Soak Test Starting Tomorrow

I just got this email from Motorola:
Hi.
Thanks for much for siging up to provide feedback on the upcoming software upgrade for the Droid 3. Unless we run into unexpected difficulties, we will start the upgrade mid-day tomorrow.
One warning -- please DO NOT perform a factory data reset in advance of the upgrade. It can knock you off our upgrade list.
You can now enter the private community where we will be expecting your feedback. Get started here [NOTE - I REMOVED THE LINK] and learn more. In the event that you can't enter the community, reply to this email with the user name and password you are using.
Please do not send emails here or PM me if you can possibly help it. Soaks are busy times and mostly I will be in the community.

yea i just got it 2

My phone got fed the update directly from Motorola around noon today. Here is what I am seeing for build, baseband, and other numbers from the About page:
System Version - 5.6.890.XT862.Verizon.en.US
Android Version - 2.3.4
Baseband Version - [email protected] #1
Build Number - 5.5.1_84_D3G-55
ERI Version - 5

How do you sign up to particpate in soak tests?

Were you on 5.5.959 or 5.6.890 when you got the update?

this is the same one that leaked a while back right?

I BELIEVE so, but I'm not positive. If someone who applied the leak can compare my numbers with their numbers, that'd be awesome

Just got the OTA and installing now. Is this a full scale roll out or a soak test? Because I didn't sign up for anything...

im waiting for someone to dump the update from their SD/internal memory for a manual update.

It was unknown until the soak test actually began whether the leaked update was the official update or not. When it was first leaked, there was no way to know whether or not it would take you off the actual upgrade path for the future. Even after Verizon posted preliminary info about the update with the same build number on their site, it was possible that they would change things and re-publish the page. Just because you jumped the gun and got lucky doesn't mean this is insignificant news for those of us who were patient.
Granted it's all moot now since this is in the past...

They feed soak test update to many users, not only those who signed for it. You just got in the pool.

Does this OTA break the same things that people reported on the leak? Camera issues, double tappin on keyboards, etc. ?

Ah Asus website has it - I'm not bothering to update anything with it - also they are 3 months too late - lol

Jan 9 ... 326MB software update.. what is it?

The description doesn't say Nougat... and what it does say certainly doesn't seem to justify 326MB of download.
anyone applied this yet?

362MB sems like a lot just to change home page and fix daylight savings issue...

PK6 firmware has been posted on Sammobile for almost a month maybe. I installed it on my T719. Still MM, probably small fixes, and security patch level is December 1, 2016.

Yea, i guess it can take longer to reach your device via OTA. I keep tabs on https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and grab them as soon as they're posted.. But, I don't care what country they are for, I just install 1 from the new batch for the latest fixes and security updates lol.

T-Mobile OTA build 190116

I just received build 190116. Didn't notice how big it was but it seems to be December's security patch plus dialer improvements'.

That's a 16 page long thread about the last update... I thought people would like to know there's a new update without having to read an old thread

Agreed, new update, new thread.
Just downloaded it, it's quite big for just December update and Dialer improvements. Also build number jump seems pretty big. Anyone know what other changes were made?

u do realize the build number is just the date right? tmobiel updates are nothing great. any "big" improvements will be on the intl firmware first.

I am also from India and I received the update on 22nd April (late night). Are you using any custom ROM or anything else??

Improvements
Any improvements in camera, was the call screen feature added in this update and any other new features.

Request to all members to post screenshot of update logs to get better understanding....
It's useful for those who yet to get the update..

Only April security update is added till now. No call screening and not any other camera improvements.

I'm facing this issue with my April Update, anyone knows a fix?
It says waiting for WiFi and download is paused. I am connected to WiFi. I have restarted the phone, tried to download using mobile data, changed WiFi to unmetered. Does anyone know what to do about this?
I tried to upload the screenshot but it's failed too
It says:
"Waiting for data connection to resume background installation"

Go to WiFi settings and click on the particular WiFi that you're connected with. Then you'll get some options to make it unmetered...

Updates stopped at 1st April.
What is future of security updates?
Will it receive Android Q or not?

This device in Android one program.....
It will support 2 years of system updates...
