Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP and etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need updating the Firmware If I'm MIUI official or custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?
All Snapdragon devices including China-only devices.
Check the full devices list here!
Why there are no MTK devices?
Because it doesn't have firmware-update package
How to update firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE.
2- Flash it using TWRP or any custom recovery. There's no need to wipe/format anything before or after the installation.
How to check the updated firmware?
Usually, the modem gets updated with newer firmware, you can check it in Settings > About > Baseband.

What is Xiaomi Firmware Updater?
A set of various scripts that automatically generates Xiaomi firmware flashable zip files for every MIUI new update! My scripts download MIUI official ROMs, both Developer and Stable, Global, EEA, India, and China, extract firmware either from the firmware-update folder or from update payload, generate firmware flashable zip with auto-written "updater-script", and uploads them automatically to multiple servers. These scripts are completely automated, running on a Linux server every X hours.
Notes:
Firmware filenames for this device are in the following manner:
fw_star_miui_STAR_*.zip is Mi 11 Pro / Ultra (star) Global firmware.

fw_star_miui_STAREEAGlobal_*.zip is Mi 11 Ultra (star) EEA Global firmware.

Custom MIUI ROMs doesn't need updating firmware manually. You will get the newer Firmware with the newer update.

Hi guys. Potentially stupid question hehe: Can I apply the incremental update from EEA to a Global ROM? I'm actually liking the global one, but no updates so far. But I don't want to flash again and move to EEA... Thanks for the help!

These stock Chinese versions will be available to the correct current versions people are using. You cannot with stock Chinese make multiple versions available it's I'm afraid, it will only update your current branch when it sees a released updated version.
If you want to change branches, stable to beta or other way around, then you will need to use fastboot ROMs until a twrp is released but don't forget, a change of branch is like a change of region like Chinese to global or to EU, you must do a format data due to partition differences between the ROMs.

Khalvat my brother , congratulations with Your First Android 12 build for the KLTE , Last year you were as well the first to greet us with Android 11 , I installed it , and will review it , Thanks for making our dreams come true .. best regards Puck.
Kltedv?
sm-g900i using klte build. No addons
Formatted and cleaned all but SD card
twrp v3.3.1 (I'll upgrade for next build)
Thanks @khalvat for your amazing build. I'm so impressed with the positive changes and speed with A12. After using it for most of yesterday, I have reluctantly returned back to A11 for Bluetooth and camera operations.
Looking forward to future tests
thanks Khavat for the rom, great job, the rom is cool
Using a 6100mAh Battery but I put this sucker on a full charge and let it go with a movie all day at about 20% or so brightness and a loud volume no battery saver settings.

[CUSTOM][GAPPS] BiTGApps for Android
Hi All, Welcome to the official BiTGApps Release thread! BiTGApps is a customized Google Apps Package to sideload Google Apps in Custom Android OS. It comes with many useful features and easy installation. Get features list, instructions...
forum.xda-developers.com
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP is recommended)
TWRP Link : https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
1) Copy crDroid zip, GAPPS zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash GAPPS
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk v23.0 (whatever is most recent, Android 12 is now supported)
ROM Asking for Decryption key on boot:
This isn't a ROM issue, but an issue with your device. Kindly boot into TWRP and go to wipe - choose FORMAT - TYPE - YES
***This WILL wipe your INTERNAL storage. Backup before performing the format.
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
WHATS NOT WORKING
1. Sim network ON S5 DUAL SIM
2. Bluetooth
3. Camera
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed
- have modified system files

It is never too early to congratulate THE GREAT HERO you are, Sir KHALVAT. The new ROM is in a good shape in my KLTE SM-G900F. I am using it for 72 hours and, apart from some glitches noticed in the crDroid Settings and the missing functionalities mentioned in the OP, I am really satisfied with my system. I am sure that the next release will solve the problem of the boot process.
For the folks out there, I installed the ROM and added the latest release of the BiTGApps, Magisk v23.0 for root access and diverse pieces of software I always use in my device to improve its performance.
Big thanks to KHALVAT for keeping our beloved Samsung Galaxy S5 alive. You are simply THE BEST.

Notes:
Firmware filenames for this device are in the following manner:
fw_vili_miui_VILIGlobal_*.zip is Xiaomi 11T Pro (vili) Global firmware.
fw_vili_miui_VILIEEAGlobal_*.zip is Xiaomi 11T Pro (vili) EEA Global firmware.
fw_vili_miui_VILIINGlobal_*.zip is Xiaomi 11T Pro (vili) India Global firmware.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is firmware? Is it a full ROM or OTA package?
Firmware is not a ROM nor OTA Package, it's a set of low-level drivers which helps the operating system do whatever it wants to do. It includes various things like Modem, Bluetooth, Bootloader, DSP etc.
Why should I update the Firmware?
Firmware is provided from Xiaomi directly, and there are no sources for it to let developers build and edit it on their own like custom ROMs, so if you want to keep your device up to date always update your firmware!
Do I need to update the Firmware If I'm an MIUI official or a custom ROM user?
No, MIUI ROMs contain the firmware-update package, which I extract and provide here.
What are the supported devices?
All Snapdragon and MTK devices, including China-only devices.
Check the full devices list here
How to update the firmware?
1- Download the package you want to flash. IT MUST BE NAMED WITH THE SAME CODENAME OF YOUR DEVICE.
2- Flash it using TWRP or any custom recovery. There's no need to wipe/format anything before or after the installation.
How to check the updated firmware?
Usually, the modem gets updated with newer firmware, you can check it in Settings > About > Baseband.

Wonderful project and appreciate it!
Btw, 11T Pro doesn't have twrp recovery for Android 12 based ROMs or GSI ROMs as they are flashable only in fastboot. How else can we flash these firmware files?
Example: If I have MIUI 13 as the base and flashed a GSI ROM in fastboot, how can I flash these firmware files?

Yes, I got the script from global fastboot ROM and compared it with your link and see few of them are missing. Will check your script in the zip, once it completes the download, and compare it.
EDIT: Flashed it with the script that you mentioned in fastboot and it's all good! I am attaching the bat file if anyone needs it and I modified it a little bit. Btw, I am NOT the original author - just listing it here for convenience which includes my minor changes! After you extract the zip, copy the attached file to firmware-update folder and rename the .txt file to .bat and run it.

Alright.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in theory in order to compile AOSP for a device and have it working properly you need the proprietary firmware, which includes all of the drivers for the various components.
So, if I understand correctly, with this firmware I could compile AOSP by myself and have a stock Android image to flash on my device?

You are right, but the part you're talking about of proprietary drivers is the one that is shipped in vendor and odm partitions (as per Google's project treble sepcs). While files in firmware-update part of ROM zip is what I share here (which has also drivers for modem, bluetooth, dsp, etc. but not directly related with building the ROM, as you just need to ship is as is or simply flash before the ROM).

Alright, thanks for the explanation.
So, what it means is that I could go to TWRP, flash the firmware, flash the stock ROM from here, and have a fully functional stock Android? Sorry to bother you again
