Sent from my Moto G5S Plus using XDA Labs

Yep, ALE21 EMUI 4.0+ or something idk.
People say if I root or unlock my phone, it will brick your phone.
Do you got a tutorial video that really legit works?
Would be amazing if you give me a video or xda link how to unlock your phone + root.

If you have even a slightest idea of what you are doing, you won't be able to brick your phone.
You just need to unlock bootloader(which is most difficult part because you need to get key from huawei) There are tutorials about that.
Then flash TWRP in unlocked bootloader.
Also I think you must have system-less root or phone will boot loop.
Look for p8lite mega thread for more info. If you are rooting with superSU you need to flash 1.zip(found in thread) before flashing latest SuperSU to make it install in system-less mode.

Here is what ive learned
The only information i can find other than specs is by using the chinese search engine Baidu. I have had to use Google translate to read anything. Have you gone to the Chinese zte website? Thats where i have found some information. I even called Zte and they had never heard of the phone. Good luck and please share if you find anything.

Maybe it was necessary to root that way in the older versions but now I just flash SuperSU.zip from here and it works with no problem at all

Guide to Root without Pc

Hello,
I'm buying much devices, test it and sell it.
But I like the zuk z1 very much (SOT is awesome)
So I search for a possibility to root the device,
Without going to the pc (adb method or smth) or just lazy like me.
Setup:
New z1 / 3AJ Firmware
Download kingroot Click me
Guide:
Download kingroot and open it,
Follow the instructions. U should be rooted.
Proof in the attachment, I hope it works for u all.
Bugs:
Some apps doesn't work. Better battery stats is one who don't work.
Edit:
BBS worked! , need two reboots to get it to work.
Maybe more, report if u try this method.
Just wait for CyanogenMod, no MS-Apps, no Bing, no 1 million Google Apps, Root just one click...
Hm.
U can freeze or de-install all that ****ty apps. ^^
Won't rooting stop the software updates which it clearly needs? That's what's stopping me atm
You can also get Supersume at the plays store to get rid of KingRoot, and put in CF Supersu.

I recall seeing that link a while back, but I could not find it, but I heard about Supersume, so I went that route instead.
I have ordered my Zuk Z1 on Thursday. I hope it will arrive until Tuesday. So I'm orientating already about how to root and so on. I don't see why you should root with Kingroot as you don't get updates from Cyanogen anymore when you have rooted the phone. It's a lot easier to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and than flash SuperSu in my opinion, isn't it? Or do I miss something?
As far as I know, the problem is not Kingroot, but rather that in process of rooting the system partition is changed to read and write (r/w). Now every time the ota update script is running, they check if the that is the case and if so won't install the ota.
Just btw. I read in an other post here, that SuperSU replaces some files and that even if you should unroot, they still change them back, which also prohibits the OTA update script from running.
Which ever way you root and whatever recovery you have installed, you can still sideload the the updates, without loosing any of your data.
Download the "...ham-signed.zip" from this link
Here is the link to the post about the OTA files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/development/official-ota-update-links-ota-updating-t3226990
And give Breadcrust and Radii a thanks next time you see one of their posts
P.S.: I have no clue of any of these things/ I am in no way a developer, it's just what I have found out so far, what it comes down to...

How to Root my N6 w/o PC?

Hello XDA forums,
I really don't like the issue of trying to set the drivers of fastboot/google and so on....also all of these adb commands.
Is there a way to unlock bootloader & root by:
1) one of these "1 click" tools that do everything for the use? (such as "wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit")
2) Just do everything by the phone? (if there is a possible to install some how a recovery such as twrp and than root by some app?)
Could anybody guide me through the steps, if needed?
Many thanks!

AFAIK you will need a pc to 1)unlock your bootloader and 2)flash TWRP. After that the rest can be done locally. I also never used any toolkit. Making it easy is making it more dangerous IMHO.

So at least once you need to connect your phone to a desktop computer. It can be practically running anything, within reason of course: Wiindows. Mac OSX, Linux (almost any distro).
You need to unlock your bootloader with one command, but a warning here: Unlocking the bootloader will erase everything from your phone..
Then you need to install a custom recovery, preferably TWRP. After that everything can be done from the phone itself. Well at least until you soft brick it somehow, then you'll might have to use the PC again.
Also two things:
1. No OTAs for rooted phones
2. Don't lock your bootloader if you want to mess with it, because with a locked bootloader, and Enable OEM Unlocking set to off, and without TWRP, if you soft brick it accidentally, you are boned.

Ha ha, or I don't want my birthday to be on the day I was born every year ?
I can recommend the NTRT, the Nexus Telepathic Rooting Tools.
OK.
I want to do that with a toolkit, only bcs it install the drivers.
What Is the most recommended and easiest to use?
I do looking for the 1 click do all.
Does NTRT do that?
Thank you all.
we are eventually goung to have a "my n6 is bricked, how do i fix it with one click" thread here. seriously though, thats what happens when you use toolkits, but do no real research about modding your device.
Toolkits are fine if you first understand what they are doing. Otherwise it's like giving a hand grenade to a child to play with.

i agree with you. if there is somebody who knows the ins and outs already, a one click root would be great. and there will be. problem is that marshmallow just came out, and a few things have changed, like like yoe also need a custom kernel to have root on marshmallow.

There is a reason you're pushing this topic, and I'm quite sure it's because you would feel safer, if there was a tool that did the scary things instead of you. Well, there's no such tool. If you were willing to search XDA, you would find out that the first two weeks after Marshmallow came out were about people bricking their Nexus 6s with toolkits. Then the toolkit got updated and suddenly it knew that is has to flash a modified boot.img too for the root not to brick the phone. But for two weeks it didn't know, because it wasn't necessary for Lollipop. And it will only work until the next security update comes out. And that's once a month.
Meanwhile those who were willing to use the search function, and learned the five minute procedure, were able to update their rooted phones to the next security update and were able to root it as soon as the new modified boot image came out.
And this above is not something somebody will put in a help, or instructions for future updates.
Actually, this is my first time and I was able to do it pretty easily.
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock
my bootloader was unlocked within 30 seconds of turning it on.
then, you can easily root via CF Auto root. Just put it into fastboot then doubleclick on the windows, then root, etc....
or.............go into fastboot flash recovery twrpxxxx.img, then it always offers to run SuperSU, and you get custom recovery and root at the same time, etc......
actually the biggest pain is unlocking the bootloader. My Galaxy S4 already was unlocked, so all I did was use goomanager, flash TWRP which always offers to run SuperSU if you don't have it.
Pretty easy, I did unlock bootloader, root, and custom recovery in 10 min.
---------- Post added at 01:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:44 AM ----------
............................Then I got sick of stock Google's ROM in 15 min and wiped it and put a custom ROM instead.
Thank you all so much...
@mikeprius
Thank you so much for the info'!
But, could you plz write more details? such as:
1. How did you installed the drivers? (from my expirience, many times the pc dosent install this easily).
I just need the Google oem driver and that's it?
2. When drivers was set - did you made anything in your phones settings? Which?
3. What did you had to do before pushing the files? (Like...put all the files in the same folder? *which files?)
4. And then entered to fastboot mode and typed in these commands in pc:
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock
Regarding your last sentence ("or...."):
If i just flash the recovery via fastbot mode I can enter to twrp recovery and it offers to flash the SuperSU?
Sounds to me the best option.
Thanks!
1. The drivers were set from a previous device, so I didn't have to set them, but they can be downloaded and set though.
2. You need to enable developer options and select OEM unlock and USB debugging.
3. I didn't push the files, I just had them on my computer and ran fastboot commands.
4. Those commands are to unlock the bootloader.
There are a lot of different ways to do the same thing (Root, custom recovery, unlock bootloader)
1. Run CF Auto Root on a locked bootloader. It will unlock it automatically (Chainfire has it set that way), root, then download Flashify app and flash the latest img of TWRP.
2. Run fastboot commands to manually unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, then use TWRP's SuperSU which will root it.
3. Run fastboot commands to unlock bootloader, run CF Autoroot which will root and load SuperSU, then flash TWRP via Flashify or fastboot.
There are many different ways to do the same thing. I actually just googled youtube videos and watched them.
TWRP has SuperSU and root built in. TWRP knows if you don't have it and offers to load it for you.
I went the scenic route just because, but presumably you can achieve all (3) using Option #1 without having to deal with fastboot, adb, etc.....Chainfire's script runs automatically.
I realy try to help people but users that run into problems because of the usage of tookits (and innability to solve problems and/or even lack the most basic knowledge needed) should ask the toolkit dev. for support imo, and not boughter users that have invested time and effort to gain that knowledge to clean up their mess. Period

You have to unlock bootloader first and flash TWRP recovery. It's pretty much the same across all HUAWEI devices.
Thanks for the suggestions... However I am stuck at the first step getting the unlock code... The english version of the online unlock mask does not work at all, and in the chinese one I get an error... Huawei Support doesn't seam to know why it is not working. They just started selling those in Germany a couple Days ago... maybe thats why it is not working yet... (I managed to unlock the bootloader for an Honor 4C yesterday)

No I haven't tried... Since I completed the setup of my phone by now, there is no real rush to root it anymore (I was hoping I need to do it only once - it is not that much work, so I am pretty lazy I guess...)... Also once my phone turned of with 35% Battery remaining, therefore I would like to monitor this situation before I void my warranty...
Hi,
if you want to root your honor 5c, you can try this : http://www.osroots.com/huawei-honor-5c-how-to-root-huawei-honor-5c-osroots/
Use SuperSu 2.65, not the beta
Just to let you know, I wasn't able to root my Honor 5C with SuperSU 2.74 Beta, but 2.65 stable did the thing right.
I've just followed Modaco's thread, and used Chrome Traduction feature to know what was displayed in chinese to unlock the bootloader. Installing TWRP was then easy.
Edit - found it here, flashed it, n to access just press volume up+vol down+power, then installed supersu 2.65 and thats all
I've successfully unlocked my bootloader, but now i need to install twrp and supersu, where can i find the proper twrp recovery image for my NEM-L22
I was able to flash my NEM-L51 :
Got the unlock code following the goo.gl link
Unlocked the bootloader following the modaco procedure, the official one (don't forget to enable "OEM unlock" in developer options like I did)
Rooted using SuperSU 2.65 (didn't seem to work with the latest stable, 2.76, so I flashed it again with 2.65 and it worked then but Root Verifier tells me I have 2.76…)
I had to pay for dc unlocker, Huawei pages are crap. Then it was easy.
Cant finish the android start wizzard because of google
Hi at all,
i have a big problem at the moment. i rooted the honor 5 c of my girlfriend and it was all okay. The smartphone was rootet, SU installed and TWRP on it. After a factory reset because google playstore had problems to connect to server my problem began. After a reboot i am stuck in the installation assistant of android. I can choose my country, and my wlan, but when i want to go further google has to connect to servers and cant do it. So i can not enter the device. I can also read on my smartphone when it is in fastboot mode PHONE unlock and FRP lock. Could this be my problem? Or could it be the hosts file who blocks google to connect to servers?
Situation after first factory reset:
-unlocked bootloader
-rootet
-cant enter the phone because google cannot connect to server
Situation after secound factory reset:
-bootloader unlocked
-Phone unlocked
-FRP lock
Can you please help me? And sorry for my bad english. I hope you can understand everything and i dont forget something.
Did you try to add google account not immediately after factory reset when setting the phone, but skip it and add later?

I have no option to skip the google verification. Right after i allow or do not allow the enhanced internet experience Wi-Fi+ service and click one of the button, the next tab appears and says Couldn't sign in: There was a problem communicating with Google servers...... Try again later
Now i have the option to go next or go back. When i click next it restart at the language selection.
I searched the internet for this problem, but it seems i am the only one with such a issue.
I wanted to add some screenshots but i am not allowed to add links until i did 10 posts

I've tried Kingroot, Kingo Root and Frama root. All with no luck.

Did you use the desktop versions? Those have higher success rates. I tried rooting an HTC that way and it worked flawlessly even when the apk didn't.

You're going to have to do it manually.
no go on kingo
I'm in the same boat. I've got 20 of these BLU Advance 5.0 HD devices and I need to root them to gain access to the VirtualSensor app to emulate a gyroscope. I've tried Kingo and Mobogenie (barf-boo-hisssss). I'm wondering if kingo isn't working on these since they have Marshmallow. I read somewhere they originally shipped with Lollipop.
Did you get anywhere Devanttrio??

I was able to root mine successfully the long way.... had to obtain a dump of the boot.img / recovery.img using software that I'm not sure of the policy of discussion on here at XDA - compile TWRP - unlock bootloader - fastboot boot the compiled recovery - flash SuperSU to get patched boot.img (kitchen was being dumb and systemless root didn't want to work) - Flash SuperSU in system mode - Convert SuperSU.apk to system app so it doesn't get removed every reboot. I can post my compiled TWRP when I'm back at my office or grab it from my repository that I'm trying to establish - https://bluroms.info . Sorry for the design mess / lack of much there at moment haven't had much free time lately in process of cleaning up the device kernel sources to build from source... its sort of ... messy in there...... can post on github if anyone wants in

I've been trying to root a Blu Advance 5.0 HD for a while now and stumbled on this post. I visited your site but am not sure what a 'Scatter File' is, or in what order I need to do things in order to get root.
If you could provide a little more detailed info that would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry, to clarify I tried all of the other PC and APK rooting solutions but was able to unlock the bootloader using ADB. I guess I'm just looking for the proper way to root and add TWRP. Thanks!

I found a option in developer settings that is "Enable OEM unlocking" and it makes it so you can unlock the bootloader from fastboot, if you do adb reboot-bootloader and then fastboot unlock it should undo the bootloader for you

Like the others said, I would really appreciate if you could give an explanation or tutorial on how to use these files that you uploaded to root the phone. I'm willing to donate some money if required. I only know basic technical stuff haha.

I too am trying to root this device, and am unclear on a few of the steps here. I actually found your site with the recovery and boot images independently, really appreciated! I am at the point where I just need to patch the boot image, though I am not sure how to do this. If you could help me out with this step I might be able to put together some sort of list of steps to get through the whole process if you don't have the time.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Canadian P20 Pro version CLT-L04, Questions about Magisk and bootloader unlock

Hi! I picked up my Canadian P20 Pro last week and couldn't be happier. It's been many years since I've owned a rootable device though and a lot has changed! I've done my best to read through all the guides for rooting the P20 Pro and it's only lead to further confusion as there seem to be many recent advancements. There seem to be a lot of different versions of this phone too. So I have some questions I'm hoping someone can answer easily! Let's assume my bootloader is already unlocked....
1) there's a really great guide on rooting the P20 Pro using All In One tool. But that requires flashing TWRP to achieve root using Magisk. I do not require TWRP as I only want root and do not wish to flash any roms.
a) is there a way to root with Magisk and NOT flash TWRP? I can't seem to find a straight answer on this...
b) failing that, can TWRP safely be removed and keep root afterward?
2) after unlocking the bootloader I was welcomed by a terrifyingly orange warning about my now 'unsafe' phone. I've read mixed things on hiding this. Is there currently a way to hide it?
3) how does the process work for OTA updates on an unlocked bootloader assuming there is no TWRP? I've read differing opinions on the necessity of flashing a no_check.img to the ramdisk and have no understanding of the new security checks on these phones. Can I run risk of bricking my phone through an automated update?
Ultimately I'm scared of forgetting TWRP is on my phone and accepting an update that'll brick it. Any information is welcome as are similar questions!
I am also curious if there is a good root process for this phone. Find anything yet?

I have a Canadian CLT-L04 that i rebranded and rooted to CLT-L29 with the guide on here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...de-how-to-root-debrand-remove-retail-t3788326
if you want better firmware compared to version 109 thats still on clt-l04 you can follow this guide, it worked well for me. (don't wait canadian OTA it'll take too long)
1) quite sure that TWRP is the easiest and safest way to root. Currently unaware of a better way to root the phone.
b) if you remove TWRP by flashing a stock recovery_ramdisk, root is kept. If you do an OTA though you might lose root.
2) thats here to stay i believe. Cannot find a way to hide it currently.
3)In this guide under the "install an OTA Stock Update: PC Method" you will find all the information you need.
cheers
I finally found the info I needed in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...ide-getting-started-unlock-twrp-root-t3806180
Overall it was a very simple process and took less than an hour including reading. Once you've got your bootloader unlock code the all in one tool handles it from there. Unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, reboot into TWRP, flash Magisk and you're done. You can flash the no_check file over TWRP if you want to be ready for updates but I decided to leave TWRP on for now. Loving having root on this phone so far!
On a different note, has anyone discovered any ROMs for this phone yet that can handle the notch? I almost tried Lineage until I found out there is no notch support. I've grown strangely fond of the thing for some reason lol

If you do a full backup of the L04 in TWRP before rebranding you should be able to go back to it easily at any time, just remember to save it somewhere safe other than the phone itself. If you've already flashed and are looking to go back you may find someone willing to share a stock backup if you ask around. But always best to do your own backup first, then you can go back whenever you like!

Anyone unlocked bootloader and rooted recently for the L04 model with 120(C792) Sept-2018 update?
Im scared to update before unlocking and rooting as the update might do something to fastboot etc. (this has happened to LG)
If not, then Ill update but if so, Ill just not update and unlock it as it is.

It's really easy to update once you've unlocked, I would suggest unlocking first if you have concerns. I have an L04 as well and just updated to 120 with no problems.

Hey, Thanks djparent, I unlocked and updated as you suggested.
Everything working properly, just need to root/twrp etc. now.
Thnaks again
No problem, glad it worked for you. I've soft bricked and recovered my phone a few times now experimenting so if you run into any problems I'm happy to help! Lots to learn with the P20.
I have a CLT-L04 8.1.0.136 C69 with October security patch from Mexico I want to rebrand it to CLT- L29 to get wifi calling and get rid of all the bloatware. Could I use this tutorial from dladz's tutorial:

One of the notes mentions the following: I) ]NOTE*** If you are on a later firmware than 120, please do not attempt this guide!!
I have only rooted one phone before in my life so I am no expert. I do no want to mess up my phone becuse it is the only one that I have. Also If I unlock the boot loader and rebrand can i get OTAs and the upcoming Pie release? Thanks for the help!
LineageOS 15.1 on L04
I installed LineageOS 15.1 on my L04 with out any issue. Some things to consider. USB-C will only charge the device, Titanium Backup will install but doesn't get root access and you'll miss the camera application.

Did you install it with a locked bootloader ? I really dont feel like paying for an unlock code. Would like to try Lineage though.

I do have an unlocked bootloader. Truth is i'm addicted to Rom's lol. That in mind I have tried every Rom, kernel, flash-able zip within this Forum and I can't brick this thing. L04 Canadian. Lineage is the best Rom for our device.
Roms that work:
- Lineage - Hauwei camera can be installed and works, dark mode works well.
------- Doesn't work: USB-C audio, NFC, RAW Option in the camera, Second ear piece as speaker, main speaker works well.
- First Ever Android 9 - Being the first build it works well. (Note: When I installed this rom I never installed the RemoveEncryption-P20Pro.zip) Seemed to work just fine without it. I did run it just because I wanted to see if it would brick my phone. It didn't.
-------Doesn't work: Dark mode, NFC, RAW Option in camera, Second ear piece as speaker, main speaker works well, seems to kill TWRP. eRecovery needed to get TWRP to function.
- AOSP 9 - Berkeley-Flex - Do Not Use...not ready.
