ViPeR4Android for Mi Max 2 - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried V4A on the Xiaomi Mi Max 2? What are your settings or presets for the phone speakers or wired headsets?
I have tried it with a few different impulse response files to try and improve the sound of both my phone speakers and my headphones. For the speakers: I have noticed an major improvement in the loudness when the volume is at 0- 50%, but at 100% volume, there is minimal difference between the with and without V4A, it fact the clarity is much better without V4A. Is this normal for you guys?

Depending on your version, could be that some will work and some not. if you are on Miui, just go and search for Divine Beats, the latest version, and flash it via TWRP. No need for wipe.

I don't understand this. Somebody help. I just got my mi max 2 with China Rom pre-installed and rooted it by unlocking bootloader and flashing twrp. Now my phone is rooted. On my search for installing Viper4android I came across this thread.
Can someone explain step by step on how I can install viper4android on my phone using this particular idea (divine beats flashing coz I don't understand how to search for it).
Hoping to learn more on this forum.
Thanks

Dolby Atmos Lepro 3

Hi Guys,
I have taken the liberty to post Dolby Atmos ported from LeEco Le pro 3 so it can be used for our custom rom’s.
I have tested and working ( including dirty flash over Le Max 2)

It would probably be more efficient to link my entire thread than just upload the specific Atmos to it. However I have an update coming for that specific one either tomorrow or today in which the original link is removed and replaced with a new link + mirror.

On some ROMs/devices streaming + V4A or Dolby does not work. It appears to be working but you can't hear the difference, flashing the deep_buffer fix deletes audio_policy.conf lines. On some devices this could cause a bootloop. If you don't have that problem, there's no need to flash.

I would assume this varies by device. However I wouldn't differentiate it with the one that comes with your stock rom. I include a modified version of the dax_default.xml in which I remove the volume heightening restriction and turn on audio regulation/modifications.
ETA: This allows your audio to reach higher highs, lower lows, and more consistent mids. Rather than a locked sound. Turn the left EQ bar all the way up and use V4A and you'll hear your bass thump without being too overbearing.

Best Sound Mods

Hi guys,
Im listening to a lot of music with my phone and thats why im looking for the audio experience i can get.
Im currently on rooted Stock OOS 4.0.3 and flashed Viper 2.5.0.5
Im using Xiaomi Pro HD (http://www.mi.com/en/headphonesprohd/) which are their newest in ear headphones and have some experience with using viper.
Although effects get boosted quite a bit, i feel like the sound could be clearer and more powerfull. Im trying a lot of settings and IRS for month now, but i never got to a very good result.
Am i just limited by Phone and headphones or is there still some improvement possible with software? Are there any specific settings for my headphones like IRS or Viper-DDC because i never found some. Im ok with settings for equal sounding headphones
Did you only flash viper or did you flash an edition of arise?
Otherwise i would suggest to try the latest Arise Swansong! It will take some time because the possibilities are endless but it's the best I've ever had..

Can you please post the zip file which you are talking about ? and also is this arise working well on 4.0.3 oxos ?
I don't know, it should be as freedom OS has it included.
For arise itself, just search arise xda in Google and you'll find the thread with the files and all needed information and support.
I only flashed the viper4android.zio 2.5.0.5 according to this guide: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/install-viper4android-nougat/
Unfortunally the biggest problem i have is that there is always a disturbance noise in the background, i heard that this is only the problem with the version i am using, so im looking to flash an older one

Best ARISE config for OP5 (OOS)

Hello!
I truly love music so I want the best quality ever! ARISE seems to have differents effects depending on the phone you're using so I'd like to know: for you what is the best ARISE config for OP5?
Thanks a lot!
Hate to say it, but what works for one person will probably sound like crap to you. Aside from different headphones, we all perceive sound differently and have different tastes in what sounds good
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
Thanks for your answer, Arise is such a big mod that I don't know where to start, especially with ICESound mod! But I will test
Believe it or not, the stock Dirac Sound thing is the best for OOS IMO.
I've tried ARISE with many different settings. My preference is stock without ARISE.
Here is my setting, you can try it
Viper DDC : AKG 501
Firequlaizer : acustic
Field surround : 4-5
Headphone surround : level 1
Viper bass : natural 50-6
Viper clarity : natural default
Thanks everyone for your answers! I'm actually testing Dirac
I like paschfirefx ground zero most on my op3.

[SOUND MOD] [ALL ROMS] [MAGISK] Viper4Android

After trying out a lot of different sound mods and apps and patches I always came back to Viper4Android. Simple to use, great sound quality and a lot of customization.
Steps:
Flash the attached Magisk module (v4afx_v1.7.3.zip) through Magisk Manager and press volume up button twice.
After that reboot your device and enter the Viper4Android app.
Next, you need to set up the sound mod.
*I only use Viper4Android for my headphones so I will cover only that part but you could test out different settings for other audio outputs*
In the Viper4Android's menu go to UI setting and set it to expert.
Go to Headset and click Enable, I suggest you put on your headphones now so you can hear the changes in the sounds yourself and tweak them to your liking.
My settings on Redmi Note 5 Pro are:
Spectrum Extension (enabled): Strength: 0,5
FIREqualizer (enabled): Preset: Acoustic
Convolver (enabled); Impulse Response: BBE2.irs (extract the attached BBE 2.zip into Viper4Android/Kernel); Cross Channel: 30%
Dynamic System (enabled); Listening Device: High-end headphone v2; Dynamic Bass:5%
Viper Bass (enabled); Bass mode: Natural bass; Bass Frequency: 100 Hz; Bass Boost: 3,5 dB
Viper Clarity (enabled); Clarity mode:Natural; Clarity:6 dB

There are many Arise editions but I find the attached one simplest to use.
Steps:
1. Flash the attached file (ARISE Sound Systems Deuteronomy 2.2.3 Mac 'n Cheese Edition FINAL) through TWRP
2. Reboot to OS
3. Install Busybox (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox) from Play Store
4. Open the Busybox app and install busybox
5. Enter the Viper4Arise app
Done!
Next, you need to set up the sound mod.

Hi, been trying dozens of Viper. Installs, but driver still Enabled=No. Have Viper on my rooted S5 for almost 4 years. Love it. I got a "new" 935-F using Superman Rom v2.8 7.0 with permissive Superstock Kernel. I tried your method and always wind up with the same Enabled=No on the driver.
Can you suggest something or an alternative if you get a chance?

Working Dolby Atmos + Viber for new 8.1 Oreo Roms like AOSP Extented etc.

Hi!
After many try and fails I found a working version of Dolby Atmos for the new 8.1 Oreo Roms like AOSP Extented, crDroid, Cardinal Aosp etc.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754473447
Flash through TWRP, clear Dalvik and Cache, reboot.
If you have viber installed, use this flash tool to delete viber
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g_9Vvykbb5fCxL9vjM8wOi9-wmbvraBy/view
And use the app Selinux mode changer from store and change to permissive.
This Dolby Atmos version.works together with Viber4android.
Install the same versions of viber and than aml through magisk manager what you see on the screen shot
Instal all the steps from viber with volume up!
For newer versions of Magisk (16.6) you need a newer version of Dolby Atmos.

And use the app Selinux mode changer from store and change to permissive.

I can confirm that this works on recent builds of AICP and AEX. The exception is that I have both the Viper Black and Cheese version :
ViPER4Android_2505_Black_n_Cheese_Edition_Unity_20180325 and DolbyAtmos_Axon7_Oreo_Unity_4.6.2018-2.zip
No issues sounds excellent!

It works for almost everyone else. Rather than just saying it doesn't work for you, if you actually want to get it working, provide more info.
Which phone do you have, what mods are you using?
What Rom ( version date) are you using, which kernel, firmware, etc.
Does CDLA work for anything else? Do you have a second pair of CDLA headphones to try?

So it seems that the DAC converter in your headphones is bad.
Sent from my LEX727 using XDA Labs
I did the steps (used tsongming's and Oel's files) mentioned here and while Dolby works on speaker and any earphone with the 3.5mm adapter, when I use it with my CDLA earphones the sounds remains unchanged and when I checked it by flashing Paranoid Android with Dolby Atmos magisk module it worked on every earphone. What am I doing wrong?
Firmware 20s X727, default kernel, ROM: crdroid (latest version), using SELinux permissive.

First, be in Permissive mode while flashing these audio mods.
Flash Dolby and the Audio Modification Library.
Boot to system to confirm that Dolby is installed.
Add Black and Cheese Mod, through Magisk.
Use root privileged file manager and go the the sd card.
Look for a file called ariseparameters.prop open it as a text file and locate where it says " install.add.libraries"
Add =true it should read:
PHP:
install.add.libraries=true
Click save.
Add Black and Cheese Mod, through Magisk. ..Again, it will uninstall
Reboot to Recovery , flash: Black and Cheese Mod - Now it will be installed with the effects libraries now permanent because of the prop file change
Reboot to system
Now in viper you should no have the additional sound effects and presets.
Be sure to complete setup as previously advised by going into Viper settings, change "FX compatible mode" to compatible.
Select "Lock effect mode" and choose headset
Everything should now work.

I am using a different method:
First flash Dolby Atmos and Audi Modifivation Library.
Boot into system and check the functionality from Dolby.
Than go into Magiskmanager an search in Downloads for Viber 1.6.5.
Install it with volume button up .
Reboot and check.
Now i flashed cDroid and installed sucsessfully Dolby Atmos and Viber. G5
