Having problems updating to latest MIUI 9 weekly - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Questions & Answers

I'm currently using the weekly-updated MIUI 9 developer rom from en.miui, though I haven't updated it for months, and I'm still on 7.10.6 as shown in the settings page.
I've tried to update to the latest weekly which is miui_MIMAX2Global_8.2.8_45df73749c_7.1.zip, though I keep failing.
The following are things I tried:
1. Directly flashing the zip through TWRP
2. Wiping first then flashing the zip
Though both ways get my phone stuck at boot where it shows the "M" of MIUI and "Unlocked" at the bottom.
Can anyone kindly point out my mistakes? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question or if I'm doing something dumb

have u tried updating the zip via the integrated system updater in rom settings?

Yes, though it also doesn't seem to be working. Here's a screenshot of what is shown after clicking "choose update package".

hm...did you clean up system apps and accidentally deleted the app used to pick an update package?
another option would be to flash via fastboot, but ull need the fastboot specific rom package for that. also available on miui rom website.

Problems install Hashcodes new 10.2 4.3.1 update to KF HD

Ok I attempted to flash the new Rom to his latest update. Would not boot up, pretty much stayed at the Cmod screen. Good news for me i had a older 4.2.2 rom on the unit still and was able to revert back to that.
I noticed that he said I should update TWRP. How in the world do I do that?
I have installed the file, but I can not figure out how to actually update to the latest TWRP. Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Flash the twrp file like if it was a rom and then reboot, thats it

Download the most recent TWRP from Hascodes thread as he modifies them so they work on our Kindle Fire HD's. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128848 Then use your FireFlash app and flash TWRP in the recover.img just like the first time only don't tick or check any other boxes. It's easy as 1,2,3.

[CLT-AL00] 8.1.0.176(C00) TWRP, ROOT, OTA UPDATES failed

Hi all, I decided to create this thread because of a little annoying problem.
1) I followed instructions in the ""[GUIDE] Getting started - Unlock->TWRP->root->OTA updates]"" to install TWRP and ROOT my P20 pro.
Everything was OK until this point.
2) My phone found an update in the OTA checking. It can't be installed because of TWRP so I decided to overwrite the TWRP in the recovery_ramdisk with a recovery_nocheck.img
So then, the update was correctly downloaded, the phone reboots normally, I got a screen with an EMUI installing update successfully but the phone found again and again the same update. I got no error about some updates not installed.
Of course if i don't change TWRP, i got an error message in system that an update was not installed.
Something strange, even if i remove TWRP and replace with emui recovery_nocheck, i am still rooted.
I found the update.zip in root folder \data\update. It can be installed manually with no error in TWRP directly or with HRUpdate but all of these don't change the fact that my phone always found the same update in OTA checking. I even desactivate in root (i found this somewhere that you have to rename the file hwouc.apk) the OTA checking but it doesn't work
Any help please. I don't like the red mark notification in settings.
Thanks

Where did you get your phone from? Did you unlock bootloader? What happens when you try to perform a factory reset?

Best I can suggest is using the Android Flash Tool to completely restore your device. Check the "Wipe device" and "Force flash all partitions" boxes. This will only work if your bootloader is unlocked.
I didn't know this existed, Neat!! Makes me wanna pick up a google phone now XD

Question After installing EU Rom, some apps do not install

Hi Team, strange one.
I have successfully rooted my CH phone to EU, disabled bootlock, factory reset the phone, but now I am unable to install the following apps:

Currently using System Launcher for phone and messages (which is using Googles Phone & messages app), but would prefer the OP Launcher.
No idea why Notepad Plus wont install.
I tried installing via adb command prompt - it says success but still nothing on the phone...
Any ideas?
what is your os version?
Try a fresh install from Playstore. Using the old files from an old or other system will lead you sometimes in trouble like described.

I'm on "clean" EU ROM and those apps are failing to install for me as well, straight from the Play Store, actually.
I don't think that's related to you flashing the EU ROM on rour device.

Question [CLOSED] POCO F3 no update to MIUI13 EU.

Hello,
It's some time after Miui 13 release but I have still no update. Phone is locked, no root so I thought I'll get a Miui 13 OTA update but I did not get any. I checked regions like, Poland (my), Germany, India etc. but still nothing. Any help?

EDIT:
I want to update from phone, so should I download version V13.0.8.0.SKHEUXM or V13.0.6.0.SKHMIXM to place it on my device and run the manual update?
Or better still wait?

You have an EEA(EU) version you cannot install a global(MI) without unlocking the bootloader.
Start with V13.0.3.0.SKHEUXM.
Btw:You have a poco F3(alioth) not GT, post here:
