i was thinking of getting the mate 9 but then the mate 10 lite caught my attention , also its considerably cheaper than the mate 9.
so do you think there are a significant dfferences in terms of performance and overall build quality that makes the mate 9 deserves the extra money??

Huawei Releases EMUI 8.1 Update for Mate 10 & Mate 10 Pro, Big Upgrades to Camera
Ttoday Huawei has officially started EMUI 8.1.0.321 update for the Mate 10/Mate 10 Pro device. It is also reported that the Mate 10 will get GPU Turbo Technology probably by next month.
The new EMUI 8.1 system update will bring new features to the Mate 10 series smartphone like 960fps super slow motion videos capability, AI photography master, 3D portrait light effect, smart gallery and many other practical features. The AI photography will increases the number of scene recognition modes from 13 categories to 19 categories and total scene/o recognition to over 500, through this update the cameras of Mate 10 series smartphone can now identify more scenes and objects. The users of the Mate 10 can update EMUI 8.1 by heading to the Huawei Club app and register as an early adopter under Member Services, the update will then be pushed out to your device when registration is done.
Recall last October, Huawei has launched the Mate 10 series smartphone in China, at that time it was running on EMUI 8.0 system based on Android 8.0 . In March this year, Huawei added face recognition to the Mate 10 series through an update and in May these smartphones received another update that brings super night scene mode to make its night shooting ability significantly better. In June, Huawei’s Mate 10 series was the first to implement the GPU Turbo technology upgrade which improves its graphics computing efficiency by 60% and reduced the power consumption by 30%.

I think you need to login on the app for "more service" but I can't seem to login, tried using Mobile Data and Wifi and also used VPN(china server), but still not able to login. Giving me "Network Error...."
Only seeing it in Chinese models ATM.

Same model as you and the only updates I got since buying the Mate 10 (secondhand and only a few days ago) are face unlock and a security patch. I have night shot mode but I doubt it's the one you're talking about.

You can't. Probably a reason why no one can find it in the app gallery or play store. I guess it's a Chinese app for the Chinese ROM. And only Chinese can get the beta/testing

hi all. will we get EMUI 9.0 on on Huawei P10 this weekend? As Huawei announced it would be available.
As far a I know a beta version is currently being tested by a small users group in China. I would not expect EMUI 9 on VTR-L09/29 this year and possibly it won't be issued at all outside China. Remember that the P9 only received EMUI 8 in China.

So are we going to get EMUI 9 or not?
There's no official statement from Huawei.
But there's a beta for Chinese models, so I think the P10 will get EMUI 9 but later, maybe next year.
Maybe like EMUI 8, when the next Android version is released by Google (9.1) we'll get EMUI 9 with 9.0.
Huawei is very slow with this and isn't very community friendly.

This is a beta like the German beta which is being tested since mid December 2018 - see following post.

Hello to everyone in the community
New owner of the P30 Pro, I would like to ask if Emui 9. 1 offers better performance, battery management and camera quality comparing to emui 10?
I'm currently on Emui v10.1.0.141 but I've seen many reports from people downgrading to Emui 9.1 for all the above mentioned reasons.
Is there someone who has downgraded and can share his experience?
