Go to apkmirror.com and download the latest Google App and Play Services. Install them and then try.

It might not work on Stock ROM (I didnt have this feature on stock) even if you have all updated gapps ... maybe you can try flashing this GAPPS file... because it has all the latest packages and works with CM12.1 , and that works for me (but you will lose face unlock)
I decided to make a flashable ZIP with Google Now Launcher, Google app and Google Camera Android M, it works 100 % including Ok google command and all camera modes due to LIBS !!!!!
Runs on any rom lollipop, 5.0.2 stock or CM12, 12.1 and based.
The installation is very simple, it is made by TWRP

The link is no longer necessary. The google now launcher and camera now look the same on lollipop as they do on marshmallow when you download them from the play store.

SOD is not related to 4.2.2 only ...you can have it on many roms besides slimroms... as far as I know to generate it just connect hedset (wired) turn on wifi and connect it to charger and make a call then let the screen go off .... but it may not occour all the time ... at least that's when I got SOD on most of the Custom roms ...

Fixed it myself: Uninstall Supersu from supersu options full unroot then flash magisk 16.2 via TWRP
