help! cant create new files on storage "this device has either stopped responding" - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

help! cant create new files on storage "this device has either stopped responding"
Whenever I enable MTP and try to make new files/folders on either the internal memory or sdcard I get the message, "this device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected". Im stumped how to fix it. It makes it so you cant cant create any new file on the phone through MTP or file transfer.
I tried many different things. It may be a permission issue, but that too I tried to fix, but nothing stuck. Im using a custom rom Resurrection Remix. It has been working fine for a long time, but now Im getting this error.
Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks

[Q] SetiroN's Kernel v1.5.6xt Issue

I tried installing SetiroN's kernel v1.5.6xt on my phone (specs are in my sig) and everything seemed to be working fine. However, when I tried to transfer files from my computer to my phone via USB, it wouldn't allow me to view certain directories or copy over files because there was some error message that said "Parameter incorrect" or something like that. Also, when I tried to access the download folder on my phone from my computer, a message would pop up saying "Insert disk I:" or something. Any clue on how I could resolve this issue? Thanks in advance!

I had the same issue, my solution was to switch to speedmod kernel. I spent about 5 hours looking all over for the solution (didn't find anything that helped). My only advice is try the non xt version, an older version, or a totally different kernel (my solution).
Good luck!

Problems rooting please help

This is becoming the hardest way to root apparently -_-
I`m trying to get z4root on to my Galaxy S Captivate from Rogers (SGH-I896) running 2.2
I`ve downloaded the apk file and placed it on my desktop, when trying to copy the file to my phone I get this error message.
(I tried to post a picture here but apparently I need to post 8 times?*fail)
It says an unexpected error is preventing the operation.
Error 0x80070057: The parameter is incorrect.
clicking try again just prompts the message again.
Phone is connected in USB mass storage mode.
USB debugging is on.
It appears the app is no longer available in the market so is this the only way to get it on my phone?
I've literally tried downloading the apk 5 different times from different places and they all give the same message when I try to copy, also tried copying the file pretty much everywhere possible on the phone. any help would be greatly appreciated.
1. make sure you turn on the debugging mode;
2. connect your phone using usb cable;
3. i used one click root to root the captivate, search that one in the forums;
4. follow the instruction of that root app;

[Solved] Choose zip from sdcard. No files found.

Hi everybody I`d appreciate a lot if you provide me with any sort of help. The problem is following: while I was flashing a new rom my phone went out of power. After reboot I received a continuous loop of boot screen=>install screen=>reboot. In recovery mode when I try to choose the rom`s zip file I have no options. It says "No files found". I tried to mount sdcard and as far as I can see there was no failures. However, mounting emmc results in error. Equally, I tried to connect via Odin, but it does not recognize the device. Please,help me to get at least to the flashing point.

just mount phone under USB storage and copy the ROM files to the SD card that can be read by your phone and Flash the ROM from that location in CWM . To fix USB connections problems, read this

Thank you for the quick answer. I tried to mount it under USB storage however my computer did not recognize the phone. Following your advice I started to check the connection. The main obstacle was indeed in that Odin was not able to recognize the device under Windows 8.1. After installation of Samsung USB Driver v.1.5.25.0-retail I managed to re-flash my device smoothly.
