is anyone else getting issues booting and is anyone able to get a logcat i am trying to work on this

I will try and get a update pushed out tonight not sure if it'll happen tho I have to work and do some work on my truck so we will see but I am working on the known issues let me know if you are having bootloops etc

Trying a new build will only release a new update if I have success if not I am still working on the build also I still need to know if anyone is having issues.
NOTE: THIS POST WILL HAVE ALL UPDATES UNTIL WORKING RR ROM IS COMPLETE PLEASE WATCH POST FOR UPDATES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
UPDATE: 02/11/18
currently starting new build should be patched to allow adb logcat on boot so if the patch works then i will logcat figure out whats going on with said bootloop and fix that sorry about the wait guys
UPDATE#2: I successfully pulled the logcat and now i am looking into the booting issue guys will hopefully have fixed on next ROM update :fingers-crossed:
UPDATE#3 02/13/18
Guys it looks as though I have no ETA on a working build the issue was a little bigger than I anticipated I am currently working on it though it looks to possibly be an issue with the kernel I am trying to compile a new kernel and flash that to see if I can get it to boot and stop bootlooping also I am not able to put out another marshmallow ROM update I am working on it also no ETA for Oreo either I know lineageOS and RR are pushing out O ROMs but we do not have O support yet stay tuned again sorry about the wait

Thanks for the good work @Shiftydogit I hope you can get that new build working, I've made a backup of the save games I have on the Shield so I would be able to check it out

Which recovery r u using for gapps??? as I am still getting problem flashing it in twrp. Touch won't work for me...

Alright man the Nivida kernel for this device can be very touchy i have found hints why we dont have alot of custom kernels (im really hoping i dont have to make one myself lol) but i am working as hard as i can here

Just to chime in and give you another perspective. I fired it up on my device. Installing throws an E: unknown command [log] twice. When booting, the boot animation just runs endlessly but I'm not boot looping. Keep up the awesome work. Exited to see what you come up with

Make backup of all camera apps you have (Instagram, WhatsApp, Retrica, Camera360, etc...) in front camera mode, because most of them crash if are in back camera mode.
I used Titanium Backup to make it!:highfive:
Thanks working good, perfect
Does anyone here know of a tool to determine why a phone doesn't go into deep sleep? The reason I'm asking this is that I installed this ROM and the phone doesn't go into deep sleep that much. I just want to eliminate any possible app as being the culprit for the problem.
Also when I try to use CPU-Z to look at the information about the phone, the phone reboots... every time. Can anyone help me identify WHY that happens?

To run deep sleep put these lines at the build.prop:
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.ril.power_collapse=1
Don't forget to adjust then the build.prop permission before restarting.
EDIT: Nevermind! Turns out that using EXT4 for your external SD card isn't a smart move! Crisis averted. ROM works like a charm!
Now get that rearcam working and I'll sing your praises from Amsterdam to Zürich, @jackeagle!

Ka81, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't ask for updates with a public message! If you absolutely NEED to know, then send a private message to Jackeagle!
I know we've been waiting for a while for a stable, fully functional ROM for our S5 Mini, but spamming the board asking for an update gets people like me hopeful that there is an update from jackeagle and we then have to live with the disappointment that it is NOT.

Fixing Camera is not easy task and blame Samsung for it for their incomplete sources .. You wanna know status of fixing ask @kaiodduarte everyday day and night I m giving test builds to him in order of trying fixing Camera .. Its not a easy task has Samsung never released Sensor sources in their any kernel source So please do not ask same question again and again i know all need camera but there is no other way then waiting .. you are on user side hence your happy but when you see developer side work it is lot lot lot tough .. just wait and be happy that atleast there is some development for this device now when comparing past were all were making threads asking for any developer to develop cm ..

That's great to hear man!
Update my hotspot is screwing me so to Finnish downloading the source code I have to wait a few days until I get a good internet more updates posted later
A little sneak peek of what's going on and it's looking like this ROM "SHOULD" be 7.xx based
Note: the Kernel terminal is a little project I'm doing for fun weather or not it makes it to the Sheild will depend on how it behaves and plays with RR so that's a MAYBE we shall see
UPDATE: the compiling process is giving me hiccups (I expected this) I am updating my Repos and looking over everything I will have more info as it comes along I haven't touched any kernel crap yet main focus is the ROM
Been having some errors between lineageOS repositories and RR I am working on it I spent a total of 6-7hrs on it I am looking into it all and getting it running also ran into hiccups playing with the kernel alright I'm off to bed for the night guys I'll keep you posted
Side note if you don't hear anything for a bit don't worry I am still hard at work on this I don't always have access to Internet so I work go to Starbucks and work on it there in my free time or days off I'll keep you all posted
Starting today with a fresh pull of RR repos I ended up being able to compile lineageOS and RR 6.xx as a test so I'm unsure if there is a issue between the build scripts or something between the Roth build files for nougat looking into it after a long night thinking and as long day dealing with running around with the fiancé
Huge update guys the compiling now works that's to a lil help from steel01 now I am dealing with jack errors not the first time tho so progress

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Yes, it is!
But it is still in a very early WIP stage and not usable for everyday use.
A couple of functions are still broken (most importantly file access to internal storage), but the OS with telefony on SIM1 and several other things are working already.
@Thargorsson is currently busy with important real-life stuff, but I hope he will be able to fix things after he is done (in about a month or so...). He has done an excellent job for the S3 Neo.
So let's keep our fingers crossed!
Hi, Just for precision, if you have TWRP 3.0.0 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-qualcomm-twrp-2-8-7-0-t3245256) don't wipe (cache/dalvik) after the installation but go wipe dalvik in the "wipe" menu. And you can mount /system (quote) and then "Remove /system/lib/hw/keystore.msm8226.so" in "Advanced" -> "File Manager" -> "/system" -> "lib" -> "hw" and then delete "keystore.msm8226.so".
(Sorry for my bad english ^-^).
finally uploaded all the repo to github, also updated the link in OP.
I hope ill get time soon to start fixing everything.
If any dev wants to join development for this rom take the sources from here:

Gapps keep screen black after boot
@Thargorsson
current image (lineage_kmini3g-ota-e7c42a48b5.zip) does not work in combination with Gapps pico (open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20180414.zip).
Screen stays black after boot, but when shutting down the setup screen is shown for a short time.
SuperSU works (SuperSU-v2.78-201609011115.zip.md5)
When you prefer Magisk (Magisk-v16.0.zip) it works
Thank you for your great work so far. :good:
Hi! It is visible, that you work hard
nice rom, my congradulations
but unfortunately it has some bugs..
gapps can not be installed because of bootloop; sd card haven't detected, so some apps (camera, gallery, file manager, apk installation manager) are falt down, contacts are not available to move them from sim card to the telephone
so, good luck, I believe in you

You could ask me, but I must say that I'm totally busy till June 22 as I have my final school exams till then.
But if any other developer is willing to compile stuff for you I uploaded the source code for the current build so he could use that and improve stuff.
Good !
Stability of Rom is very good, but there are still many bugs. as in call, camera, physical buttons, SIM card 2
Congratulations for the initiative!
I decided to make a new build next week...
Camera shouldn't be a problem and physical keys also not (was it that big related to the firmware?).
The ril is the thing what makes me a bit of trouble, as I'm not a good RIL dev. Even on my (almost stable) oreo rom for the S3neo RIL is the only thing left.... but I'm sure we'll find a solution:good:
Hey Thargorsson. Good to see you back in action. I hope your final exams went well. Looking forward to the new build. I'd be happy to help if any testing is needed.

Bugs
If you encounter issues/bugs that are not known, please report. This is not the OFFICIAL ROM, but I can help to get any issues fixed. I use the us997 variant. If I can replicate your issue then I can track it down. If I cannot, please provide as much detail as possible. Logcats are great.
Please indicate what g6 variant you have (h870, h872, us997) and the dated version. Any mods (no judgment) as well.
I am aware people run mods or change things. I am not against it (as I do myself). However, if needed I may ask you to data wipe (you can say no), or remove a mod that might be interfering. I will do the best I can.

It has picks for all the g5/g6/v20 devices, so if you pick that you might get errors on devices you do not have setup. I maintain all of them, so these are that set.
H872, full wipe,
Rom install gives error 7
Max t version not match current making assert failure.
Edit, I think you have a lot of work to do on this rom.

That's because you're on the wrong bootloader. I had the same error until I flashed nougat bootloader.

On the us997 version it keeps powering off on it's own when trying to go through Google setup It says powering off and boots into twrp. I did clean flash both times with same problem.
Good to see you're back @x86cpu
OP states Bluetooth works.
Is BT calling working on this ROM? Would be the first custom ROM, so it'd be very welcome

GAPPS
First time installing crDroid to your Sony Xperia XA2, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device(sd-card)
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
5) Reboot into Recovery again
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Great Work!
Nice Work, every thing works great
Security patch : 5 December
hi, I want to give this a try.
I come from a clean downgraded XA2 (h3113) from 9 to 8.1, so the bootloader is already unlocked and the phone is rooted with TWRP and Magisk installed. I did the downgrade with Emma tools.
My firmware version is 50.1.A.
Do I have to re-install the Pie 9 update first in order to flash this rom ?
Or can I just flash it and then reboot to recovery, flash the gapps and reboot to recovery and flash the latest firmware from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78973496&postcount=2

Need Sony firmware ("at least bluetooth, dsp, modem from it") from Pie. As Luk said.
It would be better to update (install) the stock rom (Pie) first.
I have not tested this with Android 8.1-stock. I can not promise the right work and compatibility.

That's pretty normal I think. When I'm first using Android 10's based ROM, it showed up on my phone. After using a few weeks, it was gone. When I tap "App Info", it led me into a google playstore (if you have one) and it literally doesn't show anything.
Hi!
I really like you roms, they add to the XA2. But a question - is there a possibility that you could compile versions without recovery, or with TWRP, instead of the stock one? TWRP is just that much more functional, and now after the flash, i need to reflash the TWRP, and only then carry on with gapps, and the rest..
Just asking, no big deal I'm still VERY grateful for your work!
Rom installed, everything works but the wifi keep switching to my data even if there's connection and signal (with stock firmware there was no problem on this side), other than this: is there any plan to release some updates? On the crdroid site the rom is "unmaintained"
Updated sources and rebuild

what gapps u installed?
how do u did it?
take a log from boot system for debug.
1)stable gapps here(micro or nano): https://sourceforge.net/projects/opengapps/files/arm64/
2)instal em before system booting! (it's important):
a)boot in twrp
b)install rom
c)reboot twrp again
d)install gapps
e)boot system, done.
