[MOD][Template][N950F] *06.03.2018* Custom Splash Screen Changer [Exynos] - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Had a little bit of boredom and made a MOD for the theme of Custom Splash Screen. This MOD works with my s8+, so should work for S8 and Note8. You can change now pictures without to modify and flash the bootloader (up_param.bin).
Important: The MOD only works with Exynos-8895-based devices!
Important2: ATM untested for Note8 cause i dont own it myself. Maybe someone can confirm that its working fine? seems to work
[FONT=&quot]Neither I nor XDA is responsible for any damage to your device. You're flashing at your own risk![/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Before you start, make a Nandroid (backup) of your system. Safe is safe![/FONT]

How to Flash
Place the zip on the internal/external memory.
boots into Recovery
then click on "install" in the TWRP
searches for the folder where the zip file was placed
and flashes it by clicking on the zip and dragging the slider to the right at the TWRP
rebooting
How do I change the boot logo in the template?
open the exynos8895_logochanger zip (with WinRar or 7zip) and replace the logo. jpg with another image of your choice
the new image must be renamed to logo. jpg again. Otherwise it won't work!
How to return to the Stock logo?
You don't like the custom logos anymore?
then just flash the zip appropriate for your device:
exynos8895_logochanger_Stock_Note8 (for Galaxy Note8)
Troubleshooting
If your hanging in a bootloop without access to twrp, please reflash the bootloader via odin. TWRP and system boots up again.
Note:
Not all images work, the best results are achieved if you just edit the stock image.

So, that's it, too. Leave a thank you there if it was helpful or even liked.

works on note 8
thanks

Great.

Works great on Note 8 International!

edit: resolved my issue nothing to see here

Can someone please make this for snapdragon 950u

Bricked my phone. I'm running Oreo. Had to flash original bootloader through odin. On the plus side, I haven't lost root. May have something to do with the size of the logo.jpg I used? I've attached it here.

Ok, I just flashed a different smaller (same dimensions as the original) image and it still bricked my device. No error messages or anything like that.

Maybe its you picture. Didnt tried much colorized pictures yet. Maybe the size of the image is too big. Didnt test all files yet. The stock images are around 100kb big. Yours is over 280kb. I know someone flashed pictures with 250kb on Note8 and it worked.
You have a "F" model? Or did you tried the unmodified exynos8895_logochanger.zip if it works for you?

Thanks, decreasing the file size worked (increased the .jpg compression ratio)!
However, the images are misaligned, regardless of their dimensions, often starting halfway down the screen.

I've been doing some testing with full colour images (haven't tried black and white yet).
It doesn't seem to matter about the images dimensions, they all start about halfway down the screen, but my custom ones don't appear to be resized at all, so an image with lower dimensions than the native (I'm assuming 1440x2960) will be a square surrounded by black pixels.
I've tested images up to 300kb and they all seem to work. I've tested the same image at different resolutions, as well as the same resolution as the original logo.jpg, and got the results described above.

I am having the same issue on my Note Fe.
Hope someone can figure out how to fix this.
I think Samsung did this intentionally to prevent users from modding the boot logo.

well wish i hadn't tried this, has put my phone in a bootloop and i can't even get into recovery.......

Ive edited to OP. Atm i didnt figured out which resolution or whatever works and works not. Had the same with some bootloops.

i've done this but now have Sim card not detected.
this is a stupid and dangerous post.

This is how i did it on my s8+. It works like charme.

very good.
great!

Added Note 9 Logo to OP. Maybe need a bit resize, on my s8+ its a bit on the right side.

Do you like what I did in Photoshop? I really love my phone even more now..
Would you attach this to the first post and mention me?

Anyone can download the image by selecting Full Image, so no nee to put it into OP. I was less interested in the pictures here in the thread (only examples in OP) than in the MOD itself. But feel free and upload pictures here, no problem.

Flashing an image...HELP PLEASE

Here's my issue. My keyboard a week ago started to have issue, some of the letters wouldn't work (the physical one). T-mobile will be sending me a warranty replacement. So I need to get unrooted.
I was going to use this method --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491350
Problem is the splash screen is the one for CM 4.0.4 ROM. So I can't type in the recovery console (CM 1.4). I need to get rid of that splash screen.
So some XDA'er's gave me an idea. My girlfriend has an unrooted G1. I loaded Flash Recovery (one-click root method). I did a backup of her perfectly stock 1.5 image. I took out the SD card, dropped it in mine. Loaded into CM 1.4 recovery, went to "restore latest backup" and I got a "Error performing restore! Try running nandroid-mobile.sh restore from console.". I'm stumped cause I can't use recovery console since some of my keyboard keys don't work. Can I flash thru Better Terminal flash_image to go back to unrooted stock 1.5, stock recovery and stock splash image? What's the exact command? What do you think I should do guys?
Thanks in advance.
flash the 1.22 radio
flash DangerSPL
BRICKED!!!!!!! No evidence
HAHAHAHAHA damn that's evil
if you have a second splash screen (splash2) then do this in fastboot
Code:
fastboot erase splash2
flashing the DREAIMG.nbh file will change everything else back to stock

if you are referencing me in any way, what effort? to type a few sentences
EDIT: I just got ADB to work. Woohoo. Only @ work it works, lol.
I need to get rid of this splash.
So last night after I posted this, I looked at the recovery-backup.img that flashrec made. I thought to myself "damn that's a small 5MB file for the 1.5 OS". I went into Better Terminal and flash_image the image. Rebooted the phone into recovery mode and only that changed. I figured it was too good to be true from just a 5MB img file.
I'm installing adb at work now to see if I can get this damn thing to work.
I was wondering if I flash some early 1.5 rom (Haykuro ADP 1.5Hr3) would it bring back the old splash screen and then I can just reverse to stock via the unrooting steps?
typed:
Code:
fastboot erase splash2
and it says: "erasing 'splash2'....FAILED (remote: partition is not existed!)"
Maybe I should format my SD card and remove all the partitions? I don't think he has to do with that, but I don't know what else it could be.

You have the new spl which removes the splash2. With the new spl you only have splash1.

So what do I do then? fastboot erase splash1?
Because I did that (splash1) and it says "erasing 'splash1' ... FAILED (remote: erasing error)"
I hope this has nothing to do with me switching back to the stock recovery using girlfriend image (flash_image) thru terminal. Should I go back to CM 1.4? Even though I'm in the bootloader?

Get the original T-mobile splash screen pic. It's on here a couple places and instead of deleting it just flash the original over your custom. And yes it will be splash1.
Now I'm confused. When I first boot up the phone, the T-Mobile screen comes up. Then a few seconds later it use to show the regular animated ANDROID logo when cupcake came out. But since I installed CM 4.0.4 it shows the other CM's ANDROID animated logo after the T-Mobile logo.
What part of "flashing the DREAIMG.nbh will overwrite everything" did you not understand. To unroot your phone ALL you do is flash that file. stop making this so much more difficult. after you flash rc-29, wait for your phone to update.

Well what you wrote is confusing everyone else you should have stated that in the begining. The animated screen is not a splash screen. Splash1 and splash2 is what would appear before the animated gif. And just like david said flash RC29 and your done.

Nexus one stuck on boot screen after clearing storage

I was about to buy my friends N1, after he cleared the data, it is now stuck on boot screen, he has sent this to me to try to fix since he is not a technical person at all, but I am also dumbfounded by it.
here is what happened:
1.) He went to settings and clicked restore to factory defaults
2.) It rebooted and got stuck to this.

He send unit to me just now.
1.) Removed bat to turn off since power button no longer works to shut phone off
2.) Pressed POWER+Vol Down to enter Menu
3.) Selected Clear Storage
4.) asked to confirm, so I did, it said it will reboot in 5 seconds, so it did and still stuck with this screen.
Alternatively,
I chose recovery, then wiped everything, reboot still the same.
Tried downloading multiple roms, renamed to update.zip, but it will give me an error in recover mode, not signed.
This N1 is unlocked.
Now, I want to follow the instructions here but I am wondering if it is worth it or I will just return the n1. Certainly a bad sign having seconds thoughts on moving to Android
How To: Load a Custom ROM on the Nexus One (Updated 1.11.10) | TheUnlockr
Had the same issue
Had *exactly* the same issue a few weeks ago and tried dozens of different options but eventually gave up. I sent it back to HTC for repair and it came back in two days *with a new screen* (which I didn't ask for). The screen replacement cured the screen alignment/keyboard offset issue that I was getting multiple times a day. So I was happy Excellent service from HTC!
I had a similar problem. Reflashing the recovery image, then reflashing the ROM fixed it for me.
Try pushing over Clockwork recovery, or at least reflashing Amon_RA's recovery image. If you stick with Amon's, upgrade to 1.7.0.1 while you're at it.
The reason to try Clockwork, though, is that it allows you to disable signature checks. Plus, ROM manager integration is awesome. It saves time if you flash a lot!
FIRST, try renaming the zip file just "update". NO .zip or quotes. Sometimes the PC OS adds an extra .zip.
Ken
Gave up on it too, sent it back to HK yesterday, hopefully, they will replace it too. Thanks everyone!
I would have flashed the stock factory image on to it. That's different from flashing a zip, in that the image copies the sector bit by bit, so if there is any kind of bug, it gets overwritten.

I assumed that would have worked for me too, but it didn't. Had to send it back....
I would have flashed boot, system and userdata, it was in the recovery so it wasnt bricked...
ah well
Update your recovery first.

Last Drop

Well, it seems like my phone has had its last drop. Now it's just stuck in a boot loop. I tried taking it into bootloader and reflashing, but no dice. It's been a good 2 years, you will be missed. The crappy photoshop doesn't do it justice

I don't wanna get the samsung moment
How far does it boot before it loops?
Maby your button to enter bootloader is dead. I had this with my on/off button, it was easy to fix if you have little soldering skills.
That it hangs in a loop could be because of a brocken memory module but it could also mean that a bad reset because of the shake just corrupted the memory and its nothing to bad.
I have had this happen on my kaiser before, what fixed it was to erase the files android create on the SD card (booting from Nand). Maybe it will work for you?

The thing it it goes into bootloader, and I can flash it, but when it starts up it still loops at the boot animation. It shows the green droid animation over and over again.

It seems that there is just something wrong with your actual installation. Have you cleared dalvic cache and loadet a new androidinstall.tar/gz on the sd?
I would suggest you try to flash a orginal Windows Mobile rom like thoughtlesskyle said. Try a radio update too if this will not help alone.
What to you mean with loop? does it show and staysa at the green android all the time and cant go further? or does it really reboot at some point and load untill the android pic again and again?
try to change the setup file..another builds
So my brother saw my phone sitting on my desk, and he turned it on. Lo and behold, it worked! Unfortunately, I'm loving my samsung moment too much to switch back to a qvga screen lol. I already rooted & flashed it, works like a dream
Ill just use my vogue as a backup now in case anything happens to my moment. Hopefully nothing will!
Sent from my SPH-M900 using XDA App

something dire went wrong after root, please help!

I'm not to familiar with proper forum etiquette, but ill try my best not to offend anyone, first off here is my phone credentials
samsung galaxy S4 active AT&T
SGH-i537

baseband version - i537UCUCNE3
Kernel version 3.4.0-987011
Build number KOY49H.I537UCUCNE3

Now here is my issues, i was having severe battery issues so i decided to root this device and add a custom rom with less bloatware and such, having rooted 3 devices previously i figured i could do it. I rooted with Towelroot, installed romchecker to well...check, then superuser. This is where i think i might have severely messed up because i then downloaded System App Remover so that i might be able to get rid of the bloat without flashing a new recovery and a new ROM. The uninstaller worked, however when using it i checked all the items that weren't marked as core item thinking that if it wasn't marked as crucial it wouldn't mess my phone up... man was i wrong!!
Now every time i get a text message my phone wont display who its from and if i click my notification i get the popup "unfortunately, messages has stopped working" same thing applies to internet browser, however i have yet to find the trigger for it, being seemingly random. I am officially at wits end about this! I have been on my computer now for the past 6 hours searching forum posts and asking google what to do without avail. i have already reset my phone to factory defaults by both the settings and from recovery mode and it still persists, i just managed to download safestrap and was going to attempt to flash a new ROM, however safestrap says its installed but wont boot into recovery when i hit the button.
I'd like to also mention that i tried recovering all the files i deleted with SAM however that just failed the several times i tried it and never gave an explanation as to why. However now after i have factory reset the phone it seems most of everything i deleted is back under system items but im still not able to use my messages app without it crashing nor am i able to make use of my browser at times.
I just wanted to remove the useless AT&T and Samsung apps on my phone and get more battery usage but now i cant even seem to find a way to truly bring back whatever was lost because soft and hard resets arent working nor can i get or find a way to flash a new recovery or ROM onto my device. Im sorry if this was long but i know whoever might can help needs as much info as possible so please forgive me if im out of line as per forum rules.
You should use Odin to return your phone to factory condition. This will wipe all saved files and system/app settings (so backup anything important), but should definitely solve your problem. Download this file to your PC and extract with Winrar or 7zip: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952608110
Download Odin attached to this post. Turn your phone off, then hold down vol- and power to boot it into download mode, plug it into your PC. Use Odin to select all four files as shown in the image below, then flash. It's a long process (5-10 minutes) and will at some point boot the phone into recovery, it's important to leave the phone plugged in and untouched, let it do its thing until it's fine and boots into kitkat

Hi,
I can't say that I have a solution for you, or even that I'm right. But the first thing that popped into my head is that you Flashed something (Root?) when the BootLoader is still Locked.
That, or something won't work with the version of BootLoader that's on your device. For example, not every ROM available for a phone, will work with every version of BootLoader that could be on that phone and so to install "X" ROM, you have to (first unlock it) change to "Y" BootLoader.
I updated to MM and hated it. But in order to go back to KK, I had to fool my phone into thinking it's a T2 first.

Had a family member come to me with this issue. Assuming you have custom recovery go here and flash this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133/post63615067
That will allow you to boot and use phone. If you want root afterwards then re flash SuperSu (systemless version if on stock kernel).
