Bootloop mate 10 after downgrade fw - Huawei Mate 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

hello, ive downgraded fw from 128 to 119, and now i'm in boot loop.
what can i do? i've tried hisuite but nothing.
i've tried hwota and downloaded firmware to try to do flash update but when i doubleclick to ota.bat don't do anything.
any help pls ?

Have you tried going into erecovery and doing a factory reset.??

I did that too. Sadly i didnt back up. But yeah if you did it via FF, you need to restore factorg settings via erecovery

You just need to power of the device and then make a factory reset.
I ve don it recently.

factory reset? i can only boot to fastboot, but once there i can t do anything.
i can i do factory reset if i can t boot into system?
hisuite desn not reconize the phone

Press and hold volume down/up (opposite of fast boot) and power. Release power when android/logo shows up. Should take you to erecovery

Someone knows a way to update the phone or something without a factory reset , i dont want to lose data, please.

sadly if you are experiencing boot loop already because of downgrading FW, no other way to restore phone unless factory reset via e-recovery.
So before downgrading, back-up your data first

P9 soft-brick? Or small hope?

I have a Huawei P9 AL10, changed CUST to L09C432 and had installed the Android 7.0 beta on it. I tried to downgrade back to Android 6.0 with eRecovery by holding power and both volume buttons 3 button combo and then started to flash the L09C432B182 FULL UPDATE.APP package via dload SD card. When I boot, instead of booting normally, it boots to eRecovery and loops every time I restart my phone and asks me to download the full package from the server. I try to flash a full package from EVA-AL10 but it says wrong package... I cannot boot normally anymore and the phone is stuck and I don't know what to do now. Anyone know if this is a soft brick or can I still fix the phone?
[EDIT] Now solved, I factory reset my phone via volume up and power. The phone boots normally.

Send it to service
If you haven't unlocked the bootloader/installed TWRP/Rooted, then yes I'd agree with the above comment and send to service.
Otherwise follow the instructions here.... https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/help/tutorial-recovering-p10-p10-brick-t3600211

I'd asked the service center but they said will wipe my data, is there anyway to retrieve the data back?
Just for understanding: Did you unlock your Bootloader?

i can't access recovery mode, the phone keeps boot looping until the battery is drained, i tried to access recovery mode with the boutons combination to do a factory reset but i can't access it, it doesn't work, the phone stays stuck in the boot loop, i actually don't know how to install the firmware i didn't find it.
once the phone has some power it starts booting and rebooting until the battery is drained, when i plug it it starts booting and rebooting on it's own.

eRecovery is different from Recovery (I wrote above the phone to be connected to charger while booting with Vol+ kept pressing; in Recovery there is no option for Installing the latest - but the option is present in eRecovery), but anyway, you probably cannot boot to eRecovery either ;(
It could be also possible to reinstall firmware from HiSuite but you could not connect if you cannot boot
For flashing from Fastboot, you must have Bootloader and FRP unlocked (but to unlock, you must first boot to the system)- if I understood correctly, you didn't play with Bootloader, Fastboot, flashing, etc yet, hence your FRP and BL are locked
Uhm can anyone help me? pls. I unlocked my bootloader and flashed open kirin AEX P1 Beta and it caused me bootloop maybe because I fail to factory reset the second time or at least can I reflash the custom rom to make it work again but I can't access my p10 on fastboot

Phone stuck in factory reset loop

Hey Guys,
I unlocked my bootloader and installed TWRP in order to try to upgrade to Oreo.
After a while i decided to just stop with it and leave it stock.
I relocked the bootloader, but now it is hangs at 99% factory reset. Rebooting the phone just brings it back to factory reset.
How do i get in to Fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader again and see if it will just boot up?
Tried different key combo's but it only boots in to the factory reset procedure.....
1. Connect the usb cable already with the pc
2. Press and hold vol- and the power button
3. Connect the phone with the pc when the screen turns black
4. Still hold the buttons until you can see the fastboot screen

Thanks! But i already tried that. Does not work. Always goes to Factory Reset.
Will let the battery drain for now and see what it does then.
i think you flashed the oreo compatible twrp on your phone this makes your nougat phone stuck in boot loop. Try to flash the nougat compatible twrp or try the stock recovery.
I had a problem just like this.
All I did was wait for the battery to drain while it was on the reset screen, and on next bootup it didn't didn't go to that screen.

I let it die, and then i plug in the charger and it boots. I see the initial setup screen but it then reboots again and goes to the Factory Reset loop again.
Guess i will keep trying
Ok i got a bit further.
When i let it die, and then plug it in it boots to android. But as soon as i reboot it, it will go back in to the Factory Rset procedure.
Also adb reboot bootloader does not send it to bootloader so i can unlock the bootloader.
I also tried putting firmware (UPDATE.APP) on an external SD card, but it will not do anything with that either.
Anyone any other suggestion?? Need to either unlock the bootloader, or somehow flash original firmware/recovery.

No unfortunately not. When it is booted after draining it, i can do adb reboot bootloader but it just does not go to bootloader. Just reboots back in to factory reset loop.

i think you already need to send it to huawei service center since you cant boot to fastboot.
I really hoped there was something i could do since it does bootup after draining the battery.
Somehow the factory reset procedure should be stopped so that it boots up after a reboot. There must be some virtual switch to set or something. Problem is i only have adb to do something.
I managed to fix the issue with a tip from another thread.
After draining it again i let it boot again. Then i did a factory reset from the settings menu.
The phone then rebooted and did a lowlevel factory reset. That also was stuck on 99%.
I then rebooted the phone by long pressing the on/off button. The phone then restarted the lowlevel factory reset and that succeeded.
Now its working normally again

Hello, I don't understand how you arrived to the menu to select factory reset. For me even if draining battery, it continues to loop in factory reset and stuck 99%. . can you explain the procedure step by step. thank you !

If after draining it still does not boot normally then this does not work for you unfortunately.

try to use this service firmware it will update your phone into B364
- put the dload folder into the root of a fat32 formatted SD_Card
- shutdown the phone
- While pressing vol_up + vol_down press power_on button the upgrade will be lunched automatically
if the file does not work please provide us with the exact phone model to get the correct file

Ehhhhmmmm...... I solved this already
I wrote that in a post too......
where is the solution to this problem
I have the same problem, what did you do to solve it?

P20 Pro won't boot

I was using the FLASH tool to update my phone to the latest version 9.1.0.327 but something mustve happened because the install failed. After that, I tried to fix it but upon rebooting the device wouldn't boot and would go to erecovery. However, it's unable to stay in the erecovery for more than approx 30 seconds so I can't recover my phone through erecovery.
I tried manually flashing the firmware files through fastboot but that doesn't do anything either - it's the same situation and the phone won't boot.
Anyone got ideas on what to do to fix my phone?
exactly the same issue (9.1.0.326 update)
it wont stay in eRecovery either. its bricked for now
UPDATE - All i can manage to do for now is - booot into fast boot, (usb plugged in hold DOWN + POWER)
then flash twrp
Fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk "D:\Apps\Android\P20Pro\TWRP-3.2.1-Pretoriano80-P20P.img"
reboot, now
power on holdin DOWN VoL with the cable plugged in, TWRP. If that doesnt work enter eRecovery, factory reset! Reboot, TWRP comes up automatically
Now i have TWRP back at least. dont know what to do from there
anyone of you can send me boot.img of the 9.1 version please i need it
thanks a lot
