4g LTE works on Global Rom 9.2.1 - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Just downloaded the new Global Rom 9.2.1 and noticed that 4g LTE is working. Did a few tests and found that it really is working. I have ATT as my provider.

I just flashed 9.2.1, and 4G/LTE didn't work for me. Did you do a full wipe, and were you previously running LOS, AOSP, AICP, or MIUI. Is anyone else getting 4G/LTE in the US.

It is Global Stable build. I'm using it on my RN3 Pro from past 2 days. Received it as OTA.
xiaomi REDMI Note 3 PRO (SIM1 / SIM2) 4G issue
Question is to those who get xiaomi redmi note 3 came with custom rom from dealer and clean flash this ROM version.
Some of you might have bought Redmi Note 3 PRO that came pre-installed with custom rom (MIUI7 7.1.9.0.0 or some say get this version 7.1.9.99.99) - "This ROM cannot update by OTA" and after flashed it with official global rom MIUI7 then they found out that the phone have problem with sim1 & sim2 not be able to register to 4G network, even clean flash until the latest MIUI7 (7.3.7.0) still no fix for this issue (they can scan 4g network but can't change to 4g / it will still register to 3g / 2g)...
If anyone here previously have this kind of issue as above and have flash this MIUI7 (7.5.3.0), did you still encounter same 4G behaviour / problem or did the 4G network registration issue on SIM1 or SIM2 not occur on this MIUI7 (7.5.3.0)?.
Boot.img
can you upload boot.img from this rom? I would be very thankful
Yup i got 4G issue, the 4G network is missing.

Does any of the custom roms developed for nexus 6 so far support VOLTE in india? [Jio/Airtel/vvodafone/Idea etc.]

As it is not part of AOSP then most likely not. LTE is purely a data only connection for most of the world so you will be hard pressed to find one that does support it.
There have been other threads on the topic. This isn't something a custom ROM can solve. The problem with the N6 is that neither the US nor the international versions have band 40, which I believe is needed for VoLTE in India due to bandwidth. Otherwise, Jio would have labeled the N6 as VoLTE compatible.
If you want VoLTE and live in India, the N6 is very likely not the device for you.
The pure Nexus project 7.1.2 and S.i.x oreo rom have VOLTE and otg support and also are pretty stable.
VOLTE in Jio network for Nexus 6 ?

I have tried the custom ROMs Pixel-experience, Nitrogen, crDroid. None of the custom ROM would enable VOLTE for JIO network. Just an FYI for ppl looking for this.

Yes, the devs have given up getting the IMS to work on Pie. IMS is needed for VoLTE and WiFi-calling. So those two things will probably never work on any Pie-rom.
Try aquari os

Does MI8 China version support AT&T or T-mobile sim card in the US?

Is there any one in the US can tell me whether Mi 8 supports AT&T and T&mobile sim cards in the US and is the signal good or not? Also, if anyone knows, the signal is better in Miui China version or in custom roms with those sim cards?

Yes, i'm using an Mi8 China version (newer 8gb ram) on the T-Mobile network. Great signal (Midwest), running Weekly MIUI official beta Global ROM. In order to have VoLTE i had to root and add Magisk module.

Looking for Working VoLTE Mod for Unlocked Note 9

Shortcut Master was a Great tool in order to turn on VoLTE/Calling Plus Beta on Sprint.
After Upgrading from the Note 8 to the Note 9 I Loved being able to be on a Phonecall and being able to use the Internet.
All was fine until Android Pie Update.
The same day I downloaded the OTA Android 9/Pie Update and Installed it on My Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 9, VoLTE Stopped and was disabled.
I have been looking for a Guaranteed Working MOD to Pie in order to get VoLTE to work.
Is there Anyone that Can Help with Detailed Instructions with Screenshots in order to Help in the Process of getting VoLTE Working on the Note 9 running Android Pie?
The only way is to flash back to Oreo. It's what I did with my unlocked Note 9, and Shortcut Master allowed me to retain data whole on a call. This is essential since I'm never near WiFi at work these days.

I Downgraded and Blocked Automatically Download Updates.
i have a unlocked sprint Note 9 & after pie update there is no VoLTE now. (I am trying to use it on JIO network in India).
Is there a way to Install Other Global ROM instead of Sprint ROM so that VoLTE can naturally be activated & not hidden or disabled ?

No settings to tinker. I was using jio volte app first. After 2 days, native volte was active after an update. (April security version).

Hd calling and data will stay enabled for that call. have to do each each time you call. Must have an active internet connection when enabling wifi.

Can I flash customs roms without breaking my 4G band (band 28 700MHz)

I'm using a mi 9t pro global version and I wanted to install a custom rom, maybe xiaomi.eu but I don't want to break my 4G band. Does this rom change or disable some mobile bands? and if I flash stock modem or firmware on a custom rom would my 4G work?
Thanks everyone

LTE bands is 100% software. The hardware is the X24 modem that is part of the SD855 SoC and is the same for all versions of the phone.
The software is very secure and, so far, no-one has found a way to change or hack it, and it persists even when flashing MIUI from a different region. But it is still controlled by software alone.

Yes, they are safe from normal cross flashing of regional ROMs and/or vendor and firmware images. AFAIK they can only be modified by official Qualcomm software, which is not available to the general public.
