Project Treble Confirmed on S9 and S9+
With the Project Treble Architecture enabled on Galaxy S9 and S9+ we can expect :
1. Faster Updates
2. Easier Customer ROM implementation and developers can make one ROM image irrespective of the processor type as with Trebel the hardware interface layer is separated and is now controlled only by the OEM's layer where as the main ROM will be on a seperate layer where these ROM's can be easily implemented without worrying about hardware compatibility.
There are 2 ways to implement Trebel Using A&B partition and only A partition. Samsung has chosen to go with A partion only , but there is nothing to worry about as B is used as back up to fall back in case error.
Where as A/B system updates use two sets of partitions referred to as slots (normally slot A and slot B). The system runs from the current slot while the partitions in the unused slot are not accessed by the running system during normal operation. This approach makes updates fault resistant by keeping the unused slot as a fallback: If an error occurs during or immediately after an update, the system can rollback to the old slot and continue to have a working system. To achieve this goal, no partition used by the current slot should be updated as part of the OTA update (including partitions for which there is only one copy).

very much excited about 16th march launch..

Update :
Samsung Eshop India has started shipping S9 & S9+ today through Bluedart / Aramex & FedEx ?
Most of the retail stores are starting the sale from tommorow morning.
Post your first experience with your S9 / S9+ ???

I am sensing far less excitement this time around than with previous launches. I remember there was lot more action on Indian threads for the Note 8, S8/ S8+ and, of course, the infamous Note 7.
I currently have a Note 8, and curious about the S9+ -- especially the stereo speakers. Do they really fix one of the biggest weakness with Samsung's flagship phones -- the mediocre bottom-firing single speaker?

Hey Krumbs ,I own a Note 8 too , w e just got the units today. Compared to Note 8 there is an improvement with the ear piece acting as a front firing speaker , but is it as good as other stereo speakers from other makes - may be not . But it is a a pleasant add on and good to know Samsung has listened to their customers .

Sorry I totally disagree Sir , XDA subscriber base has only grown. Telegram is just a accessories with hardly few members , the XDA community as per me is only growing day by day.

Just got my S9+ in the morning from Samsung Smart Cafe. Looks good so far. the setup process is a lil clunky as always.

Says right in the OP.
Thank you.
Will give it a try this weekend.
Cheers
Is it stable?
My updated, rooted, CWM 5, Honeycomb is so stable right now I am afraid of trying a new ROM but at the same time I am very curious. Is everything running smoothly? What is better in your opinion?
Thanks and keep up the good work for us, users. (no idea how you guys do these modifications)
CWM 5? where did you get that?
This is for the streak 10 and not 7, are you sure you're on the right page?
Clockwork Mod 5.0.2.7
You are right. My bad.
Thank so much!!! It would be even nicer if you keep Quickoffice HD pro.
Was quickoffice preinstalled?
I dont recall as I have it though amazon (it was free for a day)
first thank you for making this rom
I would like to know may ics be available to streak 10 pro in the future
either official or cm9
coz I may buy it in a few days
thx in advance
I would imagine ICS would be eventually made available, it's too new to not recieve it.
I would recommend against buying a s10 unless you have specific reasons to get one vs a different tab.
I only got one as a companion to my s5 and s7, there's better alternatives unless they're not available where you live. (All t2 tabs are more or less identical, main thing is rom support)

I live in hong kong and streak 10 pro is selling at about usd 280 in china (where i can easily go across the border to buy it). Before that I have considered Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire (ask my friends to buy from us for me)
Compared to other tablets (samsung SGT 10, asus TF) it is about two third of their price. I would mostly use the tab for web browsing, pdf, ppt and little gaming.
ICS upgrade is not essential for me right ? But I would like to know the support of non-HD 2.x apps on the 3.2 system ? Can they be run on the tab ?
ICS would add very little if you're already on 3.2, it's mainly to bring phones to parity.
For a tablet, ICS can be considered android 3.3. It adds lots of small things, but overall it's not a huge change. I couldnt recall offhand from the release notes or the presentation anything major for a tab, it's either bringing phones to parity or new hardware specific.
Most apps will run fine, i've yet to see one that doesnt work at all (but most of my apps are at least tablet aware and some are HC native apps), worst case you can play with the scaling button and it'll think you have a giant phone.
At least the price is dropping very quickly, it's original MSRP was ¥2999 or ~$370 where you can get a gtab10 for ~$400 on ebay. Under 300 it's reasonable, but you're saving on the rom support. The gtab and tf101 and xoom and the like have massive communities for rom support. But this depends on where you live, as being in HK means you dont really need to import it might be a reasonable buy.
My rom is pretty simple, and yet I dont expect anyone else to make anything more complex, much less release it on xda/somewhere visible outside china.

I bought it in China and quickoffice's preinstalled.
"I would recommend against buying a s10 unless you have specific reasons to get one vs a different tab."
I agree with you!!
I need feedback from users that have installed it, it seems that the install script may be causing install issues as it's flashing back to back and putting in pauses might make it run better.
I have not actually tested the entire install script, I only know that the images it's flashing and the commands are good. BUT I run each line manually so there's always a delay.
I need input from more users in this regard.
if I install Chimeradroid ,after can i return to original stock rom without problems?
must I place extracted content of nvflash and chimeradroid 32, in the same folder?
in your guide..in Upcoming features:
•Long term: Languages available on the Streak 7
this includes italian language too?
how much time you estimate can it be implemented?
I dont currently have any plans to as it's extremely tedious to do so.
There is a script to back up your current rom in the package. You should run that even if you do not wish to install Chimeradroid.

[Q] Total Recall working on Galaxy Note ?

Hey,
Anyone willing to install Total Recall for the Galaxy Note to see if it works properly ?
I'm getting my Note in about a week and would really like to know if it works, also, i don't know if the normal Total Recall will work or if we need to install the version for the Samsung Galaxy S 2, Total Recall Samsung Galaxy S 2.
Android Market Total Recall:

The links are the free versions of the apps.
Any help would be appreciated
It works, keeps pinging super user permissions on root access. I'm getting a notification every second
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
It works well and I have no problem with super user requests like the previous poster. I'm using the normal version. I thought the GSII version was the same as normal, but preconfigured for good performance on GSII. The normal version can be configured the same, but other ways also if wanted, while GSII version settings are locked down.
Settings I'm using:
Recording strategy C
x Prevent phone from sleeping
x Initiate the recording after the start of the call (for automatic start/stop recording)
Thanks guys
Hi,
I am using non rooted galaxy note. Total recall records my own voice loud and clear, but I could hardly hear other person's voice.
Does total recall only work on rooted galaxy note? Any suggestions please?
This can b helpful
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415310
I tried installing Total Recall for SG2 on my Note but every time I run it it says 'an error occurred' and closed before I have a chance to test anything. You see the menu for about half a second and then the app crashes.
anyone having the same problem?
dr.ketan's thing definitely looks good, but I happen to like some of the features of Total Recall. I installed the generic version (not SGSII version) and it works great for recording both sides. I've exported my settings and attached the file here. Download the file, remove the extension (the original file has no extension but I had to add one to attach it here so I stuck on .zip, but don't bother extracting, just delete it) put the file in the root of sdcard (not external) and go to Total Recall > Export/import settings > Import. If you have the file in the root of sdcard and you deleted the extension, it should find it automatically.
I will try your method out and post my results.
I am using the Galaxy S2 version.
It seems to work but the recorded volume from the the end is quite soft.
I then made some adjustment and click the "audio" and "advanced setting"
"turn the speakerphone on while recording". I recorded as 3GPP and the
recordings are fairly acceptable.
I have an unrooted Note and of course when speaker is on other nearby
will be able to hear the conversation.

The GS2 version is just the regular version with the settings configured for optimal use on the GS2. But the thing is you can't change the settings, so if you change devices, you're stuck with those settings. Why would anybody get that version and lock themselves in, when they could get the standard version and have it work well with the GS2, then be able to reconfigure it for their next device when they bought a new phone?
I have the standard version, on my Note, configured as I explained in my 2 posts above, and it works great, recording both sides loud and clear without having to use speakerphone.
Hey Max,
Thanks for the info you've given. FYI, based on quite a bit of feedback, it seems the best way to get two-sided call recording going on the Galaxy Note is to first perform a test call using our Strategy B setting (you can adjust this under Audio -> Advanced Settings), then set the app to use Strategy C. As odd as this sounds, that's what gets this working. We're still researching the "Why", and we're also working on automating this for you to make it easier, so keep an eye out for this update.
And just as Max mentioned, the S2 build is nothing more than a version that's preset for this particular device. We'll probably release more builds like this for the more popular devices.
And just so you know, we are currently working on a complete, from the ground up rebuild to really clean up the UI (it's become a monster) and make things much easier to use, as well as adding quite a few features and updates that you guys have been requesting over the past months.

I bought the version for the Galaxy SII (i9100) because it was the season of my device, then migrated to the galaxy note N7000, made several requests on the website of killermobile requesting release so that I could use or download the version of the play version specifies to note (N7000) and unfortunately I was not satisfied.
Ae arrepdendido am today because I paid much and just because I changed my phone (samsung for samsung) can not use the product you bought and expensive, very expensive.
I feel very bad about the treatment meted out by the killer mobile site.
I use auto call recorder app from market. Works both ways and well.....

02/20 Samsung Galaxy S4 REFRESH L720VPUFNAF

Device name Software Update - L720VPUFNAF
Enhancements/Fixes
- OS upgrade to Android 4.4 (Kit Kat)
- Zact Mobile compatibility (It's On)
- Prevention Pop-up removal
Important Notes
- Software version is L720VPUFNAF
- This update will roll-out in a phased manner from 2/20 - 3/10
- Refer to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Software Update article in Support for install instructions
(via https://community.sprint.com/baw/message/733118)
Go through all the trouble of setting up my NAE updated phone and now they do this . Wonder how long it'll be before this one makes it's way around and gets a new hotspot mod.
Considering fgr had the NAE hotspot posted within 2 days of NAE dropping I would say not long.
Further browsing is revealing conflicting reports. The support link provided actually goes to the page for the 720T, showing the MK5 initial release and only NAF following it. Going through the original S4 model support page shows the known MDC-NAE list. Wonder if the rep goofed or are we really going to get a refresh. Guess we'll see after people start spamming check for updates.

Yeah I asked on the forum as well as the @sprintCare twitter account. I'm thinking the rep put the wrong model up there not knowing there were two different types of S4's. Started seeing people with the tri-band post about getting KitKat.
Yes it is for the Triband. I would like to use WiFi calling but oh well.

***CLOSED*** Enable Samsung Gallery secret hidden settings

Turns out that the stock Samsung Gallery has a secret menu, and it`s easy to enable it, take a look.
Moderator Edit: YouTube link removed due to violation of XDA external links policy.
Best part is that it runs on One UI 3.1/3.0/2.5 and 2.1 so even earlier devices should benefit.
Test it for yourself and let us know here what you were able to activate or de-activate.
Doesn't do anything on my Note 10+ /Pie.
Damn! Which version are you using (Gallery & One UI)? It should work back to One UI 2.1 - can you try again - you have to aim for the last few digits - I myself did not get it the first time...

Gallery 10.2.00.19/ One UI vers 10.0.40.6
No go with this version.
Samsung is fond of hidden secret menus. Who knows how many there really are?
I found one by accident over a year ago.
Really? Those goofballs would have you tapping on everything. It's more than just annoying.
Anymore I cringed at updating any Samsung apk other than Wearables. Last update on the Good Lock family of apps left it with dumb looking creepy dancing icons on the main menu and zero tangible functionality improvements.
Small wonder I'm still running Pie; don't need AT&T/Samsung and Google screwing up -my- N10+!
I found a few more in Bixby (allowing capsule test) and S Health (a bit more settings) - still testing them...
Agree - stick on Pie - unless you dont want to test next versions
I finally got it to work. You have to press on the version number several times not the word Gallery. Kind of interesting....
I tried and it did not work, but i tried harder, and being pixel perfect? It did work on A32 latest version.
Works on my S21+ (stock) with all the latest updates. Thanks!

Question Has anyone been able to change CSC code to enable native call recording on A33?

I just purchased this samsung phone after ages (been using xiaomi and other phones) but unfortunately it does not offer call recording in my country. Can anyone please share if they were able to change the CSC code to one with working call recording (indian csc maybe I have seen some indian youtubers mentioning how to enable call recording) .....also please guide me how exactly do you change the csc code on this phone any tutorial would be very helpful thanks.
Quick Update: I was able to enable call recording by changing my CSC through sam fw tool there is a catch tho, as soon as I change my csc to anything non-native the galaxy store starts spamming "get recommended apps from your provider" ads after every few minutes and there is no way to block notifications from galaxy store (the option to disable notifications is greyed out) so I had to revert back.
How about completely disabling the galaxy store then?
Do some people actually use that bloatware for real? That was like the first thing I debloated
Here you can read how I enabled native call recording feature on my Samsung device
Should work on most modern day Samsung devices out there
Enjoy

Galaxy Store is required because samsung apps (camera, themes, keyboard, cloud backup etc) are not available in play store they update via galaxy store disabling galaxy store would make sense only on a custom rom which unfortunately isnt available for my device A33 and I am not rooted either. I came back to samsung after many years on ios, miui and other UI and I am baffled by how polished One UI has become I can never go back to MIUI (it was a torture with all its bugs that never get fixed) or any other User interface.....I can literally customize anything from icons, font, system wide theming to even the statusbar icons (using good lock app) back in the days we had to use xposed modules to modify statusbar icons. Lack of native call recording is my only gripe with ONE UI at the moment.
Hi my default region is dubai. For call recording option i changed my fw to indian fw. Actually i got the call recording option. Similarly im having good battery life better than before. Only catch was samsung pay replace for Samsung pay mini. I think its better to switch full fw than only cse
So is it possible to change csc in a33 using samfw? to enable call recording?
Yes,
Have you not read the other posts?
I was due a replacement phone - so I decided on the A33 5G (sim free, untouched by any network provider)
.
Bought it direct from the Samsung Store online, paid £319.99 - £10 cheaper than most other stores online, i didnt want a contract, didnt want finance, just went hassle free and paid for it outright and it was direct from manufacturer.
I would usually require the most powerfull device available with the most freedom. and least restrictions, lets say a feature packed, flagship for a power user.
Well... my needs have changed and wow, for a mid entry device - the A33 is awesome.
BUT NO Native call recording in the UK.

I am 100% capable and confident with reprogramming the device if needed, I was a phone technician back in the day, the Beginning of Android changed the game for me and killed any future progression in my career.
Anyhow, can anyone advise - what other features are restriction by laws, location etc etc.
Is there any tools that can scan the firmware, or list all CSCs with their geolocated features etc.
kind regards,
Dan
