I want to share mi5 first oreo base global dev rom link for our mi5! It is close beta rom with some testing features and some bugs! If you don't like bug don't test it and wait for stable release! If found serious problem don't blame me! I mak only sharing and I am not dev.I am only testing user with crazy in news features. Thanks download and test below. Only clean flash! Format system, data, cache nd delvik cache .

I am not sure bro. I haven't check video resolution. Now i use pixel experience mode.

1080p 60fps is not possible on Mi5. Obviously hardware limitation, as no ROM variant has it.

Why??
Why Android 8.0 and not 8.1??
All custom roms and the official pure android are in the 8.1 version, but the xiaomi used the 8.0 version.
I don't understand, the official miui 9 is in the 7.0 android version and not in the 7.1... Why the xiaomi always use the first version of the android with the base and not the currently version?

Because you should say big thank you cause you receive almost fresh factory updates for an old phone, unlike most manufacturers. And you will for some more years...

Thanks for shereing

Before you talk you should get informed because Mi 5 has the same hardware of Oneplus 3 which has already this option. Always abecedarian people I find.

Ok. It will probably get 60 FPS videos in 2025. 240 FPS slowmo too

Can someone give me download link of china dev close beta rom 8.3.12 base on oreo?.I want to test. Thanks alots.

Best ROM for MI5/pro

I know this is a stupid question.
So what is best rom for MI5 ?
My preference is good RAM management, Battery optimization and less buggy.
Here's some list for you to vote.
1. MIUI 8.2 Global Stable (MM)
2. MIUI 7.2 Global Beta (N)
3. Xiaomi EU Stable (MM)
4. Xiaomi EU Weekly (N)
5. RR 7.1
6. RR 6.0
7. Lineage OS (N)
8. You tell me. ?
Actually I'd be happy to get a MIUI based ROM.
But it would be okay with Android vanilla.
So Please share your opinion here.
Think it'd help me and new MI5 users like me as well.
Thank You.

I heard EU rom enables camera api2. They even mentioned it on their forum. But after installing, Manual Camera gives FC and FV-5 doesn't shoot RAW. It says my device isn't supported.
[ NB: I tried to flash EU rom with all wiped. It didn't boot. Then I flash it again wiping nothing. It boots well with all my data. I was on Global Beta before. I'm adding my 'About Phone' SS. So why doesn't it support camera api2 ? Can you help ? ]

It does! I tested it again with Proshot again:
- Set to take picture in raw format
- Made a couple of shots
- Found them in designated folder with *.dng extension
- Moved them to my Mac
- Imported them into Darktable for editing them. They all showed up there...:good:
Also tested OpenCamera: enabled Camera2 API in settings and the app didn't crash - there was no option to save the picture in raw format. I suppose there is no such an option anyway...
For good RAM management, there is not better than Lineage OS
I think Eu.Weekly & AICP.daily
XenonHD. Enough said. On my MI3 days, I usually pair the ROM with Kairi's Xceed kernel. Believe me or not, the freaking thing zips through apps. I sure which we can have an official XenonHD for our MI 5.

But What Are Bugs????

AOSP or LinageOS etc.?

Hi!
So I'm wondering if there is an ongoing developement of AOSP or LinageOS or other atlernatives for the Mi8, and if we will see any official beta release anytime soon?
I'm sick and tired of miui and all the system apps that's impossible to remove, and they keep fighting back to be default app. Grr! I would very much like a cleaner build, and would gladly be a beta tester. Although my experience from Mi5 is that miui felt more responsive than the linageos nightlies, I would rather have that and be able to choose my own apps.
Would I be even better off with this new Treble stuff?
Load MIUI 10 onto it, or global MIUI 9. Have no issues with default apps on MIUI 10. Had that with the original MIUI 9 China-rom though.

Are you able to remove all the Mi apps? Video, wallet, app store etc?
The fact is that I'm most fond of as close to stock android I can get, which is why I want AOSP. If it was possible to build AOSP on my own and still get camera, GPS and stuff to work as it should, then I'd do that.
I think it's better to have a rom built without bloat, rather than try to hide it afterwards.

Can you guide us into this MIUI 10 thing? I have china rom and unlock bootloader. No Root/TRWP or anything.
Just follow the steps here; https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/8-7-12-v2.44949/
You need TWRP.
Or wait till sources are released and there will probably be development available for AOSP/Lineage.
I have installed a treble rom (I think the RR one). The rom is working well but I went back to MIUI as Oreo doesn't support the notch yet.

Cool, was everything else than the notch working as it should? The notch is not important to me..
Aosp would be very good, always my first choice to use. Lineage can wait [emoji3]
Hope we have devs who waiting to cook the stock roms[emoji3] Otherwise I have to sell my mi8 and buy a OnePlus6[emoji26]

Currently running MIUI10 beta from Xiaomi.eu though. It's not perfect or as close to AOSP/Lineage yet but it's a TON better!
Ok Google still doesn't work & it's still on 8.1 though but it's still better than the MIUI9 mess

You cannot go from STABLE to BETA without unlocking the bootloader, and you especially cannot do it from the updater. It must be flashed. I'm going to assume that you are trying to "update" to the new version with Android Pie. The Mi Mix 2S just a day or two ago received stable MIUI 10 with 9.0. Be patient and wait for the update for us as it should be arriving soon. Beta versions were intended for developers and for testing purposes and may have bugs. It really is not worth the trouble of unlocking the bootloader and jumping to a test version for a newer version of Android even more so when a "stable" version is just around the corner. Most things will remain unchanged from MIUI 10 based on 8.1.0 to MIUI 10 based on 9.0. People have been bricking their devices due to little experience with Xiaomi smartphones, and it would be terrible to see another one join the list.

Sorry for the late reply. I believe it may possibly have a vendor ROM. Your phone should have updated over a month ago to MIUI 10. At this point I believe the only solution would be to unlock the bootloader in order to flash the latest version. Unfortunately this takes about 30 days after the unlock is requested.
That's the 3UK version of global.
No updates as of yet, either be patient or unlock bootloader and flash global stable of Pie.
Yes. And to be honest, DO NOT rush for 9.0. There is severe battery drain on 10.2.2.0 and 10.2.3.0. I used to get 6+ hours of SOT (screen on time), on 10.2.2.0 I would get about 5hrs, on the latest 10.2.3.0 I get 4 hours. Others have complained about the same. In my opinion, the added features aren't worth the battery life lost.

We have 3 Mi8's in our house
Personally I am using the Mi-Globe version " globeROM_v10_dipper_9.3.21_cfg" it is fantastic! It has all of the features such as dark mode, AOD options, face unlock, charging animations, the best themes from all over the world and zero ads.
On the other 2 phones we have the official 10.2.3. While its not as good as 9.3.21 the battery life is still about 8 hours SOT.

Optimal firmware x527

Hi all!
Tell me, what firmware on x527 is now the most optimal?
Which version of the android is more stable? 7,8,9?
Which core is better to use?
Thank you very much for the help
The most Stable is 6.0.1... the stock Rom or MIUI 10.
But there are many good Oreo and Pie Roms if you don't care about the camera.

I've always been a little skeptical about MIUI, especially on other brands, but after try most of roms based on 7, 8 and 9, I've found that the LeEco x52X works better with Marshmallow, maybe because never was an official update to a newer version and MIUI is the only really good and updated ROM around.
Hope the DEV does not stop building it.
