'Camera 2 API'... Have any of you rooted to enable this?? Thanks. - Huawei Mate 10 Themes, Apps, and Mods

So, I have the mate 10 Pro. Really frustrating to be so limited when trying to use third party camera apps... The only solution I can find is to root.
I haven't done this before, and I'm slightly dubious. I would just like any advice please. Has anyone done it. What's the best way. Does it even work etc... Thanks again.

Ya me too
Im eager to use 3rd party camera apps as well

How to get JBed/J2ME apps working?

Hello everyone,
I want to run a few JavaME apps on my Milestone.
I followed the steps, that I found on a site called LeakDroid..
but when I start the Java app, it force-closes :/
Maybe I need a different version, but I don't really know..
Did anyone manage to get it running?
Nobody managed to get JBed working on a Milestone?
A little late. But it might help. Have a look at java2me explorer and java2me manager. it worked for some games with me. Off course not all off them. Some still crash, but better than nothing. I´m shure others things exist/will appear.
Hope it helps someone.

Record screen. Any functional app?

Hi, i want an app that records the screen (Not screenshot). I already know apps like screencast and Z-Screenrecorder, but other people says that it doesn't work.
Anybody knows if they fixed the bugs? Because the thread that i read are old, and i don't know if there were some news.
I'm not rooted yet to try this, so i wan't to ask this favor before going to root my phone.

Mirrorlink for non-Sony ROMs

Hey,
I recently switched to MoKee and had to find out, that mirrorlink does not work/come with aosp/cm.
Has anybody found a way to get it back to work? Which files need to be placed where, or better: are there simple 3rd party apps which can do the same, or an exposed module?
Thx
So after 200 views with no answers I guess I'm outta luck :-\

[Q][CM11-EXP] Camera works but not for third party apps

Hello Everyone,
yesterday i finally flashed the experimental cyanogenmod11 on my Z1. So far everythings
fine (in contrary to FXP303 also camera and gps work). But every third party app, like
QRdroid, BarcodeScanner or AppJobber works weird with the camera. When they show the
camera i can see a clear view for a wink, but then it splits up into four views (all the
same), but with extreme noise and extremely colourful.
I think, that a part of the Sony-Firmware does this to the camera input for third party plugins,
because when i take a screenshot of it (tried to post it here) the view is perfect, without
noise, no split, ... and the same, when i change to another app.
Removing the sony-firmware just shuts down the camera completely (believe me, i tried),
but the camera at least works, even when the firmware is greenified.
Now my question is, if anybody experiences the same problem and how you worked it around
or if somebody has an idea how to deal with that problem.
My next attempt will be to kill every single sony process on the phone one after one and
test the camera, if that was the evil camera-disabler.
Thanks in advance!

You don´t need to erase anything. Just flash Cm11, go to development options and disable HW overlays. Your third party camera apps will work fine

Nokia 7 Plus, A few Questions

Hi All,
Newbie here so please be gentle with me, love the look of this fourm so thought I would join in!
I purchased the Nokia 7 Plus here in the UK (TA-1055 model) about a week ago and I am very happy with it, I do have a few questions tho...
What does it mean by unlocking the bootloader? what does this do and what can you do once you have done this?
Is it really worth using the google camera app instead of the stock Nokia camera app?
Other tips on getting more battery life (not that I run out, just curious as to what settings you can change)
Also I am not getting the notification dots come up on any apps and the notification dot settings is set to on
Look forward to hearing your wise words!
I have the same model.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to make root access workable and change ROMs etc. If you don't know what that means then don't bother with it
Yes it's really worth to use Google Camera app for normal photos (not videos). The difference is unbelievable. Use APK and settings from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76834155&postcount=267
Don't know how you can improve battery life (never bother with this, Android does this automatically) and get your notification dots working (notification dots need special permissions if you use another launcher).

Hi mate,
Thanks for your reply, dont think I will bother with the bootloader stuff as sounds too complicated for me lol.
Ok thats great will try that camera app! and how come dont use it for videos? I have just upgraded to this phone from a Moto G4+ and was seriously considering swapping this for a Moto G6 plus but really want to give this phone a chance! as i do like it!
And as for notification dots I managed to sort that in the special permissions settings by turning on launcher 3!
Video will not work well with Pixel camera because mainly of sound. The Nokia uses a special sound system with several mics called Ozo Sound. So it's best to use it with the Nokia camera itself.
Ok thanks, and is the sound quality noticeable when playing the video back on the phone or on a pc?
And not sure if this is something I can change in settings but the gcam won't zoom in when I want to take a photo is this right?
I think noticeable on both.
There is no good zoom in gcam because there is no Google phone camera with an optical zoom or second lens (so no support for second lens).
