How to Install Magisk on P10 Lite (need bootloader unlocked and twrp) - Huawei P10 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

I had issues installing latest Magisk, it claimed the boot image has already been modified and refused to install...
but I found this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/guide-huawei-p10-root-magisk-magisk-t3625151
and installed V12 from there... then extract magisk.apk from 14.0, install it and use it to update and you'll have latest Magisk no problem

[ROOT] Magisk works

Hi,
I saw that Magisk isn't mentionned in this forum as a root alternative.
However, it does work.
You just need to have TWRP installed (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/how-to/guide-install-twrp-root-systemless-t3325161) Since Huawei doesn't provide the code anymore, you have to pass by https://www.dc-unlocker.com ; it cost 4 EUR to get the code.
Once TWRP is flashed, you can just dowload the last Magisk version https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Before flashing magisk, make a backup in TWRP.
Once it is done, you just have to flash the .zip file and your phone is now rooted
DO NOT INSTALL FROM THE MAGISK APK because it caused my phone to become carrier locked, which it wasn't before.

Can i update magisk via twrp without having any problems ?

Device is Mi A1 (tissot).
To install permanently twrp, i need to flash magisk. But i already have it installed.
I'm thinking if i could flash the twrp installer zip, and after this, update magisk (via twrp), that is crucial to keep twrp.

Installed magisk 22 my phone boot in twrp

hello, mi 9 lite and latest miui
i installed magisk 22 from zip (by renaming apk) and now my phone boot only in twrp
also installing 21.4 by zip file it boot to recovery

also installing the uninstaller it boot to recovery
edit i solved by myself, i was downgrading to a previous rom version and seem that i can't downgrade

Magisk lost root after upgrade

I updated my magisk manager to the latest version 22000 and i lost root after I did direct install, I tried flashing the patched boot image with fastboot and I also did a clean flash of my phone and replaced my stock image with the patched boot image but magisk manager is still asking me to install magisk, I also tried with the latest canary build but same thing, I'm frustrated already.
My phone is Itel A11 running Android 6.0

Ramdisk yes or not for magisk?

Hi all, the new magisk 24.1 installing only patching boot or recovery imgs depending if phone has ramdisk or not.
Magisk says that mi9lite has no ramdisk so must be installed into recovery partition. but is really magisk installed in recovery?
Is this phone an exception? Because I have many times updated twrp but magisk didnt need to be reflashed.
I think it has ramdisk. Even when magisk says it has not. If I remember correctly when I got my phone back in december '19, magisk showed ramdisk: yes.
Two weeks ago I clean flashed the lastest xiaomi-eu stable, installed magisk through twrp (renaming magisk.apk to magisk.zip) and is working just fine. (for me at least)
Thanks I think same
I can confirm that mi 9 lite (pyxis) does have ramdisk.
Just flashed LineageOS 18.1 20220303 build, downloaded latest Magisk v24.3.apk from github, renamed it to .zip and flashed it via TWRP 3.6.1_9-0.
Added safetynet-fix in Magisk and all the checks pass, playstore is certified and banking apps etc. work.
My device has a ramdisk omg file on firmware but magisk says no ramdisk
