Any custom ROM that allows setting cellular data and network type independently? - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

The stock ROM allows 4G network only on the SIM that's set for Mobile Data.
Is there any custom ROM that would make it independent? Something like setting Mobile data to SIM 1 and its network mode to 3G, and have the second SIM for voice only with 4G network.
I haven't rooted the phone yet but if there's solution to this, I'm fine with rooting and flashing custom ROM.
Thanks

[Q] MVNO support on XWJS3

anyone has stock or a JS3 based rom installed and is able to use MVNOs (bob, yesss, 3, ....) without enabling data roaming?
now i have installed Darky 9.2 and it does not work with data roaming disabled on mobile virtual network operator "bob" in austria. i would like to know, if it will work on stock or Doc`s rom before i try it and have to install all again after a wipe.
here is one report that it should work, but it is the only one i can find via google:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3499#c132
Hello,
I'm on a Belgian MVNO network, and i'm able to use 3G with data roaming disabled on stock JS3 (APN manually configured).
We have only 3 operators here, but at least 15 or 20 MVNO's
Don't know if it will work for you in Austria, but here it works
thanks for replying! so i think darky`s 9.2 isn`t really based of JS3 or only partly, cause u have to enable data roaming for MVNOs. i will try doc`s, or if this doesn`t work the stock one and deodex it for theming.

Fully restore your phone using my Fast / Easy unbrick method, just search the general section. (All it does is restore your phone to complete stock.)
You can try other stuff, but this method seems to fix most issues that aren't "easy" to fix.
I will try this method.
But I want to know if there are something can be changed or flashed other than this rom.
I want to fix my phone's network.
It not work on cdma , gsm or wcdma.
I flash xt883 rom, but nothing happened.
Can i flash radio? Change hardware setting.
who can tell me.

You don't need the xt883 ROM in order to use the phone on any foreign gsm. The phone must be unlocked by Verizon, then you need to flash the xt883 radio.img, then edit/replace the build.prop. I would flash back to stock first, since the xt883 is a weird ROM, but you probably don't have to. There are already plenty of threads where the explanations have been given, so look around: search Verizon D3 on T-Mobile, D3 on AT&T/T-Mobile, etc.
You will have to turn off 'automatically select operator' in settings and choose manually the one you're using. T-Mobile users will only get edge and below, while AT&T users will get 3g.

I'm not sure what is wrong with your connection, but mine has problems sometimes where the phone will not recognize any available gsm networks. It's sometimes like this after I reboot my phone, but if changing my settings doesn't work, rebooting again will usually work.
Is your phone unlocked by Verizon? Did you flash the xt883 radio.img since changing your ROM? Did you replace your build.prop file with the tweaked one? I will try to find these resources for you if you still need them, but you should be able to find them by searching if you haven't already. After doing these things, you just have to reboot then go to your settings and tell it to prefer gsm. On T-Mobile, you wont get umts. On AT&T you will get gsm and umts.
In settings, you need to select wifi & network settings -> mobile networks -> network mode -> then choose gsm/umts, back to mobile networks -> under gsm/umts settings, click select network, then choose gsm only for T-Mobile or automatic for AT&T, then click operator select, select network and choose your operator. Select automatically will have a check box next to it and you should deselect it. I didn't have to put in my apn settings, because my sim card provides those automatically.
If these settings tweaks don't work for you then I really have no clue what will fix it because it is likely that something else is wrong. I can't be of much more help without seeing the device. I would suggest to keep playing around in settings and just use your head to see why it's not connecting. If you are getting voice and text service on your carrier, data shouldn't be a problem if your settings are done correctly.
Good luck!

Problems with mobile data N4 ELITE LITE

So a few days ago I flashed N4 Elite lite rom on my S3 LTE i9305. The problem is that I would turn on mobile data but it wouldn't work. The phone shows that it is turned on however I get no internet connection.
When I flashed it first time, I didn't choose any modems during the installation and that time mobile data didn't work. So I flashed the rom again with one of the modems for i9305. Mobile data worked fine first day then the next day it stopped working. So which modem should I choose to make mobile data work permanently.

Hi,
Missing/wrong APN (Access Point Name) in network settings could also be the problem... if right modem doesn't help.
EDIT: if it's not APN related, you should also :
- check network mode to match your data plan (if you don't have LTE plan, don't choose 2g/3g/4g mode)
- try another modem (recommanded : latest XXUFOA1 from official i9305 firmware.)

Did you try reconfiguring the access point for your carrier?
Or changing your network preference to allow only 4g
If not, last try could be finding the dev tools code you type on phone pad and changing the network type preference from there. By code I mean those that start with *#*#7379#*#* something like this

4g data not found

im in spain , use digi mobile sim card on ux8 android9 just fill in the apn and turn on roaming to open but this method is not work on ux9 android10 , does anyone have a solution?
Try a network reset if you haven't.
