N950U hardbrick...help - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

HI, I bricked my N950u after rooting with the SamV2 method for snapdragon. I rooted it fine, then tried flashing stock firmware and supersu zip. I know snapdragon is bl locked but I thought I could possibly do something besides hard brick lol. Anyway, does a rooted n950u that they could share a partial or full sys dump with me so I can make a debrick img. Also if anyone knows how to un/debrick please let me know and share. Thanks in advance!!!!
P.s. I know it was stupid to do lol
p.p.s. if your not going to contribute to the solution and or insult my foolish decision please keep your comments to yourself, thanks

You cannot debrick. What does your phone do?
EDIT: you probably are not bricked anyway. Actually you might be bricked if you flashed stock rev1 firmware instead. That would brick you...

I definitely am bricked because my pc picks the phone up as "HS-USB QDLOADER 9008" i.g. hard brick. Doesnt boot into odin, no display on the phone but vibration feedback when trying odin button combo

Yup. Thats 100% a hardbrick. Unfortunatly the debrick img method doesnt work on this phone. Only way to fix at this moment is a carrier swap. Thats how I got mine fixed.

Carrier swap? can you explain a bit more? But I believe if I had a system dump for the note 8 I can make a un/debrick image just like previous Samsung devices. I'm willing to try but i dont have the software needed

Mine died in the middle of an update and when i got it back on a computer it was in 9008. Was unable to fix it. took it to my carrier as I have insurance and they replaced it.

Long shot but... qfil / firehose msm8998 is the way to go with this. Can be done, the hard part is getting the firehose programmer (and maybe rawprogram0 / patch0 xmls too)
Isnt it supported by Z3x / Sigma / Infinity / Octoplus?
Doesnt that "aryk" site have a load of programmer files that could work with your device?
Failing that, JTAG / EMMC flash (pinouts should be around somewhere)
Sorry can`t be more help. I`m working on a similar issue with a Moto Z2 play atm
EDIT: I`m sure the 835 (what you have) supports booting from the SD card.
You need to ask someone with a rooted Snapdragon N8 to make a copy of the first 167(ish) MB of mmcblk0
Like this... (Brief idea... whoever does this needs to do it obviously from shell, on the device itself wether thats from TWRP shell or ADB in *nix / Win thats up to you)
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/Loader.img bs=1024 count=168960
Once some kind soul has done this for you and you have downloaded it, write the resulting image to decent SD card using Win32diskimager, place in device and try booting. See if the bootloader runs enough to get you into ODIN.
YMMV but it is a recovery method for Snapdragons. Weather you overwrite EFS / Lose IMEI I don`t know. Only just getting back into Sammy scene.
It is kind of like a failsafe incase of EMMC corruption I think.
I can`t help with this sadly as I`m Exy

Sorry maybe u already tried it but here in UK there is a **** ton of mobile repair shop and in some of them are some heavy dutie geeks.
Maybe look around your area and see if you can find someone with big passion for problem solving.

Just got my Note 8. But I remember hard bricked phones in the past brought back to life with jtag devices. Anyone try Jtag device or gotten Jtag service done to hard bricked Note 8?
Last tax season was supposed to buy 1, but car issues. I know they're expensive. But if they can fix phones with ease. Then well worth it.

I have unbrick files for flashing qdl9008 mode for bootloader rev 2.
If you are on samfail v2 or v2.5 maybe ot the normal rev 2 bootloader they should work.
Let me know if you need them.

It's a known issue with some device models. The device reports it's unlocked but in reality it isn't. Perform the normal unlock steps to unlock your boot loader despite it reports it unlocked.

So you can't even start your device i.e. it doesn't even reaches the pre-boot screen (the Honor logo). You should have never ever flashed fastboot image. If your device reaches Honor logo, then bootloader is fine and fastboot should work but if that isn't the case, you have screwed it up big time. Still do reply back, we'll see what we can do

jtag Box needs to be coupled with Bootloader flashing tool and the necessary bootloader files. Since none of them are available, you are in a pretty hard spot.

No my bro.it's Dead.you should change your mobile mother board with another honor 4x(it's expensive) or you should find a programed EMMC that exactly is for che-tl00h(almost hard to find for this model) or sell your hard bricked phone(best way like my way). Of course you can find your dump files and give them to a technician for flashing on a unprogramed EMMC,but I know you can not find dump files for this model easily.
This is a real experience for focusing on model of the phone that we purchase for next shopping.
We should just buy a Global released model, not a china model.

p10 lite bricked

Hello there,
Hope is not a dupped issue, I readed a lot in your forum and found nothing in there.
Yes, I bricked my brand new p10 lite messing around with it, here is my scenario right now:
I'm only able to boot to erecovery or the force flash (the vol+ plus vol- stuff)
In no one on that menus I'm able to do anything from getting errors (no rom works on the force flash part, and the erecovery drives me no where)
Seems that I'm not able to boot on fastboot, no matter what I do.
I started unlocking the boot and it worked, then flashing TWRP didn't work, at that moment the phone still booted. Then I tried to flash manually the system and boot from fastboot, and I think that is the point where I messed things.
I don't have the original rom (was WAS-LX1AC02B113), I tried mostly every rom similiar that I found on the internet with no luck so far.
Anyone knows how to "force" a rom into the force flash?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english.

To force a rom, you should download the update zip for your phone, and extract the UPDATE.app from it. Then take a sdcard, create a folder called dload on it, put the UPDATE.app there, the boor into force-update.
Or there is an easier, but paid way, FunkyHuawei, that was the only thing that worked on my phone

MDM error, tablet T713 stuck on bootloop.

Hello everyone,
I have my tablet SM-T713 which finds itself completely blocked following a dumpling on my part:
I had activated a software which prevented the installation of software etc on the tab and wanting to simply reset, I had the ingenious idea of making a Wipe data and attempted an installation of a full firmware via Odin above .
Fatal error ! Unable to write on it (MDM) and I find myself in bootloop without the possibility of writing on it or anything.
I tried the TWRP flash without success, I cannot try in ADB or SD : refused.
Is there a tiny hope or can I use it freezbie?
Thank you really much by advance.
Jonathan

Well I don't know how to build it (yet?) but as I'm interested to know as well, I've asked for how-to on that specific page.
Downloaded a stock T713 ROM and unpacked it.
It contains .mbn files but no .edf I can't identify all what the .mbn are for, if these would be sufficient or more/others are needed.
And of course don't know if the found ones could usefully be flashed with the QPST.
Hope the guy from that page will give positive answers.

The guy wrote an answer but not helpful at all:
<Hi. In case of Samsung devices, the only thing that will work is the Odin program. It’s hard to see a Samsung device getting hard bricked, just because Samsung has all those critical partitions blocked from being flashed. If you ever come across a soft-brick, you can just use Frija to download the latest Odin-flashable firmware and push it through Odin.>
So sorry.

lots of good info on "edl mode" and howto use it. If someone could give you a "dump"
you could write to your device. .
[GUIDE] How to dump and write back the storage on most of Qualcomm devices
This is a generic guide that could be suitable for many Qualcomm based devices, once the phone can be triggered to EDL mode. To make sure this guide will work as expect, following requirements are needed: - Know how to trigger the phone to EDL...

Redmi Note 9 - How do I restore my IMEI? I don't have a backup of my nvram/nvdata but I have the numbers.

How do I write IMEI along with baseband version back to my phone? I really don't want to risk bricking it again, that's enough stress for me in the past two days
I heard that I can only flash IMEI 2 back to it, and if I want flashing IMEI 1 as well I'd need to install a custom rom on the phone. So if that's a solution I'd love if someone could help me with it. MIUI 13 is slow and laggy af (which is the reason I bricked the phone in the first place, to install a better ROM).
But here's something, when I flash the phone's firmware through fastboot, issues start to rise (as per my experience with it so far), but through SP Flash Tool, it's alright. So I'd love to know if installing custom ROMs using the tool would be alright, if not then if recovery is required or if fastboot is fit for the job. If that's an issue I'd love if someone could give me advice when it comes to it.
Old post 1: (not my current situation)
"Long story short, I bricked the phone and after months, I've finally been able to repair it (downgraded from MIUI 13 to MIUI 11), but I lost my IMEI. I have the phone's two IMEI numbers, but I could not find any tool to help me write it to the phone. Either that, or I don't know whether the phone should be turned on or off, or if there's any special mode that's required for that matter.
Help would really be appreciated."
Old post 2:
"It happened after manually installing engineering ROM on it, now I can only doubt it's BROM mode that's working and nothing else, but I'm not sure. SP Flash Tool doesn't want to work with the phone since I want to flash the stock rom back. I really need help please."

The reason why my phone broke in the first place was due to flashing a misc.bin file after following a YouTube tutorial. It was part of a process to download twrp on the phone unofficially. Since then I started looking for ways to fix it until I finally found a post that had to do with fixing nvdata corruption (which was the error I had prior to fixing the phone) which helped.
So yeah, I don't think I can trust flashing ROMs on my phone as much as before, but I'll still try the engineering ROM thing.

So um...it bricked. This time worse than before. It doesn't turn on at all no matter how long I press the power button. It was after I manually flashed eng rom.

Yep, it doesn't show up as it's name or "Android", it shows up as MediaTek USB Port (COM3), that's why I doubted it to be in BROM mode.

Hold on, it worked now for some reason when I disconnected the battery, but it keeps connecting and disconnecting so that's an issue.
I'll try to reconnect the battery and see.

Bro, thank you so much, the phone's unbricked now. I couldn't believe my eyes
But for now, is there any solution for the IMEI problem?

I always recommend a NV Backup before messing up with your own device, that's all I know.
Download the file attached here but remember you can fix only second IMEI using this method. Please don't try to fix both IMEI or NV Data will be corrupted again.

The guy in the video is using MIUI 12, I have MIUI 13. I don't know if that's an issue but someone in the comments said something about MIUI or so. I'm not a professional but many times when I see tutorials they're very specific with the MIUI version.
Also, I'm not sure how to back up nv data, do I use mtkclient or is it somewhere in the attachment you sent me?
And one more thing, my phone's baseband version is unknown, could that affect the process?

You don't need the backup anymore and you can follow the tutorial in the video irrespective of the MIUI version you have.
I have also attached the files that are used in the video.

The phone keeps rebooting when connecting it to Maui META. Like it shows META MODE at the bottom of the screen but then it turns off. Now it's bootlooping. I guess I'll have to flash MIUI on it again. At least I still have access to fastboot and recovery.
Update: NV Data corrupted after flashing MIUI, but I got a solution that hopefully works.
Update 2: After flashing MIUI 11 (along with some other nvdata and nvram files, i think they're just empty), it works now and the error is gone. But as I said IMEI issue's still there. Maybe I would need engineering ROM for this one? Although it bricked my phone before.
Also, the phone started bootlooping before attempting the Maui META thing, so maybe it's either the manual formatting of partitions or the files I flashed on it.

So I ran into another issue. it tells me I need "exaid-verified.img" and that verified boot is enabled, which is not present in the ENG ROM folder.

Btw one more thing, I can update my phone right? Like, it won't break my phone? I'm good with MIUI 11 but I wonder if updating it would fix baseband version.
