Sad to hear that.

Tip: buy adapter with D/A chip.
I tried the unit with many different USB audio adapters for laptop through USB C to A adapter cable and all worked.

This one works with all buttons (play/pause/call and volume)

Is there a usb type a male to usb type c female adapter?

Is there a usb type a male to usb type c female adapter? Please read that statement carefully basically I want a adapter to convert a computer usb type a 3.1 female port to a type c port that I could plug a standard type c cable of the nexus 5x into.
I am not interested in cable because usb type c cable is the future, if I buy usb cable might as well buy the true type c cable
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
Havent seen any - most people would prefer to just have the right cable (male usb-c to male usb-a) and not add an adapter even if using the cable that comes with the 5x.

He wants to use the type C cable that comes with the phone.... and then an adpater to change it onto a male USB A. Not sure why he is limiting himself to that. I assume adapting to USB A male still makes the USB C cable default to the same slower charge speeds as a regular micro USB cable.

I want to transition to type C cable. So an adapter that turns a good old computer type a port into a type c port would be ideal.

I would post a link to the product you're looking for but this board won't let me. But the product you need is on Amazon and its ASIN is "B015W9ZZRQ". Go to Amazon and add "/gp/product/B015W9ZZRQ" to the end of the URL
(I've not tried it yet, but I have one on order)

Just a heads up on this; looks to be as the A port is device and C port is host. Backwards from what I'm guessing the OP wants. I've ran into this with a few cables and adapters and ended up only being able to charge my 5X/6P.
Note that any adapter that meets the OP's criteria will necessarily violate the USB specifications, as they explicitly require that any Type-C adapters be male, not female:
USB Type-C Cable and Connector Specification v1.1 said:
USB Type-C receptacle to USB legacy adapters are explicitly not defined or allowed. Such adapters would allow many invalid and potentially unsafe cable connections to be constructed by users.

If you can find the adapter you are looking for or any other adapter on Amazon from a seller called HQS Corp (the seller of the adapter listed by @EeZeEpEe) DON'T buy it. That seller SUCKS.

USB Type-C HDMI Adapter

I've found plenty of USB Type-C to HDMI adapters online, though wanted to check if anyone has given any of these a try?
Would anyone know if all HDMI / USB-C adapters should be compatible with the Huawei P9?
I use one of these...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Fe...&qid=1463913348&sr=1-2&keywords=Aukey+adapter
There are cheaper ones around, but I think you should get one with a 56k ohm resistor... Something about laptops/phones being fried without one!
that's not for hdmi though?

OTG on the VIE-AL10

Hello,
i don't get usb sticks to work on my VIE-AL10. I also have seen members with working OTG, but only on VIE-L09. Can somebody confirm a working OTG on VIE-AL10 devices? And if yes, what Adapters are you using? Did it work instantly without customizing anything?
Thanks
Nobody tried this yet?
can't get otg for use a dac. tried 3 usbc-micro adaptaters and no one works. i don't want to buy a new usbc dac :/
I could not get any Type C - Micro USB connectors to work using my old TOG cable. I had to buy a new Type C OTG adaptor cable. It was the only way I found to get it working.
Can you show us what cable did you buy? Thank you

Does Asus ROG phone 2 support digital audio via any on its USB Type C ports?

I was just wondering if the phone supports audio out via USB Type C. As the side USB supports variety of devices to be connected. Can a headset be connected to it?
Or can it be enabled somehow?

Wrong, just tried a pair of USB Type C headset with bottom port and my Rog phone 2 recognized the headset directly and gave me headset icon in status bar.
Even side port works as well.
So either your adapter is broken or you got defect Rog phone 2.

I have a fast charge usb c to 3.5mm from amazon that I used to use for my pixel 3 xl.
I just tried it on the asus and it seems to be working fine on the bottom charging port!
I tried with a passive adapter (so no integrated DAC) and it doesn't work.

its out of stock but thank you. pixel one cost 20$ here in india, does the oneplus dongle works with rog 2 ? its 5$ only.
They should all work.
Even the ones without the DAC inside should work as well, as they would use the phones internal DAC I'm guessing. I have a few adapters without DAC's in them, I will test it out tomorrow
There are two types of usb c headphone jacks. My Huawei uses the type that connects to analog pins embedded into the USB c slot. Basically it has the connection for a 3.5 jack but no jack. That connection is routed via the USB c port. This type will not work on all phones. The other type is a true usb c device and that will work on every usb c phones. It gets detected using usb protocol.
So be careful when you buy usb c to 3.5 mm jacks.

I tested Passive USB-C adapter, the one that comes with essential phone, just pluged it in, got headphone icon
i plug my rog phone 2 in mobile desktop dock. my headset using 2.4ghz usb digital surround is supported.
Type c Port not working
I tried one plus Type C to 3.5 mm connector they didn't work

You didn't tell that rog phone 2 works with type c to 3.5 mm jack adaptor ( without doc) you tried or not
It works. Used DD TC-35 hi-fi dac bought from AliExpress. It doesn't show notification that dac is connected. Only thing you can see is a headphone icon in status bar
i used usb type-c to 3.5mm adapter that provided by asus kunai gamepad and it works fine, the phone detect it and automatically showed headset icon.

AAwireless cable replacement

Good morning. Thank you for this site.
Wanting to replace original aawireless cable.
Is the cable USB 3.0 Type C into a USB Type A 2.0?
Thanks in advance. Mike.
I've had a tough time trying to replace my original cable, which works the best for me, it's just longer than I need in my car.
The cable type for you depends on your car, as it's USB C on the AAW end, and USB A for MOST cars on the other end. Some cars might be USB C on the other end as they are more recent.
The big issue is if it's a high quality data cable, not just a charging cable.
I'm on the lookout for a 30cm or 1 foot cable, USB C - USB A.

There is no such thing. It's either 3.1 or 2.0, the ends can't be different. Either should work.
Just buy a quality cable. Anker and Monoprice are well respected.
