Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the deivce, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine
KERNEL:
The Kernel fellow latest Voodoo Kernel build ( Latest Kernel.org / Code Aura patches)
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

Isch doch selbstverständlisch dat i dir d Tag rett wer d sonschd. (Natürlich ich wer den sonst )
Demnächst kommt noch ne Rom sei gespannt.

Nice to see that our R4P is not dead... THUMBS UP!
[Bevor ich diese Version ausprobiere, darf man fragen, welche ROM als nächste kommen soll und ob die noch dieselben Anfangsproblemchen haben wird? Vielleicht warte ich dann noch etwas mit dem Ausprobieren...]
Before I give this a try, might I ask which ROM comes next (and if it still has the same restrictions like acip)? Maybe then I will wait...

Working without the source it's not an easy task. Maybe next year we have Project Treble in use(on new devices ofc) and your guys work get's easier.
Speaking on Project Treble, is there anything you guys can use from this?

I know about it but for me it isnt possible for Markw.. Maybe someome else do this, i would be really gratefull. But i dont have the time for it... But maybe i change my mind and try in future. Who knows.

Having multi touch issue, plz fix it in the next update if its possible and thanks for still sticking with R4p
And sorry if I'm asking for something which isn't that important for most people (maybe)

I'm not trying to be rude or be such ungratefull for your hardwork releasing various custom ROM, do you have a plan to release a CAF based ROM? Anyway, thanks for your consistent work to longetivity of this device.
Hi, dev, sorry to disturb,I don't know if there is some problem with quick pulldown. In my case(clean install with gapps and Magisk), quick pulldown is broken with smart pulldown turn off.
Except this, this is a good ROM, thanks :good:
I was using PixelExperience and everything was fine. After installing this ROM, I can't use TWRP anymore. It won't show me any of my files, it's like the phone is totally empty, but the system boots up fine, with everything working.
After installing the ROM I also wasn't able to install Magisk.
Any clue about what I should do?
-----------------
Edit: Ok, I already found in Los15.1 thread what I have to do: Install TWRP 3.2.1-1 through fastboot.
-----------------
Edit 2: It worked! So...
IMPORTANT:
Before installing this ROM, make sure you have installed the latest TWRP 3.2.1-1
Wow..Thank a lot man..This is Very stable Rom may be Overal very very stable Thank u Very much dev..

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
The root solution can be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update).
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time.
Unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

AICP
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm for SDK 25.
A. Settings -> Navigation -> Enable navigation bar. The bar can be configured separately in its settings.
Thanks.

A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!

root solution do not state something else (="persistence on dirty flashing") !
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM Mi's kernel and additions from Deadman.

Hey guys. This rom has been without updates for a while, I know. Personal things happened to me which resulted in most of my work going, but I plan to keep AICP going.
For the meantime, I compiled a beta build of 14.0 (9.0.0) and will keep download links here.
AICP 13.1 (8.1.0 Oreo)
https://mega.nz/#!rbQVkCJA!EdSw0qCgH2KuRgif7r9YNlSb32YwxZKwZDbbkwnsCEg
AICP 14.0 (9.0.0 Pie)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nSP_WQ0bjqd0QiVHpkrg0r2qCpGZVQ5d/view?usp=sharing
Bugs are as same as LOS for both.
Based on latest lineage build 33?
Will try this anyway. Thank you for this rom!
Going to install and give it a go Thank you! Keep you posted if i find anything you might need to know about dude :good:
Miss aicp rom, tnx dev

I have tried AICP 14 for S7. It isn't very different from LOS16 right now, but once it's (near) completed I will be posting it. ?
I am running version 13.1 (dated 9. Oct, 2018) for almost 2 weeks now on Gallaxy S7 EDGE, Exynos. Only had 1 unexpected reboot, otherwise works perfect...
...except some bugs:
- Camera is not working
- Seems like Android Keyboard is too sensitive or something, so I make a lot of mistakes when typing on this ROM. But this seems to be 8.1 guilty
- Voice quality is sometimes terrible for other side. At the moment I don't have enough feedback to determine exact combination of circumstances to point finger to
- Sometimes seems like screen is too sensitive to fingers just near screen, or maybe sense part of my hand, which is touching phone edge, so right-hand icons just trigger by themselves sometimes (say, during call text messaging app opens)

Most of that stuff happens to me and others, but I am sure the camera works. What happens when you try to open it?

Thank you for hint about camera - it actually does not work only WITH FLASH ON. Without flash it works.
Also VIDEO works.
Only when flash is ON, it seems like it's taking a shot, flash lights up...but then nothing happens. Actually all camera buttons freeze in this case - only navigation buttons work (back, home, recents).
Did dalvik clear, but no help, Rebooted few times, no help.
totally underrated this rom! I have it now for over 3 Weeks in daily use
Hey guys, updated post #1. Download links will be there, sorry for being inactive, left something there ^^
Hows dis rom?
I think that this rom is the most stable one in my opinion. No lags, no reboots, very responsive, no black screen issue at all... I'm using it with stock configuration.
Thanks for bringing this rom to us

kernel
Hi man.
Thank you for continuing this project! I very much appreciate it.
Do you happen to know what kernel with wakelock capability supports your ROM (or a Kernel with more governors/customization options)? I have tried several but they all result in bootloops.
Thank you!

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.
*

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 28.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Thanks.)
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie.

Thanks
Perfect ROM! Awesome!
Build is based on 6th of March. A bit misleading with 23rd of March. Nevertheless, works fine.

Maybe again the known Magisk or Camera AnXUnity issue? If one of both is installed you may need to uninstall before OTA.

I'm using it since 08:00 AM today and I didn't faced the brightness issue yet.
Regarding NFC I already wrote a bug report on their official Discord channel. It is exactly the same issue like LOS 13.03 build. The NFC Symbol at the settings icon is missing and in setting only Bluetooth is available.

It works fine except in low light conditions. Then the brightness keeps changing all the the time without a reason. So I turn it off in the evening and back on in the morning.

The same as me. And I have this problem on all the ROMs, including MIUI. That's really annoying ?
New build UP! NFC is fixed
Good job, thanks!
