Lineage OS for Mi5?

Hi devs, will Mi5 get a support from Lineage OS devs? Or is there anyone going to port Lios for Mi5?

No one will port Lineage OS for Mi 5 because there is no point doing so. I was officially maintaining it on CM and will continue to do so, now on Lineage. Once the official builds are out, I will provide more info. You could have posted this question in the official CM thread, because that will still be the official support thread for Lineage.

So can I flash a new build of lineage os over my cm14 system or a clean install would be better?

Great
In the massive mi5 lineage' s thread i read that latest builds aren't rooted, is it correct?
What's the best way to root them if needed?

Jus flash supersu after flaashing the rom and you have root back.
All these questions are already asked and answered in the official Lineage 14.1 for Mi5 thread.
I suggest you read at least the first 2 and last 20 pages of a thread and use the search function before posting new threads or questions.
It's not much reading for the reward of information you will gain and as a bonus, you won't be breaking any of XDA's forum rules
Mi 5 Lineage OS
Is there any problem with using lineage OS on mi 5 with lgd panel? I heard that mi 5 with lgd panel can not use its own navigation buttons and needed to use on screen navbar. Is that true?

Roms for Xiaomi RN9?

I've seen there are many custom roms for RN9s and RN9 Pro. Why does our RN9 doesn't have? Will there be roms for us someday? Just bought the phone and thought there were roms I can install
I think its up to xiaomi, because ROM's devolopers usually waits for the official kernel source to be uploaded by the manufacturer. This reason might explain why there are plenty of Redmi Note 9 Pro/S ROMs (already with kernel source uploaded) but not even a fully functional TWRP recovery for Redmi Note 9. We might need to wait for xiaomi official kernel source for RN9 to start seeing functional stable ROMS running out.

Here, at official Xiaomi Github channel:
https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource
Maybe we should wait, RN9 still a new device. And there just an Unofficial TWRP, maybe after the official TWRP got released we will got some custom ROM.
I suggest you to keep on stock rom firmware only.
Root it with magisk. Flash it with twrp.
And everything is fine.

Question Will this device ever get a Custom rom ? ( Not GSI, A proper custom rom )

Bought this device at its launch and since then I am waiting for some developer to build a custom ROM for it. Multiple GSI roms available and even the Xiaomi eu also available. But I want to flash some custom ROMs like pixel experience or evolution x . The main problem with GSI and xiaomi eu rom are that they need a computer to get updated. DEVELOPERS HELP !

Until there is a custom recovery that works with Android 12, a pc will be needed.
For AOSP roms the question has already been asked several times.

but why hasn't a custom recovery been released for 11T Pro for Android 12? (I own this phone) TWRP has already been released for phones more recent than this one. Plus, vili kernel source is already available on github.

Just for information which xiaomi android 12 newer than 11t pro have twrp?
TWRP is not a requirement for ROMs.
It also works without. But there is nobody who cooks anything.
I hope that the price in India will fall quickly. Because there are some good people in India who know how to cook.
There should be Android 11 custom rom development, there is basically no custom rom support except GSI for xiaomi now (recently released xiaomi devices)

I meant like ZIP-flashable Custom ROMs that don't need a computer, like LineageOS, dotOS etc.

I think there is only Paranoid Android that is not gsi atm, but it still does require pc to flash due to the fact that even official twrp doesn't support a12 encryption yet.
So yeah basically we also need to wait for twrp dev to make some progress too.

Blame xiaomi for not updating kernel source to android 12.
It's already been 8 months since the GitHub repo for Xiaomi kernel sources was updated.
Any way to downgrade to MIUI 12? There could be also A11 Development not necessarily A12.
Honestly if GSI is available for A12 I'll take it.
If there really is no custom ROM support for this phone, I just need to root it. Any way to root on MIUI 13? (Stock, Global)

Pull the boot.img from your current rom, patch it using Magisk, Use that patched Boot.img to boot off, go to Magisk and direct install it. You know... Just the usual
P.S. There are forums that explain this better but this forum isn't the place to explain how to root a phone.

Question [spes/spesn] no google custom rom when?

Slowly new custom roms are fading in for the spes/spesn redmi note 11 and now there finally is its own forum here.
A custom rom without Google and its services is still missing among these roms.
Hit a post here if you find some de-googled custom roms, will do the same.
Peace
Update 08.07.2022:
The lack of de-googled official roms seems to come from the fact that xiaomi did not yet open source the kernel source code for the spes/spesn devices. https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource
Update 01.08.2022
I'm leaving this spes/spesn and will try to get a device where the OEM is more cooperative with opening their source code. There will be no further updates from me in this Thread.
Make sure to drop new information here, since there are and will be quite some people wanting official custom roms without google.

Spark OS is also without gapps (vanilla version). Currently I am using LeOS (GSI). Its ungoogled by default and works well.
Tried Lineage OS linked in this thread , I cant install gapps ,can anyone do a build with gapps.

https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/#xiaomi The spes/spesn devices are currently not officially supported by LineageOs
https://calyxos.org/docs/guide/device-support/ The same goes for CalyxOS
Again, this is probably due to the source kernel not being released to the public by Xiaomi.

Question Why we don't have ROMs for mi11 ultra?

Are Xiaomi recent phones bad at custom roms? Why?
You do have quite a lot. Most custom ROMs for Mi 11 Pro are compatible with 11 Ultra. PixelExperience (both unofficial and official), official crDroid, official Project Elixir, official EvolutionX, unofficial CherishOS, unofficial DerpfestAOSP, unofficial riceDroid, and probably more.
Edit: Even though, you're unlikely to get support for Mi 11 Ultra for official PixelExperience, since the developer never mentioned that it's compatible with 11 Ultra.
And I think the dev from official pe allready dropped support . When you visit site there is no maintainer anymore with mars

Because they're not allowed to support android 12 anymore. According to PE's blog, December 2022 is the last month for Android 12 support.
Therefore, there's a big chance that the dev will bring 13 to Mars

Thats great! I did not know the compatibility star/mars, On the other hand, which recovery is sugested to be used? I have been trying many without success
