wifi calling, i can rebrand to that version - thanks!

Hi. I have the Mate 10 Pro model BLA-L29 - C432 and VoLTE works for me on Orange Romania

Flashed to the same branding and am experiencing the same issues as you.
We'll probably have to wait a while for a newer update to fix them.

AT&T branded is the only way. No other version supports the AT&T features.
The good news is, I'll have a new AT&T build on Funky shortly. No idea if it will fix your issues, but it's from December 9.

Awesome! I will update as soon as I see it! thanks

Got it installed. Still no joy on Android Pay (saying phone is rooted or beta software). I didn't notice anything different - once weird thing is that you can't delete digits from the dialer - a delete key is missing . Also weird that the phone boots with a "mobile data is off" message and you have to manually turn it on. Still can't pick which sim you want to default for calls or data (i rebranded a C636 Asia dual sim phone) - have to figure that out before my next trip to Asia (and using my 2nd SIM) - good 4G signal. I got wifi calling to work (at least the wifi calling notification is showing on the notification bar) and under "wireless & networks, wifi calling" it shows it on but under wireless and networks, mobile network under sim 1 is show it's disabled (guess that's still a software issue) and other AT&T features are working fine.
Any idea how to switch the primary sim for data?
Thanks for sharing the firmware updates - I'll install 'em as soon as you load 'em

hi guys
could you guys tell me which firmware is for ATT or Tmobile, because my mate 10 pro doesnt have wifi calling.
Thanks guys

BLA-A09 8.0.0.56(C07log) is the latest version (from funkyhuawei)

Whixh is the right hardware version for using / rebranding on AT&T

BLA-A09 8.0.0.56(C07log)
This is for AT&T

I meant the hardware. Are there different hardware versions or can they all be rebranded anyway

N950N Olympics edition having trouble on TMobile

Hi all,
Received an Olympic edition note 8 (n950n) at the Olympics. We were supplied originally with a KT sim and even in the settings there's a "service provider" menu of KT related items. I have gotten back to North America and popped in my TMobile sim. It took resetting all network settings until I finally got LTE working on it.
However, volte doesn't seem to work at all. I even downloaded the shortcut master and went to ims settings to enable volte switch but still switches to 3g when I make a call. Similarly it can't even find hd calling. The option in shortcut master "hd voice" shortcut says "not found" when I try to launch it.
Ideally it seems as though I just need a different CSC but I don't want to void any warranty on this phone, especially given that I'm sure Samsung USA won't touch it since it's an international model.
Are the n950n's just lacking in many features?
Thanks!
I dont know how your carrier handles VOLTE, but my carrier requested me to go in person and there they activated the service

Hey There,
I'm glad to stumble upon an actual user of an Olympic edition.
Would you mind installing Samsung PhoneInfo app from playstore and sharing your current CSC Code, and your Device Model number - which I assume is N950N ?
I'm just looking for a way to obtain the bootanimation and the theme of it...

Short answer, sell it and get the USA version.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Don't want to sell something that has such sentimental value to me
Product code SM-N950NZWZKTC
CSC code KTC
Additionally it doesn't seem to have the ability to have conference calls?
If you enabled all the switches through IMS setting & VoLTE still doesn't work, you'll need T-mobile CSC to get it working. Aside from the IMS settings, there are some VoLTE related settings in cscfeatures.xml. I have a N950F with modified T Mobile CSC, VoLTE, Wifi calling are working fine, I also have the VoLTE quick setting tile. But I'm rooted & is how I installed it
You'll need T Mobile CSC for wfi calling.

Heck no, I say root it, I'd never trade it for a US Snapdragon but that's just me. Can easily get VoLTE working along with many more features.

That I have no idea, I have no idea if flashing just the CSC file works between different model/chipset phones. I assume not. I rooted my phone in 2 days so I have no experience flashing official CSC files.
I'm using a modified version of TEKHD's S8 T-Mobile transformation pack. It's an early version of the following mod that I further modified for myself.
[MOD] Exynos T-Mobile CSC Wifi Calling, VoLTE etc for N950N / N950F
The person who made it has a N & specifically made it to get VoLTE & WIFI calling to work on N models. I'm using an earlier version cause it works fine on F models but still had issues on N models. To summarize that thread, he finally got it working fine for N models with nothing additional needed. But you need TWRP & root to install it.

It won't replace the Olympics boot screen but it will trip Knox & may void warranty (not sure what warranty laws are from the original COO, some countries don't void warranty for tripping Knox). But if you are in the US, you can't claim warranty on the phone in the US anyway.
You'd have to install TWRP & root your phone to install the mod I linked. But being how rare that phone is, I wouldn't do it unless you find a copy of the stock Olympics FW for that phone in case anything happens. Seems like others have been looking for it but can't find it yet. Other say it's just a theme that can be installed but if it has a different boot screen then I doubt it's just a theme for the theme store.

Maybe you've got the rare paralympic edition of Note8 which isn't capable of it? (I know, tastefully offensive. I'll be going to hell for that joke)
On a serious note, since it's the N950N which is similar to the N950F afaik, you're better off asking TMobile directly about any connectivity issues.
Usually like others have previously mentioned, should be CSC related but f.e. (if I'm not mistaken) due to the OMC folder/ structure, nearly all country CSC are included. Just the CSC features aren't accessible unless you replace the specific CSC with a modified one from S8/S8+.
If TMobile can't fix it or help you out, you're choice would be to root, double check with a N950F/N950N user if they have volte or (someone has to jump in here to verify) try flashing -if available- factory binaries for specifically USA.
I doubt T-Mobile will help or can even do anything being an international phone. My F on T-Mobile USA worked perfectly fine. You don't need IMEI provisioning with T-Mobile USA like you do with some carriers like AT&T. My speeds were great out the box, better than my T-Mobile Note 5, just didn't have VoLTE & Wifi calling until I enabled them w/ root. We now have 2 more Note 8s in the household, U T-Mobile variants. Speeds are pretty much exactly the same as my F.

Hey there, I thought I recognized the name. Remember me? One of the first to test and rip open the F model to try and figure out the LTE issue / carrier aggregation issue.
I've read through some pages over on the OEM Lock thread ... so to conclude, they figured out the issue with the OEM lock disappearing, but did they ever figure out the carrier aggregation for using F/N model 100% on T-Mobile??
I know people with the F and N models that are still suffering from carrier aggregation and like this Olympic Edition model, which is just a N model with a cool back white Olympic cover. Those who plan to use this on T-Mobile may face the LTE connectivity (carrier aggregation) issue..
For those in really good reception areas may not seem like they have an issue, but that is because they are connected to a really strong (single) signal/frequency, which makes it seem like everything is fine...
Would you be able to provide links to any progress regarding this issue? Has it been solved? If so, it's likely buried in the pages somewhere in the other threads....:highfive:

Yes I remember you. I may not be the best guy to answer your questions but I'll share what I remember.
If you remember, I was just about the only guy in those threads that didn't experience any of the issues you guys did. I'm still using an early version of KT's TMO zip which was basically a slightly modified version of tekhd's S8 zip. The versions to follow is when they started changing more & had issues as it was later found out that the TMB_keystrings.dat from N950U was the cause. Once they replaced that file the issues were reported to have been resolved. I think the current version is like 9m or something I like, I'm using 3a & always have been, never tried any later versions & is probably why I never experienced those issues.
At home my reception is not very good nor are speeds, I get 20-40mbps depending on the time of day. This was the same before I used the zip. My CA combos were different than what the zip gave me but I still had the combos that get's used the most in my area. Around town in good areas I can get 80-135mbps. I stopped checking as I put the subject to rest a while ago.
A few months ago my parents both got Tmobile N950Us. I compared my F with the TMO zip & speeds are pretty much the same, sometimes my F is slightly faster, sometimes the U, but not a big difference so I consider that other factors & call them the same. I've even tried a speed test at a local T-mobile store & the speed was like 6mbps (that area I know doesn't have good coverage) on a U where mine was getting just under 20. Still I'm not saying my F is any better but since I was able to test actual T-Mobile U variants, I don't believe my phone to have any issues with speeds & CA in my area.
Yes the Olympics edition is simply an N with a theme applied and physical cover with the logo on it. the bootscreen is an olympics logo etc.
Merging calls doesnt seem possible, i dont know why. LTE frequently drops on Tmobile now and just goes to 3g or no service at all.
Volte not working either.
I had a similar situation. I bought my phone (N950F) from abroad. Although the phone was in the compatible devices list of my carrier company, they told me that VoLTE could not be used on phones taken from abroad (silly reason). VoLTE enable is carried out by sending a request SMS to the carrier. I put my SIM card into a friend's phone, and sent the request through it. My carrier enabled my SIM card. I put it back to my phone and voila! I have been using VoLTE since then without any problem.
Just wanted to post a final kind of update and that is that the above referenced CSC for Tmobile worked well.

PAR-AL00 problems with CHINA rom and observations

Hi I'm new to the forum I had not posted because I'm from Mexico and I do not know much English, but with the use of technology (Google Translate XD) it helps a lot (I hope you understand). I've been reading them for a long time, this forum has helped me a lot with all the cell phones I've had.
I bought the Huawei Nova 3 PAR-AL00 with Chinese firmware and I have several problems, the most serious is that I do not have 4g, in my country the 4g network is transmitted through B4 / 1700 / 2100MHz and this model does not bring it, I miss it is that in my country the nova 3 is commercialized with 4g, but it has 4GB of RAM, that's why I opted for the Chinese version with 6GB of RAM, but it was expensive to lose 4g. At the moment it only has 3g + and in some places on the road AT & T provides 4g service through band 5. I hope someday I will standardize it.
I read in several forums that Huawei limits his HW device by SW, has anyone heard that?
Other of the drawbacks that I observe in the topic of the Chinese Rom are:
- The Google assistant does not start, says that you must choose it by default and once you enter is the default and after this works the "ok google". But when it reboots or after a while it does not respond anymore.
- Hitouch will default to your Chinese store and I do not know how to change it.
-Hivoice is also your Chinese assistant and I can not change it by google assitent
-hivision: I see that you can use it with a drag gesture from the bottom right but it does not do anything
I have read several threads but everything points to the fact that we can not change the rom-global because of the problems of the boot manager.
The phone in general, I'm pretty good but the topic of rom-china if it is a headache. I have read in several forums that the update of EMUI 9 to the model PAR-AL00 has already arrived, but it has not come to me. I installed Firmware Finder to try to force the update and it appears:
PAR-AL00C00E81R1P2B53 (9.0.0.43)
2018.10.31 4.038GB FullOTA-MF 186383
However when checking firmware Access tells me that the firmware is not approved for installation.
Do you think that when the update is released, some problems are corrected? Or worse?
Hi,
I bought same phone, except I live in Europe, so I can actually use 4G. However, my problem is that I updated the phone and now I am unable to set a default launcher, which forces me to use the crappy launcher they provided me with. I hope they update the phone soon.
Also, I checked oppomarket and saw that the phone's 5G, indeed, is not supported in U.S.A.
Have the same phone, in US with T-mobile. currently getting 2G, i mean not 4G LTE, 3G, but 2G...
there is currently nothing i can do expect root the device, and add 3G/4G bands to my phone, where i don't know how.
Apart from the launcher, how does it work? you see some improvement over nougat

Another option will be rebrand the device with PAR-LX9 firmware using Funky Huawei. For see if that option enables the bands for North America

How to upgrade firmware for S10 5G G977N when not in Korea?

I got a new in box S10 5G that seems unlocked but can't seem to make voice calls with Rakuten Mobile in Japan. I'd seen other Japanese users have such issue with other Android devices and could resolve it by activating VoLTE but no such options seems to exist on the S10 5G as I have it. The current firmware on it is April 2019 but it won't seem to upgrade to the latest automatically. Suspect it is because the box says LG U+ which is a Korean carrier and the updates normally come from there. Is this some sort of region lock issue that I need get a U+ SIM in making the calls for the first 5 mins? Have never rooted a phone before so apologies and bash if necessary, but if I use something like Odin, will that unlock VoLTE options if I update to the latest version and will is disable other features and delete the factory installed apps? Many thanks for any advice and guidance.

Samsung Galaxy S10 - Unlocked Phone (AT&T Blocked Call Issue)

So many people are reporting with the 3/1 sweep by AT&T, that they are blocking almost all Unlocked phones: See: Downdector Link We personally have a S10 (G973U1). AT&T is saying on this list: AT&T approved phone list that it is supposed to work. But like many other people "calls" end immediately, but we can text and data work. It is some sorta ploy by AT&T to force us to upgrade our phones. They want us all to upgrade to S22s. Anyway I was ranting. Anyway, if you look at that link, they are saying that the phone has to be on the latest software. The last update from AT&T or the manufacturer was in January. I checked the firmware site, and Android 11 is the latest in January. I'm wondering if there is some hack to get us on to '12' or something. An update might solve this issue. We know that a new SIM does not work. Calls seem to be rejected on the network, just based on the phone model or Android version.
We are aware that a version 12 is out there for the phone, just that firmware is not for our US-unlocked model yet. But maybe it can be hacked?
Edit: It appears this thread may be linked with this older one... But it is ever more pressing issue now:
S10 Unlocked phone with AT&T Firmware here they explain how, and the problems with flashing. This was back in 2019, so I'm not sure if this will still work. Even then it didn't work for everyone. Some in that forum claimed that it did. AT&T seems to now be blocking from their calling network any phones not enabled with VOLTE and the extended AT&T services that are not present in Unlocked phones.

I was helped by a user to achieve ascendance onto the AT&T network. I'm not sure if I'm to reveal his name. We 1) go into Developers mode on the phone. 2) Hack the Kernel. 3) Flash the rom to the G973U (model)... with the AT&T firmware. So that the Wifi-Calling and 5G features would work, and AT&T would allow it on their network.

At first I had to use the Samsung Band Selector app from the Play store and go into More Network Settings > AT&T > Preferred Network Type and choose 3G. Unfortunately this killed LTE so all data and calls were going through H+. As I was mostly on wifi I could live with it since I could actually use the phone again.
Then Friday morning I checked for updates and there was the update to take me to Android 12. I took the update then when it finished it said it needed to reboot to connect new SIM to carrier services....it wasn't a new SIM. I let it reboot and everything was working with VoLTE again.
Hope this helps.

Question Is the signal band set the same for SM-G998U and SM-G998U1?

Greetings to the community here!
I came here out of desperation because after several attempts I can't fix the problem with my phone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, specifically the model SM-G998U (CSC: ATT/XAA,ATT/ATT). The phone is unlocked and accepts all SIM cards. I live in the Czech Republic (the state in the center of Europe) and I found out that my signal is dropping here. A cell phone imported from the US has different radio waves. See the comparison there:
https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/CZ/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra
I wanted to ask if it is possible to solve this error by flashing SM-998U into SM-998U1 + before flashing, changing the CSC to XAA (or is it after flashing?). The phone has Android 12 and the last update was on April 1, 2022. However, I can't update anything because thanks to AT&T I have to be in the US + have their SIM to be able to get the OTA. Could mobile signal be a software issue (like if I manage to update it, is it going to accept European bands – certainly O2 carrier?)? It keeps losing signal (it switches between no signal - LTE - 5G). During the call, the other party can't hear me because my voice somehow falls out.
By the way, the seller told me that the phone will work in Europe, but it doesn't work for me to make calls. Do I have the right to return the goods?
Is there any kind soul who can help me with this? I will be grateful for any help.

I wanted to ask if it is possible to solve this error by flashing SM-998U into SM-998U1 + before flashing, changing the CSC to XAA (or is it after flashing?). Yes you are right . Facing the same problem here in Pakistan I have G998U model and it drop the signal from 4g to 3g (H+) frequently . I use the phone Hotspot in my car to listen to music . But on the same route it drops the signals and keep buffering. In Pakistan Samsung officially released G998B model but I don't like the exynos chip

Thanks for responding.
I noticed you flashed from SM-G998U to SM-G998U1. Did you notice any change in the signal when you flashed the system? Like, is it better after flashing?
I'm thinking of flashing from the G998U to the G998U1 as well.
Now I have CSC ATT. When I flash it to G998U1 do I have to change the CSC to XAA (via SamFW tool) or just flash it via patched ODIN?
Also, I don't want to lose data when flashing, so I have to put HOME_CSC in the patched ODIN right? I just don't know if putting HOME_CSC will leave the AT&T logo and bloatware on my phone. I don't want to be left with AT&T bloatware, so I'll probably backup my data and put a normal CSC in there that will wipe my data.

Would you mind helping me out, please? Someone on this page wrote that I should be careful about the bootloader version when flashing. Can I flash from Android 12 (April 2022) to Android 13?
