[MODULE] Volte Enabler for Oreo Roms! - Moto G5 Plus Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey Guys,
I have seen many users in this thread complaining about the volte bug in oreo based roms/oreo roms..
There is a magisk module I have been using since a long time, tho its not my creation but will like to share with everyone..
Try and report!
Thank You!

I asked because there seems to be a bug of some kind with VoLTE with T-Mobile's network and all Oreo ROMs. I don't know enough about it to know how one could have anything to do with the other, but modem/radio files might be to blame.

i can say i have only gotten volte to work on the stock motorola rom. no nougat or oreo roms other than stock. i even extracted the radio from the november update and flashed it to my aicp install but it just left me without signal until i restored an old efs backup.

I had VoLTE on a number of Nougat ROMs--e.g., AICP, Omni, Validus--but never on Oreos; however, the latest Omni & Pixel Experience Oreos at least give me WiFi calling, which also wasn't working... so I've got that going for me.

nice. i dont use wifi calling so i wouldnt have noticed if it works or not on my aicp install. i would guess that oreo might not play well with the nougat radio and we are using a generic or modified radio in the newer roms.

Yeah, I thought about that, too; frustratingly, I don't know enough about coding to help nor do I have any time to learn right now.
Thankfully, there are some awesome devs out there doing great things! :good:

Is this Volte enabler working on Indian variant of Moto G5 Plus ?
I'm on latest Aex 5.1 oreo... Please confirm if its working..

Just to update, the latest FireHound & Validus builds have VoLTE working on T-Mobile US.

Have you posted to the Telegram group? The only provider that's still having the issue is Jio, but that's been ongoing. I can confirm FireHound has VoLTE on T-Mobile US.

Strange it didnt enable my volte but my video calling and wifi calling provisioned are enabled. As moto diasbles with there every phones. I am able to do video call now. Earlier i was unable to.

I lost 4g/LTE on Spring/Ting. Never got it back I have a MintSim, popped it in my phone and have LTE there...the weirdest damn thing.

T-Mo WiFi Calling on custom roms

I'm a maintainer for PAC-Roms, and was trying to see what (if anything) could be done to port these features to custom roms. Has T-Mo added the features to AOSP? Has anyone attempted to compare the AOSP images vs the T-Mo images?

not in aosp, yet at least. and no factory image yet. but itll probably take a version of tmobiles blobs to get volte working on the new radio, and probably wifi calling as well(if it doesnt get put into aosp).

Are you cdma user? Ivan's mm has fixed that, but the other roms still have this bug.
update: didn't see you are using mi3c. yes, Ivan already fixed that in his 5.12.1 build. if it really annoys you, try ivan's latest version 5.12.18.

two temporary solutions for no cdma signal:
1. dirty flash from cm 12.1
2. or add these lines to /system/build.prop of cm13.zip and then clean flash
# Telephony property for fixing cdma
ril.subscription.types=NV,RUIM
ro.telephony.default_network=22
Tested on my MI4LTE-CT, should also work on mi3c or mi4c. it causes mobile network FC, but nothing bad else.

Ivan pushed his fix to mokee's source only, so cm didn't get the bug fixed. Since almost all cancro devs are using mi3/4w, I guess they won't fix it too soon because they even don't know this bug exists.
Edit: I‘m happy to say I was wrong, fix showed up in cm13 0103 changelog.

btw, where to see the changelog? I always get "err02: Change data unavailable. " from http://www.cmxlog.com/13/cancro/, only

You are not going to find stock with volte enabled for Z1. The changes are required in Android source, as well as in modem. In addition, most carriers only allow volte on their own devices.

*# *#4636# *# * Phone Information crashes running v8.1

Hi all,
I am trying to open the Phone Information settings using *# *#4636# *# * and it crashes.
First was running LineageOS 15.1 last version and I thought it was that, then I just changed to Nitrogen OS, wiping System, Data, etc. Clean install and I get same problem.
When I click over Phone Information, crashes with "com.android.phone has stopped" error message.
Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Any advice?
My main target was to enable Volte. I don´t know any other way to get those settings.
Thanks
This seems to be a problem on Oreo ROMs back-ported to N6. Camcory recently patched the AOSIP Oreo ROM and I'm guessing that patch will find its way to other ROMs.

Just for a test, I´ve reinstalled the CM14.1 and it works as it should, I mean, I can access the settings, etc. but "Volte provisioned" is greyed out.
No idea how to enable it.
Ktmom thanks for your information. So, it´s seems is a general 8.1 issue ?? No one has noticed this before?
By the way, related to this matter, How can I access the IMS Settings?
I´ve installed original Google OTA image 7.1 to see how it behaves, and you can access the Phone Information settings, and you can enable/disable all those settings; Volte, WiFi calling, etc.
So it seems LineageOS, Nitrogen, etc they are doing something different.
Cheers

As I posted earlier, this problem was recently addressed. A patched release is in the camcory AOSIP thread. I suspect the fix will make it into future releases of other ROMs.
It is a small subset of users who access this feature. It took a long time for the problem to be reported.

I was nearly to brick my Nexus 6 yesterday. After run AquariOS image (to try Volte), something happened and didn´t recognize my pattern unlock, even after wipe system & data from TWRP, restore backup, etc.
That´s the reason I had to fastboot original OTA image. A nightmare. Now all is back in order, apparently.

Three possibilities:
- build a rom yourself with the fixes
- ask the person who builds your rom to include them
- use a rom where they are already included
