Google thinks I have Doogee Mix - Xiaomi Mi MIX Questions & Answers

Hi, since installing MIUI 9 I can't solve this issue. Google thinks I'm using a Doogee Mix instead of a Xiaomi Mi Mix. This might be me but I think that all Google apps look kinda zoomed in as a result (I think the Doogee has a smaller screen size). If anyone knows how to fix that, please let me know. Before, when I used LineageOS and MIUI8 no such thing was the cause.
imgur(dot)com/3AFsApz

I got the same thing when I switched from AICP to MIUI 9 last week. I only stayed on MIUI for a few hours before switching back, but I remember getting an email from them mentioning my 'Doogee Mix'.
Happened on a device years ago too (Moto G detected as some LG). Never found out how to change it but doing a factory reset and setting it up from scratch fixed it.

Same boat. Switched to MIUI a few days ago and now looking to go back to a AOSP rom. Switched to MIUI because when using Bluetooth in my truck AOSP roms give bad feedback to the person I am on the road with. I drive a lot for work so it's been a huge complaint. However notifications suck so hard on MIUI that I just have to go back.

And same ****ty notifications. If MIUI had stock notifications I'd be all over it.

You can install some apps to have material extended bar and another to have an advanced notifications look likes stock....
Anyway no issue in stable branch here...
It's all i can say !

You've mentioned Magnum Opus, so i thought you might be installed the Am3d zirene module as well which is already included in Opus. Sigh, it didn't work on Nougat builds no matter what.
Yet I saw there is a magisk module which supports am3d but magisk gave me a headache by failure of flashing due to dual boot. Without it; my combination(Am3d + Dolby atmos + Dolby digital + Viper4Arise) becomes insufficient. On nougat volume is decreased probably by mixer_paths or something else, so i downgraded to 7.5.4 MM Epic(again) lol.
Btw the Google also thought that Im using New Doogee Mix(some time ago received a mail). Ignored.

I can relate... I had the same issue when I updated to the latest available ROM... I received an email on my google account informing me that I just signed in using a "doogee mix" -- I immediately downgraded after only half a day, I decided to go back to MM software... Had to use Mi Tool to re-flash global MM firmware AND RE-ROOT. It honestly is much better than the Nougat Mui9... Now I've gone with Resurrection Remix and so far it's been treating me well.

Same problem here. I thought it was a signal issue. Until I flashed the 7.0 radio on top of 7.1.1 and the same issue. I think the official release of 7.1.1 has some bugs.

Good finding. I'll try out.
I'm also experiencing this issue, I've tried downgrading the Phone app through "Play store uninstall", unfortunately on 6.0.13 the bug is still here (current version is 7.0.14), dunno about downgrading it further, but had it been related to the Phone app, we'd hear reactions from Pixels / Nexuses 6P/5X, so it's definitely our update to 7.1.1, which is bad news, I don't know how quick Google will be with the next version now that we're past our official updates period.

Its not only on stock 7.1.1. I've got the same issue on PureNexus 7.1.1 (january patch). The speakers are working fine when hearing to music or watching videos, but with the speaker phone its awful on the other side. They are also squealing when getting notfications.

Black Screen of Death BSOD

Announcement: Maybe we are close to a software solution
Dear Friends,
my HM2014813 has several problems:
On some AOSP roms I get BSOD: When screen gets locked and black, I can't turn it on unless I remove and reinsert battery.
On LineageOS PowerOFF does not work properly. Ends in a situation like BSOD
After booting into TWRP the touchscreen is unresponsive. I have to lock and unlock, to get response.
I think I'm not alone with this problem. Most of us get recommendations like that: Replace Screen
This problem is not present in every rom. So there should be a solution without hardware modification. What else can we try?
For reference here are the HM codes: source
Redmi 2 1/8GB & 2/16GB/Prime = HM2014811 / 17/18/21 (wt88047)
Redmi 2 A / Enhanced = HM2014812 / 13/16 (wt86047)
Redmi 2 Pro = HM2014819
Before I continue, I'd like to remind you that Redmi 2A is a china-only phone, the chipset isn't Qualcomm based, but Leadcore based. My fellow friends that I know that have a WT86047 aren't Redmi 2A's. They're running Qcom and have no signal loss in my country.
I picked WT88047, but honestly I've seen them in all of those variants (except Redmi 2A variants). I have 4 friends that bought 2016's batch of shipped RM2 (Prime or just RM 2). These friends of mine didn't buy at the same place, 2 of them bought it online and the 2 others bought it from a local vendor (not an official Xiaomi store). From those 4 friends of mine, 2 of my friends got the HM2014813 (WT86047), one got HM2014818 (WT88047) and the last one got a HM2014811 which is the same as mine.
All of them (including me) faced the same bugs (BSOD, screen freezing, TWRP not working). So it's not just a specific variant of RM2, but all of them. Hypothetically (CMIIW) all RM2's that are shipped at 2016 above nearly all of them have this bug (unless you bought it from an official Xiaomi store, which is pretty much hard to find, because Xiaomi don't show, even sell, old phones). 2 of my friends sold their devices, one friend of mine sticked it with it's current case and stayed on stock MIUI & my last friend (with the HM2014813 - WT86047) followed my lead by changing his screen with an official screen that he got from a relative that has an unused RM2, bought from an official vendor. Now me and him can go custom rom or modding all we want without those old bugs that used to plague our phones.
So to the RM2's batch 2016 are all shipped with bad and faulty hardware parts. Mostly nearly of them are faulty sensors. Or maybe those RM2's that are shipped are refurbished RM2's that are given bad parts or maybe bad LCD screens. Like I said before in my previous posts about this, It's the sensors. They are totally bugged. I don't know what made them that way. Why I said it was the sensors? Because my old front sensors got changed when I checked it with a system specs app. My local part vendors sell RM2 LCD's and when you buy a LCD, it's a whole package, you can't by per-parts (unless you disassemble them one buy one). What I mean "it's a whole package" is if you buy an LCD, you will get the touchscreen and front sensors with it. If it's not the sensors, maybe it's the touchscreen (just using my logic here)
I don't know about fixes and stuff (without having to do hardware modif). I'm not a developer, I don't understand that much about BLOBs and shims. Well let's hope someone who's a developer and has a RM2 with those bugs show up with a fix so that people don't have to do any hardware modifications on their bugged RM2's.

Well custom roms are for modification, so If you're not impressed with how the music sounds like in custom roms, you could always just install a mod for it. There's Viper4Android, Dolby Digital Plus, AM3D Zirene, etc. Just find what you need, flash the mod per instructions you need and voila, you've got better music in you're custom rom. Installing these sound mods even work well in MIUI. You've got dozens of Camera apps that may (or maynot) go better on in custom roms than MIUI. Just saying though, if you love MIUI it's fine to stay on MIUI.

I tried it once when my device was still having those bugs. It doesn't work. At all.
I had two redmi 2 online and both had the BSOD issue. It didn't matter which MIUI version it was on, it can still get triggered into the BSOD.
This is the procedure that triggers it.
1.Start an app that generates a lot of objects
2.Keep the device with the app until the back is warm/hot
3.Exit from the app or click home
4.Now quickly press the side power button to turn off screen
5.Redmi Black Screen and cut off from power even if you had music app on.
I have concluded that it might be a hardware issue since I had test another none online redmi 2 with these redmi 2 with the same MIUI version. What should triggered the same effect did not affect the none online redmi 2.
Perhaps using a soft lockscreen button might be able to avoid this issue.
Mine starts getting this problem after I changed the display (bought cheap from aliexpress). Never had a single problem before, while now miui is the only rom that works

There you go, another living proof that BSoD is because of a faulty display. Did you change it again? Or are you still using the cheap screen you bought from AliExpress?

Then you should thank the devs for pulling this one off. Either they've tweaked or fixed what created the bug or because Android Oreo doesn't communicate with device drivers the same way as it's predecessors. Thanks for testing Oreo and latest Lineage. I'll recommend these to my other pals that are still bugged with BSoD. Cheers :highfive:

I am completely with u. With IR blaster in xuefer i wouldn't have changed to the Ashwins lineage, which is good too, and he did a respectfull super job, but battery is weaker, drains faster. However, i don't know what safety violation on GPL was meant to be....... In xuefers. Nevertheless i am the only Person with headphone Jack problems in lineage. I would go back to xuefers, if ir-Blaster is fixed. If battery in Ashwins gets better, and no headphone jack probs i would stay with Ashwins, cause of ir-Blaster, which has great function.

Same here if was to go official i woul probly change but not at the moment the batterylife on Xuefers is just insane sleeps like a baby 0 drop over night.Besides Xuefer could decide to come back and then we would have some competition on our hands.
Anyone wish to increase battery life, sure check out root booster by Dominik on playstore. I have seen a huge improvement and I am using extreme mode battery boost. I am currently on lineage is by Ashwin(12/03). Using for last couple of hours.
Avg battery use: 1.9%/ hr
Sot: 3.6 %/ hr
Further I am using Greenify aggressive doze and few kernel tweaks.

and what are the other issues in xuefer's rom?
am currently on ashwins. just waiting to have some free time to flash xuefer's rom, out of curiosity.
I'm actually looking for a rom that I will use for long term. I just don't have the time to keep on flashing roms. Will find out that's stable and use it for months
xuefers sleeps like a baby because his ROM uses "these apps" - Brevent.
Brevents is kinda similar thing to Greenify....
I use Greenify on Ashwins 12/03 build and it sleeps like a happy baby!

Intermittently Unable to Receive Calls

HI I am on MIUI Global 12.0.3 (QFKMIXM) Stable ROM 10 QKQ1.190825.002 and this week, my phone suddenly is not able to receive calls which happens intermittently, sometimes I can receive calls, sometimes not, but so many people called me this week (food deliveries, package deliveries, surgery call for my Wife) and they all said that yes they did call me and that I did not even receive an SMS or Missed Call notification.
I don't know if this symptom is related to finally making a XIAOMI account and logging into it via the phone's main settings.
Also I noticed since then, while rebooting the phone I get this notification that XIAOMI services could not be activated on both SIMs 1 and 2
This to me is a sad spectacle, I had this phone for about one year now and I admit to having it dropped a few times.
What could be the issue here guys? Would like to know if this is SIM carrier related or purely a manifestation of a hardware failure?
Damn, I don't want to buy a new phone.
PS I opted out of the Beta versions of Google Phone App and Messages
Anyone who have experienced this? please help and chime in??

Okay which ROM did you flash? Pixel ROM or Lineage OS? Is it worth it?
Sorry bout the late reply, I got pixel experience rn but tbh use whatever, and I would say its worth it just be careful if it's ur first time, don't break your phone. Pixel ROMs feel hella snappy and smooth.

Normal quality is better but tbh the wide angle is ass, it distorts the corners.
