I currently have this version, but my bootloader is locked and I am having problems unlocking it, have you had any luck or rooted the phone running this version firmware?

There has never been a way to unlock the bootloader on the AT&T variant. Root hasn't been available since Lollipop. Not aware of anyone still working on it, so don't hold you breath...

I know. A real bummer. I was really looking forward to get the most out of this phone but AT&T have really made sure that you can't do anything.

Well you know I got can hope and dream for root on a AT&T, maybe one day soon, maybe not.

I can update this firmware if my baseband is the G920AUCS4CPG1? My model is S6 SM920A 64gb AT&T.
Is there a problem with the bootloader blocked or unlocked? is that I do not know how it is on my device

i really need this firmware and the link is down can someone help me to get another link

Getting Marshmallow on Unlocked S6 For Straight Talk

I purchased an unlocked S6 fit my father in law to use on Straight Talk. It's got 5.1.1 on it currently. What's my best course of action to get Marshmallow? Try to get the official AT&T carrier update? Or root and flash something else? I don't have experience with MNVOs. Thanks in advance.

You'll have to check some of these threads to see if 5.1.1 can be rooted. I forgot when it got locked to the point we can no longer root.
I am on Straight Talk and added FOTA to the list in the APN type setting and get my OTA updates. The most recent was a kernel dated Nov 2.

That means you flashed wrong fastboot ROM, that was not meant for your region/country or device model..
Now you have to find correct version of fastboot ROM.
Do you have any backup of stock ROM ?
EDIT: build version NPS26.116-61 was indian/asian update for december, definitely you are on wrong build.

The builds that end in #116-61 are all intended for India region.
The builds that end in #116-4X are all intended for North America.
These are all the builds I've written down since owning the Moto G5S Plus
Build: NPS26-116-45 Android 7.1.1 Security June 1, 2017
Build: NPSS26.116-48-9 Android 7.1.1 Security January 1, 2018
Build: NPSS26.116-48-12 Android 7.1.1 Security March 1, 2018
Build: NPSS26.116-48-15 Android 7.1.1 Security April 1, 2018
On Firmware Center you'll see some builds listed as NPS and some listed as NPSS. NPS means it's an original factory build. NPSS means it's an OTA update build.
To answer your question: if you live in North America, download and install the file that says NPS26-116-45. After you install it, go to 'settings' and 'check for update'. You'll immediately get an OTA update. Install the OTA update then 'check for update'. You'll get the next increment OTA update. Install and keep performing 'check for update' until you have the most recent build installed (build NPSS26.116-48-15 as of today).

Thanks to everyone that gave some support!
Finally, I have installed the 116-4-5 RETAIL.
It seems to work perfectly until now! Now I have installed the security patches available today (the one from April is the last still in early june)
Thanks to everyone!

Hi bro! I also have latam version (XT1801) and I have to use the very same firmware you do, but I don't now how to install security patches manually. Maybe would you explain to me how?
I already have everything I need: VIPER4Android + libraries, Magisk, Xposed, but I have attempted -several times- to lock bootloader to receive them through OTA (of course before flashing everything I mentioned before ), but I got always errors through bootloader/cmd commands, so I definitely need to install those patches manually.
I really will appreciate all help you can give me. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I still have installed the april security patch in my moto g5s Plus (mid june) and there is not a new one by OTA.
Are you with the same situation?
Does anyone have a different security patch (or even oreo) from OTA?
I'm from Latin America too, the last OTA Update that I received was April Security Patch.
My compilation number is: NPSS26.116-26-14

If you're back on the latest stock T-Mobile firmware (8.1) ,T-Mobile US hasn't pushed it (9.0) out yet. (guessing you're on T-Mo US,going by your info)

Hey Venom, ever since upgraded to pie via an update file from XDA, my software update screen says this and I never get OTA updates. I always have to flash each rom manually thru Odin.
Any ideas why my phone can't update via OTA anymore? I have not tried factory resetting or anything. I have however flashed several firmwares via Odin with no change.

Hi,
I have had an issue with my Note 9 with the firmware from November right before this. I prefer Oreo to Pie so I wanted to update. The AT&T N960USQS1ARL2 files I have downloaded do not includ the home_cmc file and I do not want to reinstall apps and data. Please advise how I can get the home_cmc file.

If you mean you want to change N960A to N960F, the short answer is no.
Among other major differences, one is Snapdragon while the other is Exynos.

so here's the solution:
it involves searching and reading.
download the latest att firmware for your device.
you can use web sites or sam firm tool 0.3.6 to retrieve the correct firmware file that matches your device.
extrac zip and flash all components, put your device in downlaod mode and flash using odin 3.13.1 or 3.13.3 application. you will need samsung android drivers installed prior.
now the search and reading part comes here.
This is why I have spent less time on XDA. Someone comes in with a question and is ridiculed. Some members are so full of themselves. I'm a long time member and it's gets worse every day. SMH
N960USQS1ARI5 this is my baseband version.
