[SoundMod] [MIUI] Sharing Quasar Atmox and guides for Install [Fully Working] - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Guides, News, & Discussion

Features included:
Viper's Audio || Dolby Atmos®
Xperia™ Audio Enhancement || xLOUD™ || ClearAudio+
Dirac HD || Beats Audio™
[Fully working, even the Sound Enhancement app]
Hi. I'm sharing a great sound mod made by @nitesh9 (thanks to him) in this thread. It was the first mod which made me a lot happier both of its sound quality and simplicity(but complex to install in our roms). I'm giving instructions for safe install for it, because there are some side effects and bugs on Nougat. Follow the instructions to install it perfectly.

Instructions:
For MIUI:
Install QA 4.0 in TWRP. Reboot and you will get "no Processing" in Viper and also Dolby.- Just edit in build.prop in Viper tweaks section or add an extra line at the bottom.

Now reboot and it should work fine.
*In MIUI MM(6.0), nothing is needed to edit, just flash and enjoy.
Edit: *You have to set Se-Linux Permissive or you will be gifted with high CPU usages.
*only tested on Stock MIUI 8(QA 3.0, without Sound Enhancement app), 9 and 10.
Beware, it won't work in MIUI Oreo.
For Custom ROMs(MM, N):
It's not fully working, mostly the Sound Enhancement of Sony, but another thing may work.
Install sound mod, and reflash your rom. (don't flash sound mod again. It's for the high CPU usages fix.)
How to test Sony Sound Enhancement app:
Play a song in Sony Music, open Audio Settings, click Clear Audio+ or any other useful things. The sound will then pause and play again. This means its working. And you will feel the difference.
Good news is that Sound Enhancement works in Google Play Music. Have fun with Google Assistant.
Cautions:
Never ever use any other sound mod with this one. You may use ad ones from the original thread. I've tested some. Faced some impatient bugs. Whether you face or not, its your responsibility.
The good thing is that it has much natural sound effects without tweaking much, and containing some convolvers(Audiophile Profile needed) in Viper4android which will give you greater sound quality like PC (I don't like to use it though, made sound unnatural). Use Audiophile Profile from his thread, one of the best settings in Viper4android.
*For Oreo, Dolby is not working. Other things may or may not work.
Notice(just ignore it): Sometimes audio through DSP does not work. Playing/pausing music and looking at CPU usage through app like Android Assistant will help you find. I've it enabled. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't, pausing and after a few seconds playing again few times solved the issue sometimes.
*audio through dsp can give us up to 2x battery life while playing music(and it will lower little quality too)
audio.offload.disable=false

1> Plug in your EARPHONES.
2> Set your HTC Audio Booster settings to match the image.
3> Now if You use COREPLAYER then open COREPLAYER, in its Menu > Tools > Equalizer select TECHNO.
4> Now play any song having High BASS and see.... ah HEAR the Difference.
Njoy....
No Feedback......??????????
Tried it without COREPLAYER, I'll give it a go with coreplayer when i get a chance.
Didn't notice much difference without core player though.
It seems you are only interested in listening to part of the song, the treble is cranked too low. EQ adjustments make up for bad hardware or room acoustics.
I prefer listening to the complete track.
how i can download this ?
Audio Booster makes my audio have 'lags' every 5 min or so. :/
halo! somebody can give me link to this equalizer cab file ? please.
we all have different headphones, so a "best setting ever" is quite useless. That said, way to much bass with those settings we need treble too. I use SRS wow anyway, but replied nonetheless.
heloooooo i need .cab file.. somebody?

Try the Xperia forum, even if you get a cab for Diamond, it will not necessarily work on Xperia.
in this rom for XPERIA:

this app it's WORK... so? why this will be doesn't work?
Ask the cooker to make a cab for you then, or extract it yourself. I don't know where to look for you.
I installed cab to make full boost, but i got distortion...how do i get best performance...i use coreplayer and wow srs hd actually.

[APP] Sequencer -[R]- 13/May/2012 -[U]- 07/Sept/2012 -[V]- 1.2.1

Hey there! Just wanted to mention a new app I made, Sequencer. The application is a drum machine/step sequencer and loops timed sound samples. There are already a few apps out there that are similar, but this project interested me so I went ahead and built it. I got some base features in there, so think it is time to show some people and get some ideas.
Please give it a try and tell me what you think. Also note, I’m not a musician don’t know all the components of making a song. So if you have any ideas for changes to the app or any features you want added, please tell me!
Here are some screenshots:

Version 1.2.1 Update and screenshots
The next version of sequencer is now available. This update adds a lot of new options, the biggest being “synthesizer mode”. Now, in addition to the sample sound packs, you can select a three oscillator synthesizer as a sound source.
When a channel is in synth mode you can generate a sound using:
- 3 Oscillators with 12 different waveforms (Includes the usual, Sine, Saw, Square, and Triangle waves)
- Frequency and detune settings
- Unison mode that will generate 3 detuned oscillators instead of one
- A Single LFO that can modulate pitch or volume
- An ADSR amplitude envelope, and a gate time setting to control how long the sound plays
- Lowpass filter
- Distortion effect
Each channel has its own synthesizer settings, so you can make a composition using entirely synthesized sounds. Generating the sounds does require a good amount of processing from your phone, but even older phones should run this pretty well. Also, if configuring a synthesizer isn’t your thing, you can select one of the 35 presets included in this release. More presets will be added in following versions.
A few other things added:
- Channel level volume settings with mute and solo
- Slider increment feature that lets you tap on the right or left side of a slider to change a value.
- Fixed loading issue that occurred when there were a lot of saved sequences
Here are some screenshots of the updated features:

About ViPER's Audio
ViPER's Audio is an audio enhancing software to provide everyone with better audio experiences in various platforms such as smartphones and PCs.
ViPER's Audio is founded by Euphy Wong (ViPER520). ViPER's Audio has been a popular audio mod in China. Recently, co-founder Zhu Hang extended the popularity globally through xda-developers forum. It has gained fame and made its stand in the audio mod field.
ViPER's Audio made great improvements in Bass with its dynamic bass system and ViPER Bass. ViPER's Audio also outshines in terms of Clarity with its unique ViPER Clarity and XHiFi technology. Surround sound had never been enough until the presence of field surround, differential surround or haas effect and Virtual Headphone Surround+.
Talking about audio effect, nothing is more significant than convolution. Being the first audio mod to have Convolver makes ViPER's Audio a must for effect lovers. Convolver lets you load technically any impulse response sample you have.
ViPER's Audio is concern with user's auditory health too. Auditory Protection System with the one and only Cure Tech+ reduces your ears' stress and keep you ready for longer duration of pounding musics.

This app has been tested by me to be working correctly on CM10 at 800MHz and Apollo music player.
Remember to always do a backup before trying anything new as no one but you would be responsible if you break your device.
good thread. All rules followed

Anyone have any luck with Viper4android?

I have it installed successfully, drivers and everything, but turning it on and off doesnt have any effect on audio.

which audio portion-do not think it will do anything for earpiece in-call volume if that is what you are looking for (correct me if i am wrong but viperaudio will boost bluetooth/headset, external speaker for say videos, and maybe speakerphone only)
I have ARISE sound system mod with viper installed, all works fine and no reboot issue, it turns on perfectly and I highly recommend this MOD.

Took 5s of my time to just do a search for you, here:

I think the phone sounds better without any of these Mods, i've experimented with Viper, ARISE (With and without the Audiophile X Profile) and Dolby Atmos - they all feel overprocessed and un-natural.
Out of the box it's the best sounding phone i've ever heard. I have a Fiio X7 with AM5 AMP module (Audiophile DAP) and this sounds just as good, i'm finding myself just carrying the one device around... for the first time ever!
My settings :-
Sound and Vibration >> Audio Settings
* Mi Sound Enhancer On, Select Mi Piston 1 headphones (I don't have these but the profile sounds most natural on all of my headphones). I ignore the Equaliser in here.
* I then access the Equaliser from the app i'm using, such as directly in Spotify and set the sound profile from there.

I am using ARISE but with totally clean Viper (earphone), No profiles such as Audiophile X and I don't use Atoms, those profiles also sounded over-processed to me.
I use my Mix with my JH Roxanne, I do agree the sound chip in Mix is very good by default, i, however, think ARISE bring this sound to the next level. I don't use Spotify as the sound quality there isn't good enough, if you want to benefit from ARISE, you should be using TIDAL at least or your own HI-FI files.
For bluetooth and external speaker, i 100% think ARISE (Viper) is a must, I adjust the viper setting for my in-car stereo and the difference is huge. It does take some time setting it up if you not familiar with all the VIPER setting, but it's worth it at the end.
*btw for people who has trouble getting either ARISE or just pure Viper to work (turn on), you can use kernel editor to set permissive. I didn't have to do it though on my Mix, but I had to with some of my other device on some custom Rom.
just download the SELinuxModeChanger apk just google it and find it. you can change it with the apk file each time at boot for those that don't want to make edits
Is there a mod to boost the loud speakera volume? Just wondering...
Well, viper does it. It's called loud speaker under the speaker section. You can also have gain control there to boost speaker volume

Although historically the Dolby and other sound enhancements didn't work well on other phones or required complex procedures beyond the lay person, for this new phone it is a different matter.
XDA has a tradition of porting Sony's strength in phone sound quality to enhance other phones. In particular sirdoha's work comes to mind. Unfortunately in 2020 it is now up to new users to enjoy some harmless porting. Given that porting will not be successful due to DRM, I believe that extracting DSEE Ultimate and Sony'tuned Atmos would at least be a good start.
I require assistance because Android is very difficult.
From xperifirm software a set of folders can be unpacked into .sin files.
Then use https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-unsin-sin-v3-unpacker-t3128106/amp/ to unpack sin into img or ext files. The problem is that although there are some individual files and an apk for sound enhancements within the 'super' sin file, the actual content of the features is nowhere to be found.
Why does any of this matter?
https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...ee-hx-ai-dsee-ultimate-dsee-extreme-do.14832/
tells why.
dsee-ultimate is a game-changer, and with it as the tool for playback, streaming services can equal hires downloads. It is in the interest of streaming services to have enthusiasts use dsee-ultimate even on non-Sony devices, until Sony ports dsee-ultimate over to Music Center/Songpal app in the Play Store. It also helps wireless headphones equal the quality of wired headphones. There is no doubt at all that our work here is urgent and imperative until Sony ports dsee-ultimate over to Music Center around October this year.
Please help me.
